Kyoko placed the black t-shirt into her basket and looked up to find Atori, realizing the small woman had already taken off to a different part of the store. Kyoko sighed, she only wanted to come to the hero merch store to grab a new Gang Orca shirt and leave before buying more than she needed.
She strolled down the aisle, making her way slowly towards the book aisle she knew Atori would be in. Present Mic had a biography book out and Atori was definitely going to spend a few minutes reading it before buying it.
The figurines on the wall caught Kyoko's eye and she stopped in front of the shelves, looking to see who they had in stock. Even with All Might's retirement years ago, the shelf was full of his old figures. Sectioned off by the older and newer heroes, the pink haired woman found herself staring at a tiny version of Bakugo. The ugly expression was spot on to the face she had seen in person.
Luckily, she hadn't seen the man since their mission to the mountain, which was weeks ago, but the more days that passed the harder she found it to reach out to him to thank him for saving her. Every time she went to message him or stop by his agency, the tent- cuddling situation resurface and she'd feel the embarrassment again.
As she turned to head towards the book section, she bumped into someone's back.
"Oh, sorry—"
She was cut off by a rough voice as they turned to face her, "What where yer going!"
Kyoko groaned as she locked eyes with familiar red ones. Bakugo's eye twitched as he looked down at her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, glancing to the shelf she was standing in front of a few seconds ago.
Lifting her basket up a bit she mumbled, "Shopping… obviously."
He looked down at the shirt she was going to purchase, seeing the graphic image of Gang Orca.
"Gang Orca? Really? Why do you like him?" He questioned.
Kyoko chewed the inside of her cheek. She knew her face was already red. She wasn't enamored by Gang Orca by any means. She knew once she said her reason he was going to laugh at her.
"I, uh… my favorite animals are orcas… they're majestic and…" She began to get flustered.
"You gotta be kidding me, because he is your favorite animal, you like him?"
Kyoko felt someone slap her back and let out a laugh. Internally Kyoko groaned, knowing Atori had made her way back.
"Oh man, the first time she met him in school she cried! It was hilarious! She actually called him majestic through sobs!"
"Atori, shut up!" heat rippled through Kyoko's body as she watched Bakugo smirk down at her.
"Guess you never outgrew being a nerd."
Kyoko glared at him, taking a look into his basket, noticing All Might merch she pointed at him, "Takes one to know one!"
His smirk faded into a scowl, "Tch, whatever."
He started to walk away when Atori stomped on Kyoko's foot, looking between her and the hot head that was leaving. Kyoko gritted her teeth.
"Ah, Bakugo….wait…" She called out.
He stopped and looked over his shoulder. Kyoko looked back at Atori, giving her a face that Atori could only read as 'do I have to?' and she nodded to Kyoko and gestured her to talk to Bakugo.
"Spit it out, I don't have all day." His gruff voice bellowed out.
"Thanks… for saving me from the villain… and waiting at the hospital until Atori showed up…"
"Yeah, well, it's my job. Get stronger so you don't have to give out weak 'thank yous' later." He faced forward and walked away from the two women.
She turned to Atori seething, "He did not deserve a thank you!"
"He deserved it. Damn Kyo, you really did struggle with saying thank you to him. I'm glad I was here to watch that go up in flames."
"You're not helping me… Please, let's just buy this and leave." She begged, wanting to get home and enjoy her day off.
"Go on ahead, I'll be right there!" Atori waved her off.
…
Kyoko was finally on the couch in her brand-new shirt, wrapped up in a blanket as she watched the screen. Atori gleefully entered the living room with an Eraserhead shirt on, holding a small brown bag. Kyoko took her eyes off her show, looking at the bagged item.
"I saw you looking at this before you bumped into Mr. Hot Head and bought it for you."
Kyoko looked at her confused, trying to think back to what she was doing before she bumped into Bakugo. She took the small bag from Atori, opening it up and pulling out the item inside. She frowned as she looked at the Dynamight figure.
