Finally at the ring in WCW Power Plant, Jimmy Summer and Curtis Hale were ready to go toe to toe in their quests for the final spot at WCW, making sure that everything would go in their ways. The coach started to look to the two fighters, and with this, the bell started to rang, making both of them going into the fight. Grabbing their arms, starting a grapple fight, strength and agility was being put into motion. Summer started to prove his abilities, and with this, Hale pushed his opponent behind, making them reach a stalemate. Hale then, grappled his rival once more, beginning another chain struggle. Next, it was Summer who pushed his adversary. In the meantime, Hale started to go forward, hitting some chop strikes in the chest, making sure that he would get a certain momentum during everything that could happen in the fight, it was going to went his way. Summer then, seeing the disadvantage at his hands, started to change his fighting style, going all in and using his strength, adapting himself into a brawler way to hit his opponent, silence taking over, while the coach looked to each one of them in the meantime, seeing young talents and how they would do everything to get into the top in their future careers. Hale was showing a technician style, and with this, Summer went for the strike again, hitting several punches in his face, and next, hit a kick on his belly, pushing him behind, however, Hale smiled, and with this, his right hand stood in position, blocking his strike and with this, reversed the move, getting off the ropes, and jumped, hitting a kick with his two feet on Summer's chest, making him fall on the ring. With this, he looked to Hale, both of them realizing what was happening.
"Is that all you've got, Hale? Show me what you can do." He taunted his opponent, and with this, Curtis changed his style once more, pushing Jimmy through the ropes, making him run between them and also making Hale, try and punch his adversary, however, he dodged, throwing his head down, and with this, hit a clothesline in Summer, knocking him on the floor.
"How about that, Curtis? Didn't see me or what?" Grabbing his head, he put Curtis on his feet again, hitting one more punch on his chest and with this, trying another kick, Summer managed to land a strike on Hale, with a kick hitting his chin, throwing him on the floor. Suddenly, it was clear how things would go in this situation. Stalemate going forward and with this, everything happening in this struggle. - "Guess you need to improve certain things, pal." - Going for the pinfall in only a few minutes, suddenly, Hale kicked out, surprising himself with this.
"You're underestimating me."
Hale then, took off in his attacks, punching his enemy, while pulling him through the ropes, hitting a clothesline that took him down on the floor. In the meantime, he analyzed his opponent's movements, and no matter what, Hale landed a kick on his chest, almost like a low blow. Putting his left foot on his body, he tried to force a pinfall, however, Summer kicked out in only a few seconds and grabbed his feet, pushing his rival to the floor.
"Let me show you far things can go." Landing some chops on his chest and putting him into a turnbuckle, Summer landed a punch on Hale's face, leaving him dizzy. In the meantime, he pushed him into the ropes again. - "Get ready for my finisher!"
Lifting Curtis with his hands, Jimmy threw him into mid-air, hitting a superkick before the fall, landing the move on his face and knocking him on the floor. It was kinda surprising for some of the people watching at the Power Plant, and indeed, they were guiding each other by their instincts, both sides were going with everything for the victory.
"I call this one, Twist of Destiny. A different finisher that the brawlers and heavyweights manage to reach now." The shock was made clear. It was different than the most expected ones. - "Hulk Hogan may have his Leg Drop, and alongside other things, Randy Savage and his finishing move through the turnbuckle, take your pick. But my one here is most surprising for the sheer audacity." Jimmy seemed to be going all in for the victory and indeed, his mind was being taken by the certainty that he was going to win. He wouldn't give up his dream to be with the "big boys", and WCW, could be everything he could expect in his mind. With this, he went for the pinfall, laying with his arms in his opponent's body, while holding his left leg.
"1! 2!-"
Before the three count could be finished, Curtis kicked out of the pinfall, shocking Jimmy with this, seeing something that he couldn't believe with this. Almost looking at the scene, in a certain disbelief, Jimmy crawled through the ropes, getting up once again. Both sides looked at the scene, indeed seeing how things could go in the meantime. Hitting some chops in his chest, Curtis went for everything, as a payback for the finisher he received now. Becoming more faster than the last times, Curtis grabbed Jimmy by the arms, managing to land a DDT, that seemed to leave his rival more dizzy and down on the ground, knocked out.
"Truth be told, I'm kinda of a old-fashioned adept way since you talked about the idea of using a different finisher. My DDT is called Angel Dust. And it isn't a double entendre, Jimmy. I'll get what I have in mind. It's time to finish this."
Going for the pinfall, Hale seemed to be convinced with everything. His victory was near. Reaching the 2 count, suddenly, Jimmy kicked out once again, making Curtis to be without words for this scene. He got up once more and with this, both sides managed to hit one another again, with their speed and stamina going at full strength now. Punches and kicks, showing how each side were balanced during this final test. Hale pushed Jimmy through the turnbuckle and ran in his direction, however, he kicked Curtis's face in the last second, leaving him dizzy and with this, grabbed him from behind, landing a suplex in the ring, almost showing the advantage that was going to Jimmy Summer. In a unexpected twist, Curtis got up once more and landed one punch on Jimmy's face, and pushed him through the ropes, trying to land a superkick, however, suddenly, Jimmy did the same thing, with both superkicks hitting their faces, knocking both on the floor. Everyone looked at the scene, in shock, trying to see who would come out with the victory. Their passion, their wills and strength, nothing stopped them to be sure that the situation could be in their sides now. Both vying for the final spot.
