"My name is Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots…", Optimus Prime narrated as he was driving down a road through a place shrouded in trees and forest.

Que flashback with imagery.

"It has been three years ever since our great battle with the Decepticons took place, where Megatron was to leave the Earth and never return, and to where we would not have been victorious that day, were it not for the aid of Godzilla, King of the Monsters".

"We live among Earth's people now, hiding in plain sight, where we aid our newfound human allies in Earth's governments by aiming to find a peaceful to solution to their seemingly endless war against Godzilla, to where both parties can solve their differences without the need for violence".

Que showcasing of other Autobots driving in various places across the Earth, consisting of Bumblebee, Prowl, Ratchet, Bulkhead and Wheeljack, and Ironhide and Chromia.

"Over the past three years, we have been met with the welcomed arrival of a few new Autobots to join in our quest of defending this planet, where we hunt for what remains of our Decepticon foes, as well as any Energon reserves hidden on this planet, which are essential to our very survival".

We are then shown Arcee and Cliffjumper driving on an empty road through Jasper, Nevada.

"Even with our team still struggling to find a peaceful solution to the humans' plight with Godzilla, this planet has been granted a blessing of peace, with Megatron gone. However, if Megatron's return is imminent, as I fear, it could be catastrophic…"

As Arcee and Cliffjumper continued driving through Jasper, Cliffjumper was telling Arcee a story of how he had a little run-in with some of Jasper's police force, with Arcee having a blue motorcycle as her vehicle mode and Cliffjumper being a red mustang with two small horns at the front of his hood.

"So, you're telling me you actually managed to get a tire clamp, which you know is impossible to remove, right?", Arcee asked in a joking way.

"Hey, you know what I always say, Arcee", Cliffjumper joked back. "You mess with Cliffjumper…"

"And you get the horns".

It was obvious that Arcee and Cliffjumper were very close friends. Before their conversation could continue, however, both of them received a signal on their radars, which meant they were close to some sort of Energon deposit.

"You getting that signal, too?", Cliffjumper asked Arcee.

"Yep. Think we should call for backup?", Arcee asked.

"We handled getting off Cybertron on our own, didn't we? Checking out this Energon depot should be a piece of cake. At least I think that's what the humans say", Cliffjumper said before him and Arcee arrived at the Energon deposit, which was in the form of a large crevice in the ground, containing a countless amount of Energon, in its raw, crystallized state. "Jackpot!", Cliffjumper smiled as he and Arcee transformed into their robot modes.

"Nice work, partner", Arcee smiled.

The two Autobots then made their way down into the Energon deposit. As soon as they did, however, they both heard what sounded like jets swoop around and above them. As they looked up, they saw they were being engaged by a group of Vehicon flyers.

"Scrap…", Arcee reacted.

"Arcee, I'm thinking maybe, we should go for that backup…", Cliffjumper suggested.

"Good call", Arcee said before speaking into her com link. "Arcee to Optimus. The 'Cons are back. Cliff and I might be neck-deep in scrap if we don't get some backup here soon".

"Understood", Optimus Prime said as he was driving in his semi-truck mode, far away from Arcee and Cliffjumper in the same woodland road he was on. "Calling all Autobots. Calling all Autobots", he spoke into his com link, contacting the rest of Team Prime.

On another road far away, Bumblebee gave out some enthusiastic bleeping sounds, indicating that he had heard Optimus Prime's message and was ready for whatever was about to go down.

Somewhere in one of Earth's large cities, drove a black and white police car with the Autobot insignia imbedded on the police star at the side of the vehicle, being Autobot police officer, Prowl.

"Time to lay down the law", Prowl said as he turned his sirens on so that he could quicken his speed through the rest of the vehicles on the road with him.

In another area, which was a road that contained mostly grasslands around it, were Ironhide and Chromia, with Ironhide being in his form of a heavy-duty red and black pick-up truck and Chromia being a fancy, light blue Lamborghini, two Autobots who were tough as nails and have had a very close relationship for quite a long time.

"I've been waiting for Prime to say that for what feels like a stellar cycle now", Ironhide said in his no-nonsense attitude, indicating that he was hoping he could see some action again.

"You and me both, dear", Chromia agreed. "Just make sure you save some Decepticons for me this time", she joked.

