Tornado adopts a Unicorn
It was just past noon when Tatsumaki arrived with Eri in the middle of Mustafa. They were hungry and needed to find a restaurant. Tatsumaki is unbearable when she's hungry.
They both were exhausted after their little training session. Well, mentally exhausted, to be exact, but whatever. After flying back, Tatsumaki decided not to eat at the cafeteria in UA and instead tried to scout the area to find a nice restaurant. And to cook something herself was faster out of her mind than Flashy Flash showing off his speed.
In her home world, Tatsumaki often went out to eat at a fancy restaurant where she could eat without getting bothered by fans. Because the restaurant was well known, only certain people were allowed inside. She even took Fubuki with her sometimes, like the last time when they discussed what to do with Psykos.
Thinking about Fubuki made Tatsumaki a little homesick. She needed to know if her little sister was safe. Well, she often hangs out with the baldy, so she should be fine, right?
Not only that, but she also wants to show off the little companion she has acquired in this world. She just knows that Fubuki will fawn over her as she does with puppies. 'I hope Blast finds me soon.' Tatsumaki thought somberly.
Eri noticed her guardian's sad mood and got worried. "Are you okay?" She asked concerned, and tucked on Tatsumaki's sleeve.
Snapping out of it, Tatsumaki looked down at the girl with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Eri. I'm okay. I just thought about my home and when I can see my sister again. I will someday introduce you to her so you can look forward to it." Tatsumaki beamed unusually at the girl.
Then Tatsumaki spotted a passable restaurant and showed Eri where they could eat. It looked like something for the rich, and usually, Tatsumaki could pay for it with her earnings as a hero. But here, she had to rely on Nezu's card. She hoped it could cover the prize.
They walked over to it and went inside. Immediately, they were welcomed by an employee, who asked them if they had reserved a table. They didn't, but that didn't stop Tatsumaki from glaring at the poor guy so intensely that he started to sweat blood.
Because the poor man did not plan to die today, he kicked out some random people who were in the middle of eating and showed the duo where they could eat.
Tatsumaki placed Eri on her lap and showed her all the different things she could eat here. "Look at this, Eri. It's one of my favorite dishes, and I'm sure you will like it. Do you want to eat this?" Tatsumaki asked Eri as she showed her a small picture of the dish. It was Pasta, and Tatsumaki loved Pasta.
Eri trusted Tatsumaki completely and nodded at her. Everything that Tatsumaki likes must be absolutely delicious, in Eri's mind. Satisfied, Tatsumaki ordered the same dish for both of them, with apple juice for Eri and cocoa for herself.
After Tatsumaki ordered, she placed Eri in her own chair and talked about what she will do after starting to work as a hero again. "Listen Eri, in a couple of days, I will start working as a hero again, and I need to know what to do with you. I can't take you with me. That would be way too dangerous, so we must come up with a plan for what to do with you when I am away doing hero work." Tatsumaki began to explain carefully.
At first, she wanted to take Eri with her, but after thinking about it for a bit and after their hug in the wasteland, Tatsumaki changed her mind. Whenever she thought about taking Eri with her, something inside her screamed at her. It was a strange feeling she had never had before. But it came dangerously close to the feeling she has when Fubuki is in danger, only that it was stronger and purer this time.
Strange.
Eri looked at her with big eyes that tugged on Tatsumaki's heart. "I can't come with you?" She asked sadly.
"No, sweetie. It would be way too dangerous for you. If something happened to you, I could not forgive myself. How about staying in the house when I'm at work? You could watch TV the whole day, and I can tell the rat to look after you." Tatsumaki tried to give Eri some good offers, and what child wouldn't love to watch TV the whole day?
But Eri wanted to stay by her side because she felt safe there. "But if you're there, I'll be safe, right?" Eri asked hopefully with her red eyes wide open.
