Reaper of Rome chapter 29 – lost and found

This chapter will cover what happens when Ichigo and Rukia return to camp Jupiter but in the middle of chaos

This will start ichigo's story in the heroes of Olympus arc

This covers the lost hero and son of Neptune stories from ichigo's pov

Ichigo pov

As we woke up, Rukia asked me "so do you have any of your soul reaper powers?" I replied, "for now they are completely gone, but I can still vaguely see ghosts and use all of my demigod powers." she replied "that's better than nothing. It sounded like the situation was likely getting worse. The last word from my captain was, that something is wrong with there are issues with the roman afterlife, but he isn't clear what." I said "wait to fill me in to anything else until we get to camp. Reyna will want anything you can give her."

After that we went through the gate only to hear the noises of people making love coming from two different rooms and then Rukia told me, "I will figure out who that is and give them cold showers." Then make them get dressed and explain themselves, its likely our friends but they need learn not do that in our house without telling anyone."

I then looked around the house to try and find Tsugumi and tried to yell over the shouting but couldn't find her. It was when I went onto the porch, I confirmed Jolyne was with Narciso and Suletta was with a boy and a girl that had to be her fiancés. The girl told me, the two groups made her so uncomfortable she had to wait outside. I promised the girl, "I will make sure my friends won't bully you out of the house ever again." part of me felt, it might not have to worry about space or noise in my house, but I wasn't sure exactly how or if some god was sending me a vision or not. But I would have to see and figure out what it meant.

It wasn't that much longer, that Rukia opened the door and said, "the happy couples should be dressed by now and ready to say sorry." It wasn't long the five did as they said and I asked, "so do you have any updates before I talk to Reyna formally?" Suletta said "I am making good progress with imperial gold production, but it might not be enough if there is a major attack on the camp and none of my brothers or sisters can really help. I think I could be the only person blessed to be able to carry out the process this in the Americas." After that, we had to kick Suletta's lovers out of the house as Jolyne revealed, somebody recently freed the wolf house, and we can get more recruits. There are guesses it could be Jason, but we can't be sure. There are no real records of other children of Jupiter or legacies of Jupiter that could have helped, just a lightning strike visual from camp." I then said "that should be helpful at least.

After that Rukia and I talked to Renya and updated her with how I lost my soul reaper powers as she revealed the fact that there seemed to be an issue with monsters coming back way too soon. after that she told me the same things Jolyne did and then I told her, "Your mother had a son in Japan and he is coming to camp, he is a year longer that you, but I will leave the rest as a surprise." She replied, "so my sister and I have a little brother?" I just replied "younger and the rest you have to see yourself. He met and was healed by his mother and has been a good friend of mine for years. I expect Lupa to have him prepared in a week, and since he left a day ahead of Rukia and I, expect him in a week." Renya looked at me in shock and said Lupa normally takes a month to turn new recruits around at minimum, what makes you think a week?" I replied, "he has survived through three warzones in my party, so he should be cleared by Lupa fast."

After that, I told the praetor about Rukia and my engagement and got a congratulations but part of her looked sad as I said, "what Venus told you wasn't very good?" she replied, "I won't repeat her words, but it was troubling for sure." After that I updated her on Suletta and her production of gold for weapons was decent but might not be enough, she sighed and said, "its better that nothing, I just hope we have time before our enemies decide to attack in force."

After that, I trained with my powers and basic enhanced abilities until a week passed and when had arrived Renya was shocked to see how much taller Chad was than her and said, "he isn't much of a little brother." A little after that another girl arrived and she seemed like a person from a different time, but both proved themselves as full legion members in a very short time and joined the rest of the legion with Chad joining the sixth cohort with me.

It was a few months later that a large Chinese boy joined up, he was as clumsy as he was large and even in a month had yet to be claimed by his divine parent or ancestor. The boy's name was Frank, and he could only guess his divine parent as Apollo, due to him being a decent archer. The girl that came before him was named Hazel and her divine parent was Pluto. Her gifts included mastery of precious minerals, but it seemed to come with curses as much as gifts.