"You're not funny, Ato." Her voice fell flat.
"If you didn't admire him in some way, you wouldn't have been worried about what he thought about you." She took a seat next to her, "You've been watching this show without me?! Start it over!"
…
"This will be a simple collaboration job, Kyoko. We will start a little smaller this time. Just head on over to Todoroki's agency and Shoto will brief you." Centipeder's voice stated through the phone.
"Yes, sir." Kyoko mumbled before hanging up the phone.
She looked up at the clear blue sky. Since the last mission, she was put through extra training with Mirio; the goal was to learn how to better work with other heroes. For weeks, Kyoko had to take over all the missions while he sat back and assessed her, making sure she was feeling confident in giving directions to others. He questioned why she constantly froze when she got paired up with higher ranking or intimidating heroes, but the only response he got was along the lines of a top Pro Hero ripping into her during her first year as a pro hero.
Kyoko watched civilians pass her smiling at her as she walked down the street to her destination.
Todoroki's agency was originally under Endevor's name until his youngest son took over a year prior; now with Endevor giving up his number one spot, it was a free for all to become the number one hero.
The building was large, a sign the read 'Shoto' was on the building, underneath a faded outline of the old 'Endevor' sign. Kyoko pulled on the door and walked in. The inside was more of a traditional Japanese style compared to the other agencies she had been to. A reception desk sat near an elevator. A woman behind the desk noticed Kyoko.
"Miss Hitomi, Todoroki has been awaiting your arrival. Let me page him." She picked up the phone and dialed out, speaking into it for a few seconds before hanging up.
"Please, take a seat. Todoroki will be down in a few moments." She bowed slightly before pointing out to the small waiting room to Kyoko's right.
She sat down, looking around at the openness of the lobby area. This was one of the fanciest agencies she had been to. After his estranged father's retirement, news papers flooded with information of Todoroki stating that he would bring honor back to his family name. He was already taking strides in his statement by setting foot into the top 20 on the billboard chart while his classmates staggered behind.
The elevator dings and the doors swooshed open, the dual hair colored man stepped out. Kyoko's mouth slightly parted open as she looked the man up and down. He walked towards her in a wine-red turtleneck with a black suit jacket over it. As he approached her, his hand slid out of his ivory dress pants and stretched out towards her.
"Stardusk, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." His voice was smooth as he shook her hand.
"Like…likewise." Kyoko stuttered a bit.
He slightly nodded her way before inviting her to get in the elevator. She fiddled wit the sleeves of her hero outfit as she entered the lift with the half-cold half-hot hero. He pressed the number 4 and the doors closed.
She took a deep inhale, slowly breathing out to calm her nerves; trying to remind herself it would be just like working with Mirio.
"Sorry if I am imposing, but Centipeder told me that you needed some extra training with other pro heroes since you typically only take on solo jobs." He spoke curtly, "I've had my issues with that myself and it made me feel like I was turning into my father, but I've learned that asking for help isn't bad after all. I've met a lot of nice people in doing so."
A soft smile curled on Kyoko's face, "My issue has been that I freeze or back off in the last second when I work with others."
He looked over to Kyoko as the doors swooshed open, "Why is that?"
She followed him out and down the hall, "Just scared that if I get in the way of the wrong person again, the first person who reemed me out will make good on his promise."
"Who would threaten a fellow pro hero?" He opened the door to the briefing room, letting Kyoko walk through first.
As she walked by Todoroki in a hushed voice she spoke, "Endevor."
…
Atori looked over herself once more, happy that it was finally getting colder out and she could wear her long sleeved white turtleneck dress. She headed towards the apartment door, pulling her black thigh high boots over her opaque tights. She looked at her phone as she hurried out of the apartment, realizing she was running late when a text notification popped up on her screen.
Shinso: I'm just leaving now. My cat fell asleep on my lap, and I felt bad about waking him up. Hopefully you haven't been waiting long.
