Missy's Point of View

"Hey baby," Mom said, "How was your day?"

"Fine," I said, "But my head feels bad."

"You've been getting headaches a lot lately," Mom said, "I think we need to see Dr. Arrow."

"Okay," I said, "Can I take a Tylenol?"

Mom and Dad shared a glance.

"I'll bring you something better," Dad said.

He brought me out a pill that Dr. Jefferson gave him when he hurt his back. Mom made me an ice pack.

"Go lay down sweetie," she said.

She tucked me in bed. She made an appointment for me to see Dr. Arrow in the afternoon tomorrow around 12. Eventually I fell asleep. I could hear Mom and Dad talking softly and then I was out like a light. Mom ordered pizza for dinner, and I woke up several hours later to the smell of it. Sheldon had already set the table.

"Feeling better baby?" Mom asked.

"Yes, thanks," I said.

"Missy… Sheldon there's something we need to talk to you about," Dad said.

"Are we in trouble," Sheldon asked.

"Not at all," Mom said, "But it does involve a change. Your Dad got a job coaching a professional football team… the Dallas Cowboys."

"Yay Dad," I said, jumping up to hug him.

I immediately regretted it as I felt dizzy.

"Dad, that's amazing," Sheldon said.

"Yes," Mom said, "But it's a decision we need to make together as a family. We'll have to move to North Texas."

"But what about Memaw," Sheldon and I asked in unison.

"You'll see Memaw plenty," Mom reassured us.

"I think you should take the job," I said, "This is something great for you."

Sheldon nodded.

"Missy's right," he said, "You have to take it. You'll regret it if you don't."

"I'll call Mr. Lowery tomorrow," Dad said.

"So Missy," Mom began, "Your birthday is coming up the day after tomorrow. What do you want for your birthday?"

"I want the headaches to stop," I said.

I was born 3 weeks before Sheldon. Dad explained there was a problem with me and they had to take me out by cutting Mom's belly open but neither Sheldon nor I were developed enough. They kept Sheldon inside Mom until it was time for him to come out and Mom had him the same way she had me.

"Dr. Arrow will take care of those headaches," Mom promised me.

I nodded. I went to bed early and woke up again with another headache. Mom kept me home from school.
