Grandtree Arena, and Warden Lian
The Galaxy Team Survey Corps make their way south towards their destination. They soon reach a large river that had a path going through it; on the other side was a large forest.
"That's the Heartwood." said Professor Laventon.
"So, that's where the frenzied Kleavor is?" asked Lori.
"It is." Professor Laventon replied.
"Well, let's get going then." said Luna. As they neared the other side of the river, they spot a Bibarel that was larger than Lily's, and with glowing red eyes.
"An Alpha Pokemon!" said Akari as she and the rest of the group duck behind some large nearby rocks.
"What do we do?" asked Luan.
"Should we battle it?" asked Lana.
"How strong is it?" asked Lynn.
"We have an Alpha on our side." said Lola as she looks at Lincoln's newly captured Alpha Parasect.
"That's true." said Lori.
"And he also has Luxio; electric type moves should be very effective against it since it's part water type." said Lisa.
"Let's get it from behind to catch it off guard." said Lincoln.
"We'll need to get its attention away from us." said Rei.
"On it." said Lana as she takes out an Oran Berry and throws it behind the Bibarel, making it look the other way.
"Now!" said Lynn.
"Let's do it, Luxio!" said Lincoln, making his Luxio run towards the Alpha Pokemon. "Use Thunder Fang!" Luxio leaps at the Bibarel with electricity-coated fangs and bites down on its tail, doing super effective damage; the Alpha Pokemon suddenly twitches as static electricity covers its body.
"It's paralyzed!" said Professor Laventon. The Alpha Bibarel looks towards the group and releases a pulsing mass of water from its mouth, hitting Luxio.
"Luxio, use Quick Attack Strong Style!" said Lincoln. A surge of red energy rises up from Luxio before he moves at the Alpha Bibarel with incredible speed and slams into it.
"Nice one, Luxio!" said Lana. The Alpha Bibarel tries to strike while Luxio was getting his stamina back after using Strong Style, but paralysis stops it.
"Luxio, Thunder Fang one more time!" said Lincoln. Luxio, once again, gives the Alpha Bibarel another electricity-coated bite, doing enough super effective damage to make it pass out.
"Impressive work, Lincoln." said Professor Laventon.
"It sure was." said Rei. Akari stares at Lincoln with admiration.
"Luxio made that Alpha seem like a Beta." said Lynn.
After that, the group continues until they enter the Heartwood; as they follow the river, Leni sees a brown, rabbitlike Pokemon with yellow tufts of fur on the tips of its ears, and a coat of yellow fur on its lower body.
"That Pokemon is so adorable!" said Leni, getting everyone to look at the new Pokemon.
"That's a Buneary." said Professor Laventon.
"I wanna capture it for my team!" said Leni as she tosses her Espeon's pokeball, releasing her from it.
"Do it, Leni." said Lori. The Buneary's eyes suddenly sparkle, making Espeon uneasy and weakening her attack power.
"Espeon, use Swift!" said Leni. Espeon releases a barrage of stars that hit the Buneary; it responds by moving quickly and ramming into her.
"That was Quick Attack!" said Lynn.
"Espeon, use Confusion!" said Leni. Espeon's eyes glow blue, making a similar-colored aura appear around the Buneary that lifts it up and slams it to the ground. Seeing that it looked weakened enough, Leni pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Buneary, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles before a firework shoots out of it.
"Nice one, Leni." said Luan.
"I should've tried capturing one." said Lola.
"There might be more in this forest." said Luna.
"Is Buneary a boy or girl?" asked Leni.
"I believe that it's female." said Professor Laventon. "And a Buneary at her level should know Quick Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, and Draining Kiss."
"Okay." said Leni.
"Let us continue on, then." said Professor Laventon. The group make their way to what looked like the biggest tree in the entire forest until they find what looked like steps going up a hill leading to it. As they near the top, they see a path going between a pair of red banners depicting a creature that looked like it had axe blades for hands.
They keep going until they see a young boy with curly light brown hair, wearing a cream-colored cowboy hat, a light purple tunic with purple trim and Pearl Clan symbol on it, dark brown leggings, and light purple boots with red trim that were dirty. The boy stands firm when he sees the group approaching.
"I'm Lian of the Pearl Clan, the Warden to Kleavor, Lord of the Woods." said the boy, now identified as Lian.
"Hello, Lian; we're with the Galaxy Team." said Lincoln.
"Yes; I've already deduced that you all came here to meet Kleavor; I'm right, aren't I?" asked Lian.
"Yes; you are correct." said Lisa.
"Of course I am; I can see it so clearly." said Lian. "After all, the powerfully awesome Kleavor has become even more awesomely powerful; perhaps that strange lightning the other day was almighty Sinnoh's divine power."
"Perhaps." said Lisa.
"Whatever that lightning was, it struck my lord and left him imbued with awesome might." said Lian. "I must turn you away, even if it pains me. It's too dangerous to meet Lord Kleavor right now."
"We'll do anything to see Kleavor." said Lincoln.
"Oh! Such earnest desire to meet the mighty Kleavor." said Lian. "I have to admit I'm struck by your passion; well, I'm afraid your passion is not the real deal here. I've been told in no uncertain terms by Irida that I am to let no one near Kleavor." Lincoln blushes at the mention if Irida's name.
"We really want to see Kleavor!" said Lori.
"I will fight you off myself if you insist." said Lian.
"Are you challenging me to a battle?" asked Lincoln.
