Well, I hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July. I love that holiday. Barbeques, spending time with the family, swimming and getting to make my trifle. I even used my uncle's archery set and did pretty good for myself, not as good as Rambo, but pretty good. Don't worry, they weren't live arrows.
I also got my lucky bullet back around my neck. It's something my mom got me when she went to Chicago years ago and I find that wearing it not only brings me luck, but it reminds me about how much my family loves me.
That said, it's time for a special match in my sports festival arc. That's right, it's time for Bakugo vs Midoriya! I think I might have another chapter after this one then I'm finished with the Sports Festival Arc.
Looks like a lot of you want the first world to be Naruto that the rangers travel to. If that's what my readers want, then I have a special plan for all of us ninja lovers, Power Ranger and Naruto alike.
Let's get to the reviews.
First off, we have the reviews by my faithful reader and supporter, DCD Gojira: That's a shame, about the guy who voiced Shurikanger. The idea for the new White Dino Ranger sounds like an exciting idea. Shoto as the Red Mystic Force Ranger? I'm not sure, but as for Monoma doing the whole running man dance, I'll think about it.
Ed, the guest: Oh, you have no idea how much I want someone to make Gina suffer for all the things she's done, not just to my friend, but all the other people she's hurt and done unspeakable things to, even her own grandchildren. She's posted her address on her profile's, and I've checked it out, it seems to be legit, but so far no one has reported her to the police, or any news updates about an arrest of this woman. I bet she'll crack under police interrogation, and they will find a whole lot of dirty shit in her house when they search her home, provided they get a warrant.
KaijuEmperor: The rangers fighting alongside the bots? I like the idea, but I've already mentioned Transformers as a reference to pop culture, so that might not be possible. Trust me, Bakugo is so going to get his ass kicked this chapter.
Aztec 13: Thanks, I figured I'd give Shoto someone to talk to, and Loki seemed like the ideal choice. I'm not sure where you got the idea about Trakenna getting her hands on the quirk cancelling bullets, I haven't even mentioned them or the group who invents them, using a certain character's blood. But, I am considering in that arc, having my future Rescue Warrior combine with a certain red lion like the character the Rescue Warrior is based off of. I still haven't forgotten about the Overdrive Zords, I will be bringing them back into the story once I finish the Sports Festival. Speaking of Zords, I'll be sending you a PM about the possible vehicle choices for a certain set of zords that will give the rangers some aerial power. I hope you had a great 4th of July as well.
Monster King: Thank you.
Ultimate Savior Infinity: Yes, I am talking about the Gokiagers. What can I say? I like those guys, no offense to those who liked Super Megaforce, but that should have been its own season instead of a continuation of Megaforce. I mean, if Suzie Yueng played one of the rangers, that would have been cool. But yes, there will be a few Kamen Riders, along with the Gokiagers appearing in this story.
Luffy L Deathwalker: Thanks.
The guest: I think Izuku would make a better ranger then rider. No offense. I won't spoil which one he'll be, oh and I've never really watched Kamen Rider, but I know a bit about the series.
Clynch3: I'm still trying to figure out when I'll bring in Billy and what color ranger Izuku could be.
Alright, let's get onto the chapter.
Disclaimers are the same as always, please enjoy.
Chapter 27: Izuku vs Bakugo
Skull Cavern
"Well after an incredible first round, we have our eight finalists! Let's give the lucky eight a big round of applause for making it this far! But don't get overconfident, the second round is going to be anything but easy. The finals are right around the corner and that's the match that will decide it all!" Present Mic announced as his voice echoed around the Skull Cavern.
"Would ya look at that. Looks like the Red Rangers buddy is still in the running, and it looks like he's going to be fighting explosion boy." Ivan hummed. "Now that's going to be an exciting match, I'd wish the rest of matches would just be cancelled and we get right to good part."
"Hey, as long as I can keep eating and enjoy the show, that's fine with me." Elgar said, gulping down the last of his soda. "And speaking of that, I got to go find the monster's room. I gotta make a letter of the alphabet." The mutant got up from his seat and left the throne room, while the others continued to watch the first match of the 2nd round, Tenya vs Ibara.
"Vine Girl vs Speedster? Bet I know who's going to win." Rito proclaimed smugly.
"Tenya Iida will have more to worry about than just his match." Jinxer reported. "I've just heard from a little bat, that his older brother is tracking down a very dangerous individual. One who's killed seventeen Pro Heroes and crippled another twenty-three. The Hero Killer: Stain."