Atori smiled down at her phone, debating on whether or not to play along and make him feel bad, even thought she was running late as well. Before she could respond, she looked up and saw the familiar muscular man across the road. His face held no emotion as he lifted his hand up to wave at her. The signal for the crosswalk turned green and Atori hurried to the other side to meet up with the quiet man.
"You were running late too?"
"Can't be late if neither of us are there, right? So, I'd say I'm on time!"
A chuckle rolled out of Shinso's mouth. Atori looked him up and down. He sported a black military style jacket, with a navy shirt underneath. His dark blue jeans were snug on him, a different look from his usual hero outfit. He rubbed the back of his neck as Atori smiled at him.
"Shall we?" She asked as she started towards the direction she was given from her phone, "It's a new café you wanted to check out, right?"
"Uh yeah. I should've asked beforehand, but at you allergic to cats?"
"What? No… wait are we going to a cat café?" Atori wondered out loud watching Shinso's face turn pink.
"I hope that's not too weird for you."
"No, I like animals… Actually I like them more than I like humans."
He sighed in relief, "That's good. So, how's your new project going?"
Atori was deep into trying to create booster boots to help Tenya Iida into becoming faster without over-heating the boots or the hero, "Why does he want to be faster? Didn't he hear about the American hero, Quicksliver? Things did not end well for him."
"Who?"
Atori sighed, "Never mind, bad movie reference. Kyo would have laughed, then cry."
"Is she feeling better?"
"Well…" Atori dragged out, "She's currently briefing on a mission with Shoto. She's already losing her mind."
"Really? I thought she was getting better since she was teaming with Mirio a lot."
"I don't think collaborating is going to be the issue this time. Kyoko likes pretty boys. When she crushes, she crushed hard but never takes any action.
Shinso pulled his lips in, knowing the predicament Atori's friend was in and debated on saying anything. Atori studied his face and began laughing.
"Oh, I know she has no chance with him." She shook her head and shrugged, "Well, she's just going to have to learn."
"You're not going to tell her?" Shinso waved towards a couple that were pointing at him eagerly.
"Pfht, no. She's a big girl. I'll just be there for when her heart gets broken." Atori stopped in front of the door to the café.
Shinso nodding, pulling open the door for them. As the walked in, cats and kittens were already beginning to head over to the newcomers of their domain. Meowing for pets before the owner shooed them away.
"Let them come in! Jeez… Hi, welcome! I'm so sorry the cats rushed you like that." The young man apologized, bowing towards the two. "Please, take a seat and I will be right over to get your order."
Atori tugged on Shinso's jacket sleeve, pulling him towards a table by the window. As soon as they sat down, cats began to crowd the man, jumping over each other to sit in his lap.
"Do you have cat nip on you?" Atori asked as a smaller ragdoll kitten chose to sit in her lap.
She began petting it, setting off the pur machine. Shinso had one cat strung across his shoulder, and two others in his lap. The other cats on the floor dispersed as the owner made his way over.
"I'm just a cat person and I think they know that."
"I'm starting to think brainwashing isn't the only quirk you have." Atori chortled as she patted the curled up kitten.
"I'll have a latte," He looked from the waiter to Atori, "You want to try their mint mocha, right?"
Atori eagerly nodded her head, the owner jotted it down in his notepad and turned on his heels, several of the cats followed him to the counter.
"Work has been going alright for you?" Atori turned her attention to Shinso.
He frowned slightly, "The patrols in my area are becoming more active. It's hard when the villains are beginning to know who I am, so they won't speak. I've been relying on other's help a lot lately."
The cat on his shoulders was now pawing at the two cats on his lap. Shinso booped the cats paw, which caused the cat to slowly retract its paw back and turn his head towards Shinso.
"You just need to shock them into saying something. I could make you a new top to wear out on patrols that would guarantee them to speak." She offered.
"Really? How much do you want for that?"