"I'll try my best but…no promises", Ironhide replied in a joking manner as they both drove off together.

On one of Earth's rockier areas, drove the two former Autobot Wreckers, Bulkhead and Wheeljack, with Bulkhead being a green, armored truck and Wheeljack being a fancy, white car with a few red and green highlights.

"You hear that, Bulk? Looks like we're getting the gang back together again", Wheeljack said in an enthusiastic manner.

"You said it, Jackie. You ready?", Bulkhead asked, reciprocating the enthusiasm.

"Have you met me? Of course, I'm ready", Wheeljack replied as the two began driving off.

In one of the snowier regions of Earth, drove Ratchet, the Autobots' medic, who was driving in his ambulance form, being orange and white in color.

"I read you, Optimus, but our team is scattered across time zones", Ratchet said in response to Optimus Prime's order. "What's the situation?"

"Arcee and Cliffjumper have been ambushed by the Decepticons, and we must regroup and converge on their location if we are to ensure their safety", Optimus Prime replied via the com link.

"Understood. I will activate the Ground Bridge immediately", Ratchet replied.

"Thank you, my friend. Autobots, rendezvous back at base and prepare to Ground Bridge", Optimus Prime ordered as he continued driving.

Back with Arcee and Cliffjumper, all the Vehicons flying over them finally landed, where they surrounded the two Autobots and had their blasters pointed at them.

"You ready, partner?", Arcee asked with enthusiasm.

"Let's give 'em the horns", Cliffjumper agreed.

"Launch me", Arcee said as she placed her foot in Cliffjumper's hand on the ground.

Receiving her order, Cliffjumper launched Arcee into the air, and before any of the Vehicons knew it, she began firing down on them with her blasters, already blasting two of them into oblivion. The rest of the Vehicons then focused on attacking Cliffjumper, where Cliffjumper acted fast enough in punching one of them down, but with his distraction, one of the Vehicons got a hit on him. Cliffjumper returned the favor by punching the other Vehicon in his face, killing him in an instant before engaging with the other two who attacked him.

Landing back on the ground, Arcee disposed of another Vehicon by slicing right through his head with one of the retractable blades on her forearm. Two more Vehicons attempted to attack her, but Arcee reacted quick enough to where she jumped up and kicked one of them as hard as she could, sending the Vehicon flying back and killing him before shooting the other one dead with her blaster.

As for Cliffjumper, he punched one of his attacking Vehicons enough times to where the Decepticon was sent back to a good distance where he was able to use his triple-barreled blasters in shooting the Vehicon to death. With just one Vehicon left for him, Cliffjumper punched him back and blasted him in his stomach, sending his opponent back a good bit while wounding him. With the last Vehicon now completely off-guard, Arcee jumped up, injected her blade into the Vehicon's head, and threw him down to the ground as hard as she could as she landed on her feet!

With the attacking Vehicons disposed of, both Arcee and Cliffjumper smiled at each other, happy and thankful that their teamwork helped them succeed.

"Looks like we didn't need that backup after all", Cliffjumper smiled.

Right after Cliffjumper said that, however, both of them heard footsteps resonating from the top of the crevice they were in.

"What was that?", Arcee asked.

As both of them looked up, they were met with the unfortunate sight of Dreadwing, a proud Decepticon warrior and one of Megatron's most trusted and highest-ranking lieutenants.

"One of the last sounds that you will ever hear!", Dreadwing smiled as he confronted the two Autobots.

"Dreadwing…", Arcee reacted with a disgusted look on her face.

"Two against one. We can take him", Cliffjumper said to Arcee, even though they were both intimidated in facing one of Megatron's most powerful warriors.

Not wasting any time, Dreadwing leaped up from the ledge and jumped down into the crevice of the Energon deposit, landing on his feet with his fist pounded in the rocky ground, looking up at his two opponents and smiling at them, ready to face them in battle.

"Hit him with everything you got!", Cliffjumper declared before him and Arcee barraged Dreadwing with their Energon blasters.