"Stain? As in the one who believes that those who become heroes for money and fame are false heroes?" Flurious inquired. "Interesting. Perhaps he might become a useful ally to us."
"Yeah, so we can kill heroes and take their quirks for our monsters." Darkonda sniggered. "I'm liking this guy all… Hey wait! The rangers aren't trying to become heroes, so they become famous or make money. That means he'll see them as true heroes! That means he'll fight us!"
"Maybe we should just destroy him and take his quirk!" Moltor suggested.
"Bah, what does it matter? Even if he does become our enemy, it won't matter. Considering that we're planning on bringing back the…" Goldar began before a Batling approached Jinxer and whispered something into the monster maker's ear. "Now what?"
"It seems that there's a juicy rumor flying around. It seems that one of our new 'asset's' out in space has reported that a few prisoners have escaped from the custody of some group called 'Space Patrol Delta'. Sounds like we might be receiving more rotten rangers." Jinxer answered.
"More rangers? Where?" Elgar asked when he returned from the bathroom, only to be shoved aside by Ecliptor. "What did I say?"
"Allow me to investigate this rumor, Olympius." Ecliptor requested. "I'm sure I can convince them to join our cause, or at the very least, determine who is supplying this Humarise the Krybots that were used at Angel Lake."
"Very well, take a small squad of Velocifighters and investigate it at once." Olympius instructed. As Ecliptor left, the match between Iida and Ibara ended with Iida winning by pushing Ibara out of the ring with barely any effort. "A short victory, but one that the boy deserved."
"I would hardly call that a victory." Treacheron muttered, then felt a chill down his spine. "It seems that there is something that requires my attention. I shall return as soon as possible." The warrior told his allies, then departed the throne room.
UA Stadium
To Izuku's relief, his match between Bakugo was the final match of the second round, but the quirk inheritor was still nervous. He was going up against the strongest member of their class and the same person who made his life a living hell for years. 'Kachan is going to be gunning for me, just like he's been doing the entire festival. I've got to come up with a strategy to beat him. I have to, for Uraraka and myself.' He thought to himself.
"I'd go with plan eighty-two." Connor said to his friend, causing the quirk inheritor to jump in surprise. "He's seen all your notes about his quirk before, but not the notes you took recently."
"Gah! Why do you always scare me like that?" Izuku exclaimed.
"It's not like I'm doing it for a laugh." Connor said in his defense. "But seriously, considering all the times he's tossed your note book out the window or otherwise wrecked it, I bet he's probably memorized a few of those tips you came up with."
"You're probably right." Izuku admitted, as the match between Mina and Tokoyami began. "Even if he is a jerk, Kachan is still impressive."
"Yet, he did push you into that pile of manure when you were in elementary school on that field trip." Connor recollected, remembering some of the things Izuku told him about Bakugo and his treatment. "I'm surprised no one's stopped him, yet I do remember his mother yelling at him when he gave me an explosive punch that one time, he missed a day of school and I had to bring him his homework. Man, the guy really has an ego."
"If you're gonna talk about someone, then you better say it to their face." Bakugo said the moment he stepped through the doorway of the waiting room, earning a glare from the red ranger. "Get out of here, you quirkless loser."
"I'm actually talking with Izuku here, so perhaps you should go somewhere else." Connor countered, earning him a right hook to the face from Bakugo. "What the hell!?"
"You don't get to talk back to me like that, considering you don't have a quirk." Bakugo snarled. "I don't know what kind of strings you and Deku pulled to get into UA, but once I figure it out, I'll be sending you five spandex wearing losers out of here with your tails between your legs."
"Leave my friend alone!" Izuku shouted, glaring with hate filled eyes at Bakugo. "Connor and the others, they earned the right to be here at UA, just like the rest of us! You think you're so special, that you have to push other people around just because they don't have a quirk! I've dealt with your bullying for most of my life, and you know what, you got away with it because all of our teachers just ignored it because of your quirk."
"You just shut the hell up, Deku! None of those matters! I'll be sure to remind you of your place during our match. You might have a quirk, but you're still a pathetic little bug I can squash whenever I want." Bakugo snarled. "You won't have the rangers to protect you in the ring."
Connor, who's face was bruised from Bakugo's hook, glared at the explosive user. "You know, I probably wouldn't have a problem if Olympius took your quirk for one of his monsters, but then I'd be a pretty crappy ranger if I didn't protect someone, even a jerk like you." He began. "You might think that you'll be the next number one hero, but you're already looking at the next number one hero, and his name is Izuku Midoriya. So, I'll give you fair warning, leave him alone, or else you'll have to answer to me."
