Inspired by the cancelled Sonic game. After being tricked into unleashing some ancient evils. Sonic's twin sister, Selena, needs help from him and his friend to defeat these Masters of Evil before they can cause havoc on the world. Sonic and his friends join Selena in this "Popful" adventure to save their world. The 38th entry of Sonic Tales. [Fan-made demo game in development!]

Final Chapter: Somebody Loves You

In a dark hallway of a place unknown to the main heroes, Kazyr the evil demon goat was walking on a stone pathway to the other side of the room. The only thing that was giving him light to see his way through were the torches attached to the stone pillars on the left and right hand of the walkway.

Kazyr looked annoyed but he did his best to look calm and level headed, outside he kept a straight face while inside he was raging. He had just found that Wriph and Wraph have been defeated and lost their orb in the battle against the heroes. The demon goat was frustrated that Selena was able to make the Black Seal to lock away his masters.

The goat was walking towards his three masters who called upon him. Those masters being Necros, Morgal, and Ulger the Overlord. They have called the goat to have a word with him. Kazyr knew his masters weren't happy that the Black seal was once again forged and was a huge threat to their power.

Kazyr kept walking until the area around him was swallowed in darkness. The goat knew he reached his destination and got down one knee and stayed silent in the darkness. He was trying his best not to break his formation as he kept his eyes on the dark ground.

The area was completely dark until three pairs of demons suddenly showed up around him. Kazyr didn't bother looking up at the eyes, for he knew they were staring at him. He kept his position until a deep voice from the darkness spoke.

"Stand Kazyr."

Kazyr did what he was told and stood to look at the demonic eyes looking at him in darkness. He did his best not to show any fear for he knew his masters could easily erase him from existence if they wished to do so. He kept silent as he let his master's talk.

"You know why we called you here? Speak!" Yelled a voice belonging to a woman.

"It seems that the Black Seal was once again forged." Kazyr said, admitting.

"Tell us, how did this happen hmmmm?" Said a third voice, which sounded like it was coming from a manic.

"It was caused by a group of troublesome heroes, one of them who I tricked into helping release you all from your original seal." Kazyr said.

"Hmmm, I believe it is that girl hedgehog we zapped when she was trying to stop us was it not?" Said the crazy voice.

Kazyr then looked left to see a visual representation of Selena somewhere in the world riding on top of the Tornado's wing. Selena had this determined look as she held the Black Seal in her hand. Kazyr gritted his teeth at Selena and her friends causing such a mess from him and the masters.

"Kazyr, they will soon arrive at your castle at Creepy Craig. You must stop them no matter what. We're all almost in full power. This is your last chance." Said the deep voice.

"Consider it done master. I set up the traps and monsters all over the castle. I will take matters at hand if needed to see these groups of heroes dead." Kazyr said.

"The day our feathers fall from us is at hand! Soon all will learn the power of the Overlord." Said the deep voice.

The deep voice started to laugh, the woman's voice also joined in the laughter and shortly after the crazy voice also laughter. The three masters of evil were laughing together, knowing soon they will rule the world with their powers like they had once. While the trio were laughing, Kazyr looked at the visual representation of Selena that his masters created in the dark void he was in.

A smirk appeared on Selena's face, which took Kazyr by surprise to see she wasn't afraid as her friends smiled together. He looked at the blue female hedgehog with anger before walking away from the darkness to set his plans in motion.

After hours of leaving the land of Chilly and saving King Lipps and his people. The gang were back in the sky riding the Tornado. The sky above them was no longer night time and was back to its normal day and night cycle for it was currently day time with the warm sun.

They were flying over a large valley of grass, trees, and hills. Selena was once again leading the way using the Black Seal to lead them in the right direction. While Selena was happy to know they were close to the endgame of their adventure and will put the world in peace from any huge threat. A small part of her made her frown as she looked at the Black Seal.

Honey was the first to notice the female hedgehog frown, curious to know what she was thinking when she was smiling moments ago. Honey was the first to know while Sonic and Knuckles were just looking down below admiring the landscape they were in and Tails keeping his eyes to the sky.

"Selena, why the frown? Aren't you happy that we're close to defeating the Overlord?" Honey asked her hedgehog sister while Sonic, Tails, And Knuckles were curious about Selena's mood.

The female hedgehog gave a sigh but gave a soft smile as she looked at Honey. "I am happy that we're close to saving the world. It's definitely gonna put my mind at ease once we finish." She responded.

"So what's up then?" Sonic asked this time.

Selena chuckled as she shyly looked at the Black Seal in her hand. "This might sound odd, but I kinda don't want this adventure to end." She answered.

"Why so?" Tails wondered.

"It's just that since the beginning we have had nothing but fun thrills. Sure we have some close calls, but it felt great that we pulled through together. I've never experienced adventure with a group of friends. Especially with my brother." Selena said, looking at her twin brother.

Sonic just chucked at Selena's words, the rest of the gang just looked at him wondering why he was laughing. "Who said this was the end?" Sonic said.

"What do you mean?" Selena said, scratching the back of her head.

"Well you're right that our adventure is coming to an end. But who's to say this out only adventure together." Sonic told his twin.

"Yeah! We can still go on plenty adventures together after this one." Honey said, smiling at Selena.

"We'll make it even more grander than the previous ones." Sonic said, giving a thumbs up.

"And we'll have just as fun going through them together." Tails said, clenching a fist in the air.

"And cheating death many times." Knuckles said, smirking.

Selena softly smiled and looked at everyone seeing how they're up to go on another adventure with her. A part of her felt at ease, now more curious to what adventure lies for her after they defeat the Overlord. Hoping her future adventures with actionpack and humor like the one she's experiencing.

"Thanks everyone." Selena said, smiling at the gang.

"You know Selena, there's something I've been meaning to ask. What did the masters of evil look like?" Asked Tails, as he and the rest of the gang looked at Selena.

"Yeah, maybe a description of what they look like might give us some ideas of what we're going up against." Honey said.

Selena began to think back but nodded her head. "Unfortunately not much, when Kazyr broke the original seal. The only thing I saw was purple smoke with a pair of eyes looking down at me." She answered.

"I guess not much. We'll find out soon, I'm ready to fight these guys." Sonic said, getting pumped up.

The flight across the valley took a while as everyone took their time to relax and stretch their bodies. Selena was taking a moment to reflect back since the beginning of her adventure with her brother and his friends. Their first stop being Skelf Woods and helping the people of Treesun Village regain their homes by defeating the Wood Golem.

The next being in the caves and meeting the villagers of small dragon creatures that have the same name Gaw. Selena with the help of the friends defeated the Boney Rubbler and a fearsome dragon that held the second orb known as Goradus, who took over the area.

The third being Odorburg, a land owned by an aristocrat named Venuncio who owned a mountain mine of the material known as Mythril. Selena thought at first Venuncio was the villain but it turned out he was nothing but a pawn to Sven T. Uncommon. A fearsome and strong bison who have given Selena and the gang a hard time when they fought but managed to be defeated.

Lastly not too long, the land of Chilly that is ruled by the courageous penguin king known as King Lipps. Though he can over his head, he had a righteous heart wanting to protect the land and his people on his own. Wriph and Wraph mostly used strength and beauty to defeat King Lipps and his army but they were no match for Selena and the gang as they overcame the twins' strength and beauty.

Selena then thought back to the equipment she gained throughout the journey. The throwing daggers she received from a powerful magician known as Tatt. A boomerang that was given to her by Gaw after defeating Goradus. The rare and unbreakable Mythril Shield she got as a gift after saving Venuncio and giving him a second chance to do right. Lastly there was her newly acquired aura sword given to her by King Lipps after saving him and his land.

The four items she got, Selena was going to make good use of all of them to defeat the Masters of Evil. Selena looked at the Black Seal one more time to see it glowing it brightly. She looked up from it and saw a huge castle in the far distance. The others were quick to see the castle well as they looked at it together.

"This is it." Selena said, looking very serious.

"Tails, I think it's best we go on foot from here." Sonic said.

"Alright, I'll land the closest I can get." Tails replied.

Tails flew around for a bit until he found a good place to land. He landed the Tornado from a good distance from where the Castle stood, wanting the Tornado to be safe in case they attacked. Once Tails landed the Tornado, everyone got off their spots and began making their way towards the castle.

The place was a huge fortress, it had multiple castle buildings combined together with one castle on a higher level than the other ones. Around it was a huge stone wall protecting. The gang stepped a stone pathway leading up to the first castle as the entrance. Knuckles stepped up and opened the door of the building known as Freaky Foyer according to a sign they saw before entering.

Entering the building, it was very wide as there were stone pillars with torches and the glass castle windows lighting the place. There was another sign that was giving them a warning and mocking that said "Unwelcome! Your presence is no doubt a mistake. Intelligent beings will leave at once."

"Something tells me we're not welcome here." Sonic said, joking.

"I'm surprised they just let us in here so easily." Tails said.

"They probably have some traps waiting for us, it's best we keep our guard up." Knuckles said, examining the area.

As the gang continued to walk further into Freaky Foyer, the first area of the huge fortress. They came to a stop when they heard a disembodied voice echo the area, making the gang look around to see where the voice was coming.

"Why have you all come to desecrate my sanctuary?" Said the disembodied voice.

"Hey….who's there?" Selena said, she and the rest looked around for the voice.

They soon got their answer as a blue flame appeared in the air above them. Coming out from the blue flame, was Kazyr the demon goat himself. At first sight, Selena got angry because it was Kazyr who made her cause this mess to begin with. Selena grabbed the handle of her sword, ready to take it out and strike Kazyr with an aura slash.

"Who are you!?" Sonic asked, as he and the gang ready themselves to fight.

The demon goat smirked, "I am Kazyr, servant of The Overlord." He introduced himself to the gang.

"He's the guy that tricked me into releasing the Masters of Evil." Selena growled.

"This guy huh?" Knuckles said, frowning at the goat.

Kazyr just frowned and looked at everyone with a disgusted stare. "Again, why do you defile our castle with your cowardly breaths?" He mocked the gang.

Selena stepped forward wanting to face Kazyr. "We're here to make things right and not let your masters destroy anything else in the world!" She yelled.

"Someone should have told you earlier that it is impossible. For you see, as Underlord, I have never been defeated by such weaklings like you. My keep is for true believers, and you fall far short of the mark! You think you can defeat me?" Kazyr said, coldly.

"You got that right! We're here to destroy you, your creepy castle, and your foul Masters of evil! You've no place in the world, Kazyr!" Selena said, still keeping her glare.

Kazyr just turned his head slightly while keeping his smirk and eyes on Selena. "On the contrary, I and my masters are the future of this forlorn world!" He said, with a grin.

The demon goat laughed as he suddenly disappeared in his blue flame as it too disappeared from everyone's view. They knew it wasn't gonna be the last time they see Kazyr for he was probably saving himself last before they reach the Masters of Evil.

"Ohh that guy irritates the heck out of me!" Selena said, with her face boiling red in anger.

