Ch 9 Tonks 6.

Tonks got back up four hours later still rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She did get some sleep but it wasn't enough, she could not get rid of the things Sirius had told her. Dorea Potter/nee Black had been and was a Dark Witch. She was into Dark rituals and all kinds of Dark Magic. She was good at heart, but the same was said about Morgana back in her time. Sirius had told her he had lived with them for a little while when he had ran away from home. There he learned about a lot of Dark Ritiuals that were looked upon as bad but could be used for good if you applied them the right way. She told him why and how it was the same thing as light magic if you used it in a good way she had told James and him and Later she told it to Lilly.

While Tonks thought about it she knew that her mother was the same way. She had told her about Dark Rituals she could use to be better. She always said never to use rituals that would grow your Magic or life. Those were the things that could go wrong right away and it was just too dangerous. So she did wonder how her mother knew about all those things but then she remembered she had been a member of the darkest family there ever lived. Well, not really a member her mother had been kicked out because of her father. She hated the family because they hated a muggle-born just because he wasn't pure in blood. As she looked at her watch she could see she had enough time to go to her mother first.

Andromeda was sitting at her kitchen table. It was a quarter to ten and Amelia could walk out of the Floo at any moment now to get some coffee. It was the one thing they decided on and that was to keep the investigation as hushed as they could. The stories she had heard a day before were just too much to be true. Like Amelia, she didn't believe the stories completely but if they were true. She could not think about it without getting uneasy in her stomach.

When the Floo erupted she knew Amelia had arrived, when it activated again only a second later she looked up. She smiled when there was a scream and she instantly knew that Tonks had slammed into Amelia. Slowly she got up walked to the door and looked at the devastation her daughter had created. The look from Amelia was like a thunderstorm, but she didn't react. Tonks was clumsy and they all knew it, there was nothing to do about it. To be honest, the only one who could do something about it was Tonks herself.

"Sorry boss, I didn't know you were here, I'm sorry boss". Amelia just shook her head as she helped Tonks back to her feet. When Tonks followed her boss into the kitchen of her mother, her nerves took over again. The things she had found out the night before were suddenly dropped onto her shoulders and they were heavy. "Albus is keeping monitoring charms in the room of Harry".

Amelia started to curse like a sailor when she heard that little bit of information Tonks just shared with them. "I knew it, I knew it, That son of a bitch had the same charms in his office. They were working so he also placed them at the house". Amelia kept on walking left and right as she kept on cursing up a storm. Suddenly she stopped and looked at Tonks. "You go to Harry, Try to talk to him. If it works get his trust but most of all see if he is in danger. You take him out of there and back here. If he is not then you get his trust and keep on working on him to get what you need. But if there is danger take him here right away".

"Mam, why not take him out of there right away".

Amelia dropped into a chair and slowly calmed down. She took the cup of tea Andromeda handed to her, after a couple of sips she gave a deep sigh and looked up at them. "There is nothing more I would like to do than to get him out of there. But he is also the only lead we have on what is happening to him. Without him, we have nothing but thoughts and suspicions and no grounds to arrest anyone". Tonks wanted to say something but Amelia held up her hand. Yes, I know it is illegal to have monitoring charms on people. But for one it is Albus he is for most of us a God, Merlin reincarnated. So that alone will get him a get-free out of Azkaban card. The second is the boy who lived. Albus confesses and tells them he did it to protect him, another get-out-of-Azkaban free card. So we need some real stuff to on on him or we have no leg to stand on. Now if Harry is in real danger we got something because Albus and Fudge knew he was there. That will only make them responsible but still not guilty, accomplish, yes. But then we have the name Albus Dumbledore, the order of Merlin, and the defeater of a Dark Lord, another get out of Azkaban free card". Tonks gave a deep sigh as she slumped into the chair she was sitting in. "If Harry is in real Danger we can get him out of there, to protect him, Albus can't go against it. If he does go against it, it will be the same as a confession. Albus is smart enough to not do that. If we take Harry away while he is not in any real danger then we are facing kidnaping ourselves".

