Dragon Ball: Space Adventures

Prologue

A million miles away

Uub slowly opened his eyes, his whole body felt heavy and tired, as if he had just come from a arduous training session with his teacher, slowly, he looked around, he was on that ship, and in front, a dark sky filled with glowing spots brightened the vacuum of the skies. He stared in awe for a few moments, the space was darker than any cloudy, moonless night. So invisibly obscure that hadn't been for the spots he wondered how could have he known there was anything at all. It didn't seem like he could call it a color, he felt like he was staring at the fate that awaited him. Death, empty and filled with nothing, like the last second before one sleeps.
Uub decided to shook his heads from those thoughts, he had better things to care about, and gradually, his mind began to remember more and more, He was on a ship traveling across space, trying to find the dragon balls. That was step one, next, he tried to move, but nothing happened. Slowly, he looked down at his seat, and he raised both eyebrows, why he was chained?
Usually, it would have been child's play to free himself from being tied, but for some reason all his strength seemed to have banished. Quietly, as a thousand lights seemed to pass them by, a few steps could be heard approaching, and an orange bandana appeared behind the wall.
Uub knew who she was, he had seen her angrily staring at him after he arrived, he didn't know her name, but the one thing he knew was that she was definitely up to no good, Her face contorted itself in a grin of happiness and peace, seemingly enjoying him sitting there, chained and defenseless.
—How effective did you say this was?-The girl spoke, she had a soft but bossy tone, and her eyes reminded him of someone he had seen in the past, but he couldn't remember seeing that many city girls or from where it was.
—I made it. It will work. – Quietly, a girl with blue-hair appeared from behind. She was wearing a red top with a red skirt, and light-brown tail went around her body, almost like a tie. Uub knew exactly who that had to be, she was Bulma's Briefs daughter, or at least related to her, she looked just the same as her mother, even the voice had that same glamorous tone as her.
—He has been training with Goku for the past seven years.- The girl had a tone of distrust, as if she expected him to free himself and start throwing kicks, but even then, she remained with both arms on her hips, ready to react.
—And?- The blue-haired girl said, raising an eyebrow. —Not even my father could free himself from this. -She stated proudly.
—Ahem. - Both girls turned to him in an instant, and with her left leg, the black-haired girl turned the chair he was in towards them, both stared at him with an intense look of interest, eagerly waiting for his first thoughts.
—May I be released?
—No.- They both replied in unison.

Uub had many problems. First, he really needed to go to the bathroom, he had never regretted more ignoring an advice. "You should always go before doing something like this" Trunks Briefs, his crewmate and pilot, had told him, but he decided that it wasn't a big deal, what was the worst thing that could happen? He had never felt dumber in his life.
Still, the young boy remained calm, there was no point in losing his wits now. Especially when neither girl was doing it first. The blue-haired girl came near him to check something on the controller, and as quickly as she came, she went back, some odd directions were showed and then, nothing. Nothing had happened, something told Uub this had been rehearsed, but that did raise another question, why hadn't his teacher appeared yet? Surely he'd appear in any second. Granted, he was deep into inter-stellar space, in a place so far away that distances began to lose meaning, where numbers and moments were like banishing ray of lights as they go down the sunset, and yet, something told Uub that wasn't going to stop him at all.
—I hope you're not waiting for him to show up.- The bandana girl said. Even as the minutes passed, she stood still, carefully staring at him with the same stern look on her face. Uub wondered what was her problem.
—Because he's not going to.- Uub thought it was odd how comfortable this seat was, he was chained and his hand and legs were tied to the chair, but the cushion still seemed second to none.
—This whole ship is covered in a shielding device, they'll never find us. –After this mission was done, he'd had to go and ask Mr. Trunks if he could buy the seat, he had never sat in something this nice before. The thought and idea seemed too rude to him, but the feeling of watching a sunrise sitting on this chair was very welcoming. Perhaps he could pay for it with some work, and then give everyone back at his village a chair as comfortable, but then, his bladder reminded him of the main problem at hand.
—May I ask one question?.- Uub asked, looking at the Bandana girl. She put both of her hands on her hips as reply.
—…What is it?
—Can I go to the bathroom?
The girl smiled smugly.
—You're kidding, right?- Uub shook his head. He Really needed to go.
—How old do you think I am? -. Uub looked at her up and down, She was very tall for a girl and was wearing very revealing clothes, her red shirt stopped near her navel, but in contrast, her face seemed very young, it had an air of youth and carelessness that reminded him of the younger kids of his village.
—Nine?- Uub soon realized that was the wrong answer, as a vein appeared on her forehead, accompanied by a very angry smile.
—I'm twelve.- she said offended.
Uub made a grin of pain, both because he recognized that answer had gotten him further away from the bathroom, and because could feel his entire body tightening in an attempt to not piss himself, with a pained smile, he attentively nodded at the girl "Please?" the smile said. The bandana girl looked at him up and down, and sighed.
She moved towards the chair, and dis-locked the chains, soon he was free, but with the handcuffs still on him, still, he could use his hands, and that was all he cared. Both walked alongside and stopped in front of a door, the girl opened it, and let him pass. The bathroom had beige floors and beige walls, and in contrast the sink was cream-colored. It all looked like a royal bathroom to him.

