At the Ballonlea Pokemon Center, while Lincoln and his sisters and friends Pokemon were getting treated, they were on their Rotom Phones, talking to their families.
"Congratulations on winning the Fairy Badges, kids." said Lynn Sr.
"We're all very proud of you all." said Rita.
"Man, Lincoln; your Cinderace was awesome!" said Lynn Jr.
"Thanks, everyone." said Lincoln.
"So, what else is new with you?" asked Lynn Sr.
"Opal has chosen Lola to be the new Ballonlea Gym Leader." said Lincoln.
"WHAT?!" exclaimed the Loud parents.
"Is that, literally, true?" asked Lori.
"It's true." said Luna.
"Does she really want to do that?" asked Luan.
"I get to hang around cute fairy Pokemon, be in front of large cheering crowds, and I get to make a lot of money." said Lola.
"What about your pageant career?" asked Rita.
"I'm getting bored with it." said Lola. "No one's a challenge to me; and besides, being a gym leader seems more exciting!"
"Did you think about it?" asked Rita.
"Yes, and it's what I want to do now." said Lola. "When I'm old enough, and Opal retires, then she'll pass the torch to me."
"And I'll watch over her until that day comes." said Lincoln.
"You're staying, too?!" asked Lynn Sr.
"Being a Pokemon trainer has been one of the best things I ever had going for me." said Lincoln.
"And I bet Lincoln wants to stay with Marnie." said Leni with a big smile, making Lincoln blush.
"I want to stay with Allister." said Lucy from behind Lincoln, surprising him.
"I wonder if you two could be co-gym leaders." said Lana.
"Next time I see him I'll ask." said Lucy. Lynn Sr starts to tear up.
"We're losing our kids!" cried Lynn Sr before he runs into his room.
"I gotta calm your father down." said Rita. "We'll talk about this later."
"Okay; bye Mom." said Lincoln before he ends the call.
"You think we told him too soon?" asked Lucy.
"Probably." said Lincoln.
"So, what now?" asked Luna.
"Let's watch the next gym battle." said Lincoln.
"It'll pass time before it gets dark." said Clyde. The group goes to the bleachers and find enough seats that are close together. They all watch as Opal, along with the girl that was watching Lincoln, wearing a basic Gym Ghallenger uniform, both walk to the center of the arena.
"It's nice to meet you, young lady." said Opal.
"Yes, it's nice to meet you too." said the girl.
"I hope we have an interesting battle." said Opal.
"Believe me, elder; it will be." said the girl before she and Opal go to opposite ends of the arena as an official comes to the center of it.
"This gym battle will be against the Gym Leader Madam Opal, and the Gym Challenger, Gloria." said the official. "Both trainers will use four Pokemon. Whichever trainer is able to defeat all of their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin."
Opal and the girl, now identified as Gloria, each take a pokeball off their waists; Opal throws hers, releasing her Mawile.
"And Opal starts out with her Mawile." said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Gloria use?"
"Heatmor, I choose you!" said Gloria as she tosses her pokeball, releasing a bipedal Pokemon that looked like an anteater with a beige head, red body with yellow stripes, fiery tongue, yellow claws, and a tail that looked like a muffler.
"What is that?" asked Lana with interest as she points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Heatmor, the Anteater Pokemon. A flame serves as its tongue, melting through the hard shell of Durant so that Heatmor can devour their insides." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"And Gloria brings out a Heatmor!" said the announcer. "Can it heat things up enough to take down Madam Opal's Mawile?!"
Meanwhile, back at the battle, Mawile's ponytail jaws snarl at Gloria's Heatmor, making it nervous and lowering its attack power.
"Heatmor, use Fire Lash!" said Gloria. Heatmor's tongue extends and lashes out at Mawile, hitting it, dealing super effective damage, and lowers its defense.
"Mawile, use Crunch!" said Opal. Mawile moves towards Heatmor and bites down on it with its ponytail jaws, damaging Heatmor, and lowering its defense.
"Heatmor, use Fire Punch!" said Gloria. One of Heatmor's hands becomes coated in fire as it forms it into a fist; he punches Opal's Mawile, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Mawile is unable to battle. Heatmor is the winner." said the official.
"And Heatmor beats Mawile, bringing Opal down to three Pokemon remaining!" said the announcer. "What will Opal do now?" Opal then returns her Mawile to its pokeball.
"You did well, Mawile." said Opal. She puts Mawile's pokeball away, pulls another one off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Weezing.
