Chapter Two: The Quidditch world cup.

Harry, Hermione and Ron sat in the tent, Mr. Weasley came back into the tent. "IT'S NOT THE IRISH, WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!" Everyone jumped when Mr. Weasley shouted. Harry and Hermione's minds flashed back to that night where Harry had that nightmare. Hermione's eyes went wide as her pupils dilated. Harry stood up and grabbed his wand. He peered outside and saw nothing but people running.

Cedric and his father came running over. "Cedric, you and your father, lead the kids away." Said Mr. Weasley. Harry grabbed Hermione and they ran outside, hand in hand that was until Harry tripped and Hermione was carried away by Mr. Weasley. "HARRY!" She shouted. Harry got up and tried to run after them but no matter which way he tried to go he couldn't then all of a sudden everything went black.

When he awoke, he saw a strange man wondering about, he was tall with tree bark brown hair and whiter than a ghost. Just then the strange man walked forward with fatigue in his movements, pointed his wand toward the air and muttered something.

Harry saw green energy shoot out from the man's wand and he saw the sky light up with colors that formed into the dark mark. The man saw Harry, turned and ran. Just then Harry's scar burned with pain and Harry put his hand to his head and just then he heard Ron and Hermione's voices calling his name.

"Over Here!" He shouted back. He saw some rubble get moved to the side and then the next thing he knew, Hermione had almost her entire body wrapped around him. Harry could feel the tears running down her cheeks as they fell onto his shoulder. "I thought you were dead." Hermione whispered with a pained voice.

Harry put his arms around her and gently scratched the back of her head knowing she loved it when people did that, especially him. "Don't worry Hermione, I'm still here." He said as she calmed down. Ron came running over. "What In the bloody hell is that in the sky?" Ron stated.

Harry and Hermione glanced towards the sky and Harry's scar burned with pain. "What Ron said." Harry stated. "That's the dark mark, it belongs to you know who." Hermione whispered.

On the Hogwarts Express...

Harry and Hermione had sat together in the cabin, Ron had gotten up to go speak with Ginny about something and the trolley cart came by. "Hermione, do you want anything?" Harry asked. "Just a couple of chocolate frogs." Harry got up and requested a couple of Chocolate frogs for Hermione and Bertie Bott's every flavor beans for himself. Harry reached into his pocket and handed over the required money.

Out of the Corner of his eye, he saw Cho and her group of friends. He quickly took the sweets and closed the door. Harry knew Cho liked him but he did not feel the same and subsequently tried to avoid her like the plague. "Why'd you close the door so quickly?" Hermione asked as Harry handed her the chocolate frogs. "It's nothing." He said with a look on his face that clearly said he was bullshitting.

"Harry, what is it? Just tell me." Hermione pleaded.

"Okay fine.. Cho really likes me to the point where she has been borderline stalking me and I don't feel the same way and I've just been trying to avoid her." Hermione's brain instantly went into a frenzy as she realized that the feelings she herself had for Harry were much stronger than she initially thought.

Hermione spoke: "Well Harry just talk to her and tell you that you don't feel the same way." Harry nodded and stared out the window, his mind completely forgetting about Cho and instead focussing on what happened at the Quidditch world cup. He tried to decipher who the people clad in all black waving around torches were.

Once they arrived at Hogwarts and the sorting ceremony was completed, Headmaster Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledoor announced the TriWizard tournament and welcomed the Beauxbatons school as well as Durmstrang.

When Professor Mcgonagall announced the Yule Ball a few days later, Harry and Hermione were sitting across from each other when she requested that everyone find a partner to practice dancing with.

Harry and Hermione approached each other like two magnets attracted to each other. Just then Cho stepped between Harry and Hermione and asked Harry to dance with her and Harry declined much to Cho's frustration. With that headache avoided, they began dancing together and Hermione knew exactly what she was doing while Harry was trying not to trip over his or her feet.

"You're quite good at this." Harry said to Hermione who replied with: "Well my mother taught me at a young age how to dance and when I was in muggle school I used to take dance classes as a side hobby." She said as she and Harry danced.

The next day was the moment everyone had been waiting for... Who would be chosen as the Champions of the TriWizard Tournament. (Which now that I think about it, it's just the wizard version of the hunger games.)

Then Dumbledoor announced it. "HARRY POTTER!"

Harry stood up and slowly walked to the front of the great hall and took the paper from Dumbledoor. A few minutes later in a different room, Harry turned around to hear this. "HARRY DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE!" (Dumbledoor asked calmly)

"No Sir."

"Did you get an older student to do it for you?"

"No sir.

"You Sure."

"I'm Sure."

"Albus, that's enough! Let the poor boy alone." Mcgonagall said.

The next day after classes had ended Harry sat alone outside down at the dock. He heard light footsteps coming from behind him and then Hermione sat down next to him and put her arm around him.

"Hermione I—" She cut him off. "I Know you didn't, Ron seems to think otherwise." she said in a soft and melancholy tone. They held each other like this for a while and just looked out over the water. A few minutes later they heard the footsteps of about three people walking behind them. They turned around to see Draco and his two henchmen Vincent and Greggory.

"Oi PissPotter what's with the whole goblet stunt huh? Oh and I see that you got that filthy mudblood twat of a girlfriend with you as well."

Harry stepped in front of Hermione and Shielded her. "Back the Hell off Malfoy."

"Or What."

"What the Hell do you even want anyway?"

Just then Harry saw Mad-Eye Moody walking down the dock towards them. Harry saw Draco pull his wand out and just as quickly Harry drew his and Cast Expelliarmus disarming Draco. His two henchmen were about to cast something when Mad-Eye Moody cast Wingardium Leviosa lifting Draco and his cronies into the air before dumping them in the lake.

The three got and and just before they ran off, Draco yelled "MY FATHER WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS!" Once they were out of earshot, Harry and Hermione almost died laughing.

The day after that, Harry and Hermione went back to the dock and were talking with each other for a little while until somehow the subject of the Yule Ball came up. "Hermione, I was wondering." He paused for a second and took a deep breath. "Would you want to maybe go to the yule ball with me as a... Date?" His heart was now beating a mile a minute and both his and Hermione's cheeks were bright red. "Harry I would love to." She said and then the two embraced each other.
