Chapter 500 Big Game

Miles away from Zimtopia, the Prize Ball Guardian traveled back to Gumbaldia with the few surviving Safety Bots and the Topiary Bush Dragon flying overhead. Inside the massive mech's control room, were Double Bubblegum, Green Knight, Sir Slicer, Green Knight, Mochio, Thromnambular, and the damaged form of Arnold. Thromnambular had broken off from his battle with Simon to assist Sir Slicer and the others to escape Zim's palace. He figured since they were enemies of Simon and his allies they could help him hurt the old wizard and get his revenge. Thromnambular told Double Bubblegum and the others a bit of his past and how he hated Simon and wanted to hurt and destroy him. Double Bubblegum and the others were thrilled to have a powerful magic user on their team to help destroy both Simon and Bubblegum.
"So what kind of plans do you have to deal with Simon and his allies?" Asked Thromnambular.
"Well we have a massive army at our disposal." Said Sir Slicer.
It was then that a screen on the wall suddenly lite up and the smiling face of Black Hat appeared.
"My oh my what a interesting gathering here." Said Black Hat.
"Black Hat, to what do we owe this little call?" Said Double Bubblegum.
"I have been monitoring your communications and have been using my drones to monitor current events all over Ooo. Some interesting things have been happening lately with Bubblegum's return. Seems like she wishes to return to the past using the Timenado to undo this future. I imagine that Gumbald doesn't want that to happen and I don't want that to happen either. I wish to provide my services to you to put an end to both Bubblegum, Simon, and the rest of Sanctuary." Said Black Hat.
"What exactly do you have in mind?" Asked Thromnambular.
"The best way to go after heroes is to go for the heart." Said Black Hat as his smile spread wider.
Back at Zimtopia, Bubblegum got Zim to tell her where he had found Malruant and the shoe that had contained Schmoz. She then had a look a look at Zim's time weapons and found a series of large powerful time freeze bombs capable of freezing entire cities for a total of twelve hours. Bubblegum decided to use some of the time freeze bombs to deal with the Breakfast Kingdom, the Lizard Kingdom, and Farmer Village. She didn't want to fight any of those places and she needed a way to temporarily take their armies out of the picture when Bubblegum and her allies went after Gumbaldia. Bubblegum summoned Citrus Twisty and had her use her magic to deliver the time bombs and hide them in the Breakfast Kingdom, Lizard Kingdom, and Farmer Village and hide them. She had a signal launcher installed into her armor that would set the bombs off whenever she was ready.
After setting things up, Bubblegum and the others loaded up on the Omini Transport and headed on to the Mountain Kingdom. Citrus Twisty stayed behind in Zimtopia to make sure Zim didn't try to pull any stunts and the Elementals turned into their respective element to travel along with Bubblegum and the others. Earth turned into some dirt that clung to the Omini Transport, Wind turned into some swirls of wind that traveled alongside the Omini Transport, and Fire shrunk down and disguised herself as some flames that looked like part of X's body. So far the mission to recruit the freed territories to fight against Gumbaldia had been very successful. Peridot decided to put some music on and the song I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers began to play and Marceline, Lucinda, and Django sang along with the song.

The others cheered and clapped for the performance. Everyone was in high spirits, including Bubblegum. Eventually they reached the territory of the Mountain Kingdom and were greeted by a mix of dwarfs, Coal People, Rock People, Crystal People, moles, groundhogs, prairie dogs, and a few armadillos. All the locals were armed with pickaxes, hammers, axes, spears, shovels, guns, slingshots, and dynamite. A dwarf motioned for Bubblegum and her allies to exit the vehicle and they did as they were instructed. Bubblegum was about to speak, but the dwarf spoke first.
"We know why you're here. Follow us to our leader."
The group was escorted into one of the mountains. They were lead into a large throne room where a muscular dwarf sat on a throne. The dwarf had a big red swollen looking nose and a long black beard. He was shirtless and only wore blue pants, black shoes, and a horned metal helmet with deer antlers.
"King Beardbottom, we have brought Queen Bubblegum and her protectors to you." Said a mole bowing to the dwarf on the throne.
"So it is as the representative from the Gridface Kingdom has said." Said King Beardbottom.
"Someone from the Gridface Kingdom told you of our coming?" Asked Chicle.
"They did. We have heard tales of Queen Bubblegum's return and your exploits around Ooo, recruiting the freed territories to fight against Gumbaldia." Said King Beardbottom.
"So you must already know why we are here. Will you join our cause?" Said Bubblegum.