It was hard for Tatsumaki to argue against that, because Eri was right, she would be safe around Tatsumaki. But she also didn't want Eri to see how she massacres villains and monsters because Fubuki was afraid of her the first time she killed someone in front of her. She doesn't want to repeat that mistake. The guy from Overhaul and the giant were the exception because she had no other choice or didn't care about Eri enough at that point.
She needed to stay strong. "Eri, I will not take you with me, and that's final. We have this and 2 other days to think about a solution, so please think about it carefully." Tatsumaki said a little more sternly to make her point clear.
Eri pouted at that, not wanting to leave Tatsumaki's side. Reluctantly, Eri nodded at Tatsumaki to show her that she understood. It still didn't get into her small head how she would be in danger around Tatsumaki. Still, so far, Tatsumaki didn't lie to her, and she trusted her with her life, so she will think about what she wanted to do when Tatsumaki does hero work.
Tatsumaki smiled at Eri and reached over the table to pat her head. "I knew you would understand. We will find a solution together, and I promise I will find a way for you to contact me anytime if something happens."
This made Eri a little relieved. If she can contact Tatsumaki, it wouldn't be so bad, right? "Really?" She asked with a smile on her face.
Tatsumaki nodded at her.
It was then that their meal arrived. The waiter placed their dishes and drinks on the table and left them alone to eat. Tatsumaki looked at her own meal and smirked in satisfaction. This looked good enough if you asked her. Maybe she would visit this place again in the fu- ... ARE THEY STUPID?!
Tatsumaki looked over at Eri's lunch and couldn't believe her eyes. "WAITER! GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!" She shouted her command, but she could have saved her breath because she had him already immobilized with her telekinesis and moved him across the room over to her.
The waiter was sweating bullets. What did he do? He had no clue. Tatsumaki placed him down and glared at him with such intensity that the whole room seemed to be getting colder by the second. Now the other people at the restaurant began to shiver in fear too.
"What is this?" Tatsumaki pointed at Eri's meal and glared at the poor men.
"I- I- I- I d- do- don't un- understand ma'am. I- I just gave you your m- meal like you ordered." The waiter stammered out barely.
"I ordered apple juice for her, but you gave her orange juice. I don't know if you're just dumb or mentally challenged, but the difference is quite big between an apple and an orange. If you don't bring her apple juice in the next five minutes, I will fire you, understood." Tatsumaki told him furiously as she increased the pressure around his neck.
Her poor victim tried to reason with her, but it was pointless. "Bu- but ma'am. We don't serve apple jui-" He began but was interrupted by Tatsumaki. "Apple juice, NOW!" She said with finality.
The waiter got free of her powers and began to sprint away to get apple juice from who knows where, but was stopped by Tatsumaki again. "I was not finished."
The poor guy looked at her with despair on his face. Didn't she just tell him to get apple juice? Is she insane? "But you just said I ne-" And was interrupted again. "Don't talk until I say so. I also ordered Pasta for both of us, but the kid only got a kid's portion. Did I at any point in time say I wanted a kid's portion for her? No! So bring her another meal immediately. You have 5 minutes. Go!" The guy was finally released and quickly got to work.
What Tatsumaki didn't know was that this guy was the manager of the restaurant. And he only worked today because he was bored and wanted to try something new. But now he will probably never work as a waiter again in his entire life.
Pleased with herself, Tatsumaki smiled at Eri. "Don't worry Eri, the idiot will bring you new food very fast, I promise." She told the small girl in a much softer tone.
Eri doesn't understand what just happened. The food looked delicious, so why did the men need to bring her new food? The drink looked tasty too. But if Tatsumaki said the food was not good, then she would trust her on that.
After the waiter brought Eri a new plate with Pasta and fresh apple juice, they began to eat. "Hmph, don't expect me to pay you after your little mistake earlier." Tatsumaki huffed out.
The waiter smiled nervously at Tatsumaki. "O- of course, ma'am. Please e- enjoy your meal." The waiter disappeared faster than light.
