It was just a boring Friday at Glasshouse High School, Lucky and Jack were roaming around the school with nothing to do.
Lucky: What happened yesterday?
Jack: Well, something happened while playing cricket with me, Rusty and Mackenzie
Lucky: What is it? An accident?
Jack: Yeah...
Lucky: Oh wait, Rusty accidentally swung his bat too hard, which made his ear bleed right?
Jack: I think he told you when you just came.
Lucky: Oh yeah... One more thing to note...
Lucky: Mackenzie said that you like Chloe right?
Jack: How did you know?!
Lucky: Mackenzie messaged me in our group chat.
Jack: *whispers* Darn you Mack...
Lucky: What? You do?
Jack: N-no!!! *blushes*
Lucky: Admit it. You are pretty comfortable around her. Just say you have a crush on her.
Jack: What?!?! No!!!
Lucky: You clearly do.
Jack: For god's sake, stop saying that I have a crush on Chloe when I clearly do not!!!
Lucky: Chill dude... I was just messin' around bud...
Jack: Hmph... That's what I thou--
Chloe: Hey Jack!
Jack: AAGH!!!!! Oh... hey Chloe... *blushes*
Jack: What brings you here?
Chloe: Can you help me with something?
Jack: Umm... sure... You have to wait for me Lucky alright?
Lucky: Okay.
Lucky: *whispers* Lovebirds.
Rusty: Yo! Whassup Lucky!
Lucky: Heyyy Rust-Dust!
Rusty: Bruhh... stop callin' me that dude.
Lucky: I say it when I'm bored...
Rusty: Anyways, where's Jack?
Lucky: He was called by his "special friend" to the library.
Rusty: Ohhh... Wanna spy on them?
Lucky: Sure thing bud...
Rusty and Lucky followed Chloe and Jack to the library entrance, without the Jack Russell Terrier or the Dalmatian noticing.
Chloe took Jack inside the vacant room, bringing him to a wooden table with a sudoku puzzle.
Chloe: I know you're good at sudoku, so can you help me with this?
Jack: Um... you know what, sure!
Chloe: Thanks Jack!
Jack: Its all good!
Jack helped Chloe for the past 8 minutes to help her on where to place certain numbers in the boxes. Although Jack has a good knowledge of sudoku, he often forgets things sometimes. Maybe half the time or not. But sudoku is something that he could remember pretty easily because of positions, rows and columns that the puzzle shows.
Chloe: Wow... That was quick!
Jack: Well... *blushes* I'm happy to help one of my closest friends.
Chloe: Aww... thank you...
*hugs Jack*
Jack: *blushes more*
Chloe: Come on! Let's get to class before the bell rings.
Jack: Hehe... okay then.
Jack felt so proud of himself as he helped out his crush out and was given a hug. But his smile will curve down when he opened the exit door of the library ; Lucky and Rusty were spying on him.

Jack: AAGH!!!!!
Rusty: Whoa dude... chill... Its just us!
Jack: Chloe, you go by yourself okay?
Chloe: Uhh... okay... see ya in class!
Jack: See ya!
*turns to Lucky and Rusty*
Jack: What are you doing here?!
Lucky: Spying on ya, what else?
Jack: Do you really have to tell me the same theory earlier?
Lucky: What theory?
Jack: You clearly know it.
Rusty: Let me guess, cricket incident?
Jack: ... what.
Rusty: Okay! We don't know! What the heck is it?!
Jack couldn't stand the pressure of his friends telling him what this "theory" is. So, he lost it.
Jack: I have a crush on Chloe, okay?!?!
Lucky: Hah!! I knew it!!
Rusty: Oh we knew, but we had to make you admit it.
Jack: What the !@%!!!
Rusty: Whoa!!!! Chill bro... And also, watch your language man...
Jack: Can you just shut up... I'm a bit stressed now... Imma go to class now.
The J.R.T was a bit too bothered by Lucky and Rusty so he left the two dogs by themselves.
Lucky: Do you think we went too far on forcing him to admit it?
Rusty: Yeah... we were.
Lucky: But, for some reason he actually does have a crush on her, right?