Tonks thought hard while she looked angry at the kitchen table like the table had done it all. "What about the way he is treated, like being locked up for days".

"Not something some of our pureblood assholes aren't doing to their own kids". Tonks looked at her with big eyes. "Malfoy, Parkinson, Grabb, Goyell, they all do it and they do even worse things we do not want to know. They can, because the law is on their side". The eyes of Tonks stood questioning so Amelia explained, "From the moment Harry Potter took care of Voldemort, The Dark Side of the Wizangemot started to make laws to help themselves, while Albus stood by and looked on while they did it. It is another thing we can't pin on Albus because it was all legal. Every time they slipped in a new law, we voted and when there was a majority, the law was passed".

Tonks was looking at her fingers and counted and she frowned when she got the answer. Amelia smiled at her and helped her out, "Yes, the Dark Side isn't big enough to get a majority. That was handled with bribes and one of the persons who filled his pockets was our own minister Fudge, and a lot on the neutral side".

"So, when Harry Potter was victorious and placed away from the magical world, the shit went downhill," Tonks asked".

"That is exactly what happened," Ted told his daughter as he walked into the kitchen. "It was a rough time and a lot of people tried to rebuild our world. While the good people started to help and rebuild our world, others were buying off people to stay out of jail. They gave money to rebuild the mess they made themselves and told lie after lie. It were hard times, but people also did things we did not like, but could do nothing about".

"Dad, what do you mean by that".

Ted looked at his wife and Amelia, both nodded and knew Tonks just had to know. "People like Lucius Malfoy and Parkinson bought their freedom. Not only that but also a spot at the Wizangemot". Tonks looked at her father and Ted saw that the light went off. "Exactly, when they got those seats, they made sure a lot of their friends got one too. The moment they got them they started to make laws and one was more discriminating than the next. Muggle-borns and Halfbloods got even fewer rights than they had before. A lot of the good people were rebuilding and the laws went by them. Now so many years later they are still making the laws and we are not big enough to go against it". Ted gave a deep sigh before he went on, "Now many years later they have corrupted the system and are taking money from places we need it the most. If the stories are true and Voldemort is back, then we will need the Auruor office. But under the watchful eyes of people like Malfoy, they got cutback on cutbacks on cutbacks. There used to be about two hundred Aurors in the time before Voldemort. Now you have about a hundred Aurors and half of them like the laws how they are".

Tonks knew what her father meant by those words. During the time she had been training to become an Auror, she had many arguments about the laws. Her boss had stood by her but many just took it the way they were. Not all of them were discriminating but a good way away from freedom. Purebloods were exempt from the things they did in their own home. It had been two long years for her and she had already seen enough. Rape, beatings, murders that looked like suicide, and suicides to get out of the hell hole they were in. The list was long, too long to name all the victums. In her two years, she had been sitting with a lot of witches who had no foot to stand on in their own homes. The abuse was real and the exemption for the Lord was always against them, every time. The next worse thing was that there were no divorces in the magical world so she was sure to visit a lot of them again and again in the coming years.

"Tonks" Amelia called out. Tonks was lost in her thoughts and didn't react. "Tonks".

"What, what".

"I called you twice, it is time for you to go and meet Harry Potter. Try to talk to him and see if he is in any immediate danger" Amelia told her and Tonks nodded. Just as she was about to take the Floo away Amelia called after her. "Don't take unnecessary risks, if you can talk to Harro Potter you talked to him when he is alone" Tonks nodded and went on.

First, she stepped out of the Floo at Grimbauld Place, She didn't say hi and walked on to the door. The next second she was standing in a little alleyway two streets away from Harry. As she looked at her watch she knew that Harry would not be home. He would be wandering around but he would never take the same route twice. In the days she had followed him she knew which places he would go and hide away. So with a stiff walk, she went all around looking for him or Remus. He was watching him right now so if she would find him first she would find Harry too. After about thirty minutes she saw Remus. He was looking around but there was no Harry to see. While she called out to him she kept on roaming her surroundings. She couldn't see any messy hairs sticking out so she didn't see Harry anywhere. When her eyes found something in the sky she had seen before, she looked at Remus, "You go home, I know where he is and he is save for now. I will go to him and keep my eye on him".

