Once they were back at the League of Villains' hideout in Kamino Ward, Moonfish had been quarantined inside a small room where he wouldn't be a nuisance to anyone until the time came for him to be used. Shigaraki was very pleased with everyone's performance, especially Yuka and Twice, who had been instrumental in securing their target and taking down their opposition.

"Well done you two," he congratulated them proudly. "You've managed to impress me. I think now's the time to entrust you with a most important mission..."

Dabi looked at him with jealousy. "Seriously? Am I just a joke to you at this point, Shigaraki? If it weren't for me, fucking Smoke Machine here would have gotten eaten by that lunatic with the metal teeth."

Yuka shot him a look as her eyes narrowed. "Smoke Machine? Really?"

"Uncool, man!" Twice said to him. "I like it!"

He ignored her as he crossed his arm over his chest, still looking at Shigaraki.

"Don't get your knickers in a twist, Dabi!" he protested angrily. "Why don't you hear everything I have to say before jumping to conclusions?"

"Tch... Whatever."

Shigaraki shook his head disapprovingly. "Anyways, like I was saying. You two will be entrusted with a mission of the utmost importance."

"What is it already?" Yuka pressed him impatiently.

"So impatient! But here it is: you guys are going on a trip to the grocery store."

Yuka blinked incredulously, hardly believing what she had just heard. Dabi's previously furious expression transformed into a gleeful smirk as he started to laugh mockingly at them.

"You... want us to visit the grocery store? What for?" asked Yuka.

"To get food of course!" Shigaraki exclaimed. "Jeez, have you never gone grocery shopping before?"

"Are you quite serious now? You want us... to go to the grocery store... and buy food?"

"Yes! We're out of food, therefore, we need to get more. What's so complicated to understand about that? Oh and, don't forget to buy lots of meat for our new friend. I would hate to have to feed one of you guys to him..."

Yuka let out an incredulous "tch" as she rolled her eyes at Shigaraki's request. She couldn't believe that he was asking her to do something so demeaning and mundane, given her extensive set of skills.

"Why don't you have someone else to do your dirty work," she retorted in a colder tone. "I didn't join you so you could saddle me with your chores."

Shigaraki peered at her through his mask. Dabi was trying to contain his laughter while Twice and Spinner cringed at what she had just said.

"You'll do exactly as you're told," Shigaraki replied in a low voice. "You agreed to that when you decided to join up with us. Now, be a good little soldier and go buy us some groceries."

They stared at each other for a moment. With every passing second, the air grew thicker and thicker until tensions were so high that you could almost see it hanging in the air. After a long silence, Yuka finally relented, rolling her eyes as she started to make her way towards the exit.

"Whatever," she said to him. "Just give me a second to get changed and I'll get your stupid food... Twice, meet me downstairs in 5 minutes."

"Roger that, beautiful!/You're not the boss of me!" he answered her before she exited the bar.

Yuka retreated to her room, replacing her gas mask with a black face mask made of cloth. She removed her sword from her waist, setting it down on her bed before leaving the room again to meet with Twice, who had changed into his normal clothes and was smoking a cigarette outside. Yuka sighed loudly, strangling a few coughs as she started to make her way down the street towards the small supermarket on the corner of the block.

"What's with you people and your cigarettes..." she muttered to herself.

"Hey buzz off lady! I do what I want!/Apologies, ma'am," Twice responded in his usual contradicting voices.

She looked at him from over her shoulder. Since she had met him, she had been trying to figure out what his deal was, why he seemed to contradict himself constantly. It also seemed like he sometimes talked with two different voices, as if he were two people sharing a single body. Everyone else in the League seemed cool with it, but Yuka still wondered why he was like that in the first place.

"So... What's your deal, Twice?" she asked in a calm voice.

"Call me Jin when we're off the clock..." he answered briefly before pulling on his cigarette.

"Sure. You can call me Yuka then."

"Well, Yuka... It goes something like this: I used to have an army of clones at my disposal. Clones of me. I ruled over them like a king, but then the other "me"s didn't like that and tried to kill me. That's how I got this scar..." He traced it with his fingers, then flinched. "No it's not!/Shut up!"

He placed a hand to his face, like he was struggling against something. He then placed his cigarette to his lips, inhaled deeply and blew a long stream of smoke into the air. This seemed to calm him down, so Yuka left him to his smoking.

"I'm sorry about that. I shouldn't have asked..." she said flatly, burying her hands inside the pockets of her jacket.

"I don't mind telling you," he said to her calmly. "Toga knows and she seems to think you're pretty cool."