"I can see why, that smirk of his really makes you want to punch him." Honey said, also finding the demon goat to be a nuisance.

"Then let's not just stand here, he's probably waiting for us near the finish line." Sonic said.

"Let's see what this whole place is all about. I'm ready to take on anything they throw at us." Knuckles said.

Everyone nodded and proceeded to continue their adventure in Freaky Foyer. At the end of the room they entered the door leading them further in the castle. Entering the next room, it was completely wide and empty.

Though it was empty, they all took a cautious approach as they looked around to see if enemies or traps were coming. The gang were trying to make it to the other side because there was another door that could take them further in the castle. As they kept walking on the stone floor, Selena took one step and the floor she stepped on suddenly disappeared, taking everyone by surprise.

In the floor was a pit of spikes, that was covered in an illusion spell disguising it for anyone to fall into. Selena was at the edge of the hole, tippy toeing with one foot while waving her arms and hands to keep herself from falling. She was about to lose her balance and fall into the pit. Tails flew in quickly and grabbed Selena's arm in time just before she could fall in. The two stood on the floor where they knew it was solid as the gang quickly gathered around.

"Thanks Tails, I owe you one." Selena told the young fox who smiled and nodded.

"I knew there was something fishy about this room." Honey said, looking at the ground.

"We need to be extra careful, one wrong step and it's game over for us." Sonic said, watching his step.

"Allow me you guys. I think I can help with this one." Tails said.

The young fox started to fly around the room, he would slowly descend to the ground and touch it with his foot. He was trying to figure out what spots in the area were safe enough to walk on while trying to avoid the pit of spikes that was covered in an illusion spell.

Tails was surprised to see how much little room there was to stand on to make it to the other side of the room. Some of the illusion spells really covered most of the area trying to fool the naked eye. The young fox took a moment to examine the room and use his memory to determine which floor was a trap or solid.

"Okay guys, I think I got it. Here's what is safe to step on." Tails said.

Tails while flying and began leading the way the gang through the illusion floor. They jumped according to what Tails instructed them to do. They were surprised to see how far they jumped and leap to the next platform. They could only think of the possible scenario where one of them accidentally fell into the pit of spikes and were really grateful of Tails being there with them. They made it to the other side of the room where Honey was the last one to jump off the platform and join the gang as they all entered the next room and gave Tails a respectful salute to him.

The next room they entered was similar because it was huge and empty. Tails quickly went ahead in front of everyone and began checking the floors to see if there was an illusion spell like before. For the most part, the floors were mostly solid from what Tails was checking.

While Tails was checking the floor to see if it was safe for his friends to walk on. Back to where Sonic and the gang were waiting, Sonic spotted something in the dark shadows of the background of the area. It wasn't just one thing, for it was multiple strange creatures dashing around and hiding their appearances behind the walls and pillars.

"Guys, we're not alone in this room." Sonic alerted his friends.

As the gang got ready to fight, Sonic looked over to Tails who was still checking the floors. The hedgehog then saw something that looked like a cannon coming from behind one of the pillars and was aiming at the young fox who was unaware of it.

Panicking for the safety of his little brother. Sonic quickly dashed towards Tails. A large boom was heard out loud that echoed the room, making Tails jolt his body in surprise. Before Tails could see what caused the noise, Sonic made it in time and tackled Tails to the floor in time.

Sonic and Tails, while down on the floor saw a huge bullet fly over them as it missed. The two got up and saw that the huge bullet came from a weird round creature with legs and no arms. The creature's body was just a large gold helmet and inside of it was a cannon sticking out from it. The round armor creature then closed his helmet shape head putting his cannon away and hid back into the dark background.

"Now that's what I call a Bullethead." Sonic said, getting himself up and helping Tails up afterwards.

Before Tails could thank his big brother for saving him, the two looked back to their friends to see some cannons being pointed at them from the pillars. They were distracted by the loud boom sound where Sonic was at to save Tails and were curious to know what caused it.

"Guys lookout! From the pillars!" Sonic said, trying to warn his friends.

Honey, Selena, and Knuckles quickly turned and looked around to see multiple cannons being pointed at them. The cannons then shot their huge bullets at the three. Honey ducked backwards as she dodged the bullet, Selena stepped out of the way, and Knuckles just punched the bullet head on deflecting it.

Seeing that there was no point in hiding their appearance, the Bulletheads as Sonic calls them, all stepped out from their hiding spots. All of them began to reload and shoot more of their huge bullets at them.

The group would do their best as they dodge the bullets, but they were coming in different directions as the Bulletheads would move and shift around the area. It was hard to get near them as more bullets were coming their way.

Selena blocked one of the huge bullets with her Mythril Shield to deflect it back hitting one of the Bulletheads. Another tried to shoot Selena from the side, but Selena shot out an aura slash from her aura sword, cutting the bullet in half. She didn't stop, for she went for a straight jab with her sword, attacking the Bullethead's weak spot which is where the cannon was exposed.

The rest of the gang saw the weak points of the Bulletheads and waited. They waited until the Bulletheads needed time to reload for their chance to attack back. Sonic would be quick and did his homing attack on each Bullethead's exposed part. Tails deflected the bullets with the speed of spinning tails and shot them back. Knuckles would grab the huge bullets with his strength and throw them back. Honey would dash and dodge as she made her way towards the Bulletheads. Instead of attacking them, she would grab one of them forcefully, make it shoot its cannon and hit the other Bulletheads.

They kept at it as they chased and defeated each of the Bulletheads, making sure everyone of them was defeated as they disappeared in a purple smoke. The area becomes clear once they get rid of the Bulletheads, though they had a feeling it wouldn't be the last time they see them venture forward into the castle.

From there on, the group faced a lot of enemies like the spike knights, flying knights that threw spears at the gang from the air. They had to deal with more of the Bulletheads and pit of spikes that came across. There were also deadly traps such as contraptions with spike balls, which they had to jump on the center to avoid getting hit. They dealt with spike ceilings that would drop them on them as they got near.

They had climbed and down multiple stairs that lead to different doors. Freaky Foyer was quite the venture but nothing the gang could handle once they saw what they were dealing with such as the Bulletheads, Spike Knights and the deadly contraptions they encountered.

They found a large door in Freaky Foyer where they found themselves back outside on the castle bridge that led them to the next level of the area that was known as Hassle Hall. Before reaching Hassle Hall, they were blocked by a huge rock monster known as the Rock Sentry.

Despite how huge and dangerous the rock monster looked, he was pretty easy to beat for he had a huge weakness that was his big red rock eye. With how much it was exposed, Sonic and the gang kept hitting its weak spot repeatedly until it finally broke down and crumbled into the pieces before they entered Hassle Hall.

Hassle Hall was much the same as Freaky Foyer. More stairs to climb but with more Bulletheads and Spike Knights. However there were areas where the floors were covered in spikes and they had a hard time getting over them. Fortunately there were machines that they used after defeating the minions that were controlling them to get across the spike floors.

The real hassle part of the area is when they come across the large open area for them to climb multiple platforms and if they fell, they start all over again from the bottom. After climbing and dealing with more traps and enemies in Hassle Hall.

At the end of Hassle Hall, they ran into something known as the Fright Knight. A large fearsome knight carrying a large blade and shield. It was tough as it looked as it came towards the gang attacking with its large blade and blocked with its large shield. Though it was great in strength and defense, it lacked speed on its foot movement.

It gave the heroes the advantage as they moved around and attacked while it tried to move. They were able to take it down as they kept destroying the weak parts of the armor little by little until it was nothing but a pair of walking legs.

After dealing with the Fright Knight, they entered the next level area known as Manic Mazes. Unlike Freaky Foyer and Hassle Hall, Manic Mazes lead to the underground area of the building. Where they encounter massive amounts of water there. The waters had these weird fishes where they could see their skeleton bones inside their bodies. Ghostfishes as Sonic would call them.

But they had to go into the water to reach the next area much to Sonic's and Selena's displeasure due to their fear of water areas. They managed to pull with the help of their friends and the air bubbles coming from the ground that gave them extra air time they needed.

As they got further into the Manic Mazes, they encountered a large lobster monster simply known as the Clobbster. The Clobbster had two large pinchers that were deadly looking. The later creature would attack the gang with its pinchers but that wasn't the only attack it did.

It splashes on the water to send out deadly waves to push back the gang and send out exploding bubbles that really hurt and let out a large boom sound when one pops. The gang fought off the large lobster monsters but it wasn't until near the end of the battle, the Clobbster would transform into two crab shaped creatures and start attacking more aggressively.

Though it was attacking more aggressively in its crab form, the group defeated them by aiming for their huge eyes that seemed to be the weak point. After defeating the Clobbster and its crab form, the gang were able to find a pathway that led them back up and made their way to the next area.

The last area they headed towards was a large tower that was known as the Orb Tower. It was nothing but climbing up for it was the only way. There were platforms but they disappeared and reappeared from thin air and platforms that swung left and right in the air.

With the disappearing platforms, they had to watch and timed their jumps in a rhythm in order to get up. Some like Tails, Knuckles, and Honey had an easier time because they used their flight abilities to give them extra air time to stand on the platform before it disappeared. Sonic and Selena were mostly the ones that had to time their jumps carefully.

The swinging platforms were mostly easy for the most part. But there were also a couple of deadly contraptions on the way that put pressure on the gang. The Orb Tower surprisingly didn't have any enemies just to fight just many platforms to climb, that did tire the gang out and put more pressure at the thought of falling and starting all over again causing them to have many frustrating moments.

After jumping and fearing from platform to platform. The group finally reached the top of the Orb Tower and ran up some stairs that took even further. At the very top, they found a pedestal where the black seal must be placed and behind it was a huge door. They looked outside to see a large display of the world from the top of the tower. They were amazed to see they were near the clouds much like how they reach the top of Treesun Village.

"Finally we made it!" Sonic said, happy to finally reach the top.

"I'm surprised we made it this quick. We're really speedrunning it here." Honey said, breathing heavily.

"Considering that there are no villagers or bystanders in this place to save or talk to. I can see why." Knuckles said.

"Ugh! If I had to climb more platforms I'm gonna lose it!" Selena says, annoyed by all the climbing they had to do.

"Selena, I think you're supposed to place the Black Seal on that Pedestal." Tails said, pointing as Selena looked over.

Before Selena could even take out the Black Seal, Kazyr suddenly appeared in front of everyone, preventing them from getting any further. They would think Kazyr would be upset after getting through his castle and dealing with the Rock Sentry and Fright Knight. Kazyr actually smiled, quite happy that Selena, Sonic, and the others were able to make it.

"At last, you come." Kazyr said, in a sinister tone. "Even as we speak, The Overlord is awakening to claim his empire! Soon the whole world will be ours!"

Selena then pulled out her sword and gripped it tightly. "Not if we have anything to do with it, dog breath!" She yelled.

