CHAPTER 2
(PETER'S P.O.V)
If anyone would have told me I would be sitting in Roman's house side by side after our deadly showdown, across from two beautiful mysterious women, I would have laughed in their face. But here I was watching Jessica Hamby move back and forth showing off her vampiric agility. "Amazing," Roman stated in pure shock. "Is that your only ability as a vampire?," Roman inquired. "Aside from healing I have fangs," Jessica said, dropping her fangs. "And superhuman strength." I watched Roman stare at Jessica in fascination. I had to admit I was fascinated as well. Jessica wasn't like the ordinary vampire we were accustomed to. I then turned to Adilyn who sat quietly studying Roman and I. "Are you a vampire too.?" I asked her. "No, I'm a fae, half human and half fairy." She replied. "I can heal, and read thoughts." "Oh yeah what am I thinking right now?." I asked intrigued.
"Sssshhhhiiiittttt," she drawled my infamous response. These two were pretty much the real deal, but the millionaire questions was: Why were they here in Hemlock Grove?, and why did they help us?. "Since you healed us," Roman suddenly spoke up. "Does that mean we gain some of your special abilities?." Good question, considering they were a different species of vampire from Roman. "No," Jessica answered slowly, as she looked over nervously at Adilyn. "Since I healed you two it means if you were once supernatural, you will be a 100% human." "WHAT!," I exclaimed in disbelief, standing now in shock. "What the hell have you two done?!." I continued to exclaim. "Calm down Peter," Roman advised me. "Look we're sorry," Adilyn spoke up. "That was the hand we were dealt with inorder to survive where we came from. In a couple of hours by the time the sun comes up, we will also be fully human."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Just like that my Vargulf powers were gone. "Explain," I stated sitting down again. "We came here from a place called Bon Temp Louisiana. A place you can say is the Mecca of the supernatural. However a powerful ancient enemy destroyed our town, and everyone was killed. My mom-" Adilyn paused as her voice choked with emotion. "Used a spell to teleport us here. However like any magic it comes with a price. So she told us that by dawn we would be completely human." Silence filled the room, as I watched Adilyn shed tears silently. Roman handed Adilyn a box of tissues, as Jessica's eyes welled up as well. "Peter, can I speak to you in private for a moment?." Roman suddenly asked. Reluctantly I followed Roman into his kitchen. "This is it Peter," Roman whispered in excitement. "What?," I responded with a frown. "This is our second chance: our new lease on life." "That's it?," I said, staring back at him blankly.
"Two girls are in crisis, and all you could think of is yourself?." "No, no, no," Roman said quickly to clarify. "We help them of course, but don't you see we can write our wrongs, and put an end to the horrible cycle we've been through." I sucked my teeth, and walked out of the kitchen back to the ladies. It's not that I thought Roman was wrong, but I wasn't really ready to care about his opinions. I was too wrapped up with my own problems. I wasn't quite ready to accept the fact that I was merely mortal. "I want to say thank you for what you've done for Peter and I," Roman spoke up, appearing from the kitchen. "I have a request." Roman said, staring at me. "I have a sister and a daughter who is supernatural just like me, I want you to turn both of them human…"