She scrunched her nose at the mention of Toga's name. "Yes, she seems quite enamored with me..."

Jin let out a slight laugh. After a short walk, they arrived at the corner supermarket and entered through the front door. They grabbed two shopping baskets, one for each, and started perusing the aisles.

"What about you? What's with the face masks?" he asked her as he was examining a few items from the canned section.

Yuka exhaled through the nose. She had asked him a personal question before. It was only natural that he would ask one in return.

"Don't tell the others, alright?" she said before she answered his question. "My body isn't made to handle my quirk. My lungs get quite irritated when I use it and, well... Since I've used it quite a lot in my life, my lungs have sustained permanent damage, which makes it hard for me to breathe in polluted air. That's why I can't stand when people smoke around me."

"Oh shit! I didn't know that-"

She shook her head. "It's fine. I can block out most of the pollutants by wearing a mask, but sometimes, that's not enough. If I'm producing a gas that's particularly bad for the human body, my lungs start to hurt and I get into these violent coughing fits. Sometimes though, my lungs get so raw that they start to bleed."

"Holy shit that's hardcore! Can't you do anything about it?"

"I have breathing exercises that I do everyday to both maximize my quirk's output and to control my cough. But regarding the damage that's already been done, like I said, it's permanent. There's nothing I can do to reverse it..."

She lowered her gaze towards a few items sitting on a shelf. She had resigned herself a long time ago to the fate that had been thrusted upon her. A long life just wasn't in the cards for her. Her quirk would inevitably bring about her destruction so she might as well make the most out of it and the time she had to inflict real change on the world.

"Damn, I'm really sorry about that, Yuka..." Jin said apologetically.

"That's alright, Jin," she answered him in a low voice. "I guess that makes us even now. We can focus on the task at hand now that we're both more acquainted with each other."

"Hell yeah! You said it sister!"

Yuka smiled behind her mask. Out of all the people she had met since yesterday, Twice was probably the one she would consider her favorite out of all the members of the League of Villains. Even though he had groped her during their preparations for today's mission, he was an alright guy in the end. At least he wasn't tormenting her constantly like a certain raven-haired boy they both knew and "loved"...

As they continued to shop in the small grocery store, something in the air changed. Yuka turned her attention towards the front of the store, where a few people were quietly shopping for essentials. As she went to turn her attention away, she saw a bunch of rowdy looking men enter the store firing guns into the ceiling, prompting everyone to duck down in fear.

"Alright listen up everyone!" The leader of the group bellowed out. "You're all going to surrender your belongings and no one gets hurt, ya got it?!"

Yuka and Jin both huddled up near the ends of two neighboring aisles. Yuka could see him crouched up against the aisle next to hers, nervously twitching as his hands reached for his head. She had seen him doing this before. She could hear him muttering to himself. The bandits hadn't seen them yet, but their leader had them split up in the store to subdue the customers and take their belongings. They hadn't gotten to the back of the store yet, but Yuka knew that if Jin made too much noise, he would inevitably attract them to their position.

She internally cursed at the fact that she didn't have her sword with her. Were it in her possession right now, it would have been so easy for her to dispatch these amateur villains, but right now, she was just a defenseless civilian caught in a grocery store hold-up. Well, maybe not completely defenseless... She did keep a dagger tucked away in her boot, but such a close-range weapon was dangerous to use against people with guns. She also had her quirk, but since she wasn't wearing her support item, her options were quite limited when it came to the types of gasses she could use. Not to mention that she had Twice to think about in all this. He seemed to be on the brink of flipping out, especially now that he was struggling to pull something out of his pocket. She knew he was trying to pull his mask out so that he could wear it over his head, but if he put it on, he would be at risk of being recognized as a villain out in public. As his hands pulled the mask over his face, Yuka had no choice but to roll over to his position, wrap him in her arms and hide his head inside her jacket, effectively pressing his face against her chest. This made Jin completely freeze as the bandits robbing the store quickly found the two of them hiding in the back of the store.

"HEY! On your feet you two!" One of them threatened as he waved his gun at them.

Yuka looked up at the man who had just spoken to them. "My friend is scared! Please! Just take our belongings and go! We don't want any trouble!"

Her acting had been surprisingly convincing. It was probably the most emotion she had displayed since she had joined with the League. The bandits weren't pleased with her response though and trained their guns towards her head.

"I said move, bitch!" he said as he fired a warning shot into the ceiling.