"Yeah nice dream Kazyr! This game's almost over, and we're pressing all the right buttons! You don't stand a chance, bucko!" Honey said, mocking the goat and surprising everyone with her outburst.

"How does Mighty handle this girl?" Knuckles thought to himself.

"Ohhhh….just the way I like it! Defiant to the end." Kazyr said, as his body started bursting in blue flames.

The gang were ready to prepare themselves to fight Kazry who was getting ready himself. Selena put her arm out blocking them walking any further. Sonic and the gang were looking at Selena who kept her eyes on the goat, she had this very serious face as she frowned.

"Guys, leave this guy to me." Selena said, still keeping her eyes on Kazyr.

"You sure?" Sonic asked.

Selena nodded, "Yeah, I want to fight this guy on my own. It's payback for tricking me into releasing the masters of the evils. This one is personal." She said, giving a glare.

Sonic and others saw how serious she was. They knew Selena was waiting for this battle to come. Sonic looked at Tails, Honey, and Knuckles who nodded telling him they're alright with Selena wanting to fight Kazyr on her own.

Once he got the confirmation from his friends, he looked over at Selena and started backing away to give her some room. "Alright then, the floor is yours sis." Sonic said.

"Give it to him, Selena! You can do it!" Tails cheered.

"You got this sis!" Honey shouted.

"Best him until he cries." Knuckles said, with a smirk.

"Thanks everyone, I won't let you down." Selena said, giving a thumbs up before looking back at Kazyr.

"Ohh, gonna fight me on your own. You're either brave or suicidal if you think can beat me alone." Kazyr said to the female hedgehog.

"Nah, I just want to smack that smirk off that face myself." Selena shot back.

The female hedgehog and goat had a stare down, Selena slowly reached down and grip the handle of her sword while it was still sheathe and kept her eyes on the goat. Selena slowly pulled out her sword from her sheath, and in seconds she dashed towards Kazyr with a quick slash. She looked to where Kazyr was standing, only to be standing on a different spot. The goat just smirked and mocked Selena that her attack missed him.

The hedgehog kept dashing towards the goat who would just teleport around in his blue flame aura. Selena watched as Kazyr was disappearing and reappearing around the room. He would appear on the air and ground level.

Selena was having a hard time keeping her eyes on Kazyr as he just randomly teleported the area. She did her best to attack with her slash attacks but Kazyr would keep teleporting around toying with the hedgehog.

Seeing that her plan wasn't working, she stopped what she was doing and began to focus her thoughts as she gripped her sword with both hands. She watched Kazyr teleport around seeing how fast he was moving around and study it.

After seeing how fast Kazyr was moving, Selena randomly shot a quick aura shot from her sword. The aura shot managed to hit Kazyr, taking him by surprise as the aura hurted him. While a bit stunned from the attack, Kazyr saw Selena running towards for a slash attack.

Kazyr managed to recover and teleport to dodge Selena's attack. But Selena stopped the moment Kazyr teleported away and sent out an aura shot from behind her and hit Kazry, surprising him again that he got hit.

Angry that he got hit again, Kazyr bursted his body in a blue fire aura. Around him, flames started to orbiting his body. He began chasing Selena hoping to burn her with his attack. Selena had no choice but to run for a while Kazyr chased her around. The hedgehog jumped and side stepped as Kazyr tried to crush and burn her body.

The goat kept chasing Selena until she was at a dead end. From there, Kazyr sent his flames down towards Selena. The hedgehog was thinking of using her aura sword to send out multiple aura shots to dispose of the flames coming at her. But she knew it was too risky for her to use her energy to shoot too many of her aura shots.

Selena then thought of another idea that didn't involve using her sword. She put away her aura sword and began throwing her daggers as fast as she could as she pulled them out from her hammer space. The throwing daggers were really useful as they blocked the incoming flames heading towards Selena.

Kazyr then started to spread his flames around the area instead of a single shot. Selena looked around to see the flames heading towards her from different angles and points. She then pulled out her sword and her Mythril Shield to use. Selena watched carefully as the flames came close, she began to slash the flames with her sword and block with her indestructible shield. Slashing and blocking is what Selena could only do.

While Selena was doing her best to defend herself, Kazyr began powering up his body and became engulfed in his blue flames. Sonic and the rest watched as Kazyr began to shape himself into a flame-covered hawk. With his form complete, Kazyr flew towards Selena who was still trying to defend herself.

"Selena watch it!" Sonic warned his twin sister.

Selena heard Sonic's warning but was too late as Kazyr hit her directly while she was distracted. Selena screamed in pain as she pushed back against the wall. The hedgehog gritted her teeth as she did her best to stay up on one knee. She looked up to see Kazyr coming at her again for another attack.

Though her body was in pain, Selena managed to force her body to move out of the way in time to avoid Kazyr's attack. Selena kept looking up at Kazyr who was still flying around in his golden hawk form.

Kazyr kept attacking by swooping down, basing Selena in his hawk form while she tried to block and dodge his attack but was taken down once again. Selena was down to the ground seeing Kazyr coming towards her and tried getting back to her feet.

In this golden hawk form, Kazyr was smirking for the moments of defeating the female hedgehog who just stood there weakened. Just before he could finish off the hedgehog, he was then hit on the side of the head by an unexpected boomerang that took out his golden hawk form. Selena threw the boomerang while Kazyr was flying around so that he didn't notice her throwing it.

Kazyr was put in a daze but before he could gain consciousness. Selena dash towards him and shield bash his face and slashed him right on the chest. Kazyr screamed in anger and pain that he was tricked by a simple weapon.

The goat decided to go at it against the female hedgehog and formed a flaming sword with his powers. Kazyr teleported towards Selena and tried to slash her with his flame sword. Selena put away her shield and blocked it with her sword.

The two went into a series and slashes as their swords clashed against each other. As they slashed their swords creating sparks, Sonic and the others watched carefully, keeping silent for they didn't want to distract Selena from her fight. Even though Selena told them not to interfere, if the moment came where her life was really on the line, they wouldn't hesitate to jump in.

The female hedgehog and goat would keep slashing their swords in a flurry and because of it, both Selena and Kazyr were getting tired as they kept attacking. Kazyr was smiling just to mess with Selena and give her doubt about winning their little battle. It didn't work as Selena kept her focus and didn't want to show a hint of worry in her attacks and face to give Kazyr the satisfaction of his trick.

The battle between the two went on, they would clash swords and try to hit the other. Selena knew the fight couldn't last long, not while the Overlord and other masters were getting ready to rule the world.

She then pulled out a dagger from her hammer space, but instead of throwing it like she would usually do. Selena used her right hand weapon while holding her main sword with her left hand. She started dual wielding both blades and started attacking viciously.

This overwhelmed Kazyr he was now having a hard time trying to keep up with Selena. What made it worse for him was Selena activated her speed boost to attack with both blades aggressively. Unable to keep up, Selena destroyed Kazry's flame sword with a slice with both her sword and dagger.

Before Kazyr could make another flame sword appear in his hand, Selena aimed and threw her dagger stabbing Kazyr on the palm of his hand, blocking him using his powers due to the pain and he breathed heavily as he tried to pull out the dagger from his hand.

"That's for Tatt and the people of Skelf village and Treesun village!" Selena yelled angrily.

Kazyr was gonna use his other hand to attack but was immediately hit in the back of his head by Selena's boomerang. He gritted his teeth as he watched Selena catch her boomerang back into hand.

"That's for Gaw and the rest of Gaw village!" She continued to yell at the goat.

Having no choice, Kazyr transformed his body back into the golden hawk form. He charged towards the blue female hedgehog with a loud hawk sound from his form. Selena watched and pulled out her Mythril Shield. She then activated her speed boost and charged forward as her shield and Kazry's golden hawk clashed.

The two had a bit of a struggle trying to get the upper hand. Selena pushed while Kazyr pushed harder. Selena gave out a mighty yell as her aura of speed boost grew, pushing back Kazyr who couldn't handle it.

"And this is for Venuncio, Glug, and the people of Odorburg!" Selena shouted.

Selena gave one strong push and shield bash Kazyr underneath his chin. Kazyr yelled in pain as he fell back. The demon goat can barely stand up aftering being hit with the shield. When he tried to recover, Kazyr looked to see Selena running towards with her aura sword. The blade of the sword was glowing brightly as she was putting all her energy in it.

"This is for King Lipps and the land of Chilly!" Selena yelled proudly.

Selena jumped into the air, Kazyr was too dazed and hurt to move out of the way as he watched Selena come down for an attack. Pouring all of her strength and will, Selena went for an aura slash from the air. The attack hit Kazyr right on the chest area, leaving a massive slice mark that went through his armor and skin, making some blood come out.

As Selena landed on the ground, but fell to one knee for the aura slash took a lot of her energy to use. Sonic quickly gathered around Selena to see she was okay. Theywatched Kazyr's body fall back on the ground and his body was slowly disappearing starting from his feet.

Sonic and Honey quickly help Selena back up to her feet as they walk towards Kazyr. As they all looked down at the defeated goat, instead of being angry or upset. He looked rather calm and relaxed, but not in a mocking way like before. He then softly started laughing and glanced over at Selena only.

"Why the happy face?" Selena asked, frowning.

"I must thank you actually." Kazyr said to the female hedgehog.

"Why? You were beaten and soon will be your masters too." Selena asked, curious.

"Truth be told, while it has worked for my masters as the loyal servant, they made me be. I have so long waited for this….this liberation from the bonds of the Overlord." Kazyr explained.

Everyone began looking at each other and wondered if what Kazyr was saying was true. It didn't seem like Kazyr was lying, his expression and tone seemed loose, showing no signs of false emotion.

"You all may have the strength to defeat the Overlord and the other two masters after all." He said, now looking at the rest of the gang.

Kazyr looked at the pedestal and pointed at it. "Put the Black Seal in its place…once you do. The door will open and it will take you to the Overlord's dimensional palace where he and others are ready for you." He said.

"How come you're helping us?" Selena asked, looking down at the goat.

"Whether the Overlord wins or loses, it wouldn't matter to me at all. If the Overlord wins, he wouldn't bother to use his power to bring me back and make a new Underlord to serve him instead." Kazyr said.

"Some way to treat his loyal allies." Sonic said, frowning.

Kazyr raised a hand casted a spell on the Black Seal. Selena looked at the Black Seal for it was giving a weird glow. "What did you do?" Selena asked.

"If you truly want to defeat the Overlord and others. I casted a spell on the Black Seal that will destroy them rather than sealing them up. Once all three are in that Black Seal, it will destroy itself alongside the masters." Kazyr said, looking at the black seal.

Selena nodded and looked at the Black Seal that contained the last of Kazyr's magic. Everyone looked at Kazyr who was now just a head as the rest of body was gone. He gave one last look to Selena.

"Go now, the Overlord is coming." He said as his last words.

With that Kazyr's head slowly disappears out of thin air. Selena took a moment to herself to reflect what happened and stood up. She didn't know what she did was the right thing destroying Kazyr, but Sonic put a hand on her light blue armor shoulder.