"Are you sure".

"Yes, Ramus I'm, I know where he is and if he isn't there you will get a Patronus from me within ten minutes". She didn't look back as she started to walk away. When she went around a second corner she saw the place Harry would be. The big wooden doors were shut but the little door at the side was open like it always was. Slowly she walked in and was immediately stopped at the door.

"Miss,".

Tonks looked up and saw the Pastor standing there. She bowed to him and followed him as he told her to do so. Tonks didn't know why but he was a Pastor so she followed. At the side, he stopped and pulled her a little further.

"You are here for the boy" Tonks nodded and looked at the front of the church where Harry was sitting. "That boy has been coming here every day and has been talking to God. Not only did he talk to God but also to the Goddess of Magic". Tonks looked at him "The Pastor smiled, don't worry my child, God knows all and the church knows about magic. Who else are you going to call when the Demons are among you".

While the Pastor looked over at Harry he turned Tonks back to him. "We at the church have taken away a lot of kids who were as the Parents told us possessed by demons. They had accidental magic and were treated horribly by their parents because of it. We took them away to be saved by us, while we placed them in the Magical orphanages to be among their peers. That boy is a hard case. He doesn't talk to any of us and he doesn't give any sign we are here. He gets in sits down starts to pray in his way and walks off after two or three hours. He has been coming here for about three weeks now and his first response was when you walked in. Before then we were pushed aside by his magic the moment we got too close".

This was again the proof that the Magic from Harry was reacting to all of them. She was not pushed away but she was felt all over. Susan and Hannah were also touched but she did not know what it all meant. Hermione and Ronald Weasley hadn't told her anything about that, did that mean they did not feel it, or was he pushing them away?

The Pastor gave her a moment before he went on where he had stopped. "Something changed about a week ago". Tonks listened to him and knew that it was about the same time she started to follow him around. "His Magic was still keeping us at a distance but we were allowed to talk to him. He is a polite boy but keeps on saying that he killed someone".

After those words, Tonks gave a deep sigh. She could see by the questioning look that she had to explain. "Sorry Father, It is a little complicated to explain. There was as you called it, a professor that was possessed by a Demon at his school. He got rid of the Possession, but by doing this, the professor died".

"Was it because of what he did?" the Pastor asked her.

Tonks stepped back and leaned against the wall. It was hard for her to say it because it was the version of Hermione and Ronald Weasley she had to tell him. Not the version of Harry. Now she was sure that he wasn't lying but the Auror in her told her he could have. "I have not heard his version yet but I did hear the one from others and there is no way he did it willingly. If he did it, it was by accident, or the Possession had been too far gone. But I do know he is blaming himself for it. The worst part of it all is that it happened three years ago and he was never given any help to deal with it, It was what I heard a week ago".

The Pastor gave her a little smile. "He has a good friend in you, but you have to earn his trust first. I do believe he did not kill the professor. If he was aggressive then he would have been it with us and he would not come in here looking for any kind of forgiveness".

"That is what I thought the last time I was here too. But I also know that I have one Hell of. Sorry, Father, I have a long way to go".

"You will get there my child, I have faith in you and so do God and the Goddess" After his last words he turned around and walked away.

Tonks waited a little bit before she walked further into the church and sat down a row behind Harry. She could again, hear him mumbling about something, but she could not make out the words. The one thing she did see was the hurt in his eyes as he looked up at the ceiling. "Harry" she called out.

Harry stopped his mumbling right after she had called out to him. At that moment she thought he would turn around and talk to her, but he didn't, he just got up and left. For a moment she sat there surprised but when she snapped out of it she rushed after him. It took her a while of wandering around before she found him again. When she did she called out to him again "Harry".