"How about another date?" She winked at him, watching a small smirk creep on his face as the owner strolled up to their table with their drink orders.
…
Kyoko grimaced at the file on the table in front of her. A non-disclosure contract start her in the face. Shoto was sitting right next to her, patiently waiting for her to sign it.
"The job is to…model?" She frowned.
Todoroki looked at her, no change in his facial expression or tone as he spoke, "Did Centipeder not give you any information?"
She scrunched her face as she scanned through the document, "No."
"Oh, well, The HPSC wants to have an up and coming Hero from every agency come do a photo shoot to advertise the Pro Hero convention this year. They asked me to help and reach out to a few agencies around me."
"Oh, why don't I just send Mirio instead." Kyoko offered.
"Centipeder suggested you specifically."
Kyoko whined as the hot-cold hero leaned towards her, extending a pen for her to grab.
"We will meet in a week at the studio. Just sign at the bottom."
Kyoko held the pen Todoroki gave her and stared at him. He stared back, no breaking eye contact. After a few seconds Kyoko couldn't handle him looking at her and quickly signed her name at the bottom of the contract.
Todoroki leaned back in his chair, "I look forward to working with you Stardusk. I'll exchange information with you and send you the studio address."
…
"He has a chiseled jawline, Ato! Why is Shoto so hot?" Kyoko flopped onto Atori's bed that night.
Atori rolled her eyes as she sat at her sewing station in the corner of her room, "I don't know. Definitely didn't inherit his father's look completely. Thank God, but are you really going to crush on him because he is hot?"
She rolled to her side to sneer at Atori, "No, he's nice too! Far nicer than any guy I've met lately…"
"You wouldn't want a push over like Shoto; you'd get bored, but since I know you won't listen to me anyways, I'm switching subjects. I finally got my uninterrupted date with Shinso." Atori stopped her sewing machine and swiveled her chair to look at Kyoko.
"And, how'd it go?" Kyoko sat up.
"It went great! I'm making him a top to wear out on patrols."
Kyoko raised her eyebrows, "Ah, that's what you've been working on. I thought you were still working on your project for Ingenium."
"Oh, I'm finishing that up, which, while we are on the subject of Iida… I may have volunteered you to do a spar at the Academy in three weeks." Atori spoke quickly.
Kyoko hopped off the mattress, "You did what? What the hell Atori?!"
"Present Mis was asking a while ago… I can't let me hero down, and I can't spar; I have a lot of projects I'm working on right now. I don't have time. Please Kyo, please help me out!" She batted her eyelashes.
"Fine, but you got to stop volunteering me for things. I'm getting overwhelmed. Good night." Kyoko headed for the door.
…
"Ta-dah!" Atori stood in Shinso's office a week later and held of the sleeveless black top.
Shinso leaned forward in his chair and took it from the excited woman. He looked over the material.
"How will this guarantee someone to speak to me?"
"Well, you see, you wear it and then when you are running in on a villain you put the hood up and press the button on the zipper."
Shinso nodded, "Okay, I'll try it out tonight. Thank you for taking the time to make that, I Know you have been busy this past week."
Atori waved her hand dismissively, "It's no trouble, plus is get another date out of it. I've finally caught up to my orders, so you'll have to let me know when you are free."
Atori left after making plans to go out in a few days with Shinso. She headed back to her apartment to hand Kyoko her winter outfit.
Kyoko was seated at the kitchen table, drinking her second cup of coffee and looking down at her phone. Her few days off consisted of trying to catch up on any shows while also doing chores and errands. She watched Atori cross the kitchen to get to her room and came back with a box and stood in front of Kyoko.
Atori grinned, excited to show off the work she did for Kyoko. Turning her typical leotard suit into a full body suit- galaxy themed intact. She knew Kyoko wouldn't like it right away, but would warm up to it…hopefully.
She passed it to the nervous pink haired woman. She pulled the top off and opened the box, grabbing the light material and holding it up. Her face twisted as she looked at it.