"It's okay Selena, you did a good thing. You broke him out of his chains. You saw the smile on his face." Sonic said, comforting his twin sister.

Selena softly said to her twin brother, "Thanks, Sonic." She said, smiling.

After moments of watching Kazyr disappear, Selena walked over to the pedestal with the Black Seal. "I sure hope this works. If it doesn't we're dead meat." She said, with caution in her tone.

"Here we go." Tails said, as he and the others watched carefully.

Selena swallowed her saliva nervously. "Here goes nothing." She said, placing the black seal on the pedestal.

When Selena put the Black Seal on the pedestal, the seal began glowing brightly. The light was so bright it blinded the gang's view as they screamed as the door opened widely and gave out its own bright light. Everything then felt their bodies move towards the Black Seal as their bodies began to be hit with beams of lights and they spun around uncontrollably as they got sucked in through the door. The whole room was covered in bright lights as their bodies suddenly disappeared out of the air when the lights finally died out.

After minutes aftering being hit by the blinding lights from the Black Seal. Everyone's vision was blurry at first as they after lights ended. They found themselves outside of the castle area covered in a beautiful sunset on the horizon.

The castle area had these dragon statues as pillars. Down below the castle, was a dark pit that covered the area. It made the gang cautious not to fall in for they seemed like a dark void that had no end to it. They looked up to see three huge castle buildings. One on the left, middle and right, all connected to the castle bridge they were standing on.

Sonic began looking around, "So this the Masters of evils' dimension palace? I kinda dig this place actually." He said, looking at the three castle buildings and the sunset.

"I guess Kazyr really did help us. I was actually thinking he was leading us to a trap." Knuckles said.

"Looks like we have no choice now to turn back. We're not leaving until we defeat the Masters of Evil." Selena said.

Just Selena was getting ready to move on, she felt her body ache in pain making her friends worry. "Selena you okay?" Honey asked.

Selena nodded, "Yeah, the battle against Kazyr was more tiring to my body." She chuckled, "Just give a moment to rest and I'll be fine."

As the gang held back her feet, a hissing disembodied voice was then heard. It quickly alerted the gang as they began to frown and look around where the voice came from. As the hissing voice was slowly coming to a stop, the disembodied voice began talking and it revealed itself to be a voice from a female.

"So, you've finally arrived. The Overlord sends his sincerest thanks for making our return possible! Unfortunately, you've now outlived your usefulness! So, who will be the first to die!" Said the disembody woman's voice.

Honey stepped forward and looked at the air to where she thinks the voice is coming. "I will! Honey the Cat is ready for action!" She said, cracking her fists.

"Honey? Are you sure? This is a spook of the highest order! Aren't you afraid?" Sonic said, looking at the cat with a worried expression.

Honey smiled. "I'm not afraid of this spook. I want to fight this master and get out of here!" She said, truthfully.

Sonic chuckled seeing the determination on Honey's face and nodded his head. "Alright, then be careful sis." Sonic said,

"Hold on Honey, let me join you. You're gonna need some help." Knuckles said.

"Actually it might be a good idea to split into groups of two." Tails said.

"Can't go wrong having a buddy join in your fight." Sonic said, as he and Tails smiled at each other.

"Honey and Knuckles will take the master on the left castle. While me and Sonic will take on the right castle." Tails said.

"Sounds good, Selena, just wait for a while and rest up as much as you can. We can't waste anymore time waiting." Sonic told his twin.

"I'm with that. I think it's best that we split from here and each of us take a castle building to save time. But once I'm ready I'm heading to that middle castle. I bet the Overlord is in that, feel free to join when you guys deal with the other two." Selena said, looking directly at the huge middle castle.

"Somehow I knew you were gonna say that." Sonic smiled and rolled his eyes.

Selena then started to back away from the group and began sitting back on a pillar to relax her body. She took a deep breath and began stretching her aching body. Sonic looked at his friends and nodded as they separated into two groups of two. Sonic and Tails heading towards the right Castle while Honey and Knuckles headed towards the left castle.

"Good luck you guys, give those masters a whooping!" Selena cheered for her twin brother and the others.

The group smiled and gave a thumbs up to the resting hedgehog. They kept walking together as a group of four until they reached a pathway that split into three. They gave each one last look and nodded before they split apart from each other, knowing they're about to face some powerful foes. Honey and Knuckles kept their eyes on the left castle and the same with Sonic and Tails with the right castle.

Honey looked over at Knuckles, "You know Knuckles, I probably could handle this on my own." She told him.

Knuckles smirked, "Yeah, but I don't want to leave Mighty's girlfriend to face something extremely dangerous. That armadillo really worries a lot about you know. I won't hear the end of him if something happens to you." He said, teasing the cat.

"Well I could almost say the same with you since you and Mighty's friendship go way back. You're one of his best pals." Honey teased back and thought happily about her armadillo boyfriend who she wants to see after this grand adventure.

Honey and Knuckles both had a short laugh and fist bump each other. They reached the entrance of the castle and entered without hesitation. The area inside the castle was dark but not completely for the other end of the castle had a light.

Both Knuckles and Honey walked towards the light at the end of the castle building only to end up in a spacious arena where the other side was the castle walls but no entrance. The entrance they came in quickly sealed up, preventing them from leaving. Knuckles and Honey prepared themselves as they knew this was the spot they're gonna fight against the one of the three masters.

A dark purple cloud then suddenly appeared in the sky with a pair of demonic looking eyes. The huge mysterious figure slowly revealed herself as the dark purple clouds cleared up. Hovering above Knuckles and Honey was a hybrid of a woman and dragon serpent. The green dragon serpent had its long body wrapped below the woman's torso.

The woman herself was quite pretty, despite its body wrapped around the dragon serpent. She wore red bracelets, red armor breastplates and red armor shoulders. The woman had beautiful blonde luscious hair that blew in the air gracefully and was playful while the dragon part of her body was looking viciously at the echidna and cat.

Knuckles and Honey remembered the name of these masters known as Morgal, masters of beasts commanding them to her every whim. The dragon part of her body let out a roar to which Morgal quickly calmed the beast by softly petting the side of its face.

"I can definitely see where Wriph and Wrath get their looks from. Both the pretty and ugly side." Knuckles mocked.

Morgal looked at the Knuckles and Honey with a grin while still petting her dragon. "So, you're the ones who come to die first I see." She mocked.

"We're not dying here today. We're walking out alive with the others after we defeat you!" Honey yelled, clenching her fist at the woman.

"What makes you mortals think you can defeat me?" Morgal said.

"Funny you say that, didn't some mortals defeat you ages ago." Knuckles said, mocking Morgal.

"Yeah! If a group of mortals defeated you before, we can do the same!" Honey said, taunting.

"Those mortals from before were lucky that death didn't come on that day! I will not make the same mistake again! Me and the others will cause havoc in this world we have done before!" Morgal said, angrily.

Morgal raised a hand in the air and formed what seemed to be a fireball shape that was spinning. The female gave a smirk as the spinning fireball was getting bigger. Both Knuckles and Honey both frowned as they prepared themselves seeing the fireball.

"You ready Knuckles?" Honey asked.

Knuckles nodded, "Ready as always." He responded.

The human/dragon hybrid then shot her spinning fireball towards the two heroes. Knuckles and Honey both jumped out of the way as the fireball headed towards their direction. They looked to where the fireball landed, on impact the fireball bursted out into a tall fire vortex that reached the sky.

Knuckles and Honey looked back to see the dragon part of Morgal's body open its mouth to shoot multiple fire blasts. The fire blast on impact exploded around the area. Knuckles and Honey started dashing to avoid the attacks.

Morgal smiled seeing the two running from her attacks. She kept at it with her fire vortex as she sent out multiple spinning fireballs towards them. Honey would stop dead in her tracks as the fire vortexes would get in her way, making her go around or taking a longer route to reach Morgal.

Knuckles had to dodge and jump to avoid the exploding fireballs from the dragon that would shake the ground, sometimes messing with his jumps as they caused him to stagger. Knuckles had to keep running to avoid the attacks and avoid getting near the radius of the explosion to not get damaged.

As the two did their best avoiding the attacks, they looked to see that they were running towards each other. Knuckles and Honey nodded their heads for they had idea what to do. As the two got close, Knuckles bent his legs a bit and put his hands down, Honey jumped and landed on Knuckles' hands. From there Knuckles used his strength to launch Honey towards Morgal in the air.

Honey extended out her angel wings to give her better movement while airborne. Morgal sent out multiple fire vortexes towards the flying cat. Honey turned and twisted in her air as she avoided the fire vortex trying to get in her way. She managed to reach Morgal just before she could make another fire vortex.

The cat was able to land a couple of punches and kicks towards the woman. Morgal grunted pain taking Honey's attack as it took damage on her face and torso. Honey quickly backed away when the dragon serpent tried to bite her while attacking Morgal. The cat gave a quick punch to the dragon's head to make it get out of the way.

Wanting to get another hit, Honey gilded towards Morgal. Just before Honey landed more hits, Morgal put a hand out and made a blue color barrier protecting herself. Honey did her best to break Morgal's barrier but it was too strong no matter how hard she tried to break it.

Honey was then blasted away as the dragon serpent threw a quick fireball at her. Honey screamed in pain as she fell to the ground. When Honey looked up after being hit, she looked to see the dragon serpent make another fireball to finish her off while Morgal was slowly recovering herself. As the fireball finally grew closer to finishing, Knuckles glided in and punched the green Dragon on the face and made it accidentally hit Morgal, saving Honey.

Morgal was taken by surprise as she didn't have time to dodge the attack. Knuckles took the chance to attack the dragon with his fist. He gave the dragon some of his strongest punches as it hissed with each punch. Knuckles quickly glided behind the dragon and grappled its long neck, trying to squeeze the air out of it. The dragon spit a fire from its mouth as it tried to shake Knuckles off.

Knuckles gave a strong yell as held on to the dragon, and slammed the dragon alongside Morgal who also fell to the ground. Before Knuckles could give more punches, the dragon used its long dragon tail to wrap Knuckles by surprise. The green dragon started squeezing Knuckles' body as payback for grappling it from before.

The echidna tried his best to break free, but it only made the dragon squeeze him harder. Knuckles gritted his teeth and tried his best not to scream to waste his air and energy. The dragon was smirking seeing Knuckles struggle. Honey, who recovered, saw her friend was in trouble.

As she tried to save her friend, Morgal was preventing her from saving Knuckles. Morgal shot multiple fire vortexes at her. Morgal wanted Honey to forcefully watch her dragon serpent to squeeze the life out of Knuckles, but Honey was gonna make sure that didn't happen.

Honey then had an idea that might work against Morgal. The cat started dashing around left, right, forward and backwards. Morgal was trying her best to keep her eyes on the cat but she was moving so fast that her eyes were having trouble keeping up with the moving cat. What didn't help was her fire vortexes that helped hide Honey's appearance.

