"The Only Thing That Matters"
Tori is in a car accident on her way home, and while Tori is upset about having wrecked Jade's car, Jade's only concern is the one who is truly precious to her.
A/N: Hey, is it still a prompt if it's from me? Well, it's my fic and my rules, so I say yes…lol. Anyway, this is another Jori hurt/comfort fic, and I hope you enjoy!
Movie night has come to Tori and Jade's home, and Tori has volunteered to pick up the food. She currently has a large, cheese pizza, a bag of chips, and candy on the front seat of Jade's car. Tori was apprehensive at first because Jade loves this car, but she is also honored that her wife let her borrow her '78 Chevy Monte Carlo. It is a beautiful, black hot rod, with only one prior owner, that Jade has saved up a long time for. This car is one Jade has dreamed of owning since she was thirteen, and she couldn't wait to get her license just to drive one of these cars, let alone own one. Tori considered it an incredible privilege to be allowed to drive such a beloved vehicle. As she loads the food onto the front seat, Tori calls Jade to let her know she's on her way.
"Hey, I just picked up the pizza. I'll be home in a few minutes."
"Okay, you remembered to put a towel down under the pizza, right?" Jade asked.
"Yes I did. Not to worry, your seats will be as pristine as they were before."
"And, I intend to keep them that way. I have an appointment to have it detailed next week."
"I promise, the seats are safe from pizza grease. Anyway, I'll be home soon. I'll see you when I get there."
Tori hung up, and pulled out of the parking lot, starting to head home. Soon she would get to spend the evening with her wife, enjoying pizza, and a funny movie this time. One of Tori's favorites, "Happy Gilmore". Jade did love a good horror movie, but she also loved watching comedy movies with Tori, and getting some good recommendations in the process. The last movie was really good, so Jade figured she'd let her wife pick something again.
Tori only has a little ways left to go, and has been being super careful, but when she passes through the next green light, a loud crash sends Tori clear across the street. Tori sits in the driver's seat in a haze and shaking terribly, before realizing that Jade's beautiful, old car has been hit. The car was t-boned at the front on Tori's side, and the body has been completely smashed in. The driver of the van that hit her is passed out behind the wheel, and Tori sits there looking at the damage in front of her, covering her face as she starts to cry. As far as Tori can tell she is okay, but she is still in shock. She reaches for her phone to call 911, and they assure her that help is on the way. Tori couldn't believe this happened after she had been so careful. Jade trusted her with something she's always dreamed of having, and has spent so much time working hard and putting money away to have the car she's always wanted. It was now a pile of wrecked metal, and Tori feared Jade would never forgive her.
It wasn't long before Tori saw flashing lights, and the police and an ambulance pulled up behind her. Two people from the ambulance went to assist the passed out driver of the van, while a female police officer came to check on Tori. Tori had to push on the door, but she managed to open it, and the officer urged her to stay seated. She introduced herself as Officer Reyes, and knelt down in front of Tori.
"Are you okay?"
"I think so." Tori answered.
"Okay, well we're going to have paramedics check you out to make sure. Is there someone I can call for you?" Officer Reyes asked.
"My wife is at home. She's waiting for me."
"Alright, I'll call her."
The officer takes Tori's license and registration, and a paramedic walks over as Tori starts to cry again.
"I wrecked my wife's car. She's going to be heartbroken." Tori cried.
"It's okay, Sweetie. As long as you're okay." Officer Reyes assured her.
The paramedic checks Tori's neck and shoulders, shines a light in her eyes to see that they are responsive, and checks on her arms and legs. Tori confirms that she isn't in any pain, just shaken up. The paramedic wraps a blanket around Tori, and walks her over to sit in the back of Officer Reyes's car. She is walking okay, and maintaining her balance, so they feel confident that Tori will be okay to go home. Officer Reyes comes back to tell Tori that Jade is on her way, and she hands her a bottle of water. The ambulance leaves to take the other driver to the hospital, and within ten minutes, Tori sees Jade hop out of her mother's car.
"Tori." Jade calls out, as she hurries over to her wife.
Tori stands to meet her with tears streaming down her face.
"Jade, I'm so sorry. I really tried to be careful, I swear."
Before Tori could say anymore, Jade wrapped her arms around her wife, laying a kiss on her cheek. Tori hugs Jade tight while crying on her shoulder. Jade keeps kissing Tori's cheek and her temple, before pulling back to get a better look at her.
"Baby, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. The car is not." Tori sniffles.
Jade cups Tori's face in order to meet her eyes.
"I'm not worried about the car, Tori. You're the one thing that matters most to me in the world, and I could never bear to lose you."
The two of them hug each other tight, and Tori finally starts to settle down. She relaxes into Jade while her wife peppers kisses on the side of her head.
"I didn't mean for this to happen. I tried so hard to be careful." Tori explained.
"I know you did, Honey. We'll figure the whole car thing out later. Right now let's just get you home to rest."
Tori was cleared to go, and Jade helped her in the car to head back home. Jade and Tori held hands the whole way, and Tori just wanted to forget this night ever happened. Jade kept kissing her hand, and telling Tori she loves her as much as she could. When they finally got home, Jade walked Tori inside, and the two of them got ready for bed. Jade slipped under the covers, taking Tori in her arms, and holding her close. Tori leans into her wife, as Jade kisses her shoulder.
"I'm so glad you're okay. I was so scared that you were hurt." Jade whispered.
"I'm glad I have you. I love you so much."
"I love you too, Baby."
Jade kisses Tori once more before they hold each other close, and fall asleep in each other's arms.