"And Opal brings out her Weezing!" said the announcer. "Can it extinguish Heatmor, and Gloria's hope of winning this match?!"
"Question!" said Opal. "What is my nickname? Wizard or magic-user?"
"Wizard?" answered Gloria.
"Correct!" said Opal. A surge of energy rises up from Heatmor, increasing her special defense.
"Heatmor, use Lick!" said Gloria. Heatmor's tongue extends and it licks Weezing that suddenly starts twitching.
"And it looks like Weezing's paralyzed!" said the announcer.
"Weezing, use Sludge Bomb!" said Opal. Weezing fights through paralysis and fires off a ball of sludge at Heatmor, hitting it, and deals damage; Heatmor suddenly looks ill.
"Looks like Heatmor's been poisoned!" said the announcer.
"Heatmor, use Incinerate!" said Gloria. Heatmor fires a ball of fire out of its mouth that hits Weezing, doing damage.
"Weezing, use Assurance!" said Opal. Weezing fights through its paralysis once more; it flies at Heatmor and rams it hard, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Heatmor is unable to battle. Weezing is the winner." said the official.
"Opal's Weezing has beaten Gloria's Heatmor; now both trainers are down to three Pokemon." said the announcer. Gloria returns Heatmor to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Heatmor." said Gloria. she puts Heatmor's pokeball away, then pulls out another one. "Doublade, I choose you!" Gloria tosses her pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that looked like a couple of swords crossed together.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the new Pokemon.
"Doublade, the Sword Pokemon, and the evolved form of Honedge. The two swords employ a strategy of rapidly alternating between offense and defense to bring down their prey." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This says that Doublade is part ghost and part steel." said Lincoln.
"I should find one for myself." said Lucy. Back on the battlefield.
"Doublade, Slash!" said Gloria. Doublade flies at Weezing and slashes it with one of its body swords, damaging it.
"Weezing, use Heat Wave!" said Opal. Weezing opens its mouth and releases a wind of flames out of it and it hits Doublade, dealing super effective damage.
"Doublade, use Iron Head!" said Gloria. Jagged metal appeared around the sheathes of Doublade's swords; it flies at Weezing and rams it with its sheathes, knocking it back.
"Weezing, Assurance!" said Opal. Weezing flies at Doublade and rams it, dealing super effective damage.
"Slash once more!" said Gloria. Doublade flies at Weezing and slashes it with one of its body sword blades, knocking it out.
"Weezing is unable to battle. Doublade wins the match." said the official.
"Gloria's Doublade has defeated Opal's Weezing, bringing Opal down to two Pokemon." said the announcer. Opal returns Weezing to its pokeball.
"You did well, Weezing." said Opal. She puts Weezing's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Togekiss, go!" She throws Togekiss' pokeball, and releases it.
"Opal's next Pokemon is her Togekiss!" said the announcer.
"Question!" said Opal. "What is my favorite color? Pink or purple?"
"Pink." said Gloria.
"Incorrect." said Opal. Doublade's special attack strength decreases. "Togekiss, Air Slash!" Togekiss' wings glowed white and it flaps them, releasing circular blades of energy that hits Doublade, but not dealing much damage.
"Iron Head!" said Gloria. Doublade flies towards Togekiss while jagged metal forms on its sword sheathes and rams them into Togekiss, dealing super effective damage.
"Metronome!" said Opal. Togekiss waves its wings left and right until the tip of its wings glowed white and flashed; a stream of purple and blue fire is released from Togekiss' mouth and it hits Doublade, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Doublade is unable to battle. Togekiss wins the match." said the official.
"Opal's Togekiss has beaten Gloria's Doublade; now Gloria only has two Pokemon left!" said the announcer. Gloria returns Doublade to its pokeball.
"You were great, Doublade." said Gloria. She puts Doublade's pokeball away, and pulls out a Heal Ball. "Musharna, go!" She throws the Heal Ball and releases a light purple, bipedal, round Pokemon with a pink head and a small trunk. Lola points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Musharna, the Drowsing Pokemon, and the evolved form of Munna. It drowses and dreams all the time. It's best to leave it be if it's just woken up, as it's a terrible grump when freshly roused from sleep." said Lola's Rotom Phone.
"Togekiss, Air Slash!" said Opal. Togekiss flaps its wings, releasing circular blades of energy from them at Musharna.
