"It is common for most people to believe that destiny is planned out for them. Whether it is to look after a kingdom and its people in the hopes to guide them to a better future, or that of plaguing them with darkness and all manners of evil they had planned for them. That is why the school of Ever After High exists, an institution that helps young minds guide them to their rightful stories in the hopes for the next generation to learn from them. Though for for how many stories there are as well magic that needs to help them flow across their respective lands, they had to have it somewhere that could connect them to a source of magic where they could balance out the sides of good and evil as well trained in the proper ways. There was one place in the universe where a place like Ever After could be built upon as well learn the ways of learning to control magic and become future heroes or villains, Eternia. It would be there that the new generation of students would meet one another, whether to work together for a brighter future. Or meet their arch enemies and battle for all the kingdoms to see. The choice of what destiny they want would be up to them."
Morning-Eternos
Upon the world of Eternia stood the capital city of the planet. Eternos, there the royal family looked over its people for thousands of years protecting them from the threats of Eternia and welcoming anyone who sought their protection. Right now in the royal throne room was king Randor and queen Marlena looking at a holographic map of Ever After High as the school was now welcoming new students.
"Can't you imagine it Randor? It has been several years since we welcomed the other kingdoms onto Eternia to allow them in building their school, as well welcoming our people's children to attend. It's a delight to see them take interested unlike the schools we had in the past."
Marlena asked her husband how when the school announced that they were accepting children from across Eternia. They were meant with a welcoming spirit since it could help the children learn what roles they'd play and how'd they shape their future, unfortunately Randor wasn't exactly thinking about that but of another matter that was on his mind.
"Randor. You're drifting off again."
She spoke to him as Randor shook his head and looked at his wife in seeing how'd he ignores her compliment of the school which left him embarrassed at not listening. While it was good for their people to have a school that be opened for their kids, there was one particular child that he didn't know would fit into Ever After High.
"I've been recently thinking about Adam lately. Instead of focusing on how to be a king, he's been traveling across Eternia and getting into trouble. If he learns about the other lands that Ever After's students had come from, there's no telling where'd he go."
He explained to Marlena on their son's adventurous spirit that would often have Adam distracted and not focusing on looking after the kingdom. It wasn't entirely his fault since he himself was a young man eager to learn about Eternia and all its wonders, only to realize there were important things to do than indulging in his own interests.
"I know dear. Luckily the headmaster knows how to handle royal children, especially the ones will be sending to the school since the rest have already arrived."
She assured him on the faculty helping Adam realize his royal duties and the other children joining him when they travel to the school. They soon hear the doors opening as the couple knew it was the children coming in so they'd hear the speech they had ready for them. Coming into the throne room was four teenagers who stood at attention and excited to head off to Ever After High. There was a dark skin girl with white hair and blue eyes who had a commanding presence around her. The second was boy who was bigger than others with an iron helmet on his head, the others was a half cyborg boy with blonde hair and wearing a pair of green visors. The last boy was a dark skinned Avionian with wings on his arms and a confident smile for what would be in store for him and the others.
"Teela. Krass, Orius and Stratos. You each have been exceptional in the school's you attended growing up on Eternia, as well displayed great skill in becoming the future protectors of your homes. But Ever After High is different and will challenge you on the path you each will walk upon."
Randor informed the four on how they'd each would learn what their destinies would lead them to and how the school was unlike the ones they attended growing up. Teela herself was up for the challenge since her role would be to become the future leader of the heroic warriors and take up the title of her father as 'Man at Arms', which was an honor for anyone in the royal guards. The others had their own destinies they were excited in accomplish later on but kept their excitement in since their were in the presence of the king and queen.
"Now while I know you will make your parents and us proud, I must tell you that it's important of Adam to take his classes seriously if he plans to look after our kingdom. I'm not asking you as your king but as someone who wishes his son for the best, just make sure he doesn't get into trouble or anything that could get him in danger."
He brought up how he wanted them to keep a close watch on Adam since they were considered his friends due to how they were the only ones that could catch up to him. Just as he brought up about how troublesome Adam was and making sure he'd have an education; they heard the doors slam opened and see the future king of Eternos riding on top of his hoverboard with a huge green cat holding onto him in a panicked manner.
