*Everything remains the same until the fight over the Sorcerer's Stone.*
"Get the stone!" Voldemort commanded.
Quirrell reached out for Harry, but as soon as their skin touched, two things happened: Quirrell's skin started to burn and Voldemort gasped. "No, it can't be!" Voldemort exclaimed.
Quirrell, not wanting to disappoint his master, reached out to Harry again despite his skin still burning, only for Voldemort to shout, "STOP!"
Quirrell stopped, confused. "Master?"
"Let me speak to him face to face!" Voldemort demanded.
Even though he was still confused, Quirrell obeyed and turned around. "Harry, I would suggest going to Gringotts and getting an inheritance test from the goblin's. Things are not what they seem."
"Why should I believe you? You killed my parents!"
"Yes, I killed Lily, but I did not kill James. I don't believe Lily was your mother. Go to Gringotts and get that test! It will reveal more."
Harry stared. "And just how am I to get there? I live with muggles."
Voldemort hissed before speaking. "Ask Snape to take you. I believe he is your godfather."
Harry's jaw dropped. "No. That's impossible! Not with how he's treated me!"
Voldemort frowned before sighing. Feeling that his host was about to die, he shouted at Harry, " Go to Gringotts!"
Quirrell then collapsed, dead, and a black wraith came out of him. As it neared Harry, the wraith hissed out, "Riddle Manor," before going through Harry and knocking him out.
The night before the train was to leave, Harry finally gathered up the courage to talk to Snape. Just in case he didn't come back, he packed his trunk with everything except his Invisibility Cloak and the Marauder's Map. He quickly went to the owlery to tell Hedwig to leave before making his way down to the dungeons. Once outside Snape's office, he removed and put away his cloak. Knocking, he waited for Snape to answer.
The door opened to reveal a sneering Snape. "What do you want, Potter?"
Harry gulped before speaking, "Can we speak in private?"
Snape scowled. "Here is fine, Potter."
Harry sighed. "Please. It's important."
Snape glared before pinching the bridge of his nose. "Fine! Get in!"
Harry sighed in relief before quickly entering Snape's office. Once inside, Snape closed the door and glared at Harry. Harry fidgeted under the glare. "Well?" Snape snapped.
Harry took a deep breath. "I need you to take me to Gringotts."
Snape blinked. "And why should I? Why can't your relatives take you?"
Harry winced before saying, "Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon would rather lock me up than take me to anyplace magical."
Snape stared. "Petunia? As in Petunia Evans?"
"Dursley now."
A look of anger crossed Snape's face. Harry flinched before saying, "There's more. Someone told me that Lily might not be my mother, and that you are my godfather."
That startled Snape out of his anger. "Who told you this?"
Harry fidgeted again before saying, "Voldemort."
Snape flinched before his brows furrowed. "And how did you come to talk to him?"
"He was on the back of Quirrell's head. When I was trying to protect the Sorcerer's Stone from him, Quirrell touched me. Then Vold-"
"Don't say his name. It hurts me." Snape quickly interrupted.
"Oh. Anyway, he told Quirrell to stop. It was then that he told me that."
Snape frowned and began to pace before turning to Harry. "Pack your things and bring them here. We will leave tonight."
Harry pulled out his shrunken trunk and said, "Already did."
Snape nodded and then turned towards the fireplace. "Have you ever flooed before?"
Harry shook his head no. "Then I'll take you with me. We will be going to the Leaky Cauldron."
Harry followed each instruction Snape gave. When they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron, Snape quickly cast a notice-me-not spell around them. He then guided Harry to Gringotts. Before they entered, Snape cancelled the spell.
