"Sourah?" David asked, "Why does Lambie have to die?"
Yahsourah sighed inwardly.
"And why do a person got to be hurting?"
"I know," Yahsourah said, "It's not right. That's from a tradition-"
"What's a tradition," David interrupted.
"A tradition is something that started a long time ago. GOD doesn't want anyone to be hurt for any reason!"
"Sourah?"
"Yeah buddy?"
"Am I gonna end up right or wrong?"
"Do you know what I see when I look at you," Yahsourah asked Her two-year-old brother, "I see my little brother and my best friend."
"What will you see when you look at me with your deep eyes?"
"I will see my little brother and my best friend," She told him.
She stroked his hair.
The ride to Jerusalem took several hours. When they got to Jerusalem David started to kick up a fuss.
"I don't want Lambie to die," he said.
"GOD says we have to sacrifice an animal," Mary explained gently as she hugged David.
David cried until Yahsourah whispered something in his ear.
"What did you say honey," Joseph asked.
"I have 20 shekels," Yasourah said, "We can purchase an animal instead of lambie"
"Can we do that Mama and Daddy," David begged, "Please?"
"Of course," Joseph replied, "I'll purchase the animal. You kids decide on which animal we get. Mommy can choose which animal specifically."
"How about a bird," David suggested.
"A bird it is," Yahsourah replied supportively.
They purchased the bird. Yahsourah went into the temple to sacrifice the bird. After that was done it was time to eat.
"Does anyone want to say a blessing on the food?"
"I will," Yasourah offered.
"You're a girl," Rabbi Thomas said.
"Let Her do it," Rabbi Issiah said to Rabbi Thomas, "She knows what She's doing."
"But She's a… girl."
While the Rabbis were discussing this Yahsourah got up and said the prayer.
"Baruch ata Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, hamotzi lechem min ha'aretz. Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav, v'tzivanu al achilat matzah→ Amen"
"She did that flawlessly," Rabbi Thomas exclaimed.
"Young Lady," Rabbi Jeramiah asked, "Do you have an older brother?"
"No sir," Yahsourah said, "I'm the oldest, but I do have a younger brother."