"Calm Mind!" said Gloria. Musharna glows brightly and its special attack and special defense strength before the energy blades hits it, but not doing much damage. "Now use Zen Headbutt!" Musharna's head glows blue and it flies at Togekiss, ramming its head into it, dealing damage, and making it flinch.
'That Odd Incense I gave Musharna was worth those pokedollars.' Gloria thinks to herself. "Okay, Musharna, use Psychic!" Musharna's eyes glowed blue and a blue shockwave is released from its body and it hits Togekiss, dealing damage, and weakening its special defense strength.
"Togekiss, Extreme Speed!" said Opal. Togekiss flies at Musharna with incredble speed and rams it, knocking it back.
"Musharna, Hypnosis!" said Gloria. Light blue waves come out of Musharna's body and onto Togekiss; it falls to the ground, sleeping.
"Wake up, Togekiss!" said Opal.
"Musharna, Dream Eater!" said Gloria. Musharna becomes surrounded by red energy; a stream of it goes onto the sleeping Togekiss, draining its remaining energy and healing some of Musharna's wounds; Togekiss passes out.
"Togekiss is unable to battle. Musharna wins the match." said the official.
"Gloria's Musharna has defeated Opal's Togekiss; now Opal is down to her final Pokemon!" said the announcer. Opal returns Togekiss to its pokeball.
"You fought well, Togekiss." said Opal. She puts Togekiss' pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing well so far, Gloria; but you still have to beat one more Pokemon if you want to win my Fairy Badge. Alcremie, go!" She throws Alcremie's pokeball and releases it.
"And Opal's final Pokemon is her Alcremie!" said the announcer. Opal then returns it to its pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it before she heaves it as hard as she could, letting her Alcremie back out, only Gigantamaxed. "And Opal has Gigantimaxed her Alcremie!" Lana and Lola stared at Alcremie while drooling.
"Question!" said Opal. "How old am I? 16 or 88?"
"88." answered Gloria.
"I don't like that answer." said Opal. Musahrna's special defense gets decreased. "Alcremie, use Max Starfall!" Multiple stars fall from above and they land on Musharna, dealing damage; a pink fog then sweeps the area.
"Musharna, use Psychic!" said Gloria. Musharna glows blue, making a similar-colored aura appear around Alcremie that squeezes it.
"Alcremie, use Max Strike!" said Opal. A geyser of energy shoots out from underneath Musharna that envelops her, dealing enough damage to knock her out.
"Musharna is unable to battle. Alcremie is the winner." said the official.
"And Alcremie beats Musharna." said the announcer. "Now Gloria has only one Pokemon remaining. What Pokemon will she battle with?" Gloria returns her Musharna to its Heal Ball.
"You did well, Musharna." said Gloria. She then puts Musharna's Heal Ball on her waist and pulls off her last one; she tosses it, releasing a tall, bipedal, blue reptilian Pokemon with slender limbs, black legs, a long blue tail, and a yellow frill that reaches down its back.
"What's that?" asked Clyde as he points his Rotom Phone at the new Pokemon.
"Inteleon, the Secret Agent Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Sobble. Its nictitating membranes let it pick out foes' weak points so it can precisely blast them with water that shoots from its fingertips at Mach 3." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"And Gloria's final Pokemon is an Inteleon!" said the announcer. "Can it defeat Opal's Alcremie?"
"When I got my first Pokemon; Sobble was one of the three choices I had to pick from." said Lincoln. "But I made my decision for starter and I'm proud of how strong Scorbunny became."
Back on the battlefield, the battle was about to continue. Gloria then returns her Pokemon to its pokeball.
"What's she doing?" asked Sam. Gloria then uses the Dynamax Band that's on her wrist and uses it to enlarge Inteleon's pokeball; she then heaves it, releasing her now Dynamaxed Inteleon.
"And Gloria has Dynamaxed her Inteleon!" said the announcer.
"Inteleon, use Max Geyser!" said Gloria. Inteleon points its finger at Alcremie and a strong geyser of water comes out that hits it, doing damage; it suddenly starts to rain inside.
"And Inteleon's attack has caused a rainstorm to appear!" said the announcer.
'That Sea Incense I gave Inteleon was worth every pokedollar spent on it.' Gloria thinks to herself.
"Alcremie, use Max Starfall!" said Opal. Alcremie summons another batch of stars that fall onto Inteleon and explode on impact, dealing damage.