Yuka flinched at the sound of the gunshot. Meanwhile, Twice had made himself comfortable in Yuka's bosom, which made her internally roll her eyes at him. The robbers were clearly not going to let them get away with staying crouched down on the ground, and Yuka couldn't risk them recognizing Twice, so she came up with a plan.

"Jin, hold your breath..." she whispered to him, before taking in a huge breath.

Before the two bandits had time to react, she blew a huge cloud of sleeping gas into the air, knocking them unconscious. The sound of their bodies flopping to the ground attracted their colleagues' attention, but the smoke from her quirk obscured the air around them. She then pushed Jin away, rolling backwards to grab one of their guns and shot at the other bandits at the front of the store. The bandits, now confused as to why their friends were suddenly shooting at them, shot back towards Yuka, but were taken out by Twice who had finally moved to grab the other guy's gun. Once the bandits had been neutralized, Yuka filled her lungs with oxygen and blew away the sleeping gas so that Twice could finally breathe easy.

"Quick thinking, Miasma!" he said with a thumbs up.

"Come on," she ordered dryly. "Let's get the rest of our stuff and get out of here. I don't want to stick around and wait for the cops to show up."

Twice nodded as he and Yuka started to fill their shopping baskets with whatever they could lay their hands on. Once they were completely full, they bolted out of the store while everyone was still busy dealing with the aftermath of the robbery. A few employees called out for them to stop, but it was already too late. They left the store in a hurry, baskets full of food, as they made their way back towards their hideout.

Once they were back in the old motel, Shigaraki entered the bar area where the two of them had arrived, panting profusely as though they had just run a marathon. Yuka's breath was especially hoarse. He had heard the gunshots and the police arriving a few minutes later, and now the two people he had sent to the store were completely out of breath with shopping baskets full of food. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"What the hell?! I asked you two to buy the food! Not steal it!" he complained loudly.

"We... were planning on doing that," Yuka started to explain, before she took a few long breaths. "But then a gang of thugs came by and took everyone hostage."

"Yeah! If it weren't for Yuka's quick thinking, we wouldn't have made it back here with the goods!" Twice added to her story.

"A slight exaggeration there... but yes, I took down the thugs that were threatening to kill us before suppressing the rest. Twice was a big help on that last part."

"Eyyy all in a day's work, mi amor./You were completely useless back there!"

"I see..." Shigaraki said in a low voice. "Well, no matter. You guys got the goods in the end without getting caught, so I guess this mission was also a success. Try not to get in trouble next time though..."

"Yes, sir."

He waved them away and the two of them went up the stairs to put away their haul. As they started to put away the food in the appropriate spaces, they were suddenly joined by Magne and Toga.

"Hey you two!" Toga said in a cheerful tone. "I overheard you two talking about your little misadventure at the supermarket... It must have been so scary, being trapped in that dreadful store..."

"Not at all!" Twice answered enthusiastically. "Yuka did a great job at keeping us safe! Plus, I even got to-"

Yuka's eyes turned steely as she shot him a murderous glare. "Not a word, Twice!"

He shuddered at her stare. "Yikes! So scary!/I like it!"

Twice then left the room, having finished putting away his half of the groceries and not wanting to stick around to see what she would do to him if he said something else.

"Ouuh looks like something happened between you two," Magne mused jokingly. "Is it because he couldn't keep his hands off you before, Miasma?"

Yuka's deadly glare rested on Magne now. "You watch your mouth, or I might have to cut off your tongue..."

"Sheesh! Lighten up will you? You're almost as big of a killjoy as that burnt chicken nugget..."

"Come on, Big Sis Magne!" Toga said to her as she swayed her head from side to side. "Mia's a lot more fun than that loser."

"Who are you calling a loser, psycho bitch?" A familiar voice came from the doorframe.

Dabi stood underneath the frame of the door with a nonchalant look on his face. He had changed into a pair of dark gray sweatpants and had no shirt on, which exposed his entire upper body, including his nipple piercings. Yuka stared at him for a short moment, taken aback by the sight of his piercings and his body.

"I heard about your little trip to the supermarket," he said with a smirk. "So, can't even manage a simple trip to the store without getting into trouble, huh sweetheart?"

Yuka angrily threw a banana at him, which he caught with ease. He then chuckled softly as he started to split it open.

"How thoughtful of you. I was getting hungry..."

"Did you want anything else, Dabi?" she said to him, voice dripping with venom. "Or are you just here to mock me?"

He let out another low chuckle. "And what if I am? What are you going to do about it? Chuck another banana at me?"

This time, she threw one of the kitchen knives at him, which lodged itself into the edge of the door frame, right next to where his head was. He huffed unamusingly, stepping back into the hallway.