It wasn't long before Morgal completely lost track of Honey. She then looked over to where the dragon was still squeezing Knuckles. Morgal thought she could spot the cat trying to rescue Knuckles after disappearing from her view, but Honey was still nowhere to be seen.

Before Morgal could turn around to look for the cat again, She was then hit behind the back of the head by Honey's red boot high heel. Morgal screamed in pain as Honey's kick really damaged her head. The dragon was taken by surprise by what happened that made it let loose of Knuckles from his grip.

The loose grip was enough as Knuckles used his strength and energy to break. Once he broke free, he gave a strong uppercut underneath the dragon's mouth and knocked out some of its sharp teeth. Knuckles ran towards the tail of the dragon and grabbed.

With his strength, lifted both Morgal and her dragon and slammed them both on the ground, making cracks. Knuckles didn't stop there, he lifted the two again and slammed their bodies on the nearby stone walls opening the entrance where he and Honey entered.

Knuckles kept slamming Morgal and her dragon repeatedly on the floors and walls as they screamed. The last thing Knuckles did was spin them around and three on the wall, creating a crater. Knuckles and Honey quickly regrouped and ran towards them.

Morgal and her dragon did their best to get back to fighting the two, but they were immediately hit with Knuckles' and Honey's strong attacks. Knuckles and Honey finished off the master of the beast as they attacked the center area of the body.

Taking such a hit, Morgal felt horrified as her body started to erupt uncontrollably. From inside and outside. Knuckles and Honey backed away as they both breath heavily, watching Morgal panicking in front of them.

[Knuckles & Honey slayed Morgal!]

"No! No! NO! Not again! Twice have I been beaten by mortals! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Morgal screamed.

Morgal's body and her dragon began to turn pitch black as they slowly disappeared out of thin as she screamed in pain. The last thing Knuckles and Honey saw was a white flash coming from Morgal and she wasn't seen anywhere ever again.

Both Knuckles and Honey fell to their knees as they finally rested their bodies and breathed. Morgal was pretty tough, but working together really benefited them. Knuckles and Honey looked at each other and smiled that they could live another day as they fist bumped.

"Sonic, Tails, and Selena. We won! Morgal is history!" Honey said, she and Knuckles smiled and looked at the orange sky above, hoping their friends also succeeded in their fight.

Moments before the Morgal fight

Sonic and Tails were walking on the right pathway of the castle bridge to lead them to the right side castle. The two looked over to see Knuckles and Honey enter the castle building on the other side. Sonic and Tails stopped as they stopped as they stood in front of the entrance of the castle.

"I hope Knuckles and Honey come out alright." Tails, a bit worried for his two friends.

"Knuckles and Honey, those have been training a lot together. They can pretty much handle everything that can be thrown at them." Sonic said, remembering the times he saw Knuckles and Honey have a sparring session.

"I suppose you're right." Tails said, giving a more hopeful look at Sonic.

Sonic looked at the building's walls and began thinking by tapping his foot. "Who do you think we'll face beyond this point?" He said, curious.

"Let's see, Knuckles and Honey are possibly fighting Morgal the master of the beasts. The middle castle is most likely the Overlord's building. So that leaves us with Necros." Tails said, remembering the names of the three masters.

"Necros huh!? I think I may have an idea of what this guy might look like." Sonic teased before looking at his young brother with a serious look. "You ready, buddy?"

Tails nodded and clenched his fist at his older brother. "I know we can do this. It's time we finished this." He said, confident.

Sonic and Tails both faced the building with a straight face and entered it. Inside was completely dark as the hedgehog and fox entered making it hard to see where they were walking. As they walked further in, the entrance they came sealed up on its own. It was pitched black but only for a brief moment for multiple torches attached to the wall lit up.

Even though they were lights, there were spots in the area that were still pitch black. Sonic and Tails felt like they were in a place where an evil dead ritual would take place. As Sonic and Tails looked around to see Necros was anywhere around, but got their answer for they heard crazy maniacal laugh echoing the area.

"First you abandon your helpless friends to certain agony. Now, you stumble to your doom!" Said Necros, mocking the duo.

"We're tearing this place apart brick by brick. Your time's running out, Necros!" Sonic yelled, as he and Tails prepared themselves.

Necros laughed out loud. "Face me like the mindless moths to a flame. I'll take great care only to singe your wings before I crush your souls!" He said, while laughing like crazy.

Sonic and Tails' eyes then caught something glowing in the dark part of the room. They looked to see a pair of large red glowing eyes looking at them. The two brothers were preparing themselves thinking that Necros was going to leap forward to them.

The pair of large red eyes suddenly disappeared right in front of Sonic and Tails just before they could step back. They were taken by surprise as a beam of blue light suddenly appeared from the ground that was gonna vaporize the two aftering feeling such heat, making them jump in separate ways.

Sonic and Tails stood their ground as they looked at where they were once standing. Right there in the middle of the area was a floating torso of a skeleton with that done a purple robe. On the bottom of the torso was a large red shape orb and had two floating detachable skeleton hands with red finger tips. The levitating skeleton also had two red orbs as eyes on the face and another red orb on the bottom part of his skeleton head.

Floating there was Necros, who in his frightening skeleton look. He grinned evilly at Sonic and Tails with his teeth. Tails was a bit admittedly scared by Necros' appearance for having a reaper-like look to him, but Sonic was there with him which gave the courage and strength to fight.

"You know, you're exactly how I imagine you were gonna like." Sonic mocked the huge floating skeleton.

Necros just smiled and sent out a white deadly projectile from his hand. Sonic and Tails jumped away as the attack missed them. Necros then quickly teleported away from their sight in seconds.

He quickly reappeared behind Sonic and shot his white projectile from his hand. Sonic was quick on his feet as he leaped forward to avoid the attack. Tails tried to regroup with Sonic, but he flew close to him. Necros suddenly appeared in front of him from a quick beam of light from the ground. The evil skeleton quickly threw his white projectile at the young fox forcing to dodge and get further away from Sonic.

Sonic tried to get Tails as well, but was also being separated as Necros kept teleporting and shooting his white projectiles at the fox. Sonic watched carefully seeing how Necros was teleporting around the area. Tails was doing his best to avoid Necros' attacks.

As Sonic watched, he boosted up his speed and looked at the ground as he prepared himself. Tails was getting nervous as he kept dodging Necros' attack for he couldn't fight back due to how fast Necros was teleporting away.

Tails then found himself at a corner, seeing there was no more room to dodge. He turned and saw Necros appeared in front of him. Right as Necros appeared and could shoot his white projectiles at Tails, Sonic came in a blue blur and attacked the huge red orb part that was below his skeleton torso with his homing attack.

Necros moaned in pain and looked at Sonic with an annoyed look. While having his back turned, Tails flew in fast towards the large Skeleton and punched the red orb on the lower back of his head. Taken by surprise, Necros quickly teleported away to give himself to recover.

After teleporting himself distance away from the hedgehog and fox. Necros then disappeared again in a beam of light. Sonic and Tails tried to spot where Necros could appear, but both stopped when they saw the ground below them glow like before.

Sonic and Tails jumped out of the way as Necros tried to attack below. As the two dodged the attack, they looked to the ground to see multiple circular blue lights coming from the ground. Necros started popping out from them trying to intimidate the two brothers.

The two started moving because they didn't want to stay at the same spot until Necros started shooting his white projectiles at them. They came to a stop as Necros popped in front of them and summoned a pair of blades to his hands, instead of swinging swords. Necros put the two blades together to make a pair of huge deadly scissors.

Necros then started to chase Sonic and Tails with his scissors, trying to snip their heads or body parts off as he laughed crazy. Sonic and Tails did their best to avoid the scissors, for Necros was trying to cut Sonic's legs because of his speed and cut Tails' tails to take his ability to fly.

The chase went on for a while until Sonic and Tails were getting tired of it and decided to face Necros and his giant scissor. Sonic dashed left and right as Necros tried to cut his legs off and try to cut while he was flying in the air just above him. Necros switched back and forth trying to keep the two from getting close.

Tails watched carefully and flew towards Necros the moment he tried to attack Sonic. The fox landed on the skeleton's face. Necros quickly felt this and tried to shake Tails off his face as held on. He then raised his scissors to cut the fox off his face, but before he could do it. Sonic came in and attacked the Necros' hands.

The attack from Sonic made Necros accidentally cut his own head with his scissors as Tails flew off. It didn't hurt Necros in the slightest but it put him at a disadvantage as his torso part of his body was looking for his head.

Sonic and Tails smirked as they sprang into action. They split up as Sonic went for the torso and while Tails went for the head. From there, Sonic unleashed his speed boost and started attacking the red orb part of Necros from the part of the torso while Tails attacked the orb that was in the lower back of Necros' skull.

Necros was getting angry that his torso was having a hard time to find his head due to how Sonic was hurting it. He gathered enough energy that made his red eyes teleport his head and body back together.

Once his body was fully restored, Necros teleported away to the far distance of the room. He had a crazy look on his skeleton face as his body, he pulled out both his hands and started to shoot a series of projectiles all over the area.

Necros was trying to do two things, to beat the duo. Either vaporize them with his projectiles or destroy the building and have them get crushed by it. The skeleton wasn't too worried about the place falling on him since he could easily just rebuild himself. Sonic and Tails looked around the area to see the place crumbling down on them; they knew that this was Necros' last attempt to defeat them.

Sonic and Tails looked at each other for they also had one last trick in their sleeve to defeat Necros. Sonic jumped in the air as Tails did the same as they faced each other in the air. Tails turned his body upside down and grabbed Sonic's shoes while Sonic did the sane grabbing Tails' shoes.

The two started spinning their bodies rapidly, creating their super team move. The Rolling Combo Spin Dash, creating a swirling ball of blue and whatever the color of Tails' fur is at the moment. As the two dropped to the ground in their double team spin dash, bursted out in great speed.

Necros watched below as the two used double team moves to avoid all of his attacks which made him shoot faster to hit them or make the place crumble down sooner. It wasn't working as Sonic and Tails' spin dash was way too fast to get hit. And it was getting faster the more it moved and built up speed.

This made Necros stop and created a barrier around his body. The barrier took impact as Sonic and Tails' team spin dash made contact. Necros was trying his best to hold back the duo with his barrier while Sonic and Tails were giving it their all. Necros was putting all of his power into his barrier, but soon found that little cracks started appearing on it. Not only were there cracks on his barrier, but parts of Necros' bodies were also starting to collapse.

"Who has come before me disguised as a mortal!? Only immortals wield such unbelievable power! I am finished, but you will never defeat The Overlord!" Necros yelled.

After Necros gave his last words, Sonic and Tails gave one last push of their spin dash. They completely broke Necros' barrier and crushed every bone part of his body into pieces. Necros let out one last yell as he met his demise by the hedgehog and fox.

