Chapter 59 Ray of Light

I don't own Kamen Rider Den-O or Overwatch

Akira was at the base as he checks his gear and his teigu to make sure they were working. He had a day off so he came here to check his stuff.

Mercy came inside. "Hello Akira."

"Oh hey Mercy." He said.

"I was checking on you. Since your our recent member." She said.

"Yeah, I might not be the most experienced of the group but I can help." He smiles.

With the Taros they have the experience to rival them and with the suits he can be strong enough to fight against Talon.

"Still surprised Tracer can be safer with her new suit." Mercy said.

"Well it's a surprise for everyone, but it's something in case her gadget doesn't work again." Akira said.

Mercy nodded. "It's really a danger many of us are worried that might happen again."

"Yeah, but it's enjoying our times is what matters." He said.

Mercy sits at a chair. "I heard you went through so much."

Akira looks at her. "It's okay. I have a dream and I will stick to it."

"And that's what we all can do." Mercy said as she looks to a picture frame.

It's one of Miri with Akira at the park when they took a picture together.

"She's now your world." She smiles.

"Oh Miri, yeah, we've always been together." He smiles.

Ever since he found her he spent a lot of time with Miri, even if they're not related by blood, she's still his daughter no matter what.

"I just hope she will have a happy life with you and all of us." Mercy said.

"Well thanks Mercy." He said.

She looks at him. "It's never a bad thing to ask for help. She wants a real family and we are all together as one."

"At least she can have a real father. The one that is supposed to be her true one, is a really bad guy." He frowns.

"But she met you and is going to have a better life. I know since I can see it in her eyes." Mercy said.

She has been taking care of Miri from time to time, and she can say the little girl was a angel despite the mischief she might cause in the base. But she was still a child so it was natural that she would act like that.

"You've been hanging out a lot with Miri too." Akira said.

"She's just a piece of innocence we all deserve. Afterall, with what happened and after many battles just seeing a little angel can help our minds recover better." Mercy smiles.

He chuckles. "Well she's also the only girl I know who's excited to go to Daycare. Even begging me to take her there."

"Lena was also a good mother figure for her. I just wish she didn't almost reveal her secret." Mercy said.

"What are you going to do, she's just a kid." Akira shrugs.

"Maybe I should pick up Miri." Mercy volunteered.

"Are you sure? Lena said she could go." Akira said.

"I would like to see the little one again." She smiles.

"Well okay, just wear normal clothes." He said.

She nodded before going off.

"You know after many got used to her they like her now." Akira said.

"You don't say." The taros said.

Later

Mercy was wearing casual clothes as she waits near the entrance, she smiles seeing many children go to they're parents.

It always reminded her the things they are doing, who they are protecting.

"Mama Mercy!" She saw Miri run towards her and hug the woman.

Mercy blinks before smiling at her words. "Hello Miri."

"Did you come to pick me up?" Miri asked.

"Yes, let's go, your papa is waiting back home." Mercy said.

"Yay!" She cheers.

Mercy holds her hand and the two went down the streets together.

"I want a banana." Miri said.

Mercy chuckles. "Okay, we'll get one on the way."

Miri smiles and Mercy was happy to see that bright smile on her face. Genji might be annoyed by Miri but she's the thing they needed the most.

"How was daycare Miri?" Mercy asked.

"I had a lot of fun with my friends." Miri said.

"Oh that's good to hear. It's always good to make friends." She said.

Nearby someone was watching them from on top of a building, it was Widowmaker and she was looking through a scope, she watches the two and knows that's Mercy with Miri.

She's been watching Miri ever since she found her and the school, but kept that part to herself. Talon knows nothing about this and she's been doing her own reckon.

"That girl, so little yet. Why does making me see her just keeps me wanting to come back?" She holds her head.

These feelings have been making Widowmaker strange and it's just keeps appearing more and more as she watches Miri, like she's the piece she needed the most. But she can't get her without Overwatch after her.

"I can only watch you, never touch you... Miri." She said.

Saying her name sounds so pure, something she never felt way before. Like a old feeling that has been cut growing back the more it's there and treated wall with the sight of a innocence helping it.

She gets up before she starts walking away, she puts on a coat to avoid being seen by the public, as this was her own secret. Something that goes against her programming but it just makes her feel alive.

Like her innocence helps her mind even more than what she could ever hope without anybody else, Akira was special but Miri was even more and she just can't be far away but she can't be too close for both sides knowing about what she's doing.

"One day, one day I will see why she's so important to me. And why does my chest feel pain like a longing to have something."

After that Miri returned back home and they all had fun with her with the group being happy to have her around, with Widowmaker back to Talon in the darkness that always surrounded her there.

Note: Heres a short chapter focusing on Mercy more as she hangs out with Akira and Miri showing how she likes Miri.
