Part V

Chapter 2:

The Path

"Pietro, what's going on? Was that part of the plan?" Wanda gasps out looking at all the panic people running out to the main town area.

Pietro shakes his head in confusion. "I have no idea, Wanda. I was told the same thing."

Suddenly the ground around them began to shake, looking around the twins searched around in confusion. Wanda widens her eyes in horror.

"P-Pietro…I think I found the reason." Wanda mutters pulling her brother closer to her.

Pietro turns his head over to the direction Wanda is pointing and grimaced at the sight of a Scarecrow demon. He narrows his eyes at the sight of an older woman struggling to get away. "Wanda, cover me."

The younger of the twins turns her attention towards the older woman and nods. With narrowed eyes, the fugitive of the UN holds her hands out concentrating her powers on the group of Scarecrows holding them back.

The moment his sister's hands were out, he ran with his usual speed to the older woman grabbing her and setting her down. He then took out his gun that his mother gave him and shot the group of Scarecrows.

Wanda sighs turning her head to her older brother with a small smile on her lips. "Let's hope no one saw that."

Pietro shrugs his shoulders. "Yeah. Come on, let's see if we can find Mom and get some answers."

Wanda nods her head, following her brother out towards the main streets of Fortuna.

"Hey! You two!"

"Shit." Pietro swore, pulling his twin closer to him, he turns his head over to see the silver-haired young man jogging up to them. "

"What are you two doing here? You should be heading to Headquarters for safety." The young silver-haired young man states.

"We're looking for our Mother." Wanda states turning towards the young man. "You see, she's very ill and didn't come to service with us. Now with the demons attacking, we're worried for her."

The young man sighs rubbing the back of his head. "All right, but be safe, there's a wanted man on the loose." With that, he runs off.

"That was….a very good lie." Pietro muses looking at his sister. "I'm impressed."

"Impressed or not, we got to go, come on." Wanda grabs Pietro's hand and drags him to a nearby abandoned home. "Now let's get changed and find Mom."

Pietro nods his head and pulls out a loose piece of floorboard. Reaching in, he hands over one bag to his sister.

After a few minutes have passed, the twins emerged in different outfits. Pietro walks out dressed in a black shirt with a silver-blue jacket along with black jeans and combat boots, a gun is seen holstered on his right hip, and a sword strapped to his back. Wanda, on the other hand, walks out with a black tank top and a scarlet red jacket along with black tights and black boots.

Pietro turns to his sister with a calculating look. "You're missing something."

"Am I?" She asks dropping her Sokovian accent.

"Yes, that," Pietro states with a huff. "Can't believe Mom helped you lose your accent."

"Well, you're not the one who's a wanted criminal." Wanda retorts back walking out of the abandoned house. "That guy said we should be heading to headquarters. Think that should be our first stop in finding mom?"

Pietro shrugs looking around the area, pulling his silver locks into a top knot. "You think that's where mom is heading?"

"Possibly, maybe." Wanda frowns crossing her arms in thought. "Mom told us to sit in the congregation and run when the others began running. She didn't tell us why, or what the other half of the plan is. In fact, as far as we're concerned the murder of the human priest wasn't part of the plan upon…unless it was."

Pietro looks at his sister in confusion. "What you mean?"

"Mom said we'll be in a town who worships a demon as a god right?" Wanda asks.

"Yeah." Pietro nods. "Wait, are you saying that…"

Wanda nods her head. "I think so." She turns her head towards the church. "That guy said we should head to the headquarters."

"You think that's where mom is?" Pietro asks. "I mean isn't that where the authorities are at?"

"Yeah…but if the town is a city of cultist who worships a demon as a god then…"

Wanda turns to look at her brother. "I always liked the idea of sightseeing."

Pietro rolls his eyes at his sister. "Right, come on. Let's see where the sightseeing takes us."

"This. Is. Your. Fault!" Wanda shouts throwing a large knight suite demon on the wall using her powers. She turns to look at her brother who was holding his sword. "You had to joke about it not being alive."

Pietro shrugs his shoulder looking at his younger sister sheepishly. "Sorry?"

Wanda raises an eyebrow at him. "Right." She looks around at the old library. "Something isn't right."

"Yeah…did you see what was on their arm?" Pietro asks.

"Did you?" Wanda asks.

"The Order of the Sword's symbol. Remember, mom showed it to us." Pietro muttered. "Something's defiantly not right."

Wanda looks around the room to look for a way out. "Pietro. This way."

The twins ran out of the library, finding their way out of the old library.

As the twins made their way through the castle of Fortuna, they were not prepared for what came next.

Hey! How about that? Almost a year since I updated...huh.

Okay so why was I away? Last year my father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. So I took time off to digest the news and help my family. Glad to say after one year he's back walking and working, but not cancer free. I would have made a AN but, it didn't feel right. There was a college stuff I had to take care of.

But yeah that was my reason.

God, that song is so catchy.

What did you guys think of the trailer for Devil May Cry 5? I admit I thought it was a sequel to the reboot. Until I heard the familiar voice and saw the beautiful Red Queen. I'm pumped for this game and to fit it in this story.

Which brings me to my next point

Once Devil May Cry 4 is over, this story will once again go on a Hiatus. Why?

How can I write Infinity War without having it available for me to watch? And I wanna figure out where I'll send Evyn off to.

No worries! During the Hiatus of this story, a new story would arise.

It'll be in a similar format but a different take.