"What?" Atori asked as Kyoko looked over at her with a frown.
"I asked for something that would keep me warm."
"Yeah, and it's got thermal lining! It's soft!" She tried selling the outfit.
"Something…less revealing would be nice, Ato!" She whined.
"It covers more than your summer attire! And you said you like that outfit!"
"No, I'm constantly pulling out wedgies and pulling it down. I don't feel comfortable in it."
It was Atori's turn to frown, "I put a lot of work into making this. People love this look on you!"
"I would also like to be comfortable." Kyoko was starting to get defensive.
"This is comfortable, it's a soft stretchy material; it's proven to help your ranking go up!" She was trying to persuade Kyoko.
"Are my powers not enough to get me up in the polls? It has to be what I wear?"
"Okay, you're obviously having some kind of day… So, I'm going to be nice and—"
Kyoko cut her off, "No, I'm dissatisfied with your product and letting you know."
"Oh! You're upset with a free upgraded outfit that follows along with a current free attire?"
"Fine! I'll go find someone who will listen to what I want! I'll probably meet one tomorrow at that stupid modeling gig!" Kyoko shouted as she stood up from her chair and began stomping to her room.
Atori yelled out throwing her arms up, "Go for it! See if I care!"
…
Kyoko chewed on the inside of her cheek as she paced back and forth in her dressing room. Her argument with Atori weighed on her mind, along with the morning briefing with the photographer, that she would, in addition to taking group pictures for the poster, be paired up with a male hero and taking picture for a Pro Hero Calendar they would be selling at the convention.
Her fingers were crossed that she'd be paired up with Todoroki. Given the fact he stated that he was excited to work with her and he had a hand in the whole process of running the program.
A knock on the door stopped her pacing, "Come in."
The door swung open, revealing the half-and-half hero. His expression as stoic as ever as he stood in the doorway.
"I wanted to apologize for the other day. I must have come off very pushing, but it was with all good intentions."
Kyoko looked at him confused but hopefully, "Intentions?"
Todoroki took a step into the room. He looked behind him to see if anyone was around and shut the door softly and sighed. Kyoko tensed up, she pulled her lips in and her heart skipped a beat. Her mind began wandering as she wondered if he was going to make a move on her.
"You see…" He spoke in a hushed voice, "Centipeder confided in me that he is a little scared of you. He knows modeling would help your rank and that you'd be good at it, but the last time he tried to get you to model you grew a giant Venus Fly Trap at his desk. I told him I would do my best for you to have a good experience at these types of gigs. I'm sorry I didn't come right out and tell you."
Kyoko's stomach dropped, she sucked in her cheeks and raised her eyebrows as her face turned red. She misread his good intentions, realizing he wasn't complimenting her because he was into her, but because he was just a nice guy.
"Oh, I'm sorry…was that…an embarrassing thing to say?"
She looked at him with more realization that he was probably more socially awkward than she was, "No…no, it's fine. We should, uh, get out there for the first round of photos."
He nodded slightly and turned to open the door. Kyoko followed him out and down to the photo shoot. A few heroes were already getting into place when Kyoko caught a glimpse of a few familiar faces.
Midoriya waved over to Kyoko and Todoroki, leaving his spot to walk up to the two heroes, "Hey guys! I didn't know you two knew each other! Oh, Hitomi, I saw your friend Meku in the paper the other day. Do you think she'd be interested in making something for me?"
"Oh, uhm, well… I'm not quite sure, we're in an argument right now and—"
"You seem to pick fights where ever you go don't you, Bubblegum Head." A taunting angry voice said behind her.
Her shoulders tensed up at the sound of Bakugo's voice, "I'm totally not in the mood for you."
Bakugo scoffed, "Like I care."