Bakugo just scoffed and left the room. "Whatever. Next hero training, I'll be showing you and your friends what I can do, you damn loser." He said to Connor.
Connor just glared at Bakugo, then turned back to Izuku. "Wow, who knew you had it in you. You stood up to Bakugo and didn't even bat an eye. You were awesome." He praised. "Make sure you give him one for me in the ring."
"I will." Izuku promised.

'Seems that the students of 1-A and 1-B are showing a lot of potential this year, compared to previous years.' Ryukyu thought to herself, her eyes fixated on the screen of the tv in her hero agency. 'Of course, there are several students who have a lot to work on in terms of personality. That Monoma child and that Bakugo, they are prime examples. Their personalities are unbefitting of a hero, though Bakugo has an incredible quirk, I doubt I could teach a child like him the virtues of being a hero.'
Her gaze then turned to the rangers and Nejire, who were sitting in the stands. 'Even if they aren't competing, the rangers have showed they have the true qualities of a hero. They care not about fame, popularity or money. They care for the lives of the people they are protecting, unlike heroes like Endeavor and others. Still, that doesn't mean they are invincible, considering that their power draws from the morphing grid and not a quirk. If I were to extend an offer for them to intern with me when UA's internships start, they'd probably consider it an honor. But whether they would take the offer or not is up for debate.' She thought, catching a glance of Connor's face turning red as he looked at Nejire.
The phone in her office rang and got up to answer it. "Ryukyu hero agency, Ryukyu speaking." She said into the phone.
"Yes, Lady Ryukyu, I'm the butler of the head of Hartford Industries and I am speaking on behalf of Mr. Hartford." A British sounding voice said over the phone. "My Master is planning a charity event in the coming months, and he would like to hire you and your interns as security for the event. Perhaps even the Lightspeed Rangers, considering he's heard that all of you were at Angel Lake during that horrible incident that could have been more disastrous if it weren't for heroes like you and the rangers."
"I take it this will be a formal event?" Ryukyu inquired.
"That it will be, madame. I strongly suggest that you send this number to the rangers, should they need a fitting. Also, I would like you to pass on this message to the rangers, Mr. Hartford is grateful that the Lightspeed Rangers used the Drivemax Megazord against that creature that attacked UA and looks forward to seeing them use the other zords of the Overdrive rangers." The butler expressed.
"I'll pass along the message, and you can tell Mr. Hartford that I would be honored to provide security for the event." Ryukyu answered, a small smile appearing on her face as she hung up the phone. "Now, let's see what I missed of the sports festival."

Kiryu Japan, Kanto Region
Standing atop of large building, her rabbit ears perched as she picked up a noise. Pumping her legs, the rabbit hero Miriko leapt from the roof of the building and flew through the air, landing atop the roof of the vehicle the villains she was tracking had stolen after fleeing the bank they had robbed and shot up. The impact of her landing forced the roof of the vehicle cave in from the impact built up from her fall, but the villains were able to see her coming and exited the vehicle before they got crushed. "You villains might as well give up! I don't stop until I catch my prey!" she taunted.
One of the villains brandished an RPK-16 machine gun they pulled out from the car before it was crushed, aimed it and pulled the trigger. Their quirk amplified the power of the bullets loaded in the drum magazine, causing small explosions that rocked parked cars, shattered windows or otherwise kicked up asphalt as they tried to gun down the rabbit hero.
"Really, do you even know how fast I am!" she taunted, almost feeling insulted by the villains attempt to kill her. With a burst of speed, she got in close to the villain who expended an entire magazine, then delivered a powerful kick to the villain's side, slamming them into a streetlight. "You're lucky I didn't go full force, otherwise you'd be dead!" she gloated, then turned back to the other villains who were so scared at her strength. "Don't get me wrong, this is a good workout and I've barely broken a sweat, but I'm trying to watch the Sports Festival and if I miss the semi-finals, I'll be pissed. So, I'll only ask this once, surrender and I won't beat yeah up, too much."
Fear coursed through their bodies, but the villains charged towards Miriko, determined to kill her and get away with their loot. Just before the villains reached Miriko, something landed directly in front of her, kicking up a cloud of dust that obscured Miriko's field of vision, but Miriko heard the sounds of a sword clashing against whatever weapons the villains had before she heard a distinct thud. "Ok, what the hell is going on?" Miriko asked, as the dust cloud started to dissipate and Miriko could make out a bulky figure with a sword on it's back, which they then sheathed as the figure turned around to face Miriko. "You want some too, villain?"
