The day was cozy with the sweet wind blowing through the fallen leaves in the village of Konoha. The villagers were engaged in their normal activities, shopkeepers running their stores, couples having fun, shinobi hopping on the roofs, kids playing and causing mischief. All and all people were enjoying their first peaceful autumn since the end of third shinobi war. The war has ended at the start of the year after a ceasefire due to their village's latest sensation Minato Namikaze.
The man has after all single handedly changed the outcome of the war. Konoha was facing battle on two fronts both from Iwa and Kumo, and with the death Sakumo Hatake, Senju Clan and the destruction of Ushio in the last war, Konoha was getting overwhelmed from the combined might of two great villages. Iwa and Kumo formed a war pact against capitalizing on the fact that Suna and Kiri were on war at each other due to Kiri being blamed for the kidnapping and death of Third Kazekage which started the war. The villages put their own grudges aside to focus on the bigger grudge they had against Konoha.
The army of two great villages with four jinchuriki, monsters such as Akatsuchi, A-IV, Darui of the Black Lightning and many more led by their legendary Kages in Onoki of the Dust Release and A-III were too much for Konoha alone. That was until one man arrived Namikaze Minato with his Hirashin, a space-time jutsu that allowed him to teleport which he used to single-handedly annihilate more than 1000 Iwa shinobi at once and countless more here and there, that was enough for an Iwa ceasefire. Kumo's surrender came after the defeat of the dynamic duo of A-IV and Killer Bee by Minato's hands, making him a household legend in the whole Fire Nation and monster in the Earth and the Lightning countries.
Talking about the Minato, he was having his best year. The war has ended due to his efforts at the start of year which already was mark of a great year. But it just kept getting better and better as next month his girlfriend told him she was pregnant. He was going to be a father, as an orphan he has always dreamt of having a family. Now the love of his life has made that dream complete. They weren't married at that time which Minato rectified soon as he married her in the spring with their closest friends. His fame has made it difficult to be small affair but they managed it with some favours.
His year had already been peaked, which if it was possible was improved by fulfilling of his other dream in the summer. The Third Hokage has retired and chosen him his successor. Being Hokage was his dream when he entered academy like countless other Konoha children every year. To be able to complete that made him really grateful. And now the day of his child's birth has arrived. They had already found that they are having a baby boy. Minato was very excited to teach him how to throw kunai, ninjutsu, fuinjutsu, to play with him and much more. He just couldn't wait.
Minato's daydream was ended by an ANBU's arrival. "Lord Fourth, Lady Kushina's water broke. She is being taken to the birth site" spoke Dog or Minato's last student. "Thanks Dog, I am leaving. Tell Lord Third he is in charge". With that Minato teleported. Kushina's pregnancy wasn't normal as she was the jinchuriki of Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. When a female jinchuriki is pregnant there is a chance of escape at the time of childbirth. Due to which Kushina's delivery was secret outside the village with squad of ANBU, a medic and Lord Third's wife to deliver the baby. "Minato, I am gonna fucking kill you" was the words which greeted Minato at his arrival.
"Hi, Honey" Minato nervously muttered "Hi, my ass you can say goodbye to your manhood tonight" was the reply he got from his wife. "Just hold on Lady Kushina, Lady Biwako is on her way" Taji the ANBU medic replied. "You try to hold on when a fucking watermelon wants to come out of you" Kushina hissed "Lady Biwako, thanks for your arrival" Minato exclaimed never happier to see the woman. "Be ready Fourth, Kushina we are gonna start the delivery" without any greeting the woman went straight to work.
