She then walked over to the dartboard and grabbed all the darts, placing them on a nearby table. She then leaned against the wood as her gaze found Killian.

Emma couldn't help but smile as she watched him. He leaned on the counter and drummed his fingers together. She could make out the words of "You Give Love a Bad Name" as he sang along to the music playing throughout the bar.

She then took a deep breath and ran her fingers through her hair.

"Hi, Emma."

Her eyes widened as she jumped. She spun around to find Archie.

He placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Emma. I didn't mean to startle you."

With a shrug, she waved her hand. "It's okay. I was just, uh, distracted, I guess."

She glanced away and shoved her hands in her pockets. She then looked back at him and asked, "So, uh, what brings you here? You don't really seem the bar type."

Archie chuckled. "I just wanted a change of scenery." He then folded his hands on the table. "And I knew you would be here."

She raised an eyebrow. "Archie – you know I've appreciated your help, but I don't like being shrinked."

He smiled and shook his head. "Emma, I'm not here as a psychiatrist – I'm here as a friend."

She crossed her arms over her chest. She then let out a deep breath. "I know you are – and I'm sorry. I'm still a little defensive sometimes."

"I know – and it's okay," he offered with a smile.

With a tilt of his head, he then surmised, "And are you doing okay? The anniversary was a few weeks ago."

"Yeah, I know." She then glanced down and ran her fingers back through her hair.

A soft smile crossed her features as she looked back up. "But I know that, well, you know, wherever Graham is, he's happy."

"That is a comforting – and healthy – way to look at it, Emma."

Archie then nodded behind her. "Killian is on his way back – I'll let you two get back to your date."

He then rubbed his forehead. "Sorry if I'm being presumptuous. I didn't mean for it to come out like that."

He then took a deep breath. "I'm just happy to see that you've opened yourself up again."

A blush spread across her cheeks. "Well, he is a great guy – and he's my best friend."

Archie hummed and wished her a good night. She said the same before he headed across the bar to rejoin his friend, Marco, and his dog, Pongo.

Emma couldn't help but smile as she watched them. Her gaze then drifted toward Killian as he rejoined her.

He placed their drinks on the table before he furrowed his eyebrows. "Everything alright, love? I saw you talking with the Cricket."

Emma crossed her arms over her chest. "What is it with you and all the Disney references?"

He shrugged. A grin then spread across his face. "I find it rather endearing." She shook her head while his grin only grew.

He sipped on his drink before he offered, "And besides, Archie is rather like Jiminy Cricket with the whole conscience thing – it's why he's so good at what he does."

With a tilt of her head, she surmised, "I guess I can't argue with that."

She then grabbed her drink and took a swig. She placed the glass back on the table and reached for the darts.

She held them up with a smile. "Ready to lose, Killian?"

He grinned. "That's mighty bold of you, Swan. Are you sure you can back it up?"

"Why don't we play, and you can find out?" She waved a few of the darts at him.

He took them from her before he tapped her nose with one. "Care to establish this wager of yours?"

She hooked her thumbs into her belt loops and leaned forward. "I'll let you pick first since you don't have much of a chance."

He rolled his eyes and shook his head. He then found his blue eyes roaming the bar.

He then trained them back on her. "If I win, you sing karaoke with me. But if you win -"

She put her hand up. "If I win, you owe me a plate of nachos."

Killian laughed. "Food, darling? Really? I thought perhaps you'd want something a bit more interesting, like say a dance?"

Emma smiled at him. "We were already going to dance at some point. I thought I'd get some of Ruby's famous nachos out of the deal."

Killian shook his head and chuckled. "Well, love, if that's what you desire, then I will make sure you get it."

He then winked at her. "If you manage to beat me, that is."

She shot him a grin. "Oh, I think I will, Jones."

"You're on, Swan."

The pair stared each other down until Emma's face flushed red. Killian scratched behind his ear before he cleared his throat.

"I'll, uh, go first, love." Emma nodded before Killian turned to face the dartboard. He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration.

He threw the first dart - and it bounced off the wall and fell to the ground. He sighed and raked his hands through his hair.