"If you insist on battling, then you will face the wrath of my Goomy." said Lian.
"My little brother defeated an Alpha Pokemon not too long ago." said Lori.
"Yeah, we're sure he can take on your Goomy." said Lynn.
"Okay, I'll take you on." said Lincoln. Lian looks at the Pokemon behind Lincoln.
"Are those your Pokemon?" asked Lian.
"Yes, they are." replied Lincoln.
"You must be the Galaxy Team member Irida mentioned; the one who never keeps his Pokemon in their pokeballs, even treats them like family." said Lian.
"That's right." said Lincoln.
"You have my respect for treating your Pokemon in such a way." said Lian. He turned towards a light purple, sluglike Pokemon. "Are you ready for a battle, Goomy?" The Pokemon, now identifed as a Goomy nods.
"You want to battle, Luxio?" Lincoln asked his Pokemon, making Luxio nod in response. Soon, Lincoln and Luxio were standing several feet from Lian and Goomy. Lola notices Lana staring at Lian with a blush on her face.
"What's with you?" asked Lola in a whispered tone.
"I don't know; something about Lian covered in dirt that makes him look cute." replied Lana in a whispered tone.
"Luxio, use Quick Attack!" said Lincoln. Luxio charges at Goomy with incredible speed and rams into it, knocking it back.
"Goomy, use Acid Spray!" said Lian. Goomy spits a purple glob at Luxio, hitting him, and weakening his special defense.
"Use Bite!" said Lincoln. Luxio charges at Goomy and bites it, and deals damage to it.
"Use Bubble!" said Lian. Goomy releases bubbles from its mouth and they hit Luxio, dealing more damage than it originally would due to Luxio's special defense being weakned by Goomy's Acid Spray.
"You can do it, Luxio; use Quick Attack Strong Style!" said Lincoln. Luxio becomes surrounded by a red aura and he charges at Goomy and rams it, knocking him to Lian's feet with swirly eyes.
"Goomy!" said Lian.
"You did great, Luxio." said Lincoln. Lian looks at Lincoln with a stunned look.
"H-How can this be?" asked Lian. "But my point still stands; it's too dangerous to meet Kleavor now. The only welcome you'll get if you approach him is a flurry of devastating blows!"
"We're not afraid!" said Lynn.
"Is there anything else you can do to calm Lord Kleavor down?" asked Lisa.
"Normally, I'd simply try making him an offering, a nice heaped helping of his two favorite foods, served up with respect by his loyal warden, that's me, of course, is usually enough to please him and soothe the prickliest of moods." said Lian.
"Why not do that then?" asked Lincoln.
"I can't get close enough to give any offerings, not with the way Kleavor is rampaging and running amok; there's nothing an outsider like you can do."
"The ancestors of Kleavor, Wyrdeer, and their cohort drew on almighty Sinnoh's own power to protect people and Pokemon alike; or so it's said." said a familar voice from behind the group, making them look to see Irida. "It's by their grace that our clan, that any of us, still lives in vast Hisui today!"
"Irida? What are you doing here?" asked Lian.
"Greetings, Irida." said Lincoln.
"Greetings, Lincoln." Irida replies while looking away with a blush, making Lincoln blush while his sisters giggle. "Anyway, as you say, Kleavor's grown even stronger, but I'm afraid that strength poses a problem for us. If he was indeed struck by that lightning... could the bolts have been sent by the false Sinnoh that the Diamond Clan bows to?"
"Adaman's clan?" asked Leni.
"Kleavor means so much to our clan; I'd hoped we could bring this situation under control ourselves, not throw our hands up and ask some outsider for help." said Irida. "But we must save Kleavor from this frenzy. Every moment it continues, the danger grows."
"And it could put everyone in the Hisui region at risk." said Professor Laventon.
"Yes; if more people and Pokemon are attacked, then it will lead to conflict with both the Diamond Clan and the Galaxy Team." said Irida.
"We have to do something!" said Luan.
"Could you Galaxy people actually fix this?! Could you actually find a way to calm our lord's frenzy?!" Lian asked the group.
"We will do everything to resolve this problem before it gets out of hand." said Lisa.
"Very well!" said Irida. "Lian and I will gather foods that please Kleavor, in hopes that we might be able to get close enough to make him a proper offering."
"We will figure out a way to quell his fury." said Professor Laventon. "We will return to Jubilife Village to do so."
"I promise when we come up with something, we will return and hopefully solve this problem." said Lincoln.
"Let us be off." said Professor Laventon. As the group start heading back to Jubilife Village; Lincoln feels something grab his hand, making him look to see Irida holding it in her hands, making him blush.
"Thank you." said Irida before she kisses him on the cheek, making his face turn red while his sisters were barely able contain their excitement, and Akari growl.
Meanwhile, in the Crimson Mirelands, the Miss Fortune Bandits were just entering them when Clover stops and looks back in the direction of the Obsidian Fieldlands with a scowl.
"What is it, sister?" asked Coin.
"I feel that something is going on with my future husband." said Clover.
"We have more important things to focus our attention on." said Coin.
"Fine." said Clover with a pout.
"Let us be off to the ruins." said Charm. As the Miss Fortune Bandits make their way to their destination, Clover's mind continues to be on a certain white-haired Galaxy Team Survey Corps member.
'Lincoln, once my sisters and I are done; I'll be seeing you soon, my love.' Clover thinks to herself.