Uub prepared to do his business, and when he turned to the right, he saw the girl keeping the door open, staring directly at him.
—C-could you close the door?
The girl shook her head.
—I'm watching your every move, don't you even think of getting smart with me.
Getting smart with me?
—I understand your concerns, but I cannot do it unless you turn around. - He wanted some privacy, he couldn't phantom the idea of being watched while doing his necessities. His five minutes of peace.
The girl smiled.
—Tough luck.
Uub attentively stared at her with eyes that begged for mercy, he could feel the bladders screaming at the top of his lungs: "I can't hold it anymore" They yelled at him.
The girl sighed again and turned around. And with a speed that Uub hadn't known he had, he unzipped his pants, sat on the tub and proceeded to pee.
A wave of peace and tranquility rushed all right his body, as if he were a monk that had achieved harmony with one self. Uub turned to his left again, and spotted the blue-haired girl staring at him and then the other girl with a severely confused look. He immediately moved his eyes away, filled with shame.
—What in god's name are you doing? - Said the girl, wondering what was wrong with her crewmate. The black-haired girl, tilted her head, feeling judged by the tone.
—I'm keeping an eye on him- She said, indicating with her head towards Uub, that begged release from this fate.
—And?
The black-haired girl turned towards her, incapable of believing she was being questioned.
—He could try something!- She said, feeling like she was being treated as a crazy person.
The blue haired girl sighed and moved forwards, closing the door. Uub sighed in relief, finally, he had privacy, and after he finished, he thought of getting up, but something inside, something deeper he didn't understand, told him to stay put, he wondered what it was, was it his teacher? Was he going to be saved? He almost thanked kami out loud, and then, when he tried to reach for his pants on the floor, and once he did, the door was slapped wide-open.
—Stop That! I'm not going to have someone openly pissing in my ship!
—I'm making sure he doesn't escape, if you didn't want me doing that then maybe you should have closed the doors when I told you!
Uub ignored the commotion and sadly got his pants up, any time, any second, his teacher would appear, and all of this would end. He'd just have to wait.
—I was putting the coordinates!
—Well would you look that! Now we have him! Great job genius!
He just hopped he wouldn't take long.
— You could have caught him and then thrown him off the ship!
—At then they would have known it was us!
—Does it matter? They were gonna know sooner or later!
—This is your hostage, why don't you take care of him!?
—Fine!
—Fine!
Both girls roared, almost hissing at each other. The black-haired girl sighed angrily and went towards a room on the other side. Uub calmly stared at the other girl, he had a solid head over her.
The blue-haired girl groomed her head and accommodated all her spiky hairs, and after she exhaled deeply, she looked at him with her light-blue-colored eyes and with her left index finger indicated him to follow her. Uub calmly followed her until they re-entered the ship's lounge, and then, with the same finger, she pointed at an extreme of the ship.
—Sit.
She ordered him, Uub raised one eyebrow almost offended. He wasn't some slave to be ordered around. Sure, she was the daughter of a noble and the daughter of his teacher's best friend, but that didn't mean anything, he wasn't going to kneel.
—Fine, stay standing, do as you please. - The girl said, bothered at his lack of compromise. —But remember, do not touch anything related to the ship's controls. As we speak, we are traveling at a speed much greater than that of the speed of light, if you as simply wave a finger in the wrong panel, you can send us directly to our deaths or the deaths of billions, is that clear?
Uub nodded in reply, he wasn't the captain nor he would pretend he knew a word what she had said, because as it stood, his plan was good enough for him.
With that, the blue-haired girl smiled, and extended her left hand towards him. Uub thought she was going to give him a hand-shake, but she waved her hand over head and tilted her body forward, bowing to him.
—I'm bulla Eschalot Briefs. Welcome aboard C.C.-I.- She said, raising once again.
Uub bowed back and smiled.
—I'm Uub.
He replied simply. The girl seemed to be ignored what had just occurred, and if she would, he would too. Bulla nodded and smiled, and turned around towards the room where the other girl was.
—I'm sorry Miss Briefs, could I ask you question?
Bulla turned around and stared at him with both arms closed.
—Could you release me?
Bulla looked at him from up and down and then at his eyes.
—No.- She said.