Rusty: Yeah, Mackenzie messaged me the other day.
Flashback: 1 day ago
Jack: Hey Mack?
Mackenzie: Yea dude?
Jack: I have to admit something...
Mackenzie: Really? What is it?
Jack: I would tell but, I don't want to be embarrased by what I'm about to say.
Mackenzie : So, what are you about to say?
Jack: I... I... I have a crush on Chloe...
Mackenzie: Oh! Well that's a surprise...
Jack: Indeed.
Jack: I have to go to class now, see ya!
Mackenzie: See you bud!
*walks away*
*Mackenzie brings up phone*
*types to his space quad-trio group chat about the Jack's secret*
Lucky: Yeah, I should've know...
Rusty: Same.
Rusty: But I hope he's fine.
*bell rings*
Lucky: Let's see what happens to Jack and later today.
Rusty: Alright then.
With that, Rusty, Lucky and practically everyone walked to their classes.
The lesson was involving maths and algebra. Now, everyone was not the best at algebra let alone ones involving decimals. But aside from the lesson, Lucky saw Jack looking a bit irked from him and Rusty vexing him.
Lucky: Psst, Jack!
Lucky recieved no response. It was like that time that Lucky sweared at Judo but no one replied. Except, it only involved a small sample (Jack) rather than a census (Whole class).
Without the reply, Lucky gave out an addled expression and a bit pertubed towards Jack.
He thought about teasing Jack having a crush on Chloe ; making his hackles rise.
Two periods later, Lucky and Rusty decided to play footy without Jack.
When in the middle of playing, Rusty called out that he wanted to munch on something.
Rusty: Hey Lucky? You got somethin' I can eat?
Lucky: Umm... I brought some muesli bars if that can satisfy you...
Rusty: Nah, I like muesli bars.
Just then, Jack approached them, not feeling riled anymore. Instead, he looked a bit remorseful.
Jack: Hey Lucky, Hey Rusty...
Lucky: Oh! Jack! What's up bro?
Jack: I... I'm sorry for not answering you guys for three straight periods...
Rusty: Nah, its all good... We're sorry too bro...
Jack: I'm alright. But, can I tell you guys something, also can I have a muesli bar?
Lucky: Uh... sure! You can tell us that "something". And yeah, you can have a muesli bar.
Jack: Thanks!
Rusty: So... what are you gonna tell us?
Jack: Now that I admitted that I have a crush on Chloe... I think that...
Jack: I kinda want to take her out on a date...
Rusty: A date?
Lucky: Wow... darn bro...
Jack: Yup... I ain't kiddin' bro.
Lucky: Are you sure about that? I mean, you two are best friends but taking her out on a date is a bit strange if you ask me bro.
Jack: Yeah, that's the issue... I want to take her out in a way that its not one.
Rusty: I have an idea...
Jack became curious with the red kelpie's idea.
Jack: What's your idea?
Rusty: You can ask her to have a hangout! Just you and her. Nothin' special.
Jack: Like how we have hangouts?
Rusty: Yes! Like that! But instead of me, its Chloe.
Lucky: Huh, that ain't a bad one Rust-Dust.
Rusty: Please do not call me that nickname... Its pretty bad.
Lucky: Gah, fine... I'll stop.
Rusty: So, what do you think Jack?
Jack: I think that's a pretty solid idea! Thanks Rusty and Lucky!
Rusty: Aight, no worries!
After that, Jack left the two dogs and went straight towards Chloe, who was picking up flowers with Bluey and Honey.
Jack: Hey Chloe!
Chloe: Hi Jack!
Chloe: What brings you here?
Jack: *blushes* Well... um... uh... I...
Chloe: You can tell me later, no need to worry.
Jack: Uh... okay...
Chloe: Here you go! Some daisies!
Jack: Umm... uh... thanks!
Jack couldn't stand Chloe's kindness and prettiness as he started to blush even more than what he initially thought in his head whenever he is around Chloe.
Chloe: Hey, are you okay?
He later covered his eyes with his hand, feeling a bit embarrased by calling his crush without any sort of reason.
Bluey: *whispers* I think he's blushing...