"We're home Cringer! You can let go now!"
The prince said as he couldn't control his riding as he lets go and lands on the ground along his car riding the hoverboard across the throne room. Screeching at how Cringer was about to crash onto the ground, Krass was able to stop the flying hoverboard and allow his massive body act like a pole to allow the car to jump on him.
"I have such a way with animals."
Krass spoke with a smile as he deactivates the hoverboard and helps Cringer get off him while also rubbing his fur to help settle the scaredy cat. Adam on the other hand was covered in leaf's and twigs which had possibly involved him traveling across the Vineyard Jungle where the beast clan was located.
"Hi mom, hi dad. We kind took a detour through the jungles and Cringer got scared when a bee stung him on the tail."
He explained about where he was and the dramatic entrance he made with his companion as it explained how messy he appeared. His parents didn't respond since it be an uncomfortable scene since his friends were in the same room with him. Marlena decided to guide the children to another room where she'd show them the supplies they'd be given once they arrive at the school. Randor walked towards the balcony where he'd want Adam to follow so he could have a father and son moment between them.
"I'd suggest you listen and wait to say something. It's always good to hear than act fly boy."
Teela offered him advice as Adam rolled his eyes since she's always tried to best him whether it was combat training or activities that they had in the yard. Though she would often be the voice in reason to help him know what to do in a serious moment, but it seemed like a good moment to listen to her suggestion. Following his father to the balcony where they saw the numerous homes and people attending their own lives along attending one another's needs.
"What do you see Adam?"
Randor asking him about the view of the people as well the rest of their kingdom since it was the same as ever. A place where they'd been looking after for years since the beginning of Eternos, seeing how he son noticed him asking the question. He decided to help answer it due to how he might not know what the real answer was.
"It's Eternia. It's a vast world where so many possibilities are open for its people, including the new visitors from Ever After that will want to take interest to. While I know you wish to enjoy the free time you have before taking up the responsibilities as king, it's important to know how you want others to look at you once you takeover."
Reminding him of the importance of the other future kings and queens from their kingdoms looking towards him when they embrace their destinies as rulers of their homes. Adam knew about that along the importance of how'd he have the eyes of Eternia looking up to him for help, but for now he wants to live the moment before he accepts his destiny in becoming king.
"I know dad. But I also know it's important to test myself against the rest of Eternia that wants to fight us since we kicked major battles against the hordes of evil. Which is important, right?"
He brought up how his father as well the old warriors defended Eternos from ancient evil's that once tried to claim the world as well its inhabitants to their control. Only for Randor and the other parents to push them back to the point where they believed the threat wouldn't come back. While he understood the truth in his son's words how force was needed to help assure peace, he learned eventually that words could help build trust than violence.
"Yes. But this time is different since the other kingdoms aren't like us, especially how you'll have your cousin attending Ever After High."
Randor telling Adam of an important issue that was urgent for him to take seriously since he had someone from the family attending with him at Ever After High. His cousin, whose parents were a part of the dark forces that challenged Eternos back in the old day and lost. After the battle had settled, Keldor's father insisted that Randor kept an eye on him to make sure he doesn't follow in his parents footsteps.
"Cousin Keldor?"
Asking out his name since unlike Adam who was confident and enjoyed messing around with his friends, Keldor was the exact opposite who read apart ancient spells from the elders of Eternia and trying to become the ultimate magic user across the lands.
"Despite how he doesn't want to attend. It's important that you help him along the way since both of you will be help maintain the peace across our home and Eternia. I'm sure you'll be able to handle helping him fit in."
He discussed how Keldor needed this in order to socialize with others once he comes of age to aid Adam as future king of Eternos. However unknowing to his father, Adam knew how Keldor was like since he always messes around with him and tries to make him look like an idiot. The only thing he could do was to smile and nod his head to his father in keeping an eye on Keldor, it left Randor to hug him on the journey to Ever After as well to becoming more than what he was now. Just as he enjoyed the moment he had with Adam; he notices a sword that he was carrying behind his back.
"That's an interesting sword you have on. Where'd you find it?"
Asking him of the unusual blade that Adam had obtained since it wasn't like any that Randor had in his armory or forged by the blacksmith in the castle. It left Adam to think about a response since it was the same place he explored with Cringer before coming back here.