"MIINNNAATOO you are DEEAAAD" "Is she alright, she looks in a lot of pain" Minato said with worry as he tried to supress Kyuubi's chakra "You just keep doing your job, she can take it. Woman are lot stronger than men. Push Kushina you can do it" Biwako shut him down. Soon, the baby's cries were heard loudly announcing his arrival to world. Kushina finally relieved while Minato had tears in his eyes as he has never a more beautiful cry. His baby boy was born. "Taji, take the baby and clean him. Fourth seal the FOX" Biwako ordered "Congrats Kushina you did it, you are mom now." Minato congratulated as he was about finalize the seal, he heard Taji dropping on the ground. "Fourth Hokage step away from the jinchuriki or your child dies"
Minato turned around to see Taji dead on the ground and masked man dressed in a black cloak holding a kunai on his child's head. His lone sharingan eye stared at Minato with menace and hate. "Uchiha, rouge or betrayal. But how ANBU would have alerted a breach in barrier" Minato thought. "Calm down, there is no need to be hasty" Minato fretted "I am perfectly calm Fourth, it's you who is trembling. Step away" was the masked intruder's reply. "Very well" with that masked man threw his son wrapped in paper bombs. "NARRUUTOO" before Kushina's scream ended Minato was on Naruto catching him and throwing the bombed-blanket and teleporting back to his home. Minato put Naruto in his crib. "Sorry baby, dad has to go save mom. Will be back in a few minutes." With that Minato kissed his son's forehead before teleporting again, leaving the crying child.
During the time Minato was saving Naruto. The masked intruder wrapped himself in a portal originating from his before appearing behind Biwako killing her with kunai on neck. "Hello Kyuubi, it's time to come out" The masked man said before sharingan spun as he put Kushina and helped Kyuubi to escape. Kyuubi's mighty roar heard around the forest as the demon was extracted from its sacrifice.
"Your kin dare to use those eyes against me again UCHIHA" roared Kyuubi. "A pet doesn't ask questions; it only serves it's master" replied the masked Uchiha before putting the fox in a genjutsu. That was the scene on which Minato arrived. "For the fastest man in the world, you are pretty slow Fourth"
The masked Uchiha taunted. "What will it be this time me, or your wife" the intruder asked. He was met by Minato's kunai with flash behind it. To Minato's surprise both his kunai and he phased through the Uchiha without any harm. Although stunned Minato didn't waste a second grabbing Kushina and teleporting to his home. He put Kushina with Naruto in the crib. "Don't worry honey. I will be back" Minato went and put on his Hokage cloak and used that moment to gather nature's chakra not enough to fight but enough to located his enemy.
Again, during Minato's departure, the masked man utilized that time to unleash Kyuubi on the Hidden Leaf. The people of hidden leaf were enjoying their peaceful evening before everything went to hell. It started with an oppressive chakra leaking in air. The chakra was so foul and strong some kids and elderly passed just from its presence. The shinobi had bad feeling about this. "Please, let this isn't be what I am thinking" exclaimed Mikoto Uchiha, the head Uchiha Clan rocking her youngest son.
Her prayers weren't heard as everybody got their answer with the Nine-Tails appearing in between the village. "RAAAAHHHHHHH" the beast roared before slamming his paw on the market its tails destroying everything in its path. The Uchiha Police Force tried to save as many citizens they can once they absorbed the reality. Same with chunin and jonin on patrol who tried their futile to push back the beast. "Lord Third, the Nine-Tails has broken out" was reported to Hiruzen Sarutobi by the ANBU Turtle. "I can see that, gather every elite unit in the village and put its halt to a stop. Order the Police Force to guide civilians to the safe route. Tell the Clan Heads to join the fight once they have secured their clan members."
With Hiruzen's orders Turtle left to carry out his duties. "Biwako, Minato, Kushina I hope you all are alright" With this last though Hiruzen Sarutobi went ahead to join the battle.
Minato confronted the masked man on the top of Hokage monument sitting on Lord First's Head enjoying the show. Minato went for a punch again phasing through him without touching. "Who are you and what do you want" Minato questioned as he again went for attack again this time going for a left kick from side of the head simultaneously using Wind Style: Air Palm to blast a hole through his opponent's chest. Like his previous attempts everything phased through again.
"You may have heard about me; I am nothing but a forgotten legend. I am Madara Uchiha and what I want is peace" the self-proclaimed Madara exclaimed as he went for left jab right before he tried to thrust a kunai in Minato's left arm. Minato dodged the jab with a head weave while parrying the kunai with his own. "That jab would have hit me, but how is that he can hit me while I can't hit him" was going through Minato's head as he jumped back to dodge a chain coming through the left sleeve of the cloak.
