After the excitement caused by their lucky escape from Crait wore off, they were forced to face the reality. The Resistance was almost non-existent. No one answered their distress signal. They lost. Their hope was almost gone. Rey could see it in everyone's faces. Even Poe's. The story picks up straight after TLJ. Slow burn.