Honey: *whispers* Yeah... he is...
Chloe: Umm... Jack? Everything good?
He eventually gave in deep breaths and attempted to ask the question.
Jack: Chloe?
Chloe: Yes Jack?
Jack: I just want to say... do you want to have a hangout tomorrow? Just the two of us?
Chloe: Umm... *blushes* Are you asking me out on a... date...?
Jack: Wh-what?!?! N-no!!! Its just us being friends!
Chloe: Are you sure about that...?
Jack: Yes...
Chloe: Okay then...
Jack: Umm... what do you think...?
Chloe: Uh... um... sure... I would like a hangout...
Jack: YESS!!! I mean... cool.
Chloe: Should I wear a dress tomorrow?
Jack: If you'd like...
Chloe: Thanks Jack!
Jack: Hehe, where should we meet up at?
Chloe: I suggest that we can go to downtown Brisbane! I think that'll be a nice place for our hangout.
Jack: Is it near Brisbane?
Chloe: It is! I think it'll be nice.
Jack: Oh wow! It'll be nicer if you're around.
Chloe: *blushes more* R-really? I appreciate that compliment...
Jack: So, you're able to come?
Chloe: I hope so!
Chloe: My dad lets me go out myself sometimes if I want to hangout with Bluey, Honey and most of my friends!
Jack: Alright, sounds good!
It was a success. Jack had finally asked her on a date, without even telling Chloe that they were going on a date.
He had to wait for the next day for his first date.
After school, Jack and Mackenzie were walking themselves to their parents' cars.
Mackenzie: Hey, I'm sorry for telling Lucky and Rusty about your secret.
Jack: No need to apologise, everything's all good now.
Jack: Also, didn't I tell you that I'm going on my first date tomorrow?
Mackenzie: Wait, you have a date with Chloe???
Jack: Yep! How do you feel about that?
Mackenzie: Bro, that's amazing!
Jack: Yea... thanks dude...
Mackenzie: Hey, you nervous dude?
Jack: Umm... kinda...
Mackenzie: Just be yourself dude, and try to prove to her that you are a more than a good friend.
Jack: Alright... thanks bro!
Mackenzie: Happy to help!
Afterwards, the two dogs parted ways and went to their cars, later driving off to their homes.
When Jack came home, he told his parents that he is going on his first hangout with Chloe (aka. his first date) the next day.
At first, his younger sister, Lulu, said that he would not do good at all because of his strange and cringe behaviour when around the 16-year-old dalmatian when it comes to random hangouts outside of school.
But his parents stopped her from embarassing her brother. Instead of such negativity, their parents told him to do his best and be himself, similar to how Mackenzie said.
The next day, Jack woke up, excited. It was the day where he would have his first date.
Lulu however, thought his brother was being absolutely weird.
Lulu: Bro, stop being excited. You clearly will have problems on having this hangout.
Jack: Sis, enough. Leave me alone.
Lulu: Look bro, I'm not saying this rudely but you can be a bit stupid whenever you are around Chloe.
Jack: Listen... I have something to tell you. This hangout is more than that. This is not my first hangout with Chloe, in fact I have plenty of hangouts with her.
Lulu: But why did you say that its your first hangout with Chloe?
Jack: That's because I never had one with her only. She's around whenever Bluey or Indy comes with me and Rusty's hangouts.
Lulu: But what's with you and Chloe?
Jack: I... have a crush on her...
Lulu: So you're taking her on a date?
Jack: I used the word "hangout" to replace "date". Yes. I am taking her out on a date.
Lulu: Okay... noted.
Jack: I hate that you don't approve of this... I just want to prove that I'm more than just a friend to Chloe.
Lulu: I'm not saying I hate the idea of your date, I'm just saying that you can have a change of behaviour oddly.
Jack: I'll try to stay a bit more mature and change my behaviour.
Lulu: That's good to hear. Good luck bro. *hugs him*.
Jack: Thanks sis.
With the support of his sister, he felt more confident when it comes to the date.
According to Chloe, during the second break, she said that she is able to have the "hangout" in the afternoon.
