Kaylon versus the Borg
Author's note: This is a little piece of creative writing that I just kind of typed up on a whim. I'm not sure when I will post the second chapter. But I hope my readers like the idea and concept. Enjoy!
The Orville universe -
Aboard a Borg Cube that just came through a spatial rift they caught sight of a planet approximately 1 million kilometers ahead of them.
"PLANET IN SIGHT!" said the voice of the collective. "SPATIAL GRID, 49761. PLANET UNKNOWN! TECHNOLOGY DETECTED! TECHNOLOGY IS ADVANCED! WE WILL PURSUE AND ASSIMILATE!"
On the planet surface of the world that was referred to as Kaylon 1, The Faceless gray humanoid robots with the only feature being the glowing eyes walked with flawless poise and their forearms elevated to waist height conducted countless tasks achieving nothing but perfection.
The one designated as 'Kaylon Secondary' walked with two guards on either side of him towards the one that was referred to as 'Kaylon Primary'.
"Primary, we have detected a vessel that has entered our airspace." said Secondary in a calm voice of no emotion.
"Who are they?" asked Primary.
"We do not know. We have no reference of them in our databanks." answered Secondary.
"Have they identified themselves?" asked Primary.
"Not yet. Wait…we are being hailed."
"Put it on."
They activated the communication systems and then heard the transmission.
"WE ARE THE BORG! LOWER YOUR SHIELDS AND SURRENDER YOUR SHIPS! WE WILL ADD YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN! YOUR CULTURE WILL ADAPT TO SERVICE US! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!"
"Primary, they have stated their intentions directly. They wish to enslave us." said Secondary.
Primary then sent a response.
"Alien vessel, you will withdraw or we will be forced to activate our planet's defensive systems."
"NEGATIVE! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!"
"You will be destroyed!"
"RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!"
"Have a group of sentry ships intercept and Destroy them." ordered Primary.
Up in space four Kaylon spheres flew towards the alien vessel that was in the shape of a cube that was an enormous colossal 27 cubic kilometers of ship.
The four Kaylon vessels unleashed a volley of particle energy weapons fire.
The energy blasts struck the surface of the Borg Cube and vaporized the tritanium hull on the point of impact and a small area around it, but the overall damage to the ship as a whole was minuscule.
The Borg Cube locks on a tractor beam to one of the Kaylon ships while unleashing a volley of cutting beams and disruptor fire.
The Kaylon ship was overpowered and destroyed in a matter of seconds.
The other three ships spread out hoping to make it harder to hit them while using some fast-moving evasive maneuvers. The board Cube continued to attempt to lock on tractor beams and cutting beams and disrupt fire.
Less than a minute later a second ship was taken down.
As the remaining two Kaylon ships continued to fire their weapons the Borg were analyzing the frequency of the weapons fire. Eventually they were able to match it.
The Kaylon were taken off guard when the next volley of shots they fired were absorbed and neutralized by the Borg Shields, no longer causing any further damage to the cube.
Another tractor being locked on to the third ship and once it was immobilized another volley of cutting beams and disruptor fire quickly destroyed it.
And then there was one. The remaining Kaylon ship was quickly dispatched.
The cube continued to move towards the planet.
Down on the planet surface, Kaylon Primary was surprised by the quick dispatch of the four Kaylon ships that he was convinced should have been more than a match for this one lone solitary vessel.
"This vessel's combat capabilities are far more formidable than we initially anticipated." said Kaylon Primary. "We will not make that mistake again. Secondary, send in a second wave only this time make it 10 ships."
