They went to the cemetery to bury her a few days later. Abigail could hardly get herself out of bed ready that morning. She'd barely eaten anything since it happened.

The next day, Becky had to leave. She felt terrible for leaving Cody to deal with this on his own.

"Becky, I'll be fine. I promise."

"If you need anything, you can call me."

"I will. I'll miss you so much, Becky."

"I'll miss you too."

Weeks later, things weren't getting much better. Abigail refused to leave the house and spent most of her day sleeping. She was getting thinner and weaker. Cody could see it and was getting worried.

She'd gotten up to get herself some water one evening. When she got dizzy, she couldn't find anything to hold on to to steady herself.

When Cody heard a thud from his bedroom, he ran out to see what was wrong. "Mom! What happened? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, honey. Just a little dizzy."

"Let's get you back into bed." He helped her up and walked her to the bedroom. He stayed with her a few minutes until she'd fallen asleep.

He knew he couldn't do this on his own anymore. He refused to take Becky away from school. She'd been studying so hard and he didn't want to interrupt that.

He picked up the phone. He may not be able to help his mother, but he knew someone who could.