Given just how powerful Dreadwing was, the impact of their blasters did nothing to him as the Decepticon took no damage as the blasts made contact with his body. Returning the favor, Dreadwing whipped out his large cannon, which was stored on his back, which was so large that it needed to be handled with two hands, one to pull the trigger and the other to hold and aim the barrel. And then, with just one shot from his cannon, both Arcee and Cliffjumper were thrown to the sides in opposite directions due to the sheer impact of Dreadwing's weapon. With both the Autobots downed, Dreadwing smiled as he put his cannon away and got out his sword, practicing with it before charging into the smoke caused by the small explosion of his blast.

Thankfully, Arcee was able to get back on her feet shortly after the impact, but as soon as she got up, Dreadwing came charging at her with his sword, trying to slice her in two with it. Even though Arcee was not nearly as strong as Dreadwing was, her small size and thin figure gave her a key advantage when it came to her agility, as she was able to dodge Dreadwing's attacks to avoid getting cut by his blade. Even with this, however, she knew she could not keep avoiding him forever. To her relief, she did not have to, as Cliffjumper began firing his blasters on Dreadwing again.

"Leave her alone!", Cliffjumper demanded as he fired at Dreadwing.

After punching Arcee out the way, Dreadwing focused his attention on Cliffjumper, where the sheer impact of Dreadwing's punch to Cliffjumper's head caused the Autobot to be sent back quite a bit.

"Cliffjumper!", Arcee called out before jumping into the air and kicking Dreadwing in his head.

Unfortunately, Dreadwing's reactions were so quick to where he was able to turn around and grab her before she could land on the ground, and with how thin and small Arcee's body was, Dreadwing was easily able to hold her in place with both his hands wrapped around her.

"An admirable effort, but you both obviously still have much to learn", Dreadwing commented before violently throwing Arcee to the side.

Even with being thrown to the ground, Arcee was able to react quick enough to where she transformed into her motorcycle mode and drove up next to Cliffjumper, followed by her transforming back into her robot mode to regroup with him.

After taking a moment to stare down his opponents, Dreadwing soon deduced that he would not be able to keep at this forever, despite him having the advantage in the fight.

"I would take it that you have called for support from the rest of the Autobots", Dreadwing said.

"Yeah, so even though you might be able to take us, I wouldn't wanna stick around when Optimus gets here", Arcee said in a stern tone.

Intending to execute his plan into motion, Dreadwing smirked before transforming back into his jet mode, flying out of the crevice, and landing at the edge of it in his robot mode before pulling out his detonator device that he was known to use when his grenades were about to go off.

"While I do wish our battle could have lasted longer, I should hope that both of you have paid close enough attention to your surroundings", Dreadwing said before pressing the button on his detonator.

Hearing the incessant sound of rapid beeping around them, Arcee and Cliffjumper soon realized that the raw Energon standing in the crevice with them was about to explode, for Dreadwing must have placed grenades on the Energon before they arrived.

"Run!", Cliffjumper yelled as he and Arcee desperately tried to get away from the imminent explosion.

Sadly, however, Arcee and Cliffjumper were too late, as the explosion caused by the raw Energon ingulfed them, destroying all the Energon in the process, with Dreadwing victorious. As the explosion quickly began to dissipate, the Decepticon warship, the Nemesis, appeared from the sky, where four Vehicon flyers flew out of it and into the smoke caused by the explosion. At the front of the warship's bridge stood the arrogant, cowardly, yet opportunistic Starscream, Megatron's first lieutenant who was now the current leader of the Decepticons, with Megatron still missing from Earth. Behind him stood another Decepticon by the name of Skyquake, who was the spark twin of Dreadwing, as both of them looked identical, aside from their color schemes, with Dreadwing being blue with yellow highlights and Skyquake being green with highlights of silver and red.

"The Energon, it's worthless to me now…but, given all the stockpiling we've been doing in Megatron's absence, I will gladly trade what lied in this deposit if it means getting to skewer to wretched Autobots…", Starscream smiled as he admired Dreadwing's work.

Back on the battlefield, Dreadwing now led the four Vehicons in carrying the wounded Arcee and Cliffjumper back to the warship, where two Vehicons each grabbed one of Arcee's arms and the other two each did the same with Cliffjumper's arms. After the group got on the Nemesis' boarding platform, the boarding platform raised itself back up into the Nemesis, followed by the Nemesis taking off into the distance to avoid being caught by the rest of the Autobots.

