Three years later...

Sakura wrinkled her nose when Kakashi passed by her. "Kakashi, you stink!" she complained. "I thought you just went to train? Why do you smell like rotten meat?"

Kakashi looked at her confused. "Rotten meat? I am the one with canine nose. I don't smell anything."

Sakura sighed, shaking her head. "Well, I do, and it's not pleasant. Go take a shower before you come near me."

Kakashi chuckled, amused by Sakura's straightforwardness. "Alright, alright. I'll take a quick shower."

Sakura smiled as he entered the shower. She doesn't really smell anything rancid on him. As usual, Kakashi smelled like sweat and earth and it's not unpleasant on him. For some reason, he actually smells good. She just left something for him on the bathroom that she wants to show him.

"Sakura?" Kakashi called out to her.

Sakura turned towards the bathroom door, responding to Kakashi. "Yes?"

Kakashi peeked out from behind the door, a towel draped over his shoulder. "What's this?" he asked, holding up a small white stick.

"Guess, husband." Sakura said in a sing-song voice.

Kakashi's eyes widened as realization slowly dawned on him. He looked at the small white stick in his hand, then back at Sakura, his expression a mix of surprise and joy.

"Sakura, is this...?" he started, his voice filled with excitement. "Is this a pregnancy test?" he asked, stepping out of the bathroom.

Sakura grinned, nodding her head. "Yes, Kakashi. It's a pregnancy test."

Kakashi's eyes sparkled with happiness as he rushed towards Sakura, lifting her off the ground in a tight embrace. "Are we going to be parents?" he exclaimed, his joy contagious.

Sakura laughed, enjoying Kakashi's enthusiastic reaction. "Looks like it, husband. Looks like it."

Kakashi gently set Sakura down, cupping her face in his hands and placing a soft kiss on her lips. "I can't believe it. We're going to have a baby. A mini-you." he looked at her full of adoration, the same look at Pakkun would occasionally give Kakashi.

"Or a mini-you." she said back. "You're going to be a father."

"Father." he repeated dreamily, he looked at her. "I'm going to be a father, Sakura." He scooped her up and twirled them.

"Hey, Kakashi." Sakura swatted his arm playfully. "Put me down. I'm pregnant."

Kakashi immediately stopped twirling and gently placed Sakura back on her feet. "Right, right. Pregnant. I got a little carried away there."

"You're really okay with it?" Sakura asked as soon as she's back on her feet. "I mean, we didn't plan for this. And with you being on the mission almost every week now. Wouldn't this hinder your progress as a shinobi?"

Kakashi looked at Sakura with a reassuring smile. "Sakura, I am more than okay with it. In fact, I'm overjoyed. Can you imagine it, Sakura? A baby! A family of our own."

He caressed her cheek. "Being a shinobi is part of who I am. But it's not my whole. As for the missions, I can request for lower rank missions or have another arrangement. I'll talk to the Hokage. It's important that I'm here." He leaned in to press a firm kiss on her forehead. "Our family comes first." he murmured.

Sakura looked at him, asking for reassurance. "You're really okay with it? We're not a burden to you?"

Kakashi cupped Sakura's face, looking into her eyes with sincerity. "Sakura, you and our baby are the best things that have ever happened to me. You're not a burden; you're my everything. I'm more than okay with it. I'm thrilled to be a father, and I'll do everything in my power to support you and our growing family. This is a new chapter in our lives, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Sakura's eyes welled up with happy tears, overwhelmed by Kakashi's unwavering love and commitment. She embraced him tightly, feeling a sense of completeness and joy in the prospect of their expanding family.

"So," Kakashi started with a teasing tone. "am I really stinky or you just need an excuse for me to go to the bathroom?"

Sakura chuckled, swatting Kakashi playfully. "Actually, you really does smell, just a little bit. I just noticed now."

"Really?" Kakashi asked, smelling himself. He wrinkled his nose. "Yeah, maybe a bit."

Sakura laughed, shaking her head. "Well, it's a good thing you're going to take a shower now. We wouldn't want our baby to be born thinking their dad smells like rotten meat, would we?"

Kakashi grinned, playfully rolling his eyes. "Definitely not. I'll make sure to stay fresh and clean for our little one."

As Kakashi headed back to the bathroom, Sakura couldn't help but marvel at the turn of events in their lives. From facing the challenges of Sakura's past to now eagerly anticipating the arrival of their child, their journey had been filled with ups and downs. Yet, through it all, their love had remained a constant source of strength.

As Sakura sat on the bed, waiting for Kakashi to finish his shower, she gently placed a hand on her still-flat abdomen. The thought of their baby growing inside her filled her with a sense of awe and wonder. She whispered words of love and warmth, promising to create a happy and loving home for their little one.

When Kakashi emerged from the bathroom, now clean and refreshed, he found Sakura smiling radiantly. He smiled at her and walked towards her. "You know, I didn't think that this will be possible." he admitted. "We've been so caught up in our lives that we forgot about these possibilities."

"Me too." Sakura answered, looking at her stomach. "But our baby is here now. I just hope I won't be like Mama." she added in a small voice.

Kakashi knelt down in front of Sakura, taking both of her hands in his. "Sakura, you are nothing like your mother." he reassured her. "You're not abusive and you don't have a violent bone in you. So I know that you'll never be like her."

"Are you sure?" Sakura asked. "You know what they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm her daughter, I... I might do the same things that she did." she said in a small voice.

"She may be your mother, but Dad was the one who you grew up with." Kakashi reasoned. "Did Dad ever laid a hand on you? Well, except for trainings?"

"No, he didn't," Sakura admitted, a small smile playing on her lips. "Dad was always patient and caring. He never resorted to violence."

Kakashi nodded. "Did he ever shouted at you? Or starved you? Or us, in that matter?"

"No, he didn't," Sakura replied, shaking her head. "Dad was strict at times, especially when it came to training, but he never subjected us to the kind of cruelty my mother did. He provided a stable and loving environment for us."

Kakashi squeezed Sakura's hands gently. "Exactly. We both grew up surrounded by love and care, not violence and abuse." he reasoned. "You have the power to break the cycle, Sakura. You're not destined to repeat your mother's mistakes. We'll create a home filled with love and understanding for our child." He traced soothing circles on her knuckles. "And Dad will be here too. He will make sure that we always put our best foot forward."

Sakura's eyes softened, and she nodded, feeling a sense of reassurance in Kakashi's words. "You're right, Kakashi. We have the power to create a different path for our family, filled with love and warmth. And with Dad's guidance, we'll build a home where our child can thrive."

Kakashi smiled, leaning in to press a tender kiss on Sakura's forehead. "That's the spirit, Sakura. We'll be the best parents we can be, and our child will grow up surrounded by love and happiness."

As they embraced the joyous news of their upcoming parenthood, Sakura and Kakashi knew that this new chapter in their lives would bring its own set of challenges and joys. Yet, with their love and commitment to each other, and the support of their extended family, they were ready to face whatever the future held for them.