He then heard Emma giggle behind him. "Lose your concentration, sailor?"

He turned to face her, his arms crossed over his chest. "If I did, it's your bloody fault." The glare he wore fell away and turned into a smile.

Emma threw her head back in laughter. "You know, I'm not sure how well that worked if you wanted to be annoyed with me."

He couldn't help but shrug. "I can't quite argue with you, love. You know I could never stay cross with you for too long."

She hummed before she moved past him and settled in front of the dartboard. She raised her hand and aimed.

"Hey!" she yelped when Killian hooked his arms around her waist. He lifted her and spun her around.

When he put her back down, she smacked his chest. "I didn't even say or do anything to you."

He only grinned. "Perhaps - but you're still bloody distracting. I thought you could use a taste of your own medicine."

She rolled her eyes and shook her head.

She then waved the dart at him. "Can I take my turn in peace now?"

He gestured toward the board. "By all means, love."

He then took a step back and placed his hands behind his back.

She eyed him, her arms crossed over her chest. She then took a deep breath and spun around.

Her cheeks tinged pink as her waist still tingled from his touch. She then shook her head and drew her attention back to the board.

She took a deep breath before she took aim once more. The dart sailed from her hand - and bounced off the wall.

"Damn it - I thought I had it."

Killian sidled up next to her. "Well, Swan, I'd say we're both off our game."

She sighed and planted her hands on her hips. "I'll never get my nachos at this rate."

He chuckled before he reached for their glasses. He offered it to her. "Perhaps a drink will help ease things, hmm?"

Emma shook her head. "Is rum your solution to everything?"

With a shrug, he offered, "Never hurts." He then waved the drink at her.

"Besides, love, you and I both know that you're quite fond of rum."

Her green eyes flitted back and forth between him and the drink. She then grabbed the glass and took a hearty swig.

Killian rolled his eyes. "Darling - you already know those last words to be true - you're just too stubborn to admit that I'm right."

"Because your ego just gets overinflated when I tell you as much."

"Ah ha - so you admit that I'm right."

"You're insufferable."

"But I'm still your best friend."

"Except when you're getting on my nerves."

"What can I say? I quite enjoy getting under your skin."

"Oh, I know - and it's ridiculous."

He only smirked as she crossed her arms over her chest. She then took another drink before she gripped the dart in her hand.

She faced the board and threw the dart. She landed a bull's eye.

A smile bloomed across her face as she turned toward him. "Beat that, Jones."

He grinned. "Oh, I very much intend to, Swan." He slid past her and poised himself in front of the dartboard.

He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration before he threw the dart. It landed right next to Emma's.

He threw another smirk her way. He played with the ends of her blonde hair.

"Looks like we have a real game, now."

She smirked back at him. "Yeah, I guess we do."

Their gazes locked once more - heart rates speeding and goosebumps appearing.

Emma tore her gaze away and took a deep breath. She sipped on her drink before she threw her next dart.

She smiled as she landed another bull's eye. Killian's shoulder then brushed against hers as he took his turn.

"Bloody hell," he cursed when his dart hit below the others. Emma placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Better be digging out your wallet."

She let out a chuckle as he rolled his eyes. He retrieved the darts as she sipped on her drink.

When she placed the glass back on the table, Ruby strode over to them.

"Hey, guys. How are two of my favorite customers?"

"Just playing some darts. And I'm winning," Emma answered with a grin. She received another eye roll.

"Darling, we've barely gotten started - I hardly call that winning."

Emma waved her hand. "You just don't like to lose."

Killian raised an eyebrow. "Neither do you."

Ruby couldn't help but chuckle. "Clearly, you two are fine, so I'll leave you two to your game."

When she headed back to the bar, Emma tilted her head. "We're really not subtle, are we?"

With a chuckle, Killian shook his head. "You've just now figured that out."

She shrugged. "You know that, uh, well, us, is normal."

He hummed and ran his fingers through her hair. "Is that so, love?"

She smiled and shook her head - a blush spread across her cheeks. Her gaze then drifted toward the dartboard.

"Wanna finish the game?"

Killian grinned. "It's a date, love." Her blush deepened before she rolled her eyes.