So, Jack prepared himself at noon wearing a black and plaid jacket with a white shirt with a name of himself printed in the middle.
Before 2 o'clock, Jack was ready to go on his first date. With this, he called Chloe.
Chloe: Hi Jack!
Jack: Hey Chloe! When are you able to come to Brisbane?
Chloe: Uhh... I'm able to arrive by half past 2.
Jack: That's 2:30pm right?
Chloe: Yeah, but I might come earlier than that ; 2:15 earliest.
Jack: Alright, see ya!
Chloe: Bye!
The call ended, and Jack was ready.
His family gave him a smile before he left the house.
And by 2:00pm, he got on his bike and cycled to Brisbane.
After 25 minutes, he arrived at the bustling city of Brisbane.
He thought that finding his crush would be a bit of challenge. But after less than five minutes of roaming around downtown Brisbane, he saw her.
Chloe looked absolute beautiful according to Jack. She had a orchid on top on her head alongside a yellow dress filled with dandelions and a skirt as bright as the sun.
Chloe: Oh! Jack!
Jack: Oh hi Chloe-- *blushes a bit too much*
Chloe: Umm... you alright?
Jack: Uh... yeah! I'm totally fine!
Chloe: So? Where should we go?
Jack: I have a bike! We can cycle around Brisbane and maybe take some pictures!
Chloe: You have a bike?
Jack: Yeah... I often am driven by my mum when it comes to random hangouts, so I rarely use my bike. And also I got it recently.
Chloe: Funnily it has two seats...
Jack: Wait it does?! I mean... it does...
Chloe: What do you think? Shall we start this hangout!
Jack: Yep! Let's start.
Together, Jack and Chloe started to cycle across Brisbane.
The sun was beaming down to the city giving off a bright sunlight with a fresh breeze of wind. Jack felt a bit of a strong heartbeat as he is cycling with Chloe.
Chloe: So, how've you been?
Jack: Umm... I'm doing good. Lulu is doing alright I guess.
Chloe: How old is Lulu?
Jack: She's turning 14 soon... I think her birthday is in two and a half weeks I think.
Chloe: Okay then...
Jack: I have to know, what happened six days ago?
Chloe: Umm... basically... Indy's allergies kicked in.
Jack: Oh god... That was not what I thought...
Chloe: Trust me, Hercules took it too far.
Jack: Ugh, that weirdo again? Goodness me, he needs to be expelled soon rather than being suspended. What did he do?
Chloe: So apparently, Indy is allergic of meat, therefore she's vegan.
Jack: Let me guess, he gave her something with meat?
Chloe: Pork. She forced her to eat a pulled pork sandwich and then... well... Indy had trouble breathing...
Jack: Oh boy... is she alright?
Chloe: Yeah, she's fine, Rusty helped her the most, obviously.
Jack: Man, its strange that Rusty and Indy are actually dating.
Chloe: But they are so cute together!
Jack: I know right!
The two cycled across the city going to places such as the Botanic Gardens and the Roma Street Parkland.
The two kept chatting about their lives and what they are going to do for the future.
After a while, the two started to get hungry.
Chloe: Oh my... I'm starving...
Jack: Uh... oh! There's a korean corndog stall over here!
Chloe: Oh! That'll be nice!
On the way to the stall, Chloe saw someone familiar. It was Bluey.
Chloe: Bluey?!
Bluey: Chloe?! *squeals* How are you?
Chloe: Oh I'm fine!
Bluey: Hey Jack!
Jack: Oh! What's up Bluey?
Bluey: I'm doing good! What are you two doing?
Jack: We are having a da-- aaaaa-- I meant- uuuuuh... hangout!
Bluey: Are you alright dude?
Jack: Nah, I'm good. I'm just buying corndogs for me and Chloe--
Mackenzie: What's up Jack?!
Jack: AAAAA!!!!!
Bluey: *wheezes and laughs loudly*
Chlos: *giggles*
Jack: Holy guacamole dude... you scared the crap outta me!
Mackenzie: Sorry... me and Bluey are having a hangout, but we saw you at the stall so we decided to scare ya.
Jack: Please, do not do that--
Rusty: What's up broski?!?!
