Today was a regular routine for the citizens of monstapolis. Monsters getting their kids to school and head to work. A blue furred monster with a long mustache came out of a house giving another monster with neon green scales with long wavy brown hair and three eyes a peck then drove to work. A twenty minute drive and five minute parking the monster went inside a factory with a logo of an M and an eye in the center. "Good morning Earl. How's the Mrs. Doing?" Said blue scaled monster with spikes and tentacles. "She doing fine Frank just thinking about having a monster of our own." Said Earl. Frank patted him on the shoulder smiling. "Hey give her time. Besides having a little Thompson of your own. Now come on we need to test a few doors that MU students brought over." He said pulling Earl with him to the scare floor. "Ok everyone get to your stations. We got thirty seconds." Said a monster with an eyeball and three legs. Frank, Earl, and other scarers were ready to do their job. The buzzer went off and the monsters enters the doors. Earl stepped inside and quietly closed the door turning around to expect a kids room but to find some sort of experiment lab. He looked around the room to find a child then heard a faint whimpering coming from a covered cage at the corner near the window. "Must be an animal having a nightmare." he whispered to himself then heard a girl crying softly. Walking towards the cage slowly and checked the floor to see anything that can make a noise and lifted the blanket off. Earl gasped then closed his mouth and checked the door the see anyone coming.
He sighed in relief and looked inside the cage to see a six-year-old girl with light green scales, red hair, two tiny bumps forming on her back, had a tail, ears, and a nose of a wolf with band aids on her arms and smeared blood all around her body. The girl shivered a little and woke up to see Earl. She tilted her head a little,"Did they do that to you too?" Said the girl. "Is that what they did to you?" Said Earl. The girl nodded then her left ear twitched and panic a little. "They're coming for me." She whispered backing away with tears forming until Earl stopped her. "Come with me before 'they' get here." He said grabbed her quickly, opened the window and moved the blanket a little.
Earl took the little girl into his arms and quickly went to the closet. "What took you so long Earl?" Said Frank then saw the girl in his arms. "Who's this?"he says. "I'm experiment 8716." She said looking Frank with her blue eyes. He was confused then looked at the door where Earl came from. "Ill go get the door shredder and first aid." He says looking at Earl and patted him on the back then left. "Are 'they' going hurt me?" Said the girl looking at the door and up at Earl. "No because 'they' can't get through here. Now lets get you cleaned up." He says walking to the restrooms with the girl in his arms and placed her on the counter.
'What am I going to do? Should I call the PCA to take care her?' He thought while wetting a paper towel and wiping away the dried blood. Earl took the bandages off the little girl," do you have a name?" Said Earl. She shook her head. "How about Valerie?" He said dabbing the alcohol on her wounds while Frank wrapped the new bandage around her arms."Yeah I like that name." Said the girl holding out her as Frank clipped the bandage. "There your done. Now come with me." Said Earl putting the girl down and held her tiny hand walking down he hall to the scare floor. He put Valerie on the chair at his station, "Stay here Valerie. I need to work and after this we're going home." Said Earl getting into his scaring position and saw Frank next to him.
"You're going to take her." Said frank. "Yeah, besides I think Amy is going love Valerie." Said Earl. The buzzer went off and the two started their job while Valerie watched. After two hours of seeing him and Frank work behind multiple in different designs and colors made her wondering about her new life ahead. "Hello little one. What are you doing here?" Said deep voice. Valerie was snapped back from her thoughts that she didn't realize a spider-crab monster with brown hair was coming towards her. "H-hi, Mister I'm Valerie and the blue monster told sit here while he works." She said then saw Earl getting out of the black door.
"Ah, Thompson I'm glad you're here. Can you explain to be about this child doing here?" Said the Spider-crab. "Well Mr. Waternoose I found her in the human world and doesn't have anyone else." Said Earl. "Hm well I'll go call the PCA ab-" "Mr. Waternoose I want to be her guardian and I know it seems like a big responsibility. But if PCA takes her away she'll get even more terrified after what those humans did to her." Earl interrupted crossing his arms. "I'll see to it when they arrive. Goodbye Thompson, Valerie." Said Waternoose then left to his office. "What's the PCA?" Said Valerie looking up at Earl. "They're monsters who help us that's all." Said Earl. "Oh, ok but are you really going to be my daddy?" Said Valerie with hope in her bio color eyes. "We have to wait and see." Said Earl smiling.