"You expect me to believe that, Madara Uchiha has been dead through decades. Even if he was alive, he would be old as dust. So who are you in reality" Minato demanded as threw a powerful stream of wind from his mouth using Wind Style: Violent Whirlwind, which the Uchiha turned against him with his Fire Style: Great Fireball turning the whole stream into a giant whirlwind of fire. "Fucking Uchiha's" Minato muttered as he used Water Style: Water Wall to protect himself. The two elements collided creating a steam of mist. Minato sensing the Uchiha coming towards him threw his kunai above before teleporting above him again going a palm thrust while simultaneously throwing a kunai towards ready to teleport as is palm again passed through and masked man replied with a right uppercut. "As I was about to teleport his uppercut scratched my chin. Meaning I can touch him, I just have to time right"
Minato planned as he countered the Uchiha's Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet by using Lightning Style: False Darkness, his electric spear not only penetrated the mud bullet but also the dragon firing it. In the exact moment threw a kunai towards masked man, "When you will learn" taunted Madara as he ran towards Minato chain and kunai in hand allowing the kunai to pass through. The moment kunai passed through the head Minato teleported behind ready to strike with a Rasengan, which again passed through. The masked turned using the exact moment capture Minato with chain ready to pierce his heart with kunai. Minato in that millisecond teleported above masked man with the kunai he threw in the distraction of Rasengan to slam the spiralling ball of chakra on the back of his enemy with a contract seal on the back to cut to Uchiha's control over the fox
"Now explain who are you because you aren't Madara." Minato growled. "Splendid, you are truly as bit of a legend as you are made out to be Lord Fourth. Nobody figured my technique ever and it took you few minutes. But whether you believe or not I am Madara. Besides this is the third time I have put in a difficult situation. Try to finish me or save your village"
Madara chuckled. Minato on his words glanced through peripheral vision at Nine-Tails ready to fire a Tailed-Beast Bomb with enough strength to destroy the village. "You might have won the battle Minato but you lost the war" with those words Madara escaped.
During the time Minato was fighting Madara, the shinobi were engaging the Nine-Tails. Fire Style: Frame Dragon Bullet, Fire Style: Pheonix Sage Nail Flower Crimson, Fire style: Flame Whirlwind, Earth Style: Earth Flow Spears, Lightning Style: Thunderbolt, Water Style: Water Colliding Wave, Water Style: Water Dragon, Earth Style: Earth Dragon Bullet. Jutsus were thrown around here there all to no effect. "It's not working" "Monster just tanks everything you throw at it" Shinobi screamed trying to escape the fox's fury to no avail. Suddenly a large black staff slammed on the back of the fox pushing it down.
"It's Lord Third" "What's the situation" Hiruzen asked "Dire, many civilian lives were lost before police force took action. And even than we are only marching towards death" Jackal replied. "Push it back, we can't let it penetrate any further. We have to stall till Minato arrives" "Where is Lord Fourth" A chunin screamed "We don't know, just hope he is alright and arrives in time"
With that Hiruzen halted the fox's charge by trying to sink in mud using Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld other Earth users soon joined in trying to contain it. Hiruzen seeing the help formed a couple of Shadow Clones and create multiple ramparts around the fox using Earth Style: Rampart The clones and Hiruzen then filled the makeshift chamber with water using Water Style: Water Colliding Wave. "Shock it soon". The couple of Lightning users tried to shock the fox using Lightning Style: Electromagnetic Murder but even with massive amount of water it was too weak.
Lightning Release: Heaven's Judgement was yelled as spinning tube of lightning was launched in water before it exploded in a huge burst of electricity. "It's good to see you Mikoto" Hiruzen spoke as he dispelled his clones jumping back from the rampart. "Lord Third where are Kushina and Minato" Mikoto's questioned with worry "We don't know, considering the Nine-Tails is out we shouldn't hope for anything good". Before Mikoto could reply the fox roared breaking the rampart finally escaping its prison.