On the bridge of the Nemesis, Dreadwing and the four Vehicons approached Starscream and Skyquake, intending to present the captured Autobots to the current Decepticon leader.

"Even with Megatron gone, we were still able to capture two of Optimus Prime's Autobots…", Starscream smiled, maliciously as he looked down at them. "Excellent work, Dreadwing…"

"Commander Starscream, both of these Autobots are heavily wounded, so I suggest, if we are to terminate them, then we should make their deaths quick so as to not cause any needless suffering", Dreadwing proclaimed.

"First of all, while Lord Megatron is gone, you will address me as 'Lord Starscream', and in case you have forgotten, I am the one who makes the decisions here, not you", he said to Dreadwing, berating him for speaking out of turn. "And these Autobots will pay the price the way I deem fit. Now, out of my way!", he said as he pushed Dreadwing aside and behind him, which admittedly caused Dreadwing to feel extremely annoyed, and even Skyquake, as well.

"Scream…where's your master…?", the wounded Cliffjumper asked.

"Never mind him. I am my own master", Starscream replied. "Now, since you seem like quite the conversationalist…Cliffjumper…I shall direct my question to you", he said before crouching down. "Tell me the location of the Autobot base…"

"Oh…? And what if I choose not to tell?", Cliffjumper smiled weakly.

"You see, Cliffjumper, when it comes to interrogation, I have realized the easiest way to get what I want is through a simple ultimatum, preferably one where your own well-being is at stake…", Starscream said before finally explaining. "Tell me the location of the Autobot base, and I will allow you and Arcee to live. Refuse to comply, and I will skewer you here and now".

"Starscream, this is unnecessary", Skyquake chimed in, feeling the need to speak up.

"Silence! Neither of you have any part in this", Starscream yelled at the twins.

"Cliff…don't do it…", Arcee begged, weakly. "I…I know where the base is…", Arcee groaned.

"Oh, sorry, but, as I recall, I did not ask you", Starscream said in a smart voice as he stood back up. "Given how selfless you Autobots are, how do I know you would not risk lying to me for the sake of sparing your partner's life? But just to make sure…", he looked at one of the Vehicons standing behind Arcee.

Viewing this as a signal, the one Vehicon punched Arcee in her shoulder, as a warning for her not to talk.

"Now then, Cliffjumper…what's it going to be…?", Starscream asked.

Even after looking over at Arcee, who cared for him deeply, Cliffjumper knew he could not sell out the rest of the Autobots like that, and because of this, he had come to a decision.

"Sorry, Arcee…", Cliffjumper said in a sad tone, causing Arcee to send a distressed look his way. "I'll never tell you anything, Starscream…so as far as I'm concerned, you can eat scrap and die, you pompous, little coward…"

Before taking a moment to process what he had just said as Skyquake and Dreadwing still stood behind him with concerned expressions, Starscream looked back over at Cliffjumper with a growl.

"No one talks to me like that…", Starscream said. And then with one, swift motion of his arm, Starscream injected his sharp fingers into Cliffjumper's chest, and when he removed his fingers, Cliffjumper then bled out and died there on the bridge of the Nemesis.

"Nooooooo!", Arcee yelled out in a state of blind sadness and distress, having just witnessed her partner get murdered right in front of her.

"Now…since I doubt you will have any interest in complying with my demands, I guess I will have to skewer you now, as well…", Starscream smiled before raising his arm back to deal the same killing blow he dealt to Cliffjumper. Before he could, however, his arm was stopped due to it being forcefully grabbed by Skyquake's large hand. "What?!", Starscream reacted.

"Starscream! That is enough!", Skyquake demanded.

"Skyquake…!", Starscream reacted. "I do not understand… Do you not want to see this Autobot eviscerated as well?!"

"While just like every other Decepticon aboard this warship, I make it my mission to destroy any Autobots in the path of our conquest, I do not do so in a way that causes them to suffer unnecessarily, and especially not for fueling an already fragile ego!", Skyquake yelled, insulting Starscream as he refused to let go of his arm.

"Dreadwing! Tell your twin to unhand me at once!", Starscream demanded.