Tatsumaki took the fork in her hand and began to eat with her ... powers? She moved the food with her telekinesis into her mouth. Why the fork then? Eri on the other hand, was trying to eat normally, but it was quite the difficult task because she couldn't get the Pasta on her fork. It always slipped off, and it was frustrating. Tatsumaki saw this and tried to help the girl.
After Tatsumaki showed Eri how to use the fork properly, Eri managed to eat like a normal person and enjoyed her food. And oh boy, did she enjoy it. It was even more delicious than the food Tatsumaki had prepared, and she devoured the food with intensity that Tatsumaki had never seen in the girl.
After they finished eating, Tatsumaki wiped Eri's mouth clean with a napkin, just like Fubuki did to her after eating Pasta. And like Tatsumaki said earlier, they left the restaurant without paying, leaving relieved staff and customers behind.
Outside, Tatsumaki wanted to walk with Eri to explore the city a bit more and grabbed the girl's hand to walk with her together. But then they were both interrupted by a black limousine stopping before them. Out of the limo came a woman who looked like someone Tatsumaki would love to launch into space. She had a literally resting bitch face. It is amazing how a person can just stand around doing absolutely nothing, and Tatsumaki already hates their gut.
The woman wore a nice suit, and three men stood behind her as bodyguards. "Good afternoon, Miss Tatsumaki. I'm the president of the Hero Public Safety Commission, and I would like to invite you- " Tatsumaki walked straight past her, ignoring her completely. Madam President stood there utterly perplexed.
Snapping out of it, the president followed behind Tatsumaki, hoping to clear up the misunderstanding. She tried everything in her power to find her. She couldn't give up now. "Miss Tatsumaki, I think you should hear us out because you need t-" But Tatsumaki had other plans. "I think you need to mind your own business if you don't want to end up as blood stains." Tatsumaki turned her head and glared at the president.
Not trusting her own ears, the president glared back at Tatsumaki. "Miss Tatsumaki, if you don't cooperate, we will use force." She threatened the esper with her full authority.
Tatsumaki stopped in her tracks and turned around. Her glare was so intense that it sent shivers down their spine. "Do you have any idea what I'm capable of? Don't think that you can threaten me with your pathetic excuse of heroes. I know how you operate. Nezu told me everything I needed to know. Now piss off before I really launch you into space." Tatsumaki spat at them with venom in her voice. She already has to deal with the corruption of the Hero Association in her own world. No way does she want to deal with something like that in this world too.
The president could not believe it. This damn rat ruined everything. Of course Nezu had already made contact with her. Dammit, what can they even do now? It was so frustrating.
They had no other choice. To get Tatsumaki on their side, they needed to change the plan. They dropped to the ground and bowed before Tatsumaki like someone would do before a god. "Please, just hear us out, and then we will be out of your hair. Please come with us, it will only take a couple of minutes. And if you still don't want to deal with us after what we say to you, we will be out of your hair for good." The president hated it. She was the goddamn president of the HPSC, for god's sake. But the power the esper wields must be under their control. With her on the side of the HPSC, they would be unstoppable.
But Tatsumaki had already seen through their little plan. She dealt with people like them her whole life. Boot lickers and ass crawlers were part of her life, like eating and sleeping. So she decided to take their offer and goes with them. Because if she doesn't do that, they will probably bother her every day from now on.
Sighing, Tatsumaki did as she was told and agreed to their offer. "Fine, I will hear you out, but if you piss me off even once, I will break every bone in your body." Tatsumaki threatened seriously.
The president smirked in satisfaction, thinking she had her hooked already, not knowing that Tatsumaki had no intentions of listening to them.
With that, Tatsumaki and Eri got into the car and drove off to the main building of the HPSC. The car ride was awkward, with Tatsumaki completely ignoring every attempt of small talk from the president. Eri just sat beside Tatsumaki, totally confused. She didn't know what had just happened and remained silent. She only knew that Tatsumaki didn't like these people, so she needed to be careful.
At the HPSC, Tatsumaki and Eri were led through the building to the office of Madam President. They each took a seat and were left alone by the bodyguards. Now it was only the three of them.