Uub wandered around the ship's filled with curiosity, even with the sudden kidnapping he still would have to get used to the walls of his new home, this mission of his was not one he allowed himself to either fall or leave. His teacher, Son Goku, had requested him to accompaniate him alongside the stars and beyond, how could he say no?
Uub entered one of the rooms of the ship, he assumed it was the kitchen. The room was compacted by a small sink, above, it had a drawer for dishes and glasses. To the right, a small table with three chairs stood still and beyond It, a small refrigerator was besides the sink, accompaniated by a few stacked boxes that were chained. That was his life now, for a year to on, that was gonna be his life.
It all had happened so fast. He had been training with his teacher like any other day, and cleaning the lookout after the mess, then the skies turned dark, and a giant red Dragon appeared. It was so large he occupied the entire skies, embalming the clouds as if it were toys, Uub felt like the eyes of the beast were simply bigger than the lookout itself. It was the legendary Shen-Long, or so he thought. Apparently, he never was red, although he didn't know who the people who summoned him were. Were they his teacher's friends? Old enemies? It didn't really matter, as their intended wish was quickly used by his master to repair the lookout. Nothing seemed wrong, so he left soon after, and it was weird when Son Goku appeared in his home hours later, but then, everything made sense. The Dark Dragon Balls, the ones first made by the old Kami of this world, were a magical object of extreme power, and their limits were beyond comprehension— but there was a massive downside to all of it. In a year, if not returned, the planet would suffer a cataclysm that no one could stop.
To travel across the infinite skies of the cosmos was a terrifying thought— but it was necessary, and he was not alone. Accompanied by his teacher, Son Goku, and the technological genius and pilot, Trunks Briefs, the travel promised to be nothing more than a long and adventurous voyage. He had arrived at the C.C. company a bright smile. A new chapter in his life and when he entered the ship, the last thing he saw was an orange bandana.

Uub had the uttermost trust on his master, he had seen him do countless things he had thought were impossible. He had never thought a man could fly, he would go and do it. He had never thought a man could destroy a mountain, and he had never seen him do it, but he knew it was possible ever since he learned the Kamehameha. Nothing was beyond his teacher reach, but as time passed, he began to worry more and more. After the first fifteen minutes, he decided that maybe he could be having some problem tracking him down, after thirty minutes, he decided to stretch and do his best in training. In the other room, the girls seemed to be arguing. The black-haired girl wanted nothing more than to chain him, and Bulla couldn't care less. After a while, the taller girl, left the room very angrily. Uub, currently touching his feet, decided to pretend that whatever argument that occurred near him was not happening.
The girl angrily stared at him, meanwhile, Uub wonder about why he couldn't feel the KI currents through his body. All his muscles worked perfectly, but for some reason, when he got up and tried to concentrate all his energy to his feet and fly, all of it remained locked, diminished, as if something held it tight inside of him. It had to be handcuffs, there was no other way. Uub look upwards again, and the black-haired girl was nowhere to be seen. After a few seconds, she reappeared from the Kitchen, carrying a capsule. He had heard of them before, small objects that carried inside an army of whatever it was needed of them.
The girl sat in front of him, with the same angry grin, and activated the capsule. With a small pop, over a dozen plates appeared in front of him. Meat, vegetables, everything he could think off. Uub wondered if this was a play of some kind, or perhaps he was taking it wrong, perhaps she was just trying to be nice, trying to make amends on her own way, and for about a few seconds, that illusion was upheld, until the girl grabbed a fork and attacked the food.
Uub did nothing but to watch in dismay as the girl devoured everything. Every plate, every piece of food was absorbed so fast into her throat he doubted the girl was a human. She couldn't be.
—STOP!- he hurried to say, the girl raised one eyebrow confused, as she slurped a hand sized ball of spaghetti straight into her stomach.
—Wktat?
—Y-you're eating everything!
—So wkat?
Uub shook his head with a mix of confusion and horror, but then, something clicked, the girl continued to eat, and his memory brought to the brain the recollection. He knew then in that singular instant who she was, there couldn't be no mistake, he had heard it from his teacher a few times, and who other than to have such a furious appetite than someone related to him. In front, gouging a leg deep into the bone, was the girl called Pan.
He didn't knew much about her other than she had been with his teacher at that fated tournament and that he had train her for some time, he could barely recall seeing her, she had grown quite a lot since then. In a way, he felt more peaceful once he remembered, he was less stunned and worried, if his teacher had trained her, then maybe it wouldn't be that bad.
—Well, we have a very long journey ahead of us. —He said, much more relaxed now— we must ration our food. - Everything made sense to him now, and he felt mountains better having been caught so stupidly by her. It hadn't been just some random girl, who other than Son Goku's granddaughter than to catch him on guard? If anything, it almost felt like it was a lesson from his teacher.
—We have thousands of these, and we brought even more just in case. So quit complaining. -Although Uub wondered what was her problem. Had he been rude? Sure, he hadn't properly said greetings, but he also hadn't had the time either. He wondered if he should apologize, but he didn't want to, he didn't even know why. Then, his stomach roared, her speed as she ate did cause him a mild sensation of vomit, but as long as he focused on something else it probably wouldn't be that bad.
—Can I have one?
He asked. Pan sighed and directed her hand towards one plate, it had noodles and eggs. With a nod, he thanked her, and grabbed the wooden utencilies with some trouble, the handcuffs were in the way and he'd had to held the plate with one hand and the utencilies with the other, he had good hands, but he'd rather not be chained as he ate.
Quietly, he looked up to Pan.
—May I ask you a question?
He said, mustering a softer tone. She raised her head momentarily, she was in the process eviscerating the chicken from its bone.
—Could you release me?
—No.
She said, and went back to her food.
Uub attentively stared at her for a moment, and looked at his plate of food. It was going to be a long trip.