"Just on the outskirts of the jungles. Something I want to look at if I'm going have classes about old Eternia."
Responding to his father's question about the sword that he'd obtained as Randor accepted it and instructed him to be ready for the trip to Ever After High. Leaving off to check on the others, Adam pulled out the sword to get a look at it since he found it at an abandon castle that he read about when he had to study about the various areas of Eternia. It might be possible for him to learn about what the sword is once he arrives at school, while still thinking about how he could survive attending it with Keldor at the same time.
Later-Ever After High
During the rest of the day at the school of fairy tales was the staff preparing to welcome the son of King Randor and Queen Marlena since it was the same couple that allowed the founders of Ever After High to build it in their kingdom. The one helping who was in charge of the welcome committee was Apple White, daughter of Snow White and future ruler of her kingdom. Singing a harmonious song to the animals around her, that hung up a banner that welcomed the prince of Eternia and the rest of his friends since it was an important occasion.
"Isn't it exciting Briar? For the first time we're getting to meet Prince Adam. From how I heard from the others, he's full of excitement and enthusiasm like the others here. I want to make sure everything is perfect for when he arrives."
She asked her best friend Briar Beauty, daughter of Sleeping Beauty as well party hostess since most of the other Eternian students had talked about Adam's background and how he'd be perfect to be friends with.
"Sure you do. Or is that you think he's cute from the photo's that were posted online talking about his first day here."
Briar asked as she teased Apple about when the news of Adam's arrival hit the school. She didn't respond to Briar's comment since while he was innocent looking to most of the princes here who tried to portray themselves as sword wielding knights to impress the girls.
"There be time for flirting another day. Today is about making new friends and learning about another kingdom."
Responding in a way that didn't make her feel embarrassed on what made Briar think she'd be interested in the prince. Quickly enough they heard the sound of jets in the airs as it was a ship landing down near the entrance where most of the students were watching from afar of Adam making his entrance. Out of the doors was a hat wearing Trollan who shows off fireworks which captivated the audience and to make the welcoming flashier.
"Greetings Ever After High! I am Orko, your new teacher in ancient stories and tales. May I introduce the prince of the family of Eternos, Prince Adam and the future heroic warriors!"
Introducing himself and throwing a smoke pellet at the doors opening up as it showed Adam and his friends walking out and met with an applause from the crowd. Orius enjoyed the cheering they were being received couldn't help himself but stretch his neck upwards like a giraffe to see above the crowd to look at the buildings of Ever After High.
"Hey! I'm the one that shows off here!"
Stratos announced to his cybernetic friend as Orius quickly retracted his neck to his body as there'd be enough time to show off their talents to the rest of the school. Walking over to meet the other students, the Eternian's were greeted by the headmaster of Ever after, Milton Grimm.
"It is a honor to have you all attend Ever After High prince Adam. While all are royalty and come from well known families, it's a pleasure for the couple that fought for the right to have our school on Eternia."
He praised him which felt a bit uncomfortable since all that Adam wanted was to attend and try to not draw in any attention. Nudging his head to Teela to try and take charge of the situation, the future royal captain decided to respond to the headmaster's kind words towards her friend.
"You have to forgive Adam, he's a bit overwhelmed by everything around him since this is his first time around other royal teenagers like himself."
Teasing him on having others like himself attend classes and would one day look after their respective homes. The rest of Adam's friends chuckled in amusement as it embarrassed him on that wasn't why he felt uncomfortable, leaving to the headmaster being answered. Milton turned his attention to Orko on the other arrival coming later on in the afternoon, this left Apple to walk over to meet the Eternians with a warm smile and open personality of friendship and joy.
"My name is Apple White, daughter of Snow White and future ruler of the fairy tale kingdom. There so many activities I know you'll all love once you settle in."
She introduced herself as the presence Apple was giving off was like feeling right at home and not wanting to keep secrets from her. Adam on the other hand was focused on the rest of the students who each different and unique compared to the rest of the Eternian students. His attention however went over to a tree where a girl was sitting by herself with no one around to hang out with her. What made her different from the other students that welcomed him and his friends was her violet and black hair. The chain belt she wore and how quiet she was compared to everyone else; Adam barely noticed a yellow haired girl popping up in front of him which caught him off guard.