The president started the conversation, thinking she had Tatsumaki already in her grasp. "Now that we're here, I can show you what I've planned with you. I already know you are not from this world by searching through your case of Detective Tsukauchi." The president started calmly to intimidate Tatsumaki by showing her that she knew she was from another world. But Tatsumaki was unimpressed and stared at the president boredly. "And? Go on with it. My time is precious." Tatsumaki said as she waved her off with her left hand.
Still smiling but a bit forced, the president continued with her scheme. "I will get straight to the point then. Miss Tatsumaki, with your capabilities, you can become the world's mightiest hero in history. If you work under us, we can shower you with money, fame, and many other things you can't even imagine. If you accept our offer, you will be world-famous, rich and no one can even hope to reach you. You just need to follow our orders." Tatsumaki heard enough. Does this bitch have no brain at all? Who does she think she is to believe that she can order around the Tornado of Terror?
But the woman was not finished yet.
"Oh, and you don't have to worry about the child. We already know enough about her from the other case I read through." The bitch said smugly, thinking she had complete control over the situation. It pissed her off. "The child would fit in perfectly in our hero training program. She will be trained by our staff from an early age to be the perfect hero by the age of 18. We just need to know her quirk, and then she will be out of your hair. What do you say, miss Tatsumaki? It would be much easier to do hero work when you don't have to look after a child, don't you think?" And with that, the president just made her own grave.
Did Tastsumaki just hear that right? They want to take Eri away from her? Tatsumaki really tried to remain calm this entire time, but it was getting seriously difficult after hearing that they wanted to take her child away from her.
Tatsumaki released her energy full force as green auro spiraled around her body. Her killing intent got so intense that the president thought she looked into the eyes of death itself.
She fucked up.
"I've had enough of your bullshit, you pathetic worm. The thought alone that you think you can push me around as you please should be punished with extreme pain, but then you threaten to take away my child?" The woman was shitting herself now. "After I'm done with you, I never want to see your ugly face again. Is that clear?" Tatsumaki said with a demonic voice coming out of her mouth. It was terrifying.
The president was fearing for her life. Never would she have thought that this day could turn out this bad. She fucked up completely. And now she was at the mercy of an enraged esper.
Tatsumaki covered Eri's eyes and ears again to ensure she didn't see what she planned on doing.
She grabbed the president with her telekinesis and twisted her body in such a way that bones began to break and muscle fibers got torn apart. The woman screamed in pain as her body got destroyed by Tatsumaki. After that, Tatsumaki began to work on the building. As she started to destroy the floor, she talked to the president in a dangerously low voice. "If you ever bother me again, I will come back and kill you without hesitation." The floor crashed with the president buried under rubble.
Tatsumaki ensured she would survive and flew off with Eri in her arms. Did she overreact a little? Yes, she did. But she doesn't care right now. What was more important was to let Eri know these were bad people. "Listen Eri, these guys are bad people too. They disguise themself as good people to take advantage of morons who are too naive. But the good thing is, most of them are as dumb as dry bread, so you don't have to worry about them. Because I know you are a smart girl, right?" Tatsumaki told Eri as they flew above Mustafa's skyline.
Eri took the words of Tatsumaki to heart. She doesn't ever want to be in the clutches of bad people again in her life. She understood what Tatsumaki was saying to her. But now, as they continued flying above the city, they forgot about the HPSC and enjoyed the view. It was a different kind of beauty in Eri's eyes. The city looked pretty from above, and all the people looked like ants. She could see so many things here in the air. Eri smiled and continued enjoying the flight as she snuggled closer to Tatsumaki.

Back at UA, Nezu was in his office planning the upcoming dormitories for the students. In a couple of days, the day of Tatsumaki's interview, the students will return to school and then move into the dormitories. The good thing is that every student will return to school, so they don't have to worry about that. Now he must think about what to do with Tatsumaki. First, he thought she would simply be a protector of the school in a sense, but maybe she could even start her own combat class in the future.