"We knew it was only to slow it down. Anyone below ANBU run and escape, there is no need to throw your life without any cause" Hiruzen ordered. Most chunin hearing this were relieves although they didn't show it. Some fools and braves tried to protest which was shut down. The fox used it tails to threw rubble on escaping chunin which was cut down by multiple shouts of Eight Trigrams: Air Palm. The Hyuga clan head announced his arrival by pushing the fox with his members. Shadow Possession complete was heard as many Nara's led by Shikaku Nara tried to pull back the fox. Which was then supported by few Akimichi's using their Body Expansion to push back the fox. "It burns" Choza Akimichi muttered as he tried to push back the fox with his clanmates.
The clans who could assist in the fight joining and others like the Yamanaka, Inuzuka and Aburame whose abilities were not suited for this started helping in clear out and escape. Easily reducing there loses. "Lord Third, the fox is being controlled" said Fugaku Uchiha- Mikoto's husband and the head of Uchiha Police force. "What" came multiple shouts from Third, his wife, Hiashi Hyuga the head of Hyuga Clan and many others. "I believe so, I tried supress the fox using Sharingan but it is already in genjutsu much powerful than mine" "Meaning Kushina was attacked at the time. Is Minato fighting the attacker" were thoughts of the Third. "Stronger than yours" Hiashi asked "But who, is there any Uchiha with stronger genjutsu than you" "What do you mean by Uchiha, it could be rouge with a sharingan" Fugaku snarled back. "Enough, no time for arguing" Hiruzen put them to a stop. "There is only man in history I could think of but it's impossible" was the thoughts Third kept in his head.
The moment Minato brokeMadara's hold on the fox. Kyuubi came to his senses "You are not escaping today Uchiha" the fox snarled as slammed the Akimichi by his tails and breaking through Nara's hold by sheer force. The fox then started charging a ball of red-blue chakra condensing it into small orb of purple. "Get back" yelled a new voice of ANBU Commander Lion. "What took so much time" Hiruzen called out "Sorry it's difficult to manage when their no Kage around to help" with that the commander went ahead with three of his sub-ordinates and formed a barrier of purple flames using Four Flame Formation. The barrier didn't do much as the fox fired the ball of chakra towards the Hokage Monument.
There efforts could only to a few seconds as everybody watched in desperation waiting for the destruction of their greatest monument. Those few seconds were all needed by Minato Namikaze to use Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder to erect a barrier space capable of warping away the massive bomb without any damage. The stunned shinobi and the fox soon got answer with a yellow flash and summoning of legendary Gamabunta. Seeing the man standing on the giant-sized toad the shinobi finally took a breath of relief as their hero has joined the battle.
"Minato on what am I standing" "RAAAH" "Nine-Tails, you damn bastard what" The giant amphibian roared. "Sorry Boss, long story but can you please help me immobilize it." "Lord Third, hold on a few minutes more. I have way to end it. Bunta help to push it outside towards the cave." With that Minato flashed back home. In his home he saw his wife cradling his son trying to write something.
"Kushina what are you doing" Minato asked seeing his tired, bloody wife. "Minato is it over" Kushina voice was barely heard. "No, the masked man escaped but the fox is still out it needed to be sealed". "Oh, don't worry, I can take it with me. I have already said my goodbyes. Just please raise him good" Kushina said in tears. "What" Minato's hoarse reply came.
"Minato, I knew I ant going to survive, so I wrote a letter for Naruto saying all that I want to say to him. But the paper is not enough Minato it's never going to enough" Kushina muttered in tears as she desperately clanged towards Naruto.
Minato looked at this broken and destroyed. His dream has turned into a nightmare. "Kushina I can't let you do this alone. I don't know even if you can do this" Minato tried to sound strong but he wasn't fooling anyone. "Then what" "NO you damn not" "I am sorry" Minato said as he looked towards his son. "His life will be hell Minato, hell. He would be hated, ostracized, neglected and what not. Please let it be me" Kushina begged
"Do you think I don't know that. How can I ask another parent to put their child through all this if I can't myself." Minato screamed
"You think he can conquer all that hate, loneliness and fox all alone. HOW" Kushina screamed back
"Because he our son and I believe in him" Kushina went silent for few seconds hearing this then said "Fine, have it your way. But at least you leave something of yours too in this letter."
