Atlas soldiers rushed into the arena, "Back away Miss! He might still be dangerous!" One of them said to Yang, motioning for her to back away from Mercury and his detached bionic leg. She nodded, taking a few slow steps backwards as she watched the soldiers and Atlesian Knights approach Mercury's prone body.

"Calm down kid, the fight's over," one of the soldiers approached Mercury with his hand out, slowly making their way towards the kid, "We're not going to hurt you, we're just here to make sure you don't lash out again okay?"

Mercury clutched his stump, where his leg used to be, the soldier turned to the entrance way of the arena, where paramedics began to run in, "Get this boy to a hospital! Or er… uh…" he glanced at the severed leg, "A mechanic? Doesn't matter; just get someone who knows how to deal with prosthetics!"

"A sudden detachment like that could've pulled some flesh out as well," one of the paramedics said as they loaded the boy onto a stretcher, "Nothing too crazy, we should be thankful that it was just a prosthetic," the paramedic turned to Yang, "And you, young lady! While I won't reprimand you on defending yourself, try to at the very least regulate your power! Subdue him, not rip his legs off!"

"I- I understand, I'm sorry…" Yang looked down in shame.

The two paramedics began carrying Mercury out of the arena, one of them sighed, "What a shitshow, huh?" Emerald then ran alongside the two paramedics, putting on her best 'hysterical woman' act as she grabbed onto Mercury's hand.

"Don't worry, he'll be safe in our hands," one of the paramedics said, Emerald shook her head vigorously, "Oh, alright then, kids nowadays…"

A woman wearing the same outfit as the paramedics waved to them inside a bullhead, "Hey! Over here! We have an ambulance ready!" The paramedics loaded Mercury into the bullhead, with Emerald following the boy, "You're quick with the bullhead aren't ya?" the paramedic smirked, "The girl wouldn't leave the boy's side though, hope the kid will be okay."

"Don't worry," the woman said, "We'll take good care of them."

The transport began taking off, the door closing as it lifted off the ground and flew away. The two paramedics pulled their mask down, one of them taking out their Scrolls, dialling a number, "Sir, this is Mint, the tracker's been placed on the boy.

"I'm surprised that you two did that so quickly," Acting Commander Courrier's voice played through the Scroll's speakers, "Can't believe I have a pair of masters of disguise on my team! I'm impressed!"

The other paramedic chuckled, "I'm flattered, sir," she turned her head back towards the arena; "Although most of the work has to be attributed to you sir, what with the soldiers looking the other way and all that," the paramedic scratched behind her ear, "Although… I don't really see why that boy was so important."

"Don't think too much about that," Acting Commander Courrier said, waving a dismissive hand, "What's important is that you two did your job perfectly, good work."

The Acting Commander then hung up; Mint clenched his fist and spoke out in adoration, "What a great man!"

"Truly…" a tear rolled down the other paramedic's cheek, "We're all here, alive, and not caught thanks to him! Let's not let our Acting Commander down!"

"Hell yeah! High-five!"

Back on the bullhead, the woman dressed like a paramedic was revealed to be Cinder all along! No way!

Cinder glared at the two failures in front of her, one was too tired to speak while the other was crippled. She sighed, "What the fuck was that? Emerald?"

"Lady Cinder I- My Semblance didn't work…" Emerald looked away, Mercury groaned as he clutched his stump, "I- I'm sorry…"

"Tch," Cinder turned away, walking towards the cockpit and sitting down on the second pilot's seat. The pilot, Neo, glanced at her before quickly turning her eyes back on the sky.

Cinder placed a hand on her chin, so Illusion Semblances and other Auditory or Visual Hallucination Semblances doesn't work on Courrier, nor does it work on anybody with that man's bullet necklace. That Greenhorn woman knocked Emerald out of her Semblance in three hits, and Xiao Long did something in order to negate Emerald's Semblance completely, but what…

"L- Lady Cinder, I might have an idea as to why…" Emerald approached Cinder warily, eyes constantly glancing at Mercury, "I- I know I activated my Semblance but for some reason it didn't work… A few seconds after I realized this I was confronted by that Greenhorn woman…"

Greenhorn was there? Assuming that that woman also has a bullet necklace then… Whatever the hell Courrier's bullet necklace is, it must somehow negate Semblances when in close proximity. Cinder watched all the sparring matches the Beacon students took with Courrier, all of the students with some kind of Distraction or Hallucination Semblances found themselves knocked out of their Semblance in one hit, one lucky hit… too lucky…

She needed to get her hands on one of those bullet necklaces, she has to. For her Mistress' plans…

Several hours before the singles bracket, just after the Courier's meeting with Ozpin's little dinner club regarding Pyrrha and the Fall Maiden, the Courier was faced with a surprising sight. Two White Fang goons dressed in casual clothing, standing there waiting for him.

"Hey boss," Mint Thresh, one of the White Fang goons on the Mountain Glenn train plan, whose name was the first one that the Courier remembered because of how funny it was, waved at the Courier, "It's good to see you. My name's Mint, that's Johan."

The Courier waved back; "White Fang, I presume?" they nodded, "What're you doing here?" he watched as a few civilian bullheads take off in the direction of Mistral, Adam was probably on one of those, "Not going to evacuate with the rest?"

"Why would we do that, sir?" The girl, Johan Violet if the Courier's memory was correct, grinned, "We want to help you; the thought of just leaving you here alone with Greenhorn just doesn't sit right with us."

"So you want to help me then?" they both nodded, "Did Adam set you up on this?"

"No sir, this was our decision through and through," Mint smiled, "Think of us as just support for you sir, Adam told us that shit's going to hit the fan soon and that we need to evacuate before it did, but I didn't notice you around anywhere."