She is a hero in a different world where it's either to kill or to be killed, so her experience is something they should value greatly and maybe teach their students.
But it's all just speculation. First, they need to start teaching again. Even then, Tatsumaki is so focused on starting to work as a hero again that it will be difficult to get her to teach someone. Not to mention, she just adopted a child.
Knock knock knock
'Ohh? Who could that be?' Nezu thought, but of course, he knew already.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Tatsumaki walked inside with Eri beside her. "I need a favor." Tatsumaki demanded with her usual tone of authority.
Well, would you look at that? Maybe he doesn't need to think about how to get her teaching after all.
Nezu's cheerful smile widened, and he rested his chin on his paws. "A favor you say miss Tatsumaki? I can do many things for you, but you know I want something in return, do you?" He asked slyly with his cheerful voice.
"Hmph, don't play around the bush, smartass. What do you want me to do?" She told him impatiently.
"Fufufu, now now miss Tatsumaki, you are the one who needs the favor, so please explain to me what you want me to do." Nezu explained calmly, not fearing Tatsumaki in the slightest.
Tatsumaki just scowled at him. "Tch, fine. I need someone who can look after the little one here when I'm gone doing hero work. She needs to be protected and entertained. You will find someone who can feed her, play with her, and teach her certain things. And by god, if I find out that she got hurt, I will burn this whole school to the ground." Tatsumaki finished her rant with an ice-cold glare at Nezu.
But Nezu didn't get intimidated by Tatsumaki. No, he actually was quite happy about this development. His earlier problem has now been solved on its own.
Not to mention that most of her threats are empty anyway. As long as you don't piss her off too much.
"You don't have to worry about anything. I will see that Eri will be under our best care and that nothing will happen to her. I swear on my seat as the principal." Nezu told Tatsumaki with a fond smile on his furry face. An actual smile this time.
Satisfied, Tatsumaki nodded at Nezu. "Good, now what do you want in return?"
"Oh, nothing special, really. I just want you to work as a teacher in our school after classes start again. And I think it should be class 1A. They have had many encounters with villains in the past, so it could be beneficial for them to start training under you. I will fill you in later with the details. Just enjoy the rest of the day." With this, Nezu finished his explanation and continued his paperwork, leaving Tatsumaki standing in front of his desk.
Normally, Tatsumaki would find this outrageous. Teaching some slackers with no potential seems pointless in her eyes, but if she can bring Eri over with her, then she can start teaching her earlier on, and that would be beneficial for the girl. Tatsumaki smirked, already using the situation to her advantage, and left the room with Eri following her.

At their house, the two of them made themselves comfortable on the couch to watch TV. Tatsumaki specifically was amazed by this thing called streaming service. Who would've thought that you could watch movies and series whenever you wanted? It was amazing. The internet is much more advanced compared to her own world and if there's one thing she will miss from this world, it will be the streaming thing.
"What do you want to watch, Eri?" Tatsumaki asked her calmly as she zapped through all these different movies.
And because Eri doesn't know what to watch either, they just picked the first best movie out and watched it. It was a kid's movie, so it was kind of boring for Tatsumaki, but she didn't mind because it was far more entertaining to watch Eri gasp and wonder at certain parts of the movie.
It was peaceful.
The doorbell rang on their third movie, and Tatsumaki walked to get it. After their second movie, Tatsumaki ordered pizza for both of them, so it should be their food delivery.
Tatsumaki opened the door, and behind it stood a man she recognized. It was the restaurant's waiter/manager. He looked down on his paper and didn't see Tatsumaki yet. "Good evening, customer. I am here with your pizza. I hope you will enjoy it. " He looked up and immediately froze on the spot. 'Why me?' He just wanted to get a bit of variety in his day.
Tatsumaki glared at the man. "So your restaurant also delivers food? It looked way too fancy for that, but whatever. I hope you got our order right." She told him in an ice-cold tone as she picked up the food from the man and opened the box.