"Kushina I would love too, but there isn't any time. People are dying out there" "Use a clone you dumb bastard" "You are genius" with that Minato created a clone to write for him not only to Naruto but also another one for Lord Third and Jiraya explaining about tonight.
Minato arrived near the cave with Kushina and Naruto and placed Naruto on altar to perform the ritual. He then saw Bunta still tussling with the fox. "Thanks Bunta you can leave but please tell the others to not get close." "Minato explain why does it took the fastest man alive so much time to arrive back. Had the Uchiha didn't calm the fox. I would have been toast. You are lucky you arrived just as the fox broke through." With that Bunta jumped away from ready to fulfil his final order before returning.
Kyuubi now free from that damn toad went for Minato which Minato dodged, its next attack was stopped by a gold chain grabbing his claw and then multiple chains pinning it there. "These chains, Kushina. How are you still alive you wretched woman" "We Uzumaki's are tough to kill, you should know that you dumb fox. Hurry Up" Kushina quipped. "I am sorry Naruto. Some father I am turning out to be" With that Minato started drawing Eight Trigrams Seal with his blood as he Kushina everything that was left in and beyond to keep Kyuubi stay.
"Kushina Thank you for loving me, making me a father and for every moment of my life" with that Minato finished the final handsign for Reaper Death Seal. The air turned ominous as the death god was finally summoned. "God of Death in exchange for my soul. Spilt the Kyuubi in half and seal the half into me and the other half into my son on the altar." Kyuubi sensing the presence roared again thrashing here and there trying to escape.
"Death God, they are trying to seal me into that child. NO" with that Kyuubi with all it's might was able to free a claw and went for Naruto only to intercepted by both Kushina and Minato jumping in the way to protect their son. "NO, damn you Fourth Hokage, damn you Kushina" were the fox last words before it was divided into half.
"It's a father's job to protect his son" "It's a mother's too idiot". "Kushina, I have some chakra left I want to seal some of mine and yours into Naruto. So that we can meet him once he needs us." with that Minato sealed a little bit of his and his wife's chakra into his son. As the memories and chakra of his shadow clone returned Minato used that last bit to summon a toad Gerotora.
"Minato what's that and what happened to you" the toad asked. "No time to answer Gerotora, I am entrusting with this key to give to Jiraya sensei, also tell him to pick two letters from my house. They are of upmost importance" Minato dismissed the toad. "Kushina it's time to say our last words"
"Naruto, don't be a picky eater. Eat all the veggies you will need them to grow big and strong. Make sure you take a bath every day and keep warm. Also don't stay till late you will a lot of sleep. When it comes to friends you don't need many of them some good ones are far better. I wasn't very good at it but keep practicing your ninjutsu and studies. As for being a shinobi stay away from the three vices money, alcohol and women. Speaking of women find someone who loves you just like your mom. Oh, Naruto there is so much I want to say, so long I want to stay. Sorry Minato I took your time too" Kushina muttered in tears
"Don't worry. Naruto my message is same as your nagging mother. Just always believe in yourself. You are going to become someone amazing" Eight Trigrams Seal. With that two of Konoha's greatest heroes died leaving another one stranded alone crying.
"Lord Third we have found them"
"Lord Fourth, Lady Kushina there isn't any pulse they are no more."
"Their child Lord Third he has a seal on him" Bear reported "Naruto, they took that name from Jiraya's first book. I believe he is now new jinchuriki of the fox. Secure him and make sure there is no harm to him." Hiruzen ordered.
"Minato, you stupid idiot you should have let me the sacrifice. Older generations are supposed to protect younger ones." Hiruzen said in with regret and gathered Minato's and Kushina's body and left to deal with the aftermath of the hell that occurred.