"Inteleon, use Max Geyser one more time!" said Gloria. Inteleon fires off another geyser that was powered up by the rainstorm and its Sea Incense and it hits Alcremie, doing enough damage to cause the energy in it to explode and returns it to its normal size, unconscious.
"Alcremie is unable to battle. Inteleon is the winner. The winner of the match is the Gym Challenger, Gloria." said the official.
"Gloria's done it!" said the official. "Inteleon has beaten Alcremie, earning Gloria the victory!"
"Excellent, Inteleon!" said Gloria as her Inteleon returns to its normal size.
"That was pretty good." said Lincoln.
"You and I were better, Linky." said Lola. "We only needed two Pokemon."
Back on the battlefield, Opal was returning her Alcremie to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Alcremie." said Opal. She puts the pokeball away and walks over to Gloria. "You did well, young lady."
"Thank you, elder." said Gloria. Opal reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Fairy Badge.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with this Fairy Badge." said Opal as she hands Gloria the badge, along with some pokedollars.
"Thanks." said Gloria. As she starts to leave the arena, she sees Lincoln and locks eyes with him, she then winks, making Lincoln blush.
"Did she wink at you, bro?" asked Luna with a grin.
"I think so." said Lincoln as he continues to blush.
"Let's get going." said Ronnie Anne with a frown on her face.
Later in the lobby, the group was just doing some stretching.
"Where's the next gym at?" asked Sam. Lincoln brings up the map on his Rotom Phone.
"It's in a place called Circhester." said Lincoln.
"We'll start heading there tomorrow." said Luna.
"I would love to stay for the night to read the book that Madam Opal gave me." said Lola.
"Sounds good to me." said Lincoln. Suddenly, he feels a pair of arms drape over his shoulders; he looks behind him and blushes when he sees Gloria.
"Hello, Lincoln lad." Gloria whispers into his ear before she nuzzles his cheek, making his blush intensify, his sisters giggle, Clyde and Sam smirk, and Ronnie Anne clench her teeth.
Meanwhile, somewhere on a road east of Hammerlocke, Marnie was walking down it towards Circhester with Team Yell following after her when she stops and growls.
"What's with you, Marnie?" asked a Team Yell member.
"I feel mad for some reason." said Marnie as she puts her hand over her heart. "I hope nothing's wrong with Lincoln."
"We're sure he's fine." said another Team Yell member.
"And don't forget the Luvdiscs encounter." said another Team Yell member. "You two were meant to be together."
"I suppose you're right." said Marnie with a smile and blush.
Back at the Ballonlea Stadium, Gloria just releases Lincoln.
"What did you think of my battle?" Gloria asked Lincoln.
"I thought you were awesome." said Lincoln, making Gloria smile.
"Though you only needed two Pokemon to beat Opal." said Gloria.
"And Opal has chosen me to be her successor." said Lola with a look of pride.
"Good for you, wee lass." said Gloria as she continues to look at Lincoln.
"Would you like to give your Inteleon the ability to Gigantamax?" asked Lincoln, surprising Gloria.
"I can do that?" asked Gloria.
"There's a place called the Isle of Armor." said Lincoln. "In it is a dojo where someone has a recipe for something called Max Soup; it has the ability to give certain Pokemon the ability to Gigantamax."
"Really?" asked Gloria. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and brings up the map; he then points out the Isle of Armor and the spot where the Master Dojo is.
"To make the soup, you'll need three very large red mushrooms with spirals on their caps called Max Mushrooms in order to do so." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Gloria before she wraps her arms around Lincoln's neck and kisses him on the lips, making his face turn red, his sisters squeal with delight, Clyde and Sam look with shock, and Ronnie Anne snarl ferociously; and for some reason, a loud screaming was heard that sounded like it came from far away.
"W-What was that for?" Lincoln asked Gloria.
"A thank you for the information." said Gloria. "And if you're lucky, then I might 'thank you' again." She then winks at Lincoln before running out of the lobby.
"What would Marnie think if she finds out about Gloria?" asked Lana with a grin.
"Hopefully she'll be mature about it." said Clyde.
"Let's just go!" said Ronnie Anne before she grabs Lincoln's hand and starts pulling him after her.
"I think Ronnie Anne's jealous." said Lola with a smirk.
"Lincoln better be careful." said Lucy.
"Let's go after them." said Luna.
The Louds have just met Gloria, and Lincoln has another admirer. What other things will they experience as their Galar adventures continue?