"You're fucking crazy," he muttered to himself, before heading over towards his room.

Yuka exhaled harshly as she continued to put the groceries away. "I swear to fucking god, I'm going to kill him one day."

"Good, saves us the trouble of having to do it ourselves," Magne chuckled. "By the way, thanks for keeping Jin safe. This might sound weird to you, but we're like a big ol' family here at the League of Villains. At least, that's how Toga and I see it."

"Yeah that's why Magne here is everyone's Big Sis!" Toga added with a huge smile.

Yuka stood silent for a moment, staring intently at some cans that she had been in the process of putting away. She had heard similar words spoken to her in the past and the only thing they had given her was pain. Her grip tightened around the two cans she was holding as she felt her mind slip back into the painful memories of her father, laying on the wet pavement as his blood trailed off into a puddle. She then slammed the two cans against the counter, snapping her back to reality as she breathed in deep to subdue her emotions.

"I'm not interested in being anyone's 'family'," she said coldly. "Nor am I here to make friends, so you can just save your energy and go bother someone else."

The air grew incredibly cold as Magne and Toga stared at her in surprise. After a short while, though, Magne's eyes shifted into a serious expression as she got up from her chair.

"Let's go, Toga," she said in a dry tone. "We're clearly not welcomed here."

Himiko shot a dark glare towards Yuka, who simply stared back at her with empty eyes. Once the two women had left the room, Yuka continued putting away her things before retiring to her room for the night. Despite having pushed her feelings away earlier, she couldn't help but feel this residual anger inside of her. Despite her best efforts to keep the emotions at bay, she couldn't help but feel... frustrated. Why couldn't she control her emotions? Why was she suddenly reliving all of these old memories? And as the anger inside of her started to bubble up to the surface, the only way she found to quell the beast was to punch the wall. She felt a sharp pain rush through her fist as she recoiled from the strike. She hadn't lashed out this much since she was a young child, when she was still learning to control her emotions. After the rage had finally subsided, she inhaled a deep breath as she crouched down in the middle of her room, ready to undertake her evening meditation. She felt like she really needed it this time. She needed to find her center and calm the storm that was brewing inside her mind, but instead, as she concentrated on her breathing and slowly felt the world drift away around her, she was transported once again into one of her memories.

In her vision, she was kneeling down next to a few other children with their hands resting on the small of their backs. She looked up to see her father, or at least the man she had called father once she had been taken in by the Yakuza. Takuma Sakurazuka... master assassin and right hand man to the leader of the Shie Hassaikai. Of course, at the time, she knew nothing of his occupations, blissfully unaware of the environment in which she would be raised in...

A sharp sensation suddenly rips through her face as she is sent straight to the ground. She hadn't even seen her father raising his hand to strike her on the cheek. Her eyes met with the glass eye that stared back at her. His serene smile had not faltered. She was being punished. She couldn't remember why, but she remembered that her breathing had become incredibly labored at that moment. The expression on her father's face changed once he noticed that he and the other children around her were having difficulty breathing properly. It soon became clear to him that she was the cause of this phenomena as shortly after that, she lost consciousness.

As her consciousness faded, so did the memory around her, like smoke in the wind. Yuka found herself back in her own body, gasping for air. She could feel the cold sweat dripping from her body as her fingers brushed the spot where she'd been slapped all those years ago. After that fateful incident where she had discovered her quirk, her adoptive father took a keen interest in her. She had been separated from the other children and sent to a different home, where her father had followed her. She never saw those kids that had been affected by her quirk. Instead, she had been placed with others with powerful quirks like her own. These were the children that were destined to become members of the Shie Hassaikai, provided that they survived the many trials ahead of them. Yuka remembered how grueling her training had been under the organization. On more than one occasion, she had finished her training with her knuckles red with blood. She had been the only girl recruited in the Shie Hassaikai and had to face the other boys on many occasions. They never once pulled their punches with her, which was also the reason her father had been so hard on her. She needed to be reinforced, physically as well as mentally, so that she could survive her training the same as the others...

Yuka shook her head, trying to chase away the memories. She couldn't understand why they were all coming back to her now, all of a sudden. Was it because she had joined with the League of Villains? She couldn't see how joining them had anything to do with her past. While she desperately tried to push away the feelings and the thoughts that were flooding her mind, she noticed that it was night outside. Had she been meditating this whole time? She didn't question it further and decided to go and shower herself before going to bed. Maybe some much needed rest is all she needed to clear her mind of the thoughts that were clouding it...