Again he didn't react and walked on so she followed him to the tunnel where he hid most of the time for half an hour or so, "Harry".

When her eyes opened she felt a pain in her head, she looked a little bit down and felt a forearm on her throat. Her eyes looked straight ahead and she looked into two emerald green eyes that promised hurt if she would do something. A little bit dizzy she realized that Harry had grabbed her and slammed her against the wall of the tunnel "I don't know who the hell you are, but you better not be one of Voldemort's men, because I will kill you right here right now".

The fear took a good hold of her as she looked into the eyes of Harry. From the side, she saw a light and as she glanced at it she saw his wand. He was good and fast she had to give him that. Her mouth opened but she could not say a word, she didn't know why but she just couldn't. His eyes were screaming at her, but there was also something about hesitation. He was angry and afraid, it was something she felt from his Magic that was now all over her. His hesitation gave her room to pull out the paper she got from Sirius. Slowly she held it out to him just high enough for him to see. There it was doubt and again hesitation as he looked at the paper. "Yes, Harry it's Padfoot, you can trust me". Harry let go of her and turned around, he didn't say a thing but just walked away. Tonks placed her hand around her throat, it hurt a little after Harry had pushed her against the wall. She could not blame him but it did tell her it would take a lot longer before he trusted her enough. The only thing that gave her a little hope was that he had taken the paper and didn't drop it as he walked away. After a moment of pulling herself together, she walked after him. It didn't take her long to find him again but she was not going to bother him again this night, that she would do tomorrow.

When she rounded the corner of his street she had lost him again. He wasn't at the left from her and he wasn't at the right. Just as she was about to leave it and stand watch she felt him behind her, "I don't trust you yet, but my magic does. I can't understand it but you have to prove yourself because I know you have been watching me from behind the little wall in the garden". Tonks stood still, as a statue when she heard his voice. Every word had an edge to it that spoke pain if she did not listen. So she just nodded and watched him walk by when he was done. It took her another moment before she dared to move again. When she got behind the wall she looked up and saw him looking at her from behind the window. There was a notice me not charm on the spot where she was standing, but he could still see her. How he was able to do that was frustrating to her, because as far as she knew, it was something, that could not be done.

Sirius was sitting next to Remus as he looked at how Molly was cooking for the family and the order. At first, he had not seen it but after Tonks had pointed it out, he could clearly see the way she was mixing the potion into the food and the drinks of all of them. Remus gave him a new tube with the antidote and both of them took it. They did not talk because they also knew she would be listening to every word they said. The moment Sirius gave Remus a smirk, Remus knew that Sirius was going to do something. "I'm so glad Albus has restarted the Order, what would we do without him".

Remus frowned but when he saw the smile on the face of Molly he knew what Sirius was doing. "Yes it is, to be honest, we would not know where to start without him, He truly is the best we can have".

"Glad you both see it that way too. Let's hope Tonks will see it too when she gets back" Molly told them as she placed a couple of plates before them. While she left the kitchen Remus shook his head as Sirius pushed his plate away. With a wave of his wand, he vanished the food and did like he had eaten it all. As he looked at the clock he knew Tonks could walk in any minute, while he thought it he could hear the umbrella stand fall down, and some curse words coming their way. "Did you find him after I left?" Remus asked her.

She nodded as she sat down, there was not much she could say right now. She had given Harry the note but she did not find out if that had been enough. "Yes, and I gave him the note, but he does not trust me, I think he doesn't trust anyone of us right now".

"Why wouldn't he, he knows we got his back," Sirius told her while Remus nodded along.

"Do we?" Tonks asked and both nodded again. "I know he asked for help from his friends, but they did not give it to him. He did ask for help from Remus but again he didn't give any just like the other adults in his life, they do not respond or do anything for that matter. Now I also know he knows we have been watching him and following him, don't ask me how he knows but he knows. So while we are leaving him in the dark we are also treating him as if he is a danger to all of us. He might not be locked up but we are treating him that way by keeping him out of our world".

sirius didn't understand while Remus hung his head. As he looked from Tonks to Remus he was thinking a lot. "You know what she means and you are a part of it, aren't you".