When Necros was no more, Sonic and Tails quickly disbanded their spin dash. While in the air, Sonic and Tails smiled and gave each other a high five in celebration before they landed on the ground.

The two brothers sat down finally able to break for that special spin dash that required a lot of energy to do. Sonic glanced at Tails and gave him a thumbs up.

"You did great buddy, I can't handle that guy without your help." Sonic said.

"Thanks, I always do my best to help you and others." Tails smiled.

Before the two could congratulate each other. The entrance they came in suddenly opened up. Sonic and Tails decided to rest a little bit before exiting out of the building seeing that there were no threats to them in the area.

Finally catching their breaths, the duo stood up as they headed towards the exit. "Selena should be at the Overlord's door by now. Luck be with you Selena." Tails said, worried about the female hedgehog.

"If she is, we better hurry. Her equipment can only last so long before the Overlord gets the best of her." Sonic said, frowning at the thought of his twin sister in danger.

"Hopefully we will meet Knuckles and Honey on the way." Tails said, still worried about his friends as he.

"I hope we get there first, I'm so gonna tease Knuckles that I beat one of the masters first before he did." Sonic said, wanting to have some victory over the echidna making Tails just smile and roll his eyes at his big brother.

During the fights of Morgal and Necros

Selena was still at the same spot she was resting after watching everyone leave a fight two of the three masters together in a duo. The sky above had turned into a night sky, longer orange with a beautiful sunset in the horizon. She was massaging her arms and legs to ease herself while resting up. Selena looked at her equipment and began to think of a strategy when and how she should use them. Like her Aura Sword, she can make it extremely powerful by channeling a lot of her energy in it but risk making her vulnerable without any strength to defend herself.

The hedgehog then pulled out an apple from her hammerspace that she had a while back and saved during her journey. She closed her eyes to enjoy the juice that apple had with each bite. After finishing eating the apple to its core and throwing it away in the dark pit. Selena stood up feeling her body refreshed after resting and eating the apple to help her give her some energy.

She grabbed her gear and put them away placing her throwing daggers, boomerang, and shield away in her hammerspace. Her sword was placed back in its sheath attached to her waist. Selena had waited long enough, and wanted to take on the Overlord while her friends were fighting.

If Selena didn't have the equipment she had with her right now. She knew wouldn't survive seconds fighting the Overlord on her own. It was thanks to the equipment and the experience of the journey with her brother and the others that helped shape up her skills.

Selena looked at the path leading to the middle castle. She took a deep breath as she prepared herself to walk forward. "Well, this is it. It's up to me now. I just hope Sonic, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles are okay. But no time for worry…..I've got a job to do!" She said with determination.

She then set a foot on the pathway and made her way towards the middle building. On the pathway on the sides, there were statues of angels holding blades and sorcerers holding their staffs that were hiding the way. Helping see through the darkness were large torches that were next to those statues. It was as if The Overlord himself was giving Selena a warm welcome as she walked towards his building.

This didn't intimidate Selena in the slightest for she kept her eyes forward on the door in front of her. Just as she was about to push the door open to enter, the door opened by itself. As the door opened, Selena was greeted by a bright gold light as she entered. Her emerald eyes were slowly adjusting to the bright lights hitting her.

Once her eyes became accustomed to the lights, the area she saw was humongous inside, lots of long pillars with huge torches that really made the place bright up like it was heaven itself. There were long glass window displays that show the night sky and its stars outside, which Selena must admit did make it look beautiful with the decor.

As Selena kept walking in the area with caution, she came to a stop near a large window display that looked like a window door. Selena then quickly unsheathed her sword as a deep menacing disembodied voice was heard talking right at her.

"Oh, the fearless fool that would stand before their executioner! It is impossible to turn away now, this is your destiny and my revenge!" Said the deep voice.

Selena just frowned and gave a cold glare as she held her blade with one hand tightly. "Your revenge will have to wait, for as long as I hold this blade, the only executioner here will be me!" She yelled back.

"You'be come so far only to place yourself in my velvet grasp. Before me, brave words turn to dust in the mouth. Hopeful thoughts wither into regret. And the confident heart melts into naked fear. Step forward, then, little one. The hour is at hand! Hahahaha!" Laughed the deep voice.

Selena took a step forward as the deep voice told her to do. When she did, the floor below opened and fell in by surprise. As she fell, Selena quickly curled up into a blue ball and landed on her feet as her eyes looked at the brick floors she landed.

The second she looked up, Ulgar the Overlord was there hovering in front of up close that his shadow covered all of Selena's body and the area around. Ulgar the Overlord was massive living up to his name as the Overlord that caused destruction to the world many years ago.

Ulgar wore two large blue shoulder pads and a gold chest with some red and glowing yellow eyes underneath his blue armor helmet. Much like Necros and the Wood Golem, he has detachable hands that float near him. He had no leg because he was just hovering in the air, meaning he was just an empty armor with no living being inside.

The Overlord looked at the blue female hedgehog with his yellow eyes and started hovering towards her. Selena rushed towards Ulgar with her sword. She hit the gold armor chest part of Ulgar with her sword only to not do much as her sword bounced off.

Selena didn't stop there, she kept giving hard slashes around the Overlord's body. She attacked the armor shoulders of the Overlord, the lower part of the body, and lastly the head where the armor was at. Selena took a swing at the red parts of Ulgar's body that was on his shoulders and on the center of his blue helmet. But that didn't work either for it didn't even leave a scratch or even faze Ulgar at all.

It was Ulgar's turn to attack, he sent out two of his detachable hands at Selena. She watched as the hands of Ulgar flew towards her. One immediately tried to squash Selena's body to the floor like a bug. She quickly dashed out of the way and started to run as the hand kept trying to squash her as it gave chase.

As she ran with her blade in her hand, Selena looked to the right and saw another of Ulgar's hand flying towards her for a punch. Selena quickly jumped to the side in the air to avoid the attack and kept running.

Selena's eyes then caught something glowing from Ulgar's body. Coming out from the gold chest plate of Ulgar's body was a blue energy ball being shot towards her. Selena quickly ducked out of the way to avoid the attack. The blue energy ball blew off in a blue explosion as it landed on the area causing some damage to it. Not only did it damage the brick floor, it also revealed that the area underneath had a spike covered floor.

This put Selena in a bit of more pressure, if the area's floor kept getting destroyed, the less room she would have to stand on. She would keep herself safe from the deadly spikes below by defeating Ulgar as fast as possible. She looked to see Ulgar charging another energy ball towards her while his detachable hands were coming at her.

Selena's eyes quickly shifted around to see all three threats coming at her. Not wanting to show any signs of being pressured, Selena dashed towards Ulgar as he charged up. Selena did her best to avoid the two huge hands. Ulger made his hands try to block and grabbed Selena to keep her away while he was getting ready to shoot. The two hands were having a hard time keeping Selena away because she was really quick on her feet thanks to her speed.

Ulgar finally powered up and shot his energy ball at his target. Selena managed to get past Ulgar's hand and saw the energy ball head towards her. Instead of dodging it like before, Selena jumped into the air facing the energy ball head on as it towards her. She gripped her aura sword tightly and focused her thoughts as the blade started to glow brightly.

With the aura sword powered up, Selena sliced the energy ball in half with her blade with an aura slash. The energy ball split into two and exploded in the air behind her. As Selena was falling down, she noticed that the gold armor chest plate on Ulgar was open to reveal a huge red glow in it where the energy balls he was shooting were coming from.

Selena kept her eyes locked on the red orb as she began channeling her energy to her aura sword. Within seconds, she quickly shot out an aura shot from her sword. The aura shot hit Ulgar's red orb that was in the inside of his armor.

When an aura shot hit Ulgar's red orb, Selena could tell she finally did some damage to the Overlord as his body shook and heard a small grunt of pain. Selena smiled, finally finding a weak spot on the Overlord as she landed on the ground.

The Overlord was trying to cover his red orb with gold armor shielding it away. Selena prepared for another aura shot at Ulger's weak spot before he covered it up. Unfortunately for her, she had to stop her attack as Ulgar's hands pushed her away from him.

Selena did her best as she almost slid off the floor into the pit of spikes. Barely she was holding on before regaining her balance and stood back up. By the looks of it, Ulgar was upping his defensive as his hands started to move more aggressively. The hedgehog just huffed at Ulgar and pulled out her shield, ready to give it her best to him.

"With dauntless resolve and strength of heart! I'll make my advance towards destiny!" Selena yelled, holding her sword and shield proudly.

Selena gave a mighty roar as she ran towards Ulgar with her equipment ready. Ulgar just prepared himself as the two went full out in their battle.

Selena did her best to time her attacks whenever Ulgar revealed his red orb. It was hard as Ulgar hovered around the area while shooting his energy ball and hands to attack Selena to make it difficult for her. He would also take the chance to slowly destroy the brick floor with quick shots of his energy balls, making it hard for Selena to run around to avoid his attacks.

There were times she was able to hit Ulgar's weak spot multiple times. It also wasn't in her favor because she was getting nervous from the spike floor below and Ulger's hands chasing her. She would sometimes get hit by Ulgar's hands as they punched and slammed her around. Her movements were also starting to slow down due how much energy she was using on her aura sword. If she used it at the pace she was going, she would be defeated easily.

Ulgar in his own way smiled seeing how tired the hedgehog was getting as his yellow eyes glimmered. She couldn't run for long or have enough space to walk on as the area was almost destroyed. He began charging up his body ready to use his orb that was inside him.

Selena gritted her teeth seeing she can't run straight towards the Overlord who had his hands ready to block and attack her to make her more weak. Selena tried her best to gain enough of her breath and energy to do anything. She was taken by surprise as The Overlord did something different with his red orb.

Instead of another energy ball, he shoots a blue energy beam blast straight at Selena. She saw how strong the beam was as it shook the area around her. Having no chance to move anywhere to avoid it, Selena took a deep breath and powered up her speed boost covering her body in a large blue aura. Before blasting off, she squatted her legs and held her shield as much as she could.

She ran towards the energy beam with her Mythril made shield protecting her. Selena and the beam of energy collide as it creates a big shock wave that pushes both Selena and Ulgar back a bit. Selena did her best to push forward as her shield was able to hold off the energy beam making her see how indestructible her shield really was.

Despite her shield not breaking, she found herself being pushed back a bit from the raw strength of the beam energy. Selena growled and leaned her body forwards putting more strength into to push back. Ulgar just laughed seeing Selena struggle and put more into his attack.

Selena started to sweat, for she was starting to lose her strength. Even her blue aura was slowly decreasing due to how much energy she was losing. She looked down to see her body slowly being pushed away despite her best effort to keep her guard. Her eyes grew when she saw behind her the pit of spikes coming close to her.

She was no longer able to push back any further as her speed boost was dying out. Ulgar let out a loud laugh seeing that the female hedgehog was only seconds away from her doom. Ulgar knew once he had killed Selena, his first step to ruling the world and was planning to destroy Sonic and the others afterwards.