Her pizza looked alright, and she immediately opened Eri's box to inspect it. But would you look at that? It looked completely fine in Tatsumaki's eyes. "Hmph, good job. It looks like you are at least capable of making a pizza. Here's your cash." She said pleased, threw the cash at him, and closed the door.
The men stood on the spot, completely drenched in sweat. 'I will never work outside my office again.' And walked away with a heart rate of 180 bpm.
Back in the living room, Tatsuamki placed the pizza in front of Eri and made herself comfortable on the couch again. Eri looked at the pizza in confusion and turned to look at Tatsumaki for answers. "What is that?" She asked with big red eyes.
Tatsumaki smiled down at the girl and grabbed a piece of her pizza to show her how to eat it. "This here is pizza. You just have to grab a piece with your hand and eat it. It's very delicious." She explained, moved the piece to her mouth with her powers, and took a bite.
Eri observed Tatsumaki first and then tried to copy her. And after she took one large bite, her eyes immediately widened. It was even more tastier than the Pasta in the restaurant. She wanted to eat like this every day from now on. "Can we eat pizza every day?" She asked hopefully with her mouth full of food.
Grabbing a napkin, Tatsumaki wiped Eri's mouth clean and scolded her slightly. "We don't talk with our mouths full, understood?" Eri nodded and swallowed down. "And we can't eat pizza every day. It's unhealthy, so we should eat it only twice a week at most. Otherwise, we will get fat, and our hearts will get weaker." She told Eri in a serious but calm tone.
Well, that sucks. But it doesn't matter. As long as she can eat pizza every week, it should be fine.
They finished eating their pizza and continued to enjoy each other's presence on the couch, with Eri snuggling close to Tatsumaki and resting her head on Tatsumaki's shoulder. Tatsumaki swung her arm around Eri, and they cuddled for the rest of the day.
But at 9 in the evening, Eri's eyes got heavy, and she fell asleep in the lap of Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki smiled down at her and let her sleep like this for another hour before deciding to get some sleep herself. So she carefully picked up Eri and tucked her into bed. Sadly, Eri's room was still a bit barren, so it didn't look like a child's room. She will work something out in the next few days to make it look nicer here.
Stroking through Eri's hair one last time, Tatsumaki left her alone and went to bed herself.
She puts on her pajamas and makes herself comfortable in her king-sized bed. If Nezu knows how to do one thing, it is to pick out the best bed in the world. Because Tatsumaki was so fast asleep, she didn't even get to think about the day.
And she also had a nice dream. Tatsumaki never dreams, so it is a pleasant surprise. But sadly, she couldn't enjoy her dream very long because she was abruptly awoken by a loud scream coming out of Eri's room.
Tatsumaki bolted upright with speed she didn't know she was capable of. She flew out of her bedroom lightning fast and reached Eri's door in a hurry. It sounded like she was saying something as she screamed in terror, so Tatsumaki opened the door, flew inside, and smashed the light switch.
She saw Eri in her bed, turning and waving with her limbs in every direction. She was sweating and crying like she was possessed by something. "NO PLEASE STOP! I DON'T WANT TO HURT ANYMORE! PLEASE! NOOO! GO AWAY! HELP ME!" Eri screamed out with her voice terrified. Tatsumaki didn't know what to do and just stood there in shock for a few seconds. This never happened before, and Fubuki never had any nightmares to begin with. Should she wake her up, or would that make it worse?
Tatsumaki began to breathe faster. What was she supposed to do? Wake her up? No, maybe it would have a harmful psychological effect on her. But she was screaming like her life was in danger. So waking her up seems to be the best option. But what if it wasn't?
GOD DAMMIT WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT? It's just a stupid nightmare, for god's sake. Tatsumaki was interuppted by Eri's scream. "MOMMY! MOMMY PLEASE HELP ME!" Eri cried out as her hands tried to grab something in the air.
Tatsumaki saw this and ran over to Eri on pure instinct. She grabbed Eri's hand and tried to wake her up. To hell with it. She won't let her little girl suffer any longer. She whispered softly in her ears. "I'm here, Eri. Everything is alright. Please wake up. It's just a nightmare. I will always protect you like I promised, so please wake up." She said as she carefully shook Eri's body.