Jack: AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
Rusty, Bluey: *wheezes*
Mackenzie: *laughs hard*
Chloe: *laughs lightly*
After that strange encounter, the five dogs decided to have a huge hangout with each other.
Strangely, Chloe stopped talking to Jack. She started to talk more to Bluey after they bought their corndogs. This made the J.R.T a little bit jealous.
Jack: Uh Chloe?
Jack: Chloe?!
Jack: Chloe!!
Chloe: Oh!! Um... what's up Jack?
Jack: Are you good?
Chloe: Yeah, I'm fine!
Mackenzie: Hey, have some small talk...
Jack: So... Anything good--
Jack: Oh.
Chloe and Bluey were busy chatting, not answering Jack.
Jack doesn't even feel jealous anymore. He also started to feel sad.
Rusty: Oh... its alright Jack... You can still talk to us...
Jack: Nah, I'm good... thanks Rusty.
The five dogs took a small stroll around eastern Brisbane going to many buildings and taking pictures.
However, these pictures involved Jack not having a clear smile. Instead, he keeps making a smile when he shrugs ; definitely not a happy one.
Jack became more jealous and upset as Chloe starts to talk more with Bluey.
Despite that, he was loyal to his crush so he did not disturb her.
At 3:30pm, everyone got tired of walking. So, they decided to head to the Botanic Gardens, where they could sit down on the grass.
During the walk back to the Botanic Gardens, Mackenzie asked a question.
Mackenzie: Hey Jack?
Jack: What Mackenzie?
Mackenzie: I have a question that I wanted to ask.
Jack: Um... alright then... what is your question that you want to ask?
Mackenzie: Do you want Chloe to be your girlfriend?
Jack took a sip of water when he asked that question ; making him almost spit it out.
Jack: What?!?! Are you insane?!
Mackenzie: No? I was just asking.
Jack: Well, that couldn't happen... Chloe doesn't even like me that much.
Rusty: But, be honest, do you really want her to be your girlfriend?
Jack: I... uh... yes...
Rusty: Dang bro... that's surprising.
Mackenzie: One day bro... don't worry... it'll happen one day.
Jack: If you say so, alright then...
After lots of steps, the teenage dogs arrived at the garden, sitting down.
Bluey: Wow, the view is nice, isn't it Chloe?
Chloe: Yeah, its stunning!
Jack then added this.
Jack: Not as stunning as you.
Chloe: What?
Jack: I... meant... something else...
Chloe: Okay...
Jack: *whispers* That was so stupid...
Mackenzie: Its good bro, she'll understand...
The day for Chloe got better but for Jack, it got worse.
Jack brought two ice creams for him and Chloe but she and Bluey already bought ice creams.
Then, he picked up tulips for Chloe but Bluey gave her loads of orchids and roses.
It feels like Bluey and Chloe really are true best friends. But he said that she is Jack's best friend, right?
It was almost 5:00pm, Rusty already left to have his footy practice with Lucky.
Jack: *sigh*
Mackenzie: What's wrong Jack?
Jack: I wish Bluey didn't come... now I couldn't talk to Chloe.
Mackenzie: Dang... this date is not going well for you huh?
Jack: Yes... its going horribly...
Then Bluey gave her a drink from a nearby drink stall and also gave one to Mackenzie.
Bluey: Here you go Chloe!
Chloe: Oh thanks Bluey!
Mackenzie: You got one for me Bluey?
Bluey: Sure did! Sorry Jack, I couldn't find anymore drinks, they were all sold out.
Jack: Its okay...
Mackenzie: You can have mine...
Then, Bluey gave Chloe another snack. A cookie.
Jack, feeling jealous, absolutely lost it.
Jack: Mackenzie. I'm done.
Mackenzie: Wait, Jack where are you going--
Mackenzie: Jack! Come back!
Jack was too jealous already. He couldn't stand it anymore. He cycled away from the three dogs with Mackenzie chasing him from behind.
Bluey: Wait, where is he going?!
Chloe: Jack! Come back!
But, Jack was too far away. With the speed he cycled on his bike, having an accident will be highly likely to happen.