Not being able to hold her ground anymore and strength dying out, Selena's leg power finally gave out as she pushed away off the solid ground. Selena was sent flying to the air after Ulgar had bested her. As she fell, she looked down to see the spike floor below ready to impale. Selena couldn't even move her body in air and even if she could it wasn't enough to get to safety on the solid ground.

Selena braced for impact but then felt something grab her arm. She first opened her eyes and looked down, her body was inches close to spikes and saw that her body was hovering above them. She looked up to see a familiar character grabbing her arm.

Grabbing her was none other than Tails, who came in just in time saving Selena's life. A big happy smile appeared on Selena's face, very happy to see her fox brother there and saving him with his flying ability. Ulgar was taken by surprise by the fox's sudden appearance to save Selena.

"Tails! You son of a gun!" Selena said, cheerfully.

"Don't worry Selena, I got you! Looks like we made it just in time." Tails said, smiling at the female hedgehog.

"We?" Selena asked.

Selena and Tails glanced over to Ulgar who was ready to shoot another energy beam. Before he could shoot it, Knuckles and Honey quickly dive in from the air. Knuckles punched down Ulgar's left hand and Honey dive kicked on the right hand, knocking them down to the ground.

Sonic quickly came in with a follow up attack and did a homing attack near the chest area of Ulgar's armor body, almost hitting his weak spot. It made the large armor boss shake inside of his body caused by the vibration from Sonic's attack.

Sonic, Knuckles, and Honey quickly backed away from Ulgar. They turned to see Tails carry Selena by her arm and placed her safety on the solid ground with the others. Selena was so happy to see everyone. She thought they were all still in their battles against the other two masters, but she was happy they were able to beat them if they were here to help her.

Sonic gave a smirk to his twin sister. "Looks like you might need some help." He teased her.

"I'm impressed you were able to hold against this guy for so long." Honey said, smiling at the female hedgehog.

"You're really tough, taking on this guy." Knuckles said, finding himself a bit more attracted to Selena's skills.

Selena chuckled as her friends praised and teased her. "Thanks, but this guy really is something. They don't call him the Overlord for nothing." She said, breathing heavily.

"Take a small break Selena, we'll take care of it from here." Tails said, wanting to stay put.

"But feel free to join once you have some of your strength back." Sonic said, giving a thumbs up.

Selena smiled and quickly gave some information to them. "Just a heads up, The Overlord has one weak spot. It's a red orb that's inside that chest armor of his. He reveals it when he shoots his long range attacks from his body." She said, while swiping the sweat from forehead.

"Gotcha! You heard her guys, aim for that red orb." Sonic said to Tails, Honey, and Knuckles as they faced over to the Overlord and started walking towards him.

Ulgar just looked at the four heroes walking towards him, surprised to see them here. "So you managed to defeat Morgal and Necros. No matter, I shall revive them once I have gotten rid of all of you." He said.

"Ain't no way that's happening, Ugly!" Sonic mocked. "It's game over for you!"

"Together we have five extra lives!" Knuckles said, pumping his fist.

"And an extra nine lives since I'm a cat!" Honey stated proudly.

"It doesn't work like that Honey, but yeah!" Tails said, ready to face the overlord.

The Overlord had enough of everyone's nonsense and started to attack the group. He started by trying to smash and squish the gang with his hands. The gang smiled at each other and spread out. Knuckles and Honey were dealing with the Overlord's hands and they tried to grab and smash them. Honey jumped and dive kicked on the hand trying her best to keep it down. Knuckles with strength held to the other hand and slammed it down to the ground.

Over to Sonic and Tails was at, Tails was flying around the Overlord's body taunting him. The Overlord wanted to use his hands to swat away Tails for he was acting like an annoying fly but couldn't because his hands were dealing with Knuckles and Honey.

Tails would keep annoying the Overlord constantly, by making funny faces and whacking his face with tails despite not hurting him. The Overlord was getting furious not being able to swat Tails away, but quickly open chest armor plate and began shooting multiple quick energy balls out of rage from his red orb

While Ulgar was shooting at the flying fox, Sonic watched the movement of the Overlord and boosted up his speed boost. Because the Overlord was blinded by rage caused by the fox, Sonic hit the Overlord with a powerful homing attack on his red orb. It hurt Ulgar a lot since Selena already did some damage to it from her aura sword.

Selena who was watching the battle from the background was amazed seeing her brother and his friends fight together. She saw how fast they were coordinating with each other. It was amazing to see the difference between fighting alongside them and watching them all fight.

Just seeing all of them fighting together, made Selena get motivated and gather some energy to keep fighting for she didn't want to let her friends get all the fun. The Overlord had a hard time trying to defend himself. Selena kept watching until she finally gathered the strength to stand.

Like her brother said before, she was more than welcome to join in the fight when she was ready. Selena ready her aura sword and ran towards the others to help. She helped using other weapons like throwing daggers and boomerang on the Overlord's hands to aid Knuckles and Honey and help shield Sonic and Tails from the energy ball.

What made the Overlord even more annoyed and angry were smiles and laughs the whole gang were making as they fought him. He sees Knuckles and Honey high five, Selena fist bumping Tails, and Sonic waving to his friends. Because of this, Ulgar decided to do one last thing and that was to self destruct his own body.

It was fine since he was just a non living being, the only downside is that it would take some years to recover after exploding but it was surely enough to destroy all five of the heroes at once. His body began to flow uncontrollably as well as the red orb.

Just before his body could explode, Selena jumped in and stabbed the Red Orb on Ulgar's chest. Her attack completely made him stop as felt such great pain as the blade was stabbed deeply. Selena pulled out her aura and jumped back.

The Overlord was too much in pain as his hands started to shake and move uncontrollably. But the gang knew it wasn't over yet as long as the Overlord was still hovering. Selena closed eyes and channeled every last single bit of her energy to her aura sword and made it glow very brightly.

"Do it Selena, finish him off." Sonic said, want his sister to do the final blow.

"Now, I won't." Selena answered.

Everyone looked confused by what Selena said to them. The female hedgehog turned her head and looked at her friends with a smile.

"Let's finish him off together."

Sonic, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles smiled realizing what Selena wanted them to do. They stood close to her and placed their hands on the handle of her aura sword. They all closed their eyes and began focusing their energy towards the sword.

Because it was gathering energy from all five heroes. The aura from the sword grew into one long energy blade that can cut a building. They all steady their aim at Overlord who was too much in pain to move, but they could tell he was panicking seeing the power of the aura sword gather so much energy. Everyone looked at each other and smiled as they held the blade together and started running towards Ulgar who was trying his best to move out of the way.

"Together!" Selena yelled out loud.

Selena and the whole gang gave a loud yell together as they stabbed Ulgar right on the chest, the energy from the aura so strong it penetrated through his gold armor and even stabbed through his whole body.

"Noooo! It can't be! A god myself can't be beaten by a bunch of mortals!" Ulgar screamed.

It didn't stop there, once the gang managed to penetrate through Ulger completely. They all raised the sword up and cut the upper part of his body completely in half.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" Ulger screamed at his defeat.

Ulgar's body started flashing in a white glow as the area began to shake like a massive earthquake was happening as the place was crumbling down. The gang watched as Ulgar's body was slowly disappearing as his body kept glowing. The energy from the aura sword also quickly died out as Selena fell to her knees in exhaustion but was quickly held up by Sonic and Knuckles.

The whole area started falling apart and the gang weren't sure what to do because they didn't know how to escape the area. A flashing light started blinking around them. They felt their bodies tingle as they were engulfed completely in a white light, not knowing what would happen next as their bodies disappeared.

Back into the top of the Orb Tower, the black seal on the pedestal that Selena placed was glowing in a white light. The door leading to the Overlord's dimensional palace opened up widely and the light from it made it more bright. It kept glowing brightly as it flashed the whole room with its light.

After a moment of blinking, Sonic, Selena, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles all suddenly appeared back in the series of white flashes happening to them. They kept their eyes closed until the white flashes came to a stop. Once it stopped, they looked around and found themselves back on the top level of Orb Tower.

They all quickly turn to look at the Black Seal to it shaking violently. The gang frowns thinking that Overlord was doing his best efforts to escape from the seal. They even got more worried as a crack appeared on the Black Seal, ready to break apart as some purple smoke was leaking from the crack like a hot steam.

The Black Seal then suddenly slowly turns into stone preventing the purple smoke from leaking out. This must be the work of Kazyr's magic that he put on the Black Seal before he was defeated by Selena. When the Black Seal was completely turned to stone, it then turned into dust losing its round shape completely.

Selena, who was still being held up by Sonic and Knuckles, smiled that their troubles were truly over. Knowing that there were no threats to deal from the Masters of Evil and their army, she let go of her aura sword as it dropped it to the ground as her legs were trembling, not able to stand properly anymore for they have reached their limit and the same for the rest of Selena's body.

"We…did it." Selena said, smiling where the Black Seal once stood.

Selena passed out from exhaustion using so much of her energy fighting the Overlord on her own. The others were quick to worry as they saw Selena pass out completely, fearing that the female hedgehog's life was in danger. Everyone but Sonic began to frown, Sonic just smiled seeing that his twin sister was still breathing.

"It's okay guys, she's just taking a break. A break she deserves." Sonic said, looking at the smiling female hedgehog and picked up her aura sword from the ground while everyone gathered round Selena and smiled at her.

It's been a few hours since Selena and the gang defeated the Overlord and saved the world from his upcoming tyranny. The gang were able to exit the castle of Creepy Craig very easily since all the monsters that roamed the area vanished and all the deadly traps were disabled now that the Overlord was defeated.

The gang were able to make it back to the Tornado and head towards Sonic's home safe and sound. They began to recall what happened in their adventure together as Tails flew the gang to familiar ground. They waited patiently for the female hedgehog to wake up from deep slumber wondering what she had to say about their adventure now that it has ended.

Once they reached the back area near Sonic's home. Sonic and the others decided to chill and relax near a grass hill while the day was still sunny and bright. Sonic carried Selena in his arms up the grass hill where on top was a big tree. Tails, Honey, and Knuckles were nearby as they looked at the white puffy cloud floating by as they sat in the grass hill together and began talking to each other.

Sonic carefully placed Selena on the ground where the tree was giving her shade from the sun, wanting her to be comfortable as she rested. Sonic just sat back against the tree and got himself comfortable as he too just closed eyes and rested his mind as he stayed quiet to enjoy the peaceful moment with his sister and friends.

Selena kept sleeping for about an hour more until she finally moved her head a bit. She frowned a bit, finding the position of her head was quite uncomfortable as her eyelids were twitching from the sunlight. It made her slowly open her eyes for the first thing she saw was the blue sky covered by the tree leaves and branches.

With her eyes half closed, she took a moment to realize what had happened. She sat up and looked at the beautiful grassy valley in front of her. Many trees, green hills, and rocky mountains could be seen where she was was quite a sight, Selena thought she had died and gone to heaven after going through a deadly battle against Ulgar.