But no matter what she did, the girl continued to scream in agony. Tatsumaki began to panic. Why is it not working? Shouldn't something like that wake up any normal person? What the hell is happening with Eri? Is it her trauma? Was it so deeply engraved in her mind? If she ever gets her hands on Overhaul, she will do things she had never thought about in her life.
Tatsumaki tried to talk louder and shake her more roughly, but it was in vain. Eri continued to twist and turn with no sign of stopping.
But then Tatsumaki remembered something. It was just one time, and it was brief, but Fubuki managed to wake up Tatsumaki out of her own nightmare. It was the fight against Psykos when Tatsumaki fell unconscious and dreamed of her imprisonment. Fubuki managed to wake her up by talking to her telepathic. Could this work here too? She has no other choice. Eri needs her.
Tatsumaki placed her hand on Eri's forehead and let her power flow through Eri's head. She began to concentrate and tried to communicate with Eri through her mind. And it looked like Eri calmed down after feeling Tatsumaki's energy through her body. So maybe this will work?
She began to talk telepathic. "Eri, please wake up. It's just a nightmare. Nothing you see right now is real. Nothing like that will ever happen to you again because now you have me in your life. And I promise that I will always protect you. Please wake up, sweetie. Please. I don't want to see you cry." Tatsumaki said calmly through her mind. It was tough because Eri's mind was rejecting everything that tried to go through it. But it needed to work. Tatsumaki didn't know what to do otherwise.
And then it happened. Eri opened her eyes and bolted upright. She looked around the room in panic and began to breathe faster and faster. But then her eyes landed on Tatsumaki, and she immediately cried again and launched herself at her. She hugged her close and cried into Tatsumaki's chest, with big tears coming out of her eyes.
"Mommy? *sniff* Please d- don't leave me. *hic* I'm s- so scared." She managed to say with a weak voice. She was utterly exhausted.
Tatsumaki folded her arms around Eri's small form and pressed Eri's face against her chest to comfort the small girl. "I promise I won't leave you. I will stay with you. Everything will be alright, sweetie. I'm here." Tatsumaki said in a soft tone.
After a couple of minutes, Eri calmed down and stopped crying. "Can I sleep with you tonight?" She looked up directly into Tatsumaki's eyes with a pleading look. Tatsumaki smiled down at her little girl. "Of course, Eri. Come, let's go to bed." And with that, Tatsumaki stood up with Eri in her arms as she walked back to her bedroom.
She layed down, and Eri snuggled close to Tatsumaki to get as much comfort and protection as she could. Tatsumaki folded her arms around Eri protectively and hugged her close. They stayed like this for the rest of the night. Not bothered by a nightmare again.
It was the most peaceful sleep they had both gotten in a long time.
.
.
.
But something was on Tatsumaki's mind before she fell asleep. Earlier, after entering Eri's mind, she saw something. At the time, she ignored it to calm down Eri, but now she had the time to think about it clearly. After she entered Eri's mind, she saw what Overhaul did to her.
She. Saw. Everything. He. Did. To. Her.
Everything.
She will kill him. This guy will never have a single peaceful moment in his life again. She will torture him, break him, and do things she would not wish on her worst enemies. Overhaul is finished.
He will pay for what he's done to her daughter.

End of chapter 5.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
I hope you are not turned off by Tatsumaki's softness to Eri. I think she has a hard shell that is really soft underneath, especially to children. But if you think it was way out of character you can tell me and maybe I can change it.
Is it too early for Eri to call her mom? I mean Tatsumaki was the first person to treat her kindly and rescued her. Then she got her to smile and even told her that she was not cursed. The last 24 hours were the best in Eri's life. And because of the situation with the nightmare, Eri called her mom by instinct.
Oh and by the way. We are near the first big fight of the story.
Well that's all folks. Please review. :)
Bye.
