Chapter 44 The Widow's Heart

Tracer was sleeping on her bed since it was a long day yesterday, then she felt someone open the window and she grunted.

"Good morning!" She saw Miri there as she little girl cheers.

Tracer yawns. "Yeah I know." She gets up. "I don't need a wake up call, even more on Saturday."

"But I wanted to play with you." Miri said.

"Okay, let's go." Tracer smiles.

She got dress to get ready for the day, they had breakfast and Miri smiles having cereal.

"You really like that one." Tracer chuckles.

"Yeah, it's so tasty!" Miri said.

"Well get dress love, we'll be having a long day ahead of us." Tracer said.

They went out to the city and Miri goes foward looking around.

"Hey calm down Miri." Tracer said.

"Okay mama Lena." She said.

Tracer smiles, Miri likes to call her by her real name, she doesn't mind since Miri was basically family to all of them.

She's still mad what Misaki did to her, but now Miri can have a real family with Overwatch as they are her family.

"Good thing that Akira found her when he did." Tracer said.

Tracer felt a scope and teleports away and she saw Widowmaker on a rooftop pointing her sniper at her.

"Oh come on." Tracer goes away while Miri went to get some ice cream since she had money.

"Good thing Akira gave her a few coins to feed her." Tracer said.

Widowmaker shoots at her many times with Tracer doing the same as they went around.

"Like seriously, my day off." Tracer said.

"I am not interested, only in ending your life." Widowmaker said.

Tracer frowns, she needs to avoid getting Miri caught in this mess, Widowmaker moves her gun as she looks through the scope, she then noticed Miri getting ice cream.

She knows that's the girl that Akira is with from the reports, she could shoot her to make Tracer take the shot.

But her finger wouldn't move, her body is refusing to accept the command it's being given, like something deep inside of her refuses to harm the child.

Tracer came and shoots her back making Widowmaker grunt.

Why did she froze? Tracer was confused to the way she stopped.

Widowmaker holds her chest and thinks: My body, it wouldn't allow me to harm her no matter what, is my past really affecting me?

She takes out a pistol to shoot at her and Tracer dodges since she got new guns to fight her.

"I've been ready to fight your friend." Widowmaker said.

"Oh I see, your after Akira, well you gotta do better than that." Tracer teleports around as Widowmaker shoots at her.

Miri was eating her ice cream with a smile on her face. "So good!"

On the rooftops behind her were the two women still shooting, she looks back but they were gone.

"Huh?" She got confused before she turned around again.

"Strange noise." Miri said before she eats her ice cream again.

"She's so cute!" Tracer said while fighting Widowmaker.

"Concentrate on the fight." She told Tracer.

"Hey let me enjoy being a mother." Tracer said.

"A mother?" Widowmaker said.

Her heart felt pain as she remembers a man in her memories that made her happy and a wish to have a family as she screams.

"Wait?!" Tracer got shocked. "What's wrong with you?!"

Widowmaker stands back as she shoots at Tracer who just blinks to the sides since the shots were sloppy now.

Widowmaker was still in pain and she can't shoot better because of it.

Miri goes to find Tracer before Mei appeared. "Oh Miri."

"Mama Mei!" Miri got excited.

Mei blushed hearing that. "That's kind of you Miri, I came to check on you for a bit."

"Okay!" Miri said.

Tracer I bought you some time. Mei thinks to herself.

Widowmaker stands back and she kept shooting but Tracer was still confused dodging the shots, Widowmaker was much better than this so Tracer had a much easier job avoiding her.

"What's wrong with you? First you were all i'm going to kill you, now you can't even do a simple shot." Tracer said.

"I have no idea what happened to my body, but I must finish my job." She raises her hand.

But then her hand felt limp and it let's go of her hand making Widowmaker as her body refused to fight now.

"Okay, weird." Tracer said.

Widowmaker decided to retreat as Tracer looks for her but she's gone. "Well gotta go to Miri."

Miri walks with Mei for a bit before Tracer appeared. "Hey Mei, thanks for taking care of Miri, but we need to go." She takes her away.

"Okay see ya at the base." Mei said.

"Bye!" Miri waves at her with a smile on her face.

At Talon

Widowmaker was inside her room lying down on her bed as she stares at the ceiling, Sombra came and looks at her.

"So, what's with that strange display, I saw your fight with Tracer, why did you get worse as it went on, your supposed to be able to complete anything." Sombra said.

"I do not know." Widowmaker said.

"Well go check the medical bay, we don't need our best shooter to become sick." Sombra leaves the room.

"This is the strangest thing that has happened to her, what triggered this." She looks at a screen she had.

She checks the footage and saw Miri from a camera. "Who's that?"

Sombra saw Widowmaker pointing at her and it caused the downfall of her skills.

"Did that girl cause a reaction?" Sombra stares at the image. "Also who is she?"

She checks her data and she found her with Akira. "Is that girl his daughter? When did he have a kid? Well that doesn't matter since she lives in they're base so she's guarded."

Talon might have want to capture her, but the fact she's never alone without someone from Overwatch it means that it's hard to get her.

"Well gotta keep this to myself." Sombra goes away.

Widowmaker kept staring before a image of Miri smiling appeared making her have tears come out of her eyes.

"What is this feeling?" She touches her face.

Note: Tracer had a day with Miri but Widowmaker crashed the day with Miri not knowing what happened, also Miri's presence caused Widowmaker's past to affect her as her body refused to fight.
