Emma then took out one of the donuts and took a bite. She closed her eyes and smiled.

She then held the donut up to his mouth. He leaned forward and bit off a piece. He licked his lips.

"Is that marshmallow filling?"

"Yep," Emma agreed before she licked her fingers. She then took another bite.

Killian adjusted the box in his arms and reached for the white paper bag.

He grinned as he took the remaining donut. "You didn't think both of them were for you, did you?"

She rolled her eyes. "Just don't drop those cookies - Mary Margaret might actually kill you."

He chuckled and shook his head. "She would be rather cross." With a tilt of his head, he said, "I can't say I would blame her though. Breadcrumbs is a rather delicious bakery."

Emma hummed. She then furrowed her eyebrows. "Although the name was never clear to me."

Killian took a bite of his donut before he explained, "It's from Hansel and Gretel - Sara and Jack are also twins, so it's fitting."

She tilted her head and scrunched her nose. "Huh. I guess it does - and I shouldn't be surprised by the fairytale theme."

He laughed and shook his head. "Well, Swan, with a picturesque town like Storybrooke, it's rather easy to see the comparison."

He then nudged her shoulder with his. "What's the matter, love? Not the fairytale sort?"

She shook her head and rolled her eyes. She then took a bite of the donut, the filling sliding down her chin.

She snatched the bag from Killian and grabbed a napkin. She wiped her mouth before she licked the excess.

A grin spread across her features. "Clearly, I'm perfect princess material."

With a laugh, Killian then offered, "Well, love, you'd make a hell of a pirate."

She giggled. "So, does that make you the Jack Sparrow to my Elizabeth Swann?"

He side-eyed her. "There should be a captain in there somewhere."

Emma refrained from an eye roll and feigned a smile. "Oh, forgive me, Captain - I should have known better."

He shook his head. "I don't appreciate the sarcasm."

She chuckled and nudged his arm. "You're one to talk."

He grinned. "I can't very well argue with that, can I?"

Emma rolled her eyes while he laughed. She then swatted his arm before she finished her donut.

She grabbed another napkin and wiped her hands and mouth. She then wiped the excess on her jeans.

She sighed and planted her hands on her hips. "I should have grabbed some water at the bakery."

Killian hummed. "I'm sure Mary Margaret has plenty of refreshments."

Emma couldn't help but chuckle. She then waved her hand ahead of them.

"Turn by the hardware store. It's the easiest way to get to the school."

Killian smiled and shook his head before they both stopped to toss their trash. He then reminded her, "I know where it is, Swan."

She shrugged her shoulders. "I was just making sure. You do have a tendency to get distracted."

"Only when you're around, love."

He winked at her. A blush colored her cheeks as she pushed her hair behind her ear and looked down at her combat boots.

She then sighed. "Damn it. The marshmallow - it's on my shirt, too."

Killian glanced her way and furrowed his eyebrows. "Is that my shirt, Swan?"

She twirled her hair around her fingers. "Maybe?"

He shook his head. "Why do you even have it?"

She tilted her head and scrunched her nose. "Uh, well…" she began, earning another head shake from her best friend.

"Oh!" she exclaimed. She waved her hands as she recalled, "We were sitting outside at your place - but you ran inside to grab something. It started to rain, and I got soaked because the door got stuck."

Killian scratched behind his ear. "Ah - the door I kept forgetting to call the landlord to fix."

"Mm-hmm," Emma teased with a grin. She then nudged his shoulder.

"But I also forgot to give you your shirt back, so we're even."

He smiled at her as they came upon the school. Mary Margaret shut the door to her car before she noticed them.

She waved before she joined them. She took the box of cookies from Killian.

With a smile, she offered, "Thank you guys for picking these up for me. I really appreciate it."

Before either of them could reply, she reached into her purse and grabbed a napkin - as well as a small bottle of water. She passed them to Emma.

"Oh, uh, thanks," the blonde began. As she wiped her shirt, she continued, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you're super prepared."

"I think that's true of all teachers, love."

Emma hummed as she shoved the napkin in her pocket and sipped her water. She then glanced at the time on her phone.

"We should head to the Rabbit Hole before it gets too crowded."

"Aye, love," Killian agreed before Emma turned her attention back to Mary Margaret.

"Do you need help with anything before we go?"

Mary Margaret shook her head. A smile then made its way across her face.

"But thank you. You two have fun."

Her smile then changed to a grin. Killian scratched behind his ear as Emma twirled the ends of her hair.

Mary Margaret turned on her heel and walked back to the school. She barely made it past her car when Regina joined her.

"Ariel needed your help. Something about her computer."

Mary Margaret nodded. She then tilted her head. "Oh, that's right - you wanted to talk to Emma. I'll leave you to it."

The pixie-haired brunette offered a wave before she continued into the school.

Killian then quipped, "Well, Your Majesty, I suppose you couldn't let Open House pass without torturing a few children?"

Emma smacked his arm while Regina rolled her eyes. The latter then spoke, "I had hoped to just speak to you, Emma, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised that your other half is with you."

The blonde planted her hands on her hips. "We are not that bad."

Regina waved her hand. "Oh, please, you two are joined at the hip. It is beyond me how you manage to actually sheriff anything."

Emma opened her mouth to protest - but promptly closed it. She then took a breath.

"What did you want to see me about?"

"This new deputy. Will he be properly trained in time for the Founder's Day Festival?"

Emma fought the urge to roll her eyes as Killian offered, "With all due respect, Regina, I think the only thing that you as our lovely mayor will have to worry about is Leroy and his brothers having a bit too much to drink."

Regina narrowed her eyes. "Like you're any better, Captain Morgan?"

He cocked an eyebrow. "I have to say, Madam Mayor, I didn't know you were so apprised of my habits."

She crossed her arms. "I'm pretty certain any number of people could recite your and Emma's drinking habits."

He opened his mouth when Emma swatted at him again. He eyed her as she turned to Regina.

"David is out on patrol with Nicholas now, and we've both been training him on everything else. He's a fast learner, and he's eager to learn. He'll be more than ready for the festival."

Regina offered a nod. "That is good to hear." She then gestured behind her. "I should get back inside. I want to do my part to make sure that Open House is a success."

She turned on her heel and marched back toward the school.

Emma then set Killian with a glare. "Why do you provoke her with that stupid Evil Queen nickname? It's not even that funny."

He pushed her hair behind her shoulder. "It's actually quite funny - she just doesn't appreciate my sense of humor."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, your sense of humor is tolerated at best."

He grinned. "So, is that why you giggle like a schoolgirl when I'm around?"

He then ran his fingers through her hair, his hand lingering on her waist. Her cheeks tinged pink.

She then placed the water in her bag before she nudged his shoulder with hers. "Come on, we better get to the bar."

A smile spread across his face. "As you wish, Swan." She couldn't help but smile.

Their steps synced together as they continued to their Friday night spot.