"You should already know by now, Starscream, that I agree with my brother in that you have no reason to do what you are doing to these defenseless Autobots", Dreadwing said, taking Skyquake's side. "If we truly want to determine the location of the Autobot base, then the most prudent course of action would be to allow this Autobot to live so that she may reveal it to us eventually, not killing her for the sake of your petty ego trip".

Starscream growled before berating the twins. "In case you two have forgotten, before Megatron began his venture into the cosmos, he named me as leader of the Decepticons in his absence, and because of that, you two are to take orders from me. Is that clear?!", he yelled as he kept trying to break free of Skyquake's hold on him.

"While you may be in a position of greater power, it does not change the fact that Dreadwing or I could easily dispose of you here, and even then, with your title, I doubt Lord Megatron would think very much of your demise", Skyquake threatened him.

Realizing that there was no way out for him to get what he wanted in this situation, Starscream knew he had to comply with their demands, despite him having a higher rank in the Decepticon chain of command.

"Fine…you win…for now…", Starscream growled as he was finally released of Skyquake's grasp, followed by him grabbing onto his wrist, which still felt a twinge of pain due to Skyquake squeezing it. After looking down at the now broken Arcee, Starscream spoke to Dreadwing. "Dreadwing, since having Arcee imprisoned was your idea, you will escort her to our underground prison complex in Egypt…"

"Very well, Lord Starscream", Dreadwing frowned as he approached Arcee. "You, come with me", he said as he forcefully grabbed Arcee's arm and walked briskly out of the bridge as he tightly held onto the wounded Autobot.

"You four, leave us", Starscream ordered the four Vehicons standing in front of him and Skyquake. "Oh, and if any of you speak of this interaction to Lord Megatron, I will have your heads. Understood?"

"Indeed, Commander—Lord Starscream", one of the Vehicons said before the four of them exited the bridge.

"One day, dear Skyquake, there will come a time where you will regret rejecting my rightful authority…", Starscream said to Skyquake.

"Just like usual, Starscream, the only way you have to defend what little power you truly hang onto is with empty threats", Skyquake frowned as he also began leaving the bridge of the warship.

"Well, then…we shall see how empty they truly are, now, won't we…?", Starscream smirked as he watched Skyquake leave the bridge.

Meanwhile, back at the battlefield, where Arcee and Cliffjumper fought Dreadwing, the Ground Bridge opened, where the rest of Team Prime came through one by one, with each member arriving in vehicle mode and transforming into their robot modes upon exiting the Ground Bridge, going with the order of Bumblebee, Prowl, Ratchet, Wheeljack, Bulkhead, Chromia, Ironhide, and finally, Optimus Prime, in which all of them stood there, ready for battle. Unfortunately, however, they were too late, as Arcee and Cliffjumper were gone and it was obvious that they had arrived at an untapped Energon deposit, even though there was no Energon left.

"An untapped Energon deposit", Optimus Prime commented.

"What's left of it", Bulkhead added.

"I don't get it", Ironhide said. "The Decepticons already have their hands on most of Earth's Energon stockpiles. Why have they still been so desperate in trying to find the stuff if they already got more than enough of it?"

"Greed, why else?", Bulkhead answered.

"On the contrary, Bulkhead, for if the Decepticons have still been desperately scouting for more Energon, then they may be preparing for his return…", Optimus Prime said.

Hoping to search for any sign of their comrades, the Autobots split into teams within the Energon deposit, trying to find them, where none of them had any luck.

"No sign here", Wheeljack said as he and Bulkhead couldn't find any trace of them.

"Same for us", Prowl added as he and Bumblebee searched.

"Nothing turned up for Ironhide and I, either", Chromia said on behalf of her and Ironhide.

With this, the eight Autobots regrouped, where Optimus Prime spoke to Ratchet.

"Ratchet, can you track either of their positions?", Optimus asked his medic.

Hearing this, Ratchet analyzed the scanner on his forearm to try and find where they were.

"No…", Ratchet reacted once the scanner gave him the results. "Arcee's life signal is nowhere to be found and Cliffjumper's life signal…just went offline…"

And with that, fear and grief was immediately imprinted on the Autobots' faces as they heard the news of Cliffjumper having been terminated.

