Rey receives a message in a dream from a mysterious hooded figure. She seeks him out, and learns that an old emperor still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Humor, post-TLJ.

After Crait, the Resistance is in tatters. It will take time before they regain the strength to be anything more than an annoyance to the First Order. Meanwhile, the bond between Rey and Kylo Ren not only continues but grows. As the bond grows, so does their relationship. Distrust becomes begrudging acceptance. Then a strange sort of friendship. And then... well... ;)

Rey and Kylo Ren share a Force bond and it distracts them both as they fight on opposite ends of a galaxy-wide war. Life is strange and attraction adds a layer of complication that neither Rey nor Kylo is comfortable acknowledging. Still... Sometimes, in the sweet moments between dreams and reality, they meet as the Force tries to bridge the gap between understanding and love.

This story follows my changes to Episode 7 and 8. Leia is dead and Luke is guiding Rey as a Force Ghost. The Republic and the First Order are at war.