The photographer noticed the four and began snapping his fingers at them to hurry over to the 'x' markings on the floor. Kyoko was placed with her back up against Bakugo's, with Todoroki staggered behind her a way and Pro Hero Froppy in a frog like pose on the ground in front of them. Many more heroes were smushed together for the large group photo as the photographer went snap happy. She could feel the heat rolling off of Bakugo's back, feeling it tense up. An annoyed low growl escaped him.
"Get. Off. My. Foot. Deku."
"Ah, sorry Kaachan." Midoriya apologized.
"Alright, now I'm going to break you guys off into pairs for the calendar photos. Go back to your dressing rooms. In there, you will find your themed outfit. Meet back here once you are dressed and we will get you set up for your shoot."
Kyoko walked back to her dressing room, wondering what theme she had and who she'd be paired up with. As she stepped back into the room, she noticed someone brought in a rack with a long sleeve wine red flared mini dress. A stylist was waiting next to the vanity mirror.
Kyoko took a seat and the stylist began brushing through her hair.
"They don't like giving a lot of information to the heroes about these photo shoots, they like to test you guys," Her stylist began braiding her hair, "Though, I will say, you have no worries. The guy you got paired up with is smoking."
Kyoko's stomached knotted, thinking to Todoroki when the stylist said smoking, "Why are testing us?"
"They do these photo shoots every year, purposely trying to pair up personalities they know will clash. Drama articles gets the money, you know?"
The young stylist held up a mirror to Kyoko could see her hair in the back. They had braided the sides of her hair and brought them together in the back, a simple yet elegant style to go with the dress. The stylist excused themselves, letting Kyoko slip out of her hero outfit. She took the dress of the hanger, unzipping and stepping into it. She contorted herself to zip up the dress and did a once over in the vanity mirror.
She slipped into the black high heels they provided her and headed out the door and back to the stage. She peaked about around trying to figure out what theme she was going to be in. The photographer made eye contact with her as he sent off two heroes in Halloween attire.
He pointed at her, "Stadusk, you're partner is also out here ready, follow me."
She walked out onto the stage where he pointed for her to stand. He craned his neck to look to the other side of the stage, pointing to someone and them to the empty spot next to her. She turned to look behind her, watching none other than Bakugo walking over in a matching wine-red button up with a black vest over it and black dress slacks.
A scowl sat upon his face as he looked Kyoko up and down, his hands were shoved into his black dress pants. The photographer snapped his fingers towards his crew. They scrambled to the stage to set up the background for the two heroes. Holding his camera, the photographer looked back to two and smiled.
"Nice…nice, the chemistry between you two…"
"There is no chemistry." Bakugo growled, "Just take the damn picture."
"Tut, Tut there Dynamight." The photographer purred, " You can't just simply… take the picture."
Kyoko stared at the floor, she was in no mood for Bakugo, or the photographer for that matter. Her thoughts flip flopped between yesterday's events and todays, wishing she could message her best friend about the current happenings, but knowing it would mean she'd have to apologize first and she was not about to do that.
"Oi, were you even listening?" Bakugo rough voice brought her back to the present moment.
Her head snapped up at him, an apathetic expression on her face, "No, no really."
She though she seen concern cross Bakugo's face, until he opened his mouth
"Don't let your personal issues seep into your profession." His eyes were narrowed at her as he pulled on her sleeve, "He said to pose like a dancing couple."
…
Atori sprawled herself out on Shinso's couch, she slowly turned her head to look over at him sitting in the arm chair with a cat on his lap.
"She's probably having the time of her life; making a new best friend to replace me in every aspect of her life." She whined.
"I think you're over-reacting a little Atori. It didn't even sound like you guys had a fight, more like an argument."
Atori sat straight up on the couch, her eyebrows furrowed together, "No, I know it was a fight. By now she would have texted me about the gig she's at, and she hasn't sent me a message since yesterday before the fight!"
Shinso watched Atori's lower lip quiver as she held back tears. His jaw tensed for a second before he sighed and picked up his cat and set the feline down on the cushion as he stood up.
"Why don't you just apologize, you knew she didn't want that type of design." He sat next to her.