As for Arcee, Dreadwing had finally taken her to the underground Decepticon prison complex located in Egypt, where it was obvious she had been repaired, not close to where she was back at her full functionality, but at least to where she would not perish from her wounds after being ingulfed in the explosion caused by Dreadwing. Even though it was him and Skyquake that saved her life back on the warship, the fact that she was right next to someone who was the reason Cliffjumper perished with him taking them to the warship and for not acting quick enough in stopping Cliffjumper's termination, Arcee knew in her spark, that despite her disadvantage against him, if she was at full functionality, she would have attacked and tried to kill Dreadwing here and now. Even Dreadwing could feel the tension between them due to everything that had just transpired, and even he felt somewhat ashamed that he did not stop Starscream from killing Cliffjumper so dishonorably.

"If it provides any comfort, I do apologize for what Starscream did to your partner", Dreadwing said, finally breaking the silence. "Were it up to me, I would end Starscream's life here and now".

"Don't think that just because you disagree with Starscream, that makes you the innocent victim here", Arcee responded, clearly still upset, and rightfully so. "Just because you would have given Cliffjumper a peaceful death, doesn't mean you'd be showing him mercy. You still would have done the same thing Starscream did, so why should I think any differently of you?"

Admittedly, Dreadwing did not know how to answer this question, for he knew Arcee was right. He knew that with them wanting to know the location of the Autobot base, only having one of the two Autobots alive would have been necessary, so it was obvious that while his death would have been more peaceful, either he or Skyquake would have killed Cliffjumper without a second thought.

"Just don't talk. After watching my own partner die before me, the last thing I wanna hear right now is any Decepticon trying to act high and heroic after what you just allowed to happen", Arcee said, clearly giving the cold shoulder.

"Understood", Dreadwing replied, respecting her wish, even though they were both mortal enemies.

Soon enough, Dreadwing and Arcee finally reached the cell that would hold her, which was guarded by two Vehicon soldiers, along with a door that required a Decepticon handprint to enter. With Dreadwing placing his hand on the pad, the door opened and he then forcefully shoved Arcee into the prison. Under normal circumstances, Arcee would have fought back, but in her weakened condition, there was no way she would stand a chance against Dreadwing and the two Vehicons, along with other Vehicons that could hear the commotion. Heck, even on one of her good days, she probably could not best Dreadwing alone in a fight.

"You will stay here until your fate is determined", Dreadwing said. "While I can understand your frustration, you will take comfort in the fact that if you are sentenced to death, then it will be quick and painless, unlike the unfortunate tragedy of your partner".

"I said I didn't want to hear anything you have to say!", Arcee shouted. It was obvious she was still traumatized over what happened with Cliffjumper.

Understanding this, Dreadwing pressed the pad again with his hand, causing the door to the prison to close and locking Arcee inside of it before walking away from the two Vehicons guarding the door.

Within the walls of the prison, Arcee sat down on the floor and clasped her head with both her hands, still grappling with everything she had just witnessed. Even though Cybertronians were incapable of crying like humans are, it was safe to say that if Arcee was human, or if Cybertronians were capable of crying, then tears would be pouring down her face right now.

"Cliffjumper…I'm sorry…", she whimpered to herself as she wallowed in the empty prison cell.

Back on the Nemesis, Starscream still stood at the forefront of the bridge, where he was approached from behind by Soundwave, who still bore his reputation as a creepy individual with his vow of silence and the visor that made up his face.

"Soundwave!", Starscream reacted, as Soundwave unintentionally snuck up on him. "What is it…?"

In response, Soundwave showed on his visor an image of the newly constructed Space Bridge the Decepticons built on the dark side of Earth's moon, along with an indicator that had a picture of Megatron's mugshot on it. It was obvious what Soundwave was trying to communicate.

"Well then, by all means…activate the Space Bridge!", Starscream declared.

Soundwave gave a simple nod in response before tapping into the Space Bridge and activating it to converge on Megatron's location in the far reaches of space. With the Space Bridge now opened, out of it and into Earth's atmosphere flew Megatron in his Cybertronian jet mode, where he transformed into his robot mode with him levitating in the zero gravity of space.

"Decepticons!", Megatron declared. "I have returned…!"

At long last, after three years, the time for Megatron to return has come, and with him most likely having found some sort of new army for the Decepticons to finally rule over Earth, the leader of the Decepticons was ready to lead his people into war and domination once again!