"Me a villain? Never in a million years." The figure answered with a laugh. "I fight for good and have a few surprises of my own. Those monsters won't stand a chance."
"So does that mean you're a ranger?" Miriko asked.
"Sorry, I can't say anymore. I've got to go! Until we meet again, miss!" the figure said, leaping into the air just as the dust settled, revealing that the villains were on the ground and knocked out. As the police arrived, neither they nor Miriko noticed the armored figure was flying away on a cloud. "Now, let's see what these new rangers are up to."
UA Stadium
As expected, Shoto scored an overwhelming victory against Kirishima, much to the dismay of Tetsutetsu, while Tokoyami eliminated Mina in a swift victory. Now it was time for the final match of the quarter finals. "ALRIGHT SPORTS FANS! It's time for the final match! From Class 1-A, is a student with a quirk so powerful, it breaks his bones every time he uses it, but what he lacks in control, he makes up for it with an awesome friend in the Red Ranger! It's… IZUKU MIDORIYA! Verses… also from Class 1-A, the boy with an explosive personality that's just as powerful as his quirk, the hotshot from middle school, the boy who said he was going to win the whole festival, KATSUKI BAKUGO!" Mic shouted at the top of his lungs, just as the armored figure landed on the roof of the stadium.
"Ah, I haven't missed it yet. Now then, let's see what fate has planned for the young boy." The figure said, sitting on the roof with his legs crossed and looked down at the field.
At the same time, Connor had returned to the stands with a small soda, pretzel, banana and water bottle, and took a seat as the both Izuku and Bakugo walked onto the field. 'You can do it, Izuku, you can beat this jerk and show him what I know. You are a hero.' The red ranger thought to himself.
On the field, Bakugo grinned as he walked onto the field. Finally, he was going to put that nerd in his place and this time, he would win unlike their first combat training exercise. "This isn't going to be like training, Deku. I'm going to win and send you home in a body bag. Finally, I'll show you what the future Number One hero looks like." He gloated.
Izuku said nothing as he walked onto the field, ignoring Bakugo's words, a piece of advice he learned from his best friend. "Not going to talk? Looks like you're learning your place you nerd." Bakugo continued to gloat.
"Alright boys! I want a nice clean fight! Anything below the waist is forbidden and if you even try it, you'll be disqualified." Midnight announced.
In the stands of Class A, some of their classmates were getting worried. They all remembered how Bakugo went all out on Izuku during their first combat class a month ago, which told them that Bakugo was extremely hostile to Izuku and wouldn't hold anything back against his classmate. "Something tells me Bakugo is going to go all out on Izuku, just like he did with Ochako." Jiro observed, glancing at the picture of Bakugo on the screen.
"Yeah, but we got the teachers down there and they won't let him kill Midoriya." Kaminari said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"I wouldn't be so sure." Toru said with worry.
"Both students have taken to the field. SO, LET'S GET THIS MATCH STARTED! BEGIN!" Mic shouted into the speakers, the bell sounding loudly to signal the match's start.
"DIE!" Bakugo shouted, propelling himself forward with a blast from his palms, straight towards Izuku, then slammed his fist into Izuku's stomach, knocking the wind out of Izuku for a few moments then followed up with a side kick to Izuku's ribs, sending the quirk inheritor skidding to the edge of the arena.
Izuku quickly recovered, stopping himself just inches from the edge, then raised his hand and flicked his fingers, sending a powerful shockwave towards Bakugo, landing a blow on Bakugo. Thankfully, he used five percent of One For All, so it didn't break his fingers. This allowed Izuku to sprint towards Bakugo, who quickly recovered from the impact of the blow, but not fast enough as Izuku swept Bakugo off his feet with a sweep kick.
"You think after one victory, you can beat me?! You'll always be the same damn nerd I knew from middle school. One I can easily push around and squash whenever I want, YOU WON'T BEAT ME DEKU! YOU'RE JUST A PATHETIC LOSER! JUST LIKE YOUR STUPID RANGER FRIEND!" Bakugo ranted.
His rant ended when Izuku delivered a power uppercut to Bakugo's chin, his eyes flowing with anger. Following the uppercut, Izuku landed dozens of punches on Bakugo's chest like a machine gun, but they didn't force Bakugo back even an inch. The punches came to an end, but what followed was a swift drop kick to Bakugo's head, but Bakugo countered with an explosive punch, knocking Izuku back, but again, Izuku skidded across the ground.