Then, Jack accidently hit a tree, injuring his arms and head.
Mackenzie: Dude, where are you-- Oh my god! Jack!
Bluey: Jack!!!
Chloe: *gasps* Jack!!!
Jack laid down, groaning in pain. Thankfully, he wasn't badly injured.
Somehow, Bluey brought out bandages and placed them on his wounds from the impact. The bike was messed up, no longer usable.
Mackenzie: Bro? Are you alright?
Jack: I- I don't even know anymore... Just leave me alone...
Jack walked towards the metal fence looking in the river down below.
Bluey: Did I talk to you a bit too much?
Chloe: I think so...
Mackenzie: Chloe... Go talk to him... he hasn't talked to you for 2 hours.
Chloe: Okay...
Chloe walked towards Jack, who looked completely emotionless.
Chloe: Jack? Everything alright?
Jack: N-no...
Chloe: Did I do something wrong?
Jack: I've never gotten to talk to you because you and Bluey have been chatting too much.
Chloe: Oh, I'm sorry...
Jack: Also, earlier, I complimented you earlier.
Chloe: Oh... I see...
Jack: But this hangout... was never a hangout...
Chloe: What do you mean?
Jack: I- wanted to take you out on a--
Chloe: Date? You wanted to take me out on a date?
Jack: *sniffs, looks at her and tears up* Yes... but I never wanted to say that as I don't want this to affect our friendship.
Chloe: It won't...
Jack: But, I have to admit something...
Chloe: Yeah? What's that...
Jack: I... I have a crush on you...
Chloe: *blushes* Y-you do?
Jack: *sniff* Yes... but I never wanted to say that.
Jack stood there at rock bottom. He knew he screwed up. He thought, his friendship with Chloe was over on their date.
Chloe: I... felt the same too...
Jack: What? You did?
Chloe: I did... but I was also afraid to admit it. I kept chatting to Bluey because of how I should confess to you. And even though I had a missed opportunity, you told me.
Jack: But, I thought about us not being best friends after you kept talking with her.
Chloe: That would never happen. We are still best friends! Right?
Jack: Actually... I was wondering... wait...

Mackenzie: Hey Jack?
Jack: What Mackenzie?
Mackenzie: I have a question that I wanted to ask.
Jack: Um... alright then... what is your question that you want to ask?
Mackenzie: Do you want Chloe to be your girlfriend?
Rusty: But, be honest, do you really want her to be your girlfriend?
Jack: I... uh... yes...

Jack: I wanted to be more than friends... I want you to be my girlfriend. Will you?
Chloe was completely speechless. Friendships to hangouts to compliments have brought them to this moment. One answer, could change everything.
Chloe thought of the times that Jack was there for her, when it comes to sudoku and the Speed Day Competition.
But... what will she say?
Chloe: Umm... uhh...
Jack: Oh... I guess I messed up big time.
Chloe: Yes!
Jack: What? You said yes? As you are now my girlfriend?
Chloe: I appreciated so many things about you like how much you supported me during tests, sports and many numerous things that I want to add.
Chloe: Aside from Bluey, you are a very nice guy to be around! I developed feelings for you that way... so... yeah. I want to be your girlfriend.
Bluey: Aww...
Mackenzie: That's adorable.
Jack: Last thing to say... I... I...
Jack: I love you Chloe...
Chloe: *blushes* I love you too...
Bluey and Mackenzie went towards them feeling elated for them.
Jack held Chloe's hand and brought her closer to him. As the breeze of wind gets stronger, the two pulled them closer to each other, closing their eyes and having a lovely kiss.
Bluey couldn't hold her tears as her best friend experienced love. Mackenzie was having a huge smile towards them even taking a picture of the two lovebirds.
Afterwards, he sent the picture to the class group, saying: He nailed it.
After that, Chloe and Jack separated after a while, feeling happy.
At the end of the day, Jack laid in his bed, remembering that date that he had in Brisbane.
Immediately, everyone saw the picture.
From Indy to Rusty to Lucky to basically everyone in their class. They gave out hearts and thumbs ups and positive comments about the two now finally dating.