Selena snapped out of it and looked down the hill to see Tails, Honey, and Knuckles sitting next to each other. Honey turned around and was the first to notice Selena awake from her slumber. The cat happily smiled and tapped both Tails' and Knuckles' shoulders and pointed at Selena. Tails and Knuckles both smiled and waved at Selena. The pauldron wearing a hedgehog smiled and waved back to her friends, happy to see them and seeing that this wasn't a dream or she had died.

"About time you wake up."

Selena looked behind to see her twin brother sitting and laying back on the tree they were underneath. Sonic was giving a teasing look seeing Selena finally awake and stood up to stretc his arms.

"Where are we?" Selena asked, while wiping her eyes.

"Back home, where we started and ended." Sonic said.

"Is everyone alright? No serious injuries?" Selena asked.

"Nah, if anything we were more worried about you. You really pushed yourself hard against the Overlord." Sonic said, looking at her at the aura sword that was next to her.

"Yeah sorry about that." Selena said, a bit embarrassed making everyone worry about her.

Sonic and Selena then turn to see Tails, Honey, and Knuckles walking up the hill they were at. "Good to see you're finally awake Selena!" Honey said, giving Selena a sisterly hug for she was very happy to see her alive and well as Selena hugged her back.

"Yeah, we thought you might never wake up." Tails said, giving a fist bump to the female hedgehog .

"You were quite the sleeping beauty you know." Knuckles said, flirting and teasing.

"I just thought you were being too lazy to wake up haha." Sonic laughed and teased his twin sister.

Selena smiled and chuckled at everyone. "Sorry to make you all worry about it, but I'm happy that we made it out alive." she said, grateful for the outcome.

"Oh I forgot! We have a surprise for you Selena." Sonic said, remembering something.

"Really? A surprise for me?" Selena asked, tilting her head as she grew curious.

"Oh yeah!" Honey said, also remembering what they have for Selena.

"It's right behind the tree." Said Tails, pointing out.

Selena grew more curious and started walking behind the tree. As she walked behind the tree, her emerald eyes sparkled in joy immediately as she let out a huge gasp that made her heart pump so fast. There in front of her was a large pile of gold and jewelry that glowed heavenly with the sun's light. Selena formed a big cute smile as she tried to hold her excitement by biting her own lips.

"No way! Where did you guys get this!?" Selena said, dashing around the pile of gold.

"We found a door at the orb tower holding a room filled with gold and jewelry after you passed out. It's Kazry's treasure I believe. I don't think he would mind you having it after helping him." Sonic said, keeping his emerald eyes on his sister who was dashing around the pile of gold in a blue blur for she was too excited to keep still.

"Since you're looking for some fortune. We decided to take it. Luckily I had a huge bag stored in the Tornado's storage to put in it." Said Tails, chuckled.

"I carried that huge sack of gold on the way back, since I was the only one who could carry it." Knuckles said, trying to impress Selena.

"And it's just all for you." Honey giggled.

"Really!? I can have it!?" Selena asked.

"Yeah, we don't really need it anyways. I'm not a gold and jewelry guy." Sonic said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Just don't let Rouge know you have that." Knuckles warned her.

The hedgehog couldn't help herself as she rushed in to take a closer look at the gold and jewelry, surprising everyone with her sudden burst of joy. "Yahoo! I hit the jackpot back!" She yelled.

Selena then dived in the pile of her new fortune and began throwing the gold in the air making it rain. "I stuck it rich! Yahoo! Hahahahaha! Yahoo!" She kept yelling.

She kept laughing and cheering, making the gang a bit worried that may have lost her to the money as Sonic tried to calm her down. "Umm…Selena? Selena? Hello?" Sonic said, waving at his twin sister who was still laughing and cheering as she played with money.

"Oh forget it! She's lost it!" Honey said, chuckling at her hedgehog sister's happiness.

Selena kept laughing and cheering at her new acquired fortune. She kept at it until she finally calmed down and relaxed on her pile of gold and jewelry. Even though it was completely hers, she offered some of it to her friends since they helped her on the journey. To which they declined because they have no need for it.

After she completely calmed down Selena jumped off her pile of gold and jewelry and looked at her brother. "What now? We saved the day but what's next?" She asked, wondering about the future.

Sonic rubbed his chin and began to think. "Not sure, it won't be a while until the next adventure or when Eggman attacks." He said, trying to think.

The rest of the gang also started to think what to do as they comedically rub their chins in the same way. It wasn't long until Selena got an idea and snapped her finger. She stood up and stood in front of everyone.

"How about we play some Sega CD!" Selena suggested.

"Yeah!" Everyone cheered as they agreed with Selena.

Everyone headed off back to Sonic's house which was really close by so Selena didn't have to worry about her fortune being taken or stolen since the area where Sonic's live hardly has anyone else coming by. In the meantime, Selena asked Sonic to hold her fortune in the basement of his house until she could find a spot of her own to put it on.

The rest of the day the gang had nothing but fun playing the Sega CD together and went out to eat some delicious food together. They still had the whole day to themselves just fooling around and having fun.

During their time together, Selena was thinking about the next move and what to do in her life. She wanted to go on an adventure and was very hungry for one. She could stay with her brother and friends but much like her brother Sonic, she had to keep moving on.

Selena decided to stay for a couple days with her brother and others to spend more time with them as the day of her departure came shortly. During those days of relaxation, Selena went to a small gathering party at Vanilla's house where she met and talked to Blaze, Vanilla, and Cream and told them about their adventure with Sonic, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles also attending that small gathering party.

There were times during those days Selena stayed with Sonic that Shadow himself would make a presence for Selena and love her new look that was appealing to his eyes. Shadow had matured up on his affection for Selena, but still tried to win her heart by giving her flowers, trying to impress her with his motorcycle and treat her with more respect. While Selena was impressed that Shadow matured a bit more, she still wasn't interested in being in a romantic relationship for what she wanted was adventure and money. That and there were times where Knuckles himself would try to stop Shadow from winning Selena's heart who Knuckles himself was also after. To which Sonic and Honey like watching the black hedgehog and red echidna fight over the blue female hedgehog's heart.

After days of fun and relaxation, Sonic, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles was outside of Sonic's home as Selena was getting her equipment ready for the adventure that awaits for her. The female hedgehog attached a small pouch of her gold for travels to her waist. Selena made sure she had everything like her throwing daggers, boomerang, Mythril Shield, and aura sword in her inventory. She looked in the direction she was planning to head off but first looked at Sonic and his friends to say her goodbye.

"You sure you don't want to stay and be the fifth member of our group? We could always need a hand fighting Eggman and other threats." Honey asked, a little sad that her hedgehog sister is leaving.

"Thanks, but I don't want to overstay my welcome. It might get a bit annoying for my brother." Selena said, teasing Sonic who rolled his eyes at her.

"Well if you're ever nearby, just remember that you're always welcome here with us." Tails said, with open arms.

"Come by Angel Island sometimes. I'll treat ya with some island fruits and my homemade grape juice." Knuckles offered as he gave a wink.

Selena smiled. "Thanks to all of you, for helping on this journey. Without you guys, I couldn't have done it on my own. You helped me unbiff my biff." She said to everyone as they chuckled.

"No problem! This adventure was fun!" Honey said, clapping her hand in joy.

"Not only that, but this adventure somehow gave me closure." Selena admitted as she looked at the beautiful blue sky.

"Closure?" Tails wondered.

"Yeah I don't know why, but I feel like this adventure was something that was supposed to happen a long time ago and we made it happen now. Like I was born to take this magical fantasy adventure. I just feel like we answered a few questions that many were curious about. Does that seem odd to you?" Selena asked as her friends shrugged at the question, who were not sure how to respond.

"What's your next step after you leave?" Knuckles asked, very curious.

"I want to head back to the places we went through. I gotta tell everyone the good news about the Overlord's defeat. Plus, it would be nice to see what Gaw and Tatt are doing. With my new equipment and most of the monsters gone. It should be a breeze that I might come back soon to join you guys when another adventure happens." Selena said.

Sonic stepped forward and finally spoke up after staying silent in front of everyone. He smiled as he and Selena looked at each other with their matching emerald yes.

"I gotta say sis, this adventure we have was quite…." Sonic stopped trying to think of a word that best describes their experience.

"What? Bizarre?" Selena teases her twin who was still thinking.

"Popful." Sonic finally answered and gave a wink as he and Selena laughed together.

The two twin hedgehogs walked towards each other. They gave each other a warm goodbye hug that lasted a bit. Tails, Honey, and Knuckles watched and smiled seeing the two siblings get along. Though Knuckles inside him was getting jealous that Selena wasn't hugging him. Sonic and Selena broke their hug but Sonic put his hands on his sister's pauldron covered shoulders and looked straight into her emerald eyes and spoke to her one last time before she headed off on her own.

"Take care, Sister Sonic."

Selena couldn't help but chuckle at what Sonic said but nodded happily. She stepped back from her twin brother and turned to look the other way to start her new adventure. Before heading off, she looked at Sonic and others gave one last wave goodbye to all of them. She then pulled out her aura sword and blasted away from the scene with her speed boost.

Sonic and others didn't feel sad or teary (Except Knuckles who was crying inside.) for they knew that this wasn't gonna be the last they see of Selena. They knew when she comes back to them, they will have more Popful tales to share and experience whenever she's around.

(A/N): Here we are, the finish line of this story. The journey to making this story was a fun one. For a long time, I knew the existence of the canceled spin off Sonic game, Sister Sonic. Over the years, I kept thinking to myself if I could make a story out of it which was tough since there was no gameplay or plot synopsis of that version of that game. Not even a concept art to what Sister Sonic would look like, just that it was gonna be a reskin of Popful Mail and then later a Turn-Based RPG game (Hence that joke in chapter 3.). I figure since Sister Sonic was gonna be a reskin of Popful Mail that I use the plot of that to adapt it into a story. Of course it's not a complete retelling of Popful Mail's plot because I made some changes like cutting out certain characters, boss fights and my own little plots. If you played Popful Mail you would know the differences I made to this story. I think it's safe to say that this is the first time someone actually made a Sister Sonic adaptation story since I haven't seen one made and I was happy to do it.

Before making this, I wanted to do a bunch of research for it. For starters, to make the story I wanted to experience it. I bought a broken and cheap Sega CD for my Sega Genesis that got repaired and bought a reproduction copy of Popful Mail for cheap. Playing the game helped me write the story through the frustration I went through for certain bosses and levels *Cough*WoodGolem*Cough*. Not only did playing the game help, I also used the official Popful Mail strategy guide online to help me describe the level and enemy's name.

As I said in the author's note in chapter one, this year marks Popful Mail's 30th anniversary on the Sega CD. I really hope one day they port Popful Mail to modern consoles so that everyone could play it. Maybe one day. Before I end this, I want to give big thanks to those that help bring this story to life. But don't worry I'll be back and so will Selena in future stories.