But after another week another demigod came and with him came both a change and a treat. His aura felt strangely familiar and strangely powerful. The boy's name was Percy Jackson and he seemed to be a year older than I was. With him came a horde of monsters and the goddess Juno. Then was revealed to be the son of Neptune. Before I could sponsor and claim Percy to the sixth cohort. Hazel did it for me and claimed him to the fifth cohort.

One thing that surprised me Renya about her brother Chad was the power in his two arms. The power of the giant in one and devil in the other amazed many members of the camp and could hurt monsters just as well as divine metals. On the point of divine metals, it was about a day after I got to camp, that a package arrived to me of a katana made of moon silver that was a gift from my mother. She clearly knew I could use a weapon to battle a defend myself with.

It was shortly after Percy was accepted in, he had to meet the crazy and skinny augur a man that could give strange predictions from looking at stuffed animals he gutted. A copy of the plush Kon's mod soul used told the boy, I would get my powers back in time to bring down a treat to Rome. But his predictions were super iffy and hard to tell when.

On the side of my house, Rukia was only able to spend a few days before having to return and aid in the clean up of the soul society. She would come from time to time with updates. With the largest revealing that the Vizards returned to their original posts. Around one of those visits from Rukia, we met a boy that she could tell was the son of Pluto and he could tell she was a soul reaper, and I was a former soul reaper. Like many that visited our house he was surprised by the giant rabbit. His name was Nico and he clearly wanted to help his sister. But Nico, unlike Hazel seemed more used to the modern world but still held a little of the boy out of time thing that Hazel did. One thing Nico really liked was my novel collection.

I had collected many novels including fantasy novels with one that I had to give burn at the temple of Vesta being called "its it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon," both the goddess and her priestesses loved the series because it brought light to their goddess. The women would ask me to spread the novels as much as a could to give their goddess higher status. The novels themselves were mostly trashy harem stuff, but it was more the fact they would show various gods in different lights that many around camp loved. When I told Percy about the books, the fact the series' version of his father wasn't within the series just made him slightly sad.

It a day later came the war games and a chance for Chad to further show off while I could show what my sword could do. Rukia would watch the games to see what I could do, but without my former powers, I wasn't as showy as I could be. After my first slip up in a war game, I started to learn to use magic but without a real teacher it was progressing slowly, and I could just mess with mist.

In the current game, Percy, Hazel and Frank made the biggest showing and showing brought the god of war Mars himself out to praise Percy and reveal himself as Frank's father. Then the god revealed the Greco-Roman version of the soul reaper Thanatos was captured in Alaska and Percy and Frank would have to go on a quest to free the god and come back the camp in a few days or it would be destroyed.

After that, Percy, Frank and Hazel were set on their journey to Alaska as the rest of us hoped they could get back in time. But little did I know, the gods had a task for me as well. It was not an hour after Percy left, his father arrived at camp with a much better prophecy than Mars that would send my team on a race to discover the true motives behind Gaia's rise. The god sent Chad on a Pegasus to Indianapolis to meet up with the others later. While the teams of Jolyne and I and Suletta and Narciso would each ride a horse in a race known as the Steel ball run.

When I asked the god, "why didn't you use your son for this quest?" he replied "my son has a different mission as part of the seven. But you have a fate tied to a problem for humanity as a whole. Somebody has triggered events that could spell the end. This race is full of people from all corners of the moonlit world and the seven top riders get the chance to compete for an ultimate prize. But the problem is two giants are involved in this race and it will likely cross reams of monsters beyond the scope of the roman gods." With that he teleported us to the place the race would start, and we noticed over two hundred other riders in this race.

We each checked out supplies to find weapons, food and other gear to aid us in the race, along with some treasures I had collected on intel missions to try and locate other demigods that would fit into the camp. Among the stuff was my silver sword, a silver knife and an old rifle with strange bullets.

Then I further checked to see a note saying "each of the bullets can kill different monsters then, it went into the monsters the bullets were designed to kill. Then the next part of the note told us to stop at Indianapolis and after that Clarksdale, Mississippi would be the next place we needed to stop before our final destination. Then Jolyne went through her bag to find an arrowhead and a note from her father saying, "use this arrow on yourself and your friends other than Ichigo and then destroy it. said arrow will grant you gifts to survive on the path to uncover what is happening." With that we lined up our horses as the race was about to begin.

But first issei will see the two phoenix peerages clash and learn the befits of his new gifts