Curtis was the first to try and rise up again, grabbing his hands in the ropes, while Jimmy did the same thing, feeling his body trembling because of the last strikes that hit him in the meantime. They looked to one another and no matter what, his fire was becoming more lit up during this fight. Their bodies, almost tired during the struggle, made it clear that both of the aspiring wrestlers would be going all in for the last round. Jimmy hit his opponent again, with a punch in the face that pushed him into the ropes. Hale, then, struck back, managing to land another kick with his two feet, pushing Summer behind. Their movements were becoming slower, showing how they were being taken by the excess used during the bout. In disbelief, he was going to be sure of his victory. Going for the pinfall, before the count, Jimmy kicked out once more, and with this, Curtis went for the sleeper hold while on the ground, making Jimmy crawl through the floor, trying to get a win for submission. Getting through the ropes, Curtis was forced to break the hold. However, Jimmy then, hit a kick while on the floor, hitting his face and pushing Curtis to the floor, their match became more personal than the expected. hey looked to everyone, seeing some cheers around, looking on how they attracted a certain audience for this final match.
But it was time to end this story. For this, the two wrestlers started to hit one another again, punches and kicks, until Jimmy pushed Curtis through the ropes once more, at a standstill for both of them. Even though both wrestlers wanted to have a chance for their dreams to come true. Suspiring, Jimmy felt his body becoming more slower because of his stamina and energy draining up during the strikes. His body managed to go ahead with everything. No matter, he would go ahead, but indeed, they were going all in. Going into a grapple, their arms locked into a little struggle, Jimmy grabbed his opponent's head, and with this, pushed him through the ropes once more, hitting a Big Boot on his face, kicking Curtis and throwing him on the floor. His body being taken by a confidence, unseen by most. And with this, fell on his opponent, with the coach going for the pinfall in the count, seeing how both wrestlers were taken by exhaustion.
"1! 2! 3!" The bell rang and with this, Jimmy got up, still dizzy and confused, until the coach lifted up his right hand, surprising himself during this story.
"What's happened?"
"You're now part of the big leagues. That's what happened."
Jimmy looked to the scene, almost realizing how things could go in the meantime now. He was part of WCW. And with this, the chance to play with the "big boys" of wrestling was kinda true now. When Curtis woke up on the ring, he looked to Jimmy, realizing what happened. He lost. In a surprising way that even he couldn't predict. His thoughts were taken by a single question? Was it over? Just like this?
The taste of what was taking him wasn't that good. Not by a long shot.
After his defeat, Curtis Hale walked off the Power Plant, not believing that his dreams to be a crucial pillar from the Wrestling elite went down after every attempt in the final part. Failing wasn't an option to him, but losing the last part of the tryouts was something that wasn't being something to him. Indeed, it was a certain failure to him. It should be a few situations that could leave Hale in a certain position on which he would do everything to fulfill his dream, but even he couldn't believe that he was left hanging in the Power Plant. Going to a bus stop, Hale looked to a WCW outdoor, until he saw a man using a black suit sitting close to him, on which Curtis was left immersed on his thoughts. Indeed, dreams could come true to certain people, but to him, it was something that even he couldn't control now.
"Some dreamers even have a certain spot if they believe, right?"
"Not for me. Not for me. I tried and did my best to go forward on what I believed, only to be taken by a certain wave of uncertainty. I gave my best into a certain tryout and I failed. With every ounce in my body, I couldn't get past the final stage. Now, I'm here, thinking, on what my future will be. A part of my body always believed that WCW would be the grand stage for me. The place on which my dreams would become true. To become a part of the story." Over. The only word that was coming again and again, in his mind, on which the man laughed, in a sarcastic way, seeing how far would he go for this.
"Not everything goes as we want. Even though we desire these dreams, nothing follows the path we're hopeful."
"Well, I'll guess that's the way it'll be now. Thinking on what I want to do and see what can happen. My own career could be something that went up and down in one day, crashing down like something without description now." The man on his side looked to Curtis, using a sunglass in his eyes.
"What if I say I can give you one chance to shine into a different company, on this entertainment?"
"Only if I was looking into someone important in this world to give me this chance."
"Honestly? I've watched you, hidden from the crowd and I can say. You have a certain talent. And allow me to introduce myself." He took off his sunglasses, making Curtis see the disbelief in his eyes. - "My name is Vince McMahon. And I've seen what you're capable to do."
"You're the man who commands WWF. The one behind…"
"Yes. And yes. As a matter of fact, WCW indeed can be unpredictable when we're not going into this kinda of dream. I'll give you the chance you never thought you needed. Truth be told now, I'm already having a plan for you, longshot. It will be a killing one. What do you say?" The smile came on his face, seeing how a man like Vince McMahon could be willing to do something for him.
"Where we'll begin?"
A new chapter. Future wrestlers, on opposite sides, struggling for their dreams and willing to go with everything to go ahead with what they've desired. On one side, Jimmy Summer, starting at WCW, and on the other side, Curtis Hale, going for the rival company, WWF. This story was only beginning. In the world of wrestling, everything could happen.
And this new chapter would be with some several twists and turns ahead.
To be continued…
Author's Note: That's it for today, folks. The next chapters will be exploring both sides in a way that will be surprising each one of you, dear readers. This wrestling story will be more unexpected than most of you can expect. WWF. WCW. Expect everything and much more coming ahead, so keep your eyes focused, because we'll be going into a long road that will be not only reference, but a homage for the 80s and 90s decades involving wrestling, but the chapters I have in mind, will be worth it.
See you all next time!
