After her promotion to Assistant Dean Amy's work life got very busy. She had lots of travel and late nights, Sheldon started to feel neglected.
Then one night Amy arrived home from work very late.
"Hello Sheldon, home at last, sorry to be so late but the lecture session I was chairing seriously overran."
"Nice of you to join me at long last. Tell me Professor Fowler, when are you going to start coming home at regular hours?"
"What does that mean Professor Cooper, you know how hard I work as Assistant Dean."
"Well Leonard is the Dean, he usually gets home to Penny and the girls at a decent time, he drove me home over 3 hours ago. Why do these things that you do take so long? It's only meetings, its not as if you are doing anything important in your work, it is not like what I do. If you were working late in the lab doing Science then I would understand, what do you do all day that takes up so much time?"
"Come on Sheldon, you know better than that. I can understand that you are feeling neglected but if it wasn't for the work that Leonard and I do you wouldn't have a University to work for."
"Well Amy I only have one thing to say to you."
"Really, and what is that Sheldon?"
"Will you marry me….."

Three months later, at the Caltech Athenaeum club, in the presence of family, friends and scientific colleagues, Sheldon married Amy. Leonard was best man, Penny was maid of honour, Rebecca and Sara were bridesmaids.