"You think you're so clever, aren't you Deku?" Bakugo said with a growl and an eerily smile. "You want to settle this hand to hand, then I'll give you what you want." To the surprise of him, and the audience, Izuku stood his ground and didn't make a move. Bakugo didn't give it a second thought as he charged towards Izuku, ready to throw a right hook. "GO TO HELL!" he shouted.
To his surprise, Izuku raised his arms and blocked the hook, then slammed his elbow into Bakugo's face, hard. A small bit of blood trickled from Bakugo's nose, and that set Bakugo off. No one had ever made him bleed before, not even in training! But now, the nerd he picked on for years had actually managed to get a hit on him and drew blood. "YOU'RE IN FOR IT NOW! DEKU! DIE!" he shouted, then leapt into the air, using his explosions to propel himself in a circular motion creating a tornado, building up the oxygen to fuel his attack, then dived down towards Izuku and released the condensed power, which kicked up a cloud of dust and sand, obscuring the view of the students from everyone in the stands, the other rangers watching the match and the monsters.
As the dust settled, much to Bakugo's surprise, Izuku wasn't knocked out of the arena and actually dodged his attack. "No way! How could you still breath!? I used up all the oxygen for that blast!" Bakugo demanded, then realized that Izuku had held his breath, the moment he felt the lack of oxygen. "You held your damn breath!" Bakugo's surprise was short lived as Izuku raised his arm, and flicked his fingers, sending another Delaware Smash towards Bakugo, this time knocking Bakugo back to the edge of the ring. Though he had broken one of his fingers, Izuku charged towards Bakugo, this time leaping through the air, grabbed Bakugo by the legs, then spun him around like a top before throwing him out of the ring and into the wall of the arena, leaving a Bakugo sized imprint in the concrete. "Bakugo is out of bounds! Midoriya wins and moves onto the finals!" Midnight announced, raising her flog.
"GOD DAMNIT!" Bakugo shouted in anger, slamming his fist on the ground in frustration. "How is this happening?! I'm supposed to be the best! The one who will surpass All Might! So how can I still lose to your worthless ass, Deku?!" he demanded.
"You're so sure of your place atop the world, but you refuse to acknowledge those below you. You chose to remain alone, thinking everyone is just pebbles for you to step on your path to become a hero." Midoriya said to his former friend, with an intent glare, as Bakugo looked at Midoriya with a hateful scowl. "And so, you shunned every single person around you who could have made you stronger. You pushed away the hands that could have raised you to greater heights, but you just used your power as an excuse to push other people around, people who you bullied for years, telling them that they were worthless and losers, just to prove to yourself that you're the best around, no matter what." He said with utter disgust.
"Should we be listening to this?" Mic asked Aizawa.
"Listen." He told his fellow commentator.
"Shut the hell up with this useless garbage your spotting Deku!" Bakugo growled. "I don't need you or anyone else's help to reach the top! I'm supposed to be the only thing in this damn school that matters. The next number one hero! I don't my thunder stolen from some damn extras who are too spineless and rely on others to get the job done! They're so weak that they can't even protect themselves! I'm the character of this world you useless nerd! This is my story! My struggles, my growth! And everyone else is just worthless side characters to my perfect story! Especially your damn friends!" he stressed with such anger.
"Who cares about your thunder and your perfect hero story?!" the green-haired teen shouted, causing the blond to grit his teeth in anger. "It's that attitude of yours that makes us so different from each other! I didn't get here on my own! I had help from those who supported me! The people you call worthless! The people who helped me realize that I can be a hero! Those who I call my friends! I carry with me the hopes and dreams of my friends, my family, and everyone else who believes in me! And it is they who gave me the strength to defeat you!" he shouted with resolve.
Bakugo scoffed as he got back to his feet and headed to the exit. As for Izuku, the adrenaline running through his body finally gave out as Izuku felt himself nearly topple over, but to his surprise and delight, his best friend caught him and helped him to the infirmary. "You did good, pal. You did good."
Alright, that will do it for this chapter. I apologize if it was short, not a lot of ranger action, so you can chalk it up to that. But, it appears that several new characters have arrived.
The mysterious armored figure? Mr. Hartford? His Butler? Who could they be and what role do they have in this story? Well, I've got plenty of surprises in store for the future.
Anyway, next chapter is Todoroki vs Midoriya. So, you can probably expect it to be the same as canon, but with Bakugo out of the tournament, he won't be taking home any medals.
Good news, RWBY has been acquired by Vizmedia, so we'll be getting Volume 10. When, I don't know, but I think I'll be returning to Remnant Unleashed after I finish the Sports Festival.
Well, I hope you all liked this chapter, so please read and review until next time.