Johan nodded, "After what you did to the train plan back in Mountain Glenn? Changing the plan so that White Fang lives are saved? You're a hero to us sir, and to the White Fang too."

The both saluted him, "We'll be there if you need us sir!"

The Courier, while taken aback, grinned, "Well I'll be damned! Never thought you people actually cared that much about me," he motioned for the two to follow him, "Guess I'll have to make modifications to my plan then, since I wasn't expecting you two to just show up out of the blue like that."

"Where are we going?" Johan shoved her hands into her pocket, gingerly following him to the old White Fang hideout that he had that conversation with Adam before the doubles bracket.

"To an old White Fang hideout, Lavs' there waiting for us. Let's get a move on before she gets impatient," the three quickly jogged their way to the abandoned building that Adam sent him the address to before, the three slowly made their way through the building, climbing down into the basement and into a dimly lit room, there, Lavs sat in front of a table with the map of Vale sprawled over it.

"Who the hell?" Lavs pulled out her switchblade and pointed it at Mint and Johan, her eyes widened before she dropped her stance, "Thresh? Violet? What the fuck?"

"Hey Greenhorn, nice seeing you too," Mint smirked, "Still walking around with that switchblade I see, although after seeing your 'exhibition' match with those two kids… Well, let's just say I don't wanna mess with you anymore."

"Alright, all of you, have a seat," the Courier watched as the White Fang goons pulled out chairs and sat down, Lavs glared at the two of the intensely all the while, "Now, as all of you know, I am a part of the Beacon faculty," the all nodded, "Good, as such, Ozpin already has a plan to deal with the problem that got Adam evacuating out of Vale."

The Courier placed a bullet on the table, directly on top of Beacon on the map, "A woman named Cinder Fall is looking to do… something with Vale, we don't really know yet," the Courier glanced at all three of them, Lavs was listening intently, so was Johan and Mint, "Now, since Ozpin and I have… disagreements in our way of handling things, I have made my own plans."

"Unlike his ancient ass, I know what's best for this city. Hell; I know what's best for Remnant period! So here's where the problems start popping up in our differing philosophies…"

"Ozpin wants this woman brought back alive for questioning," he pushed up his Lucky Shades, feeling the effects of Mentats coursing through his body as his mind runs a mile a minute, "I want this bitch dead and gone, and here's how we're going to do it…"

The Courier waltzed right back into Beacon Academy with a smile on his face, seeing Sustrai run like that made his day, seeing Black get his ass beaten like that made his whole damn year! "Hey Qrow," the Courier waved at the bird man, "Where're you going?"

"To Yang's dorm," he sighed, taking a sip out of his flask, "Kid must be really torn up about this whole thing, not every day you pull someone's leg out of their sockets."

"Yeah, I can see how that's distressing to someone who's not me."

Qrow did a double take, "Did you-? Y'know what? Nevermind."

Qrow kicked open the doors to RWBY's dorm room and walked in like he owned the place, Xiao Long was sitting on her bed with a weird expression on her face, "Hey firecracker, why'd you pull that kid's leg off?"

"You're always so blunt…" she let out a weak chuckle, pointing a finger at the Courier, "And what's he doing here?"

"Getting my necklace back," the Courier held out a hand, "Gimme."

Xiao Long tossed the bullet on a string back to the Courier, he shoved it into his pockets, "What's the deal with that thing?" she asked, resting her head on her palms, "The whole bullet-covered-with-blood-on-a-string thing…"

"Oh that, I used to have two bullets in my head so I got the local doctor to yank them out, I then asked him to give them to me as mementos and then I made them into necklaces for fun!" the Courier gave Xiao Long a thumbs up, "Oh, and that whole 'dismembering your opponent on live television thing'? Don't sweat it; the people know you did it in self-defence."

"I know but it doesn't make me feel any less terrible about it!" she buried her face in her hands, Qrow patted her on the back, "Gods, I know it was a prosthetic but there was blood and- and the knowledge that I just fucking crippled somebody- I- I don't know if I can keep doing this!"

"Hey, remember what I said about 'perceiving your enemy'?" the Courier asked Xiao Long, who nodded slowly, "Don't see your opponent as a person, see them as a roadblock, an obstacle for you to overcome," Qrow raised an eyebrow, "Never respect your opponent, but don't be overconfident either. Do you respect a roadblock? Do you boast your strength to a speedbump? No, no you don't, and that's what you should think about your opponents too."

Qrow scoffed, "That's your philosophy? Sounds barbaric too me, what are you, a tribal?"

"I'm not here to debate philosophy with you too, Qrow, I've had enough of that back home," the Courier sighed, turning back to Xiao Long, who looked up at him with wide eyes, "Never see your enemy as people, never feel for them, never empathize with them. They chose to go against you, and no manner of sad backstory or trauma is going to excuse their actions."

He then laughed, "Well, if I followed my own advice then I'm a hypocrite! Some of my friends tried to kill me once but they came around soon enough," the Courier turned to Xiao Long, "This mindset I just told you, only follow through once you know someone's beyond redemption, like the occasional raider or truly evil people."

"Some people deserve second chances. While others have gone too far, and so their only redemption is death."

To the guy in the reviews talking about how he can't comprehend how I update so frequently, yeah me neither.

luckyluke11032002: The Courier's Luck only benefits himself and whoever he gives those necklaces to. It's not like Qrow's Misfortune where he has this literal aura of bad luck around him that affects other people. The Courier's only benefits himself, because for a man whose entire ideology is to be selfish and independent, having a power that only benefits him is very fitting.
