A few days later David, who was smoking a cigarette, was proudly looking at some homemade mines that he had made with chemicals and tools that were in the place.

Although in the game the shelter was a closed area, the truth is that in real life the space was much larger so mapping the entire 8th floor was not easy, however to my relief there were only two ways to get there.

The stairs were quite damaged on some lower and upper floors, the elevator so the chances of having guests were not many but they existed.

So with the homemade antipersonnel mines that he made, he placed them in different parts of the stairs, marking them with some military signs that he remembered.

This was to avoid attacks in those places and to have a way to escape if things got out of control, in terms of investigating the upper and lower floors.

It could only be summed up that they were abandoned for the most part. He could only find traces of people on the first floors who were mostly drug addicts so there was not much danger.

However, he found good things in some places such as weapons, stashes of drugs, money or various objects.

Although his greatest achievement was finding an old laptop that was working so he was able to connect to the network, although that brought him more questions than answers.

The first thing he looked at was that he was in 2074 two years before the anime canon, so he should be 15 years old but that didn't explain why he hadn't received calls from Gloria or anyone else.

In the many theories that David assumed she was dead or for some reason he didn't know she was missing, the anime didn't show much of Gloria and David's previous life.

So he had no idea what the hell had happened to bring David to Dog town.

Although he was in a safe zone compared to the outside he couldn't be completely safe in that place, not when his experience could be surpassed by anyone with enhanced implants.

Not to mention that he himself had simple neural implants which he still didn't know how to use but which could be screwed by any netrunner with some Daemons in his hands.

Another thing he discovered was that things weren't like games or anime, stimulants didn't heal, and the damn USB flash drives there were were dangerous.

He's not proud but using one of the poor bastards full of drugs he gave him some of them to see if they were safe.

The first two didn't cause problems but the third one that the guy used burned his brain, leaving smoke coming out of his brain on the ground, only confirming that V's armor in the game's canon was shit.

The guy took usb that he found and even looked at the stupid neuro that killed the mayor of Night City without suffering major damage, not to mention that he was able to interact with AI and the black wall coming out clean.

It was quite unfair not to have the protection of the script but at least it wasn't so bad where he was, although he had to look for a better base and he knew exactly where he would find it.

In the basement of the building where he was there were some subway tunnels that led to a Militech bunker, which was investigating some AI things, the information from that place did not interest him but the protection it could offer was something else.

So he decided to go down hoping to find a damn card or failing that he will use the old Termite technique to open the damn doors, although being careful not to activate the stupid defenses of the place.

After preparing a good amount of Temite in his improvised and armed laboratory, he went down the elevator to the basement where he could see only garbage and useless objects as well as the path to the tunnels.

When he went down he looked at part of the collapsed tunnels as the entrance to a small tunnel with a red light that illuminated it.

Going down the stairs he got wet with water of dubious origin as he moved towards the exit, from where he climbed to another part of the collapsed subway.

So he continued his way to the right where he could see part of the collapsed wall that left a clear path so he followed it until he reached the entrance to the bunker.

Unlike the game where you could not inspect the objects in that place, David used a knife to open the green-coated boxes that were there to see what he could obtain from them.

To his surprise some were boxes of military supplies while others were just old documents.

So he took his time to review everything, which meant that he spent two days in that place reviewing everything until, to his surprise, he managed to find a level 4 bunker card among one of the boxes of documents.

"I guess checking things out can pay off."

With the card in his hand he went down the stairs to the entrance of the bunker, where he found the entrance he remembered from the game, so a smile formed on his face.