"Not until you pass a test to prove that you are a worthy cause to follow." Said King Beardbottom.
"What kind of test do you have?" Asked Bubblegum.
"Well it's not my test, but a test created by the Gridface Kingdom. If you pass it, you will not only get the help of the Mountain Kingdom, but also the help from the Gridface Kingdom as well." Said King Beardbottom.
"That's great!" Said Bubblegum.
"So what exactly is this test?" Asked Neddy.
King Beardbottom looked over to some shadows and nodded his head. A bald man who appeared to be entirely silhouetted stepped out of the shadows. The newcomer had glowing green eyes and wore shoes, pants, and long-sleeved shirt with large cufflinks at the end.
"Greetings Queen Bubblegum, I am Silico. I am a representative of the Gridface Kingdom, as well as it's champion, and a genius video game designer and creator." Said the man in a robotic voice
"Silico? I never heard of the Gridface Kingdom's champion." Said Bubblegum.
"I kept a low profile and most of my exploits were through the various security systems I developed for my kingdom." Said Silico.
"Wait, how old are you?" Asked Django.
"I'm over eight hundred years old. My kingdom developed a way to digitize our consciousnesses and preserve them on the grid. We then developed a process to download our consciousnesses into highly advanced robotic bodied." Said Silico as he conjured up a floating keyboard made out of solid green light with a screen and began typing on it displaying images of computers and robots on his screen.
"Most impressive." Said Bubblegum before a image of Gridface Princess's face suddenly appeared on the screen.
"Greetings Bubblegum, it has been a very long time since I last saw you." Said Gridface Princess.
"Its good to see you Gridface Princess, so what exactly is this challenge you have for me?" Said Bubblegum.
"Well as you already know my champion Silico is a video game designer and creator. He has designed a online video game he calls Venture Point. It is a very hard and popular game and a special quest has been created just for you. If you are able to finish the quest, you will gain both the support of the Gridface Kingdom and the Mountain Kingdom." Said Gridface Princess.
"Sounds simple enough. Can you give me some more details about what I'll be going up against?" Said Bubblegum.
"Well I can't go into too much details, that would ruin the experience and surprise. I will tell you will be allowed to bring five of your companions into the game and you will be facing off against a few other teams and players as well as enemies and bosses in the game." Said Gridface Princess.
"Choose your companions wisely." Said King Beardbottom.
Bubblegum studied her companions closely as she mentally went through their skills. She was going to need both brain and brawn for this challenge. Bubblegum decided to pick Neddy and Chicle as he first two party members.
"Two can become one." Said Peridot before she and Lapis fused to form Turquoise.
Bubblegum smiled at her friends' cleverness, before she chose Marceline and Lucinda as the final members of the party.
"Interesting choices. Let us more to the game chairs." Said Silico.
The group was lead out of the throne room, to what appeared to be a large game room/theater. Six easy boy chairs with strange helmets and visors were sitting in front of a large tv screen. A large group of the Mountain Kingdom residence were seated in rows behind the six chairs looking at the tv screen.
"The chairs are for relaxing and the helmets will beam your minds into Venture Point to begin the quest. The tv will allow us to monitor you as you go on your journey." Explained Silico.
"Well here goes nothing." Said Bubblegum as she and her part took their seats.
"Good luck." Said Simon as Bubblegum and the others placed the helmets on their heads.
"Commencing load up and start up." Said Silico typing some keys on his keyboard.
The next thing Bubblegum knew, she and the others in her party were in a dark cave, when suddenly a giant floating head that resembled Silico's head appeared floating before them.
"Greetings players. Welcome to Venture Point's special quest Castle Crawl. Your mission is to make your way to the castle of the evil Count Nogrog and fight your way through to Count Nogrog and defeat him to win the quest. Be warned both the path to the castle as well as the castle itself are full of many dangers. Good luck." Said the head before it vanished.
The group headed to what appeared to be the exit and found a enormous landscape that resembled a bit of Ooo with a tall large castle that must be Count Nogrog's castle in the distance. Chicle used his cybernetic eye to zoom in on the castle and the area around it and already he could see what appeared to be the castle enemies, which consisted of skeleton warriors fighting what must have been the players of the game. Chicle told the others what he saw.
"So wait other people are playing this game trying to beat this quest?" Asked Turquoise.
"Appears so. I wonder what happens if any of them beat Count Nogrog before us?" Said Chicle.
"Let's not find out. Come on we have a quest to do." Said Neddy.
With that said the team made their way to the castle ready to take on whatever the game had to throw at them.