Remus stood and walked to the door. He opened it and looked around. When he got back he held an ear in his hands, "Sorry boys, this is not for you" he gave the string a jerk and heard some grumbling from upstairs. When he closed the door he threw up a silencing charm and sat down again. "Tonks is right but we just didn't know what we were doing. After Tonks made us drink the antidote it became clear. We were following Albus in everything he asked and while we did, we also turned our back against Harry"Sirius wanted to say something but Remus held up his hands. "I know it is because of the potions but Harry might not see it that way. Tell me Sirius how could we blame him, it took you a year before you forgave me for abandoning you. I never came to you to ask you about it, and that is hard to forgive. Now looking at Harry's side, we gave up on him for the third time, his childhood, after the third year and what will he say when he knows I'm one of his protectors? I bet he will not look at me guarding him as a protection".

Before he could go on the door opened and Molly walked back in. The moment she did, Tonks canceled the silencing charm. Molly started to fill up the plates as the rest of her family came down. "Hurry up, we will have a meeting tonight and you are not allowed to join," she told the kids while she kept her eyes on Tonks looking if she took any of her food. Tonks knew it and just eat the things Molly had made. The smile from molly told her enough and she was glad she knew what Molly did to the food.

Harry had been looking out of the window. He was still holding on to the paper this woman had given him. Pink hair was something he did not see often but somehow he knew he knew her from somewhere. She knew Sirius because she had called him Padfoot. When he had looked at the paper he didn't see padfoot anywhere. There were only a couple of words on it and it told him he could trust her and his paw print. It was the first time he heard anything from Sirius or the other side. He was mad because he didn't hear from any of the others and the longer it took the more he hated them. Ronald had turned his back on him many times before and this was one time too many according to him. Hermione was the same, sure she did help him in the fourth year but she also didn't believe him at the start. During his second year, Hermione kept her distance from him at first when they thought he had been the heir of Salizar. While he had told them everything she had kept one of the biggest secrets from him, the one that she had a time turner.

While he held the paper up he knew that she could still be one of Voldemort's helpers. They could have gotten to Sirius and pulled him into a trap. If they had him he could have told him his name and he would never know. For now, he would see if she would talk to him again. He might not talk back, but he could listen. While he sat on the floor he wanted to write a letter to someone, but no one had ever written back to him so why bother?

With a last look out of the window, he looked at who was standing guard now. He did not know if it was true but it looked that way to him. If it was someone who sent them, was it Dumbledore or had it been Voldemort? Again he saw this creepy guy who looked like he was drunk half of the time, he did not know him so it could be anyone. All the others had noticed me not charms on them. He could not see them but he saw a rippling in the air like he was looking through a little sheet of weather. With this guy it was all different, he could clearly see him sitting there against the wall, sleeping. maybe he didn't do the charm or he just could not do it.

As he stood there he thought back to the start of last year. He had dreamed about Voldemort and Peter. Hermione told him to go to Albus, Ronald told him to ignore him while the Headmaster did nothing. He didn't stand up for him all year. He didn't do anything about his dreams, or his name coming out of the Gobled. Albus even stood to the side when the whole school turned on him. He let go of a deep sigh and went back to bed, sleep would not come for the rest of the night but he was used to it.

Tonks was eating the dinner Molly had made and knew she either had to play ball or do as if she was under the potion. Or she would do like she had been doing so far and just pretend that the potion had no effect at all. That night there was another meeting but it was the same as the others. Albus told them to watch Harry. While Severus, just acted like he was this hero. It frustrated her but she just went with it. After that, she went to her room and lay down. Her mind was on Harry and she hoped he would just talk to her for real come tomorrow, he didn't have to trust her yet, but she at least hoped he would talk to her. That was her last thought before she drifted off to sleep.

This was it again for this time see you all in two weeks.