"I didn't do anything wrong! It's the same material and made to keep her warm!"
Shinso sighed again, knowing there was going to be no way of fixing Atori's situation right away. He stared into her bright yellow eyes as she looked up at him, pouting. He placed his hand on top of hers, engulfing her hand with his as he gently pulled on it as he stood up. Atori lazily stood up with him, giving him a quizzical look.
"Would you like to go to the bookstore?" He asked, "I bet Hitomi will message you when she'd all done with the gig and tell you everything that happened."
"If she doesn't, I'm spending the night here." Atori demanded.
Shinso nodded his head before bending down and kissing the woman on the top of her head, "Okay."
…
Kyoko stood frozen with one hand on Bakugo's shoulder and the other shakily in his hand. He was almost able to keep a neutral expression, except for the quirked eyebrow as he stared down at the nervous girl.
The clicking of the camera wasn't helping either, her jaw tensed.
The photographer sighed, "Stardusk, you look tense, I need more of a… lusted expression. That goes for you too Dynamight."
She broke her gaze from Bakugo and looked over at the photographer with a disgusted look. Bakugo scrunched his nose up as she looked back at him and she snorted.
"What the hell?"
"You make the worst faces."
"Yours aren't any better! Just act like you like me or something. I want to get this over with."
Bakugo moved his free hand to the small of her back. He twisted enough to dip her down aways.
"Oh yes! Perfect! Stardusk, cup his cheek."
Kyoko did as she was told, placing her free hand on Bakugo's face and gazed into his deep red eyes. His skin was soft, and she could tell he must have shaven a day or so ago.
She knew Bakugo was muscular, but felt as if she weighed nothing as he held her in the dip position and showed no sign of fatiguing. She could hear the camera clicks off to the side.
The giddy camera man squealed, "Splendid, we got the shot, thank you!"
The blond lifted the woman back and up, releasing his grip on her.
"Your eyes look like kaleidoscopes." He made an annoyed expression.
She watched him turn and walk away. She was at a loss of words. She couldn't tell if he was complimenting her or insulting her. She huffed as she walked back to her dressing room.
…
Atori slumped over on the couch in Shinso's apartment, his cat sprawled out in her lap. She had been at Shinso's now for two and a half weeks, Kyoko still hadn't reached out to her and Atori refused to reach out as well.
Shinso peaked over at her from his kitchen. He sighed as he pulled out his phone. He had tried to get her to see it from both perspectives; how Kyoko was hurt because she was having insecurities and her best friend wasn't supporting her, and how Atori was hurt because Kyoko rejected her piece of work that she worked hard on and felt like Kyoko didn't have faith in her design. Neither were in the wrong nor in the right; yet, Atori refused his advice and stated Kyoko should apologize first. As much as Shinso adored Atori, he didn't know how much more he could handle the depressed woman.
Shinso scrolled through his contacts, stopping on the one he needed, "I'm going to run to the convenient store, do you want me to pick you up anything?"
Atori called out from her spot, "Booze."
He nodded to her as he walked past her to exit his apartment. Once he was down the hall he clicked on the contact and brought the phone to his ear.
"What do you want, Mindfreak?" an annoyed voice picked up.
"You remember how you owe me a favor?" Shinso flatly stated, looking at the cracks in the sidewalk as he walked down the street.
He could hear Bakugo exhale through his nostrils angrily, and in the background Shinso hears what seemed to be Kirishima's voice questioning Bakugo.
"Just tell me what you want already." Bakugo growled.
"Could you please check on Hitomi for me? Her and Atori are still fighting and I can't get a hold of her."
"Why don't you go to get agency?"
"She had taken the last week off from work and Centipeder says he can't disclose why."
Bakugo stayed silent for several seconds, "This is the favor you want to use?"
Shinso nodded as if Bakugo could see him, "Yes, please."
"Call us even then." He hung up after he finished his sentence.