"Hi. I'm Blondie Lockes, daughter of Goldie locks and reporter of news happening in Ever After High. And the girl you're looking at is Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen."
Doing a quick introduction of herself and informing him about the girl he was staring at as Blondie pulled out a tablet which showed a video of their kingdom's past which involved Raven's mother. While on the video it showed the queen as a heartless, wicked and cruel villainess that were similar to the forces that his father battled in the past. It seemed that Raven wasn't like that as she focused on what seemed like reading a history book of the kingdom where she came from.
"It's also important to know that she has magic just like her mom. Meaning she can turn you into a frog with a snap of her fingers."
Adding on how Raven was just as powerful as her mother, possibly more since it was likely she'd fill in her mother's role as the future evil queen. Adam didn't say anything as he went silent by how the same girl that Blondie was talking about was right behind her as Raven gave Blondie a glare. Scared at how she could curse her, Blondie made her leave as Adam was left with the possible future villainess of Apple's kingdom.
"You shouldn't believe everything that comes from the internet. Especially if they don't know the real truth of the story."
Raven spoke on not being like her mother as Adam could see through the look she had on, there was a friendly presence that came off her despite looking frightening. He couldn't himself but smile at her being right since he wasn't exactly royalty like the others that greeted him and the others when they arrived at the school.
"Hopefully I can learn more about the other side of everyone's story here. I'm trying to do the same for myself since I'll be attending classes here."
He added how it be possible to see what his future would be like since it seemed Raven was content with being like her mother. The moment was interrupted by a whistle coming from Teela as Apple wanted to give them a tour around the school, it left him to say his goodbye to Raven as he heads off to join the group. While the violet haired girl watched at how the prince walked off and being curious into seeing her again, Raven couldn't help but notice the sword he was carrying with him having a special aura around it.
"Looks like there are new stories that'll need to be researched about."
She spoke on despite where her story would be going due to the possibility of taking the role of being the new evil queen. Adam would become something neither Eternia nor the other kingdoms would expect due to the sword he was carrying. Yet whenever a great moment can happen, there must be sacrifice in order to earn it.
Night Time
Several hours passed with the Eternians settling in the school and getting rooms that would accommodate their stay at Ever After. Adam was given a large room with two beds; one side had his belongings, and the others would be Keldor. It would be strange seeing him since his cousin kept to himself and focused on other things than socializing with him nor the others. Sitting on his bed looking at his schedule for the classes he'd be having tomorrow, Adam was looking at the pamphlet that Apple gave him in order to understand what the school represented.
"Ever After High. An institution that helps the next generation of fairy tales learn about their parents past so they could make a future for themselves and the people they will look over. Under the guidance of the teachers that represent good and evil, the stories of tomorrow will be written today."
Adam reading the main statement that the school stood for since it was big deal for everyone to know where exactly their place would be once they have been taught the ways of their respective stories. Having enough to read and wanting to head to sleep, Adam noticed on the side of his best was the sword he discovered to make a peculiar sound.
"That's new."
Curious about it doing something as he took the moment to look at the blade he found and seeing his reflection shining at him. Just as he was looking at himself, Adam's reflection changed to a pair of eyes staring at him.
"Adam of Eternos."
A voice spoke through him as the boy dropped the sword to the ground confused about how the sword started to speak to him. Cautiously walking over to pick up the sword, the eyes on the sword had vanished to show his face again. Feeling spooked at what had just happened, the door opened to see someone standing at the entrance with a set of bags he was carrying. It was Keldor, his cousin who didn't have an enthusiastic look of sharing the room with him.
"Just as I thought for the future king of Eternia. Frantic as always, this will be a fun year."
He spoke in a sarcastic manner as Keldor walked over to set up and rest for tomorrows class. While he may have similarities to Adam such as his blue eyes, his left hand was that of a skeleton hand due to the magic he learned during his time with his parents. Having now share a room with Keldor, the sword that was messing with him and being in a school filled with numerous students with expectations of following in their families' footsteps. Adam didn't know whether to get excited or prepare for might be the biggest challenge in his life, school life.
