Chapter 5 (Ascension): Aftermath of the madness

AN: Shorter chapter to describe the impact of the last two chapters for Alexia.

Three weeks later

The Rodríguez house

Three weeks passed since the whole earthquake disaster in not just in Guadalajara but the entire Jalisco region with the large number of damage to the region which would take months if not years to rebuild. But that wasn't what got to Alexia it was all the death counts that were confirmed.

The deaths that she caused.

The people that she killed.

Because of the destruction that was caused in the city added with the fact that she had basically destroyed the entire school and with the whole her having power thing including the ability to read people's minds, Alexia decided it would be a good idea not to really leave her home for the moment.

Speaking of which ever since she returned back from that whole mess she created, the only person that Alexia really talked to was Cortana since she didn't have a physical body, so Alexia didn't have to worry about hurting her.

The rest of her siblings would try to talk to her face to face but Alexia would always refuse with the only way she speaks to them being by phone but even then, it wasn't really long conversations with the only conversations that could be considered long once's being with Carlos and maybe Leo sometimes.

The only conversations that were not long once's or even happening at all are with her father… no with David since after he told her the truth about her being an alien, she's refused to see or talked to him. Alexia just couldn't let go of the fact that people died because she didn't know.

Alexia just couldn't forgive that fact blood was on her hands with power that she didn't know she had, and that David did and those injections that were supposed to be medication (which also hurt like hell!) were actually just blocking her powers.

And speaking of her powers…

Alexia would hear members of her family's mind from time to time which caused her a headache but since it looks like the less people, she's around the easier it is for her to handle it and control it to a certain extent.

When it comes to her having super strength and super speed, she tested both out with her strength coming from when she lost her phone underneath her bed, she managed to surprise herself by lifting her bed up one handed like it was a paperweight along with the occasion where she got angry and crushed the remote in her hand like it's plastic. And when it came to her speed, she almost made Usain Bolt looked slow because she went from the kitchen in the house because of her making a sandwich to when she heard David coming into her bedroom in just under a second.

Alexia also noticed that her body was super durable because when she was busy cutting some vegetables, she accidently cut herself but there was no blood as the knife was nearly broken in half as her body was almost like steel.

When it came to her other abilities, there would be time that her ability to blast some form of energy out of her body would activate when she got too emotional mostly mad. There were a few occasions where that power acted out and at this point it was more annoying than it was scary to her anymore. The ability to create earthquakes on the other hand did as there were times that she would get to mad or scared, and she would cause the house to vibrate thankfully she managed to calm herself down just before any real damage can happen. Same thing with her ability to make things levitate, where things would randomly start flying around all other the place but again that was mostly when she was angry, upset or something.

Along with that when she did get nosebleed and she saw that her blood was blue it took time for her to get used to it but when she did it still took time for her to get use to her not having red blood and that she was an alien.

Though Alexia definitely not changing her name back to Li Marr otherwise she been asked a lot of questions and given attention that she wouldn't be able to stand added to the fact that Alexia stand and she would be given attention to something other than her height.

Another thing that Alexia noticed was that every time that came into contact with anything that was electrical, she felt some kind of power enter inside of her that made her feel even more powerful then she already was, and it made her feel so good but then Alexia would immediately remove her hand from whatever she was holding and try and distance herself from the thoughts that she just had.

Alexia didn't know how to feel about having superpowers…

On one hand it scared her to no end. She saw the amount of destruction that she had caused, the amount of deaths that she had caused. And that was just by accident. She was terrified to think what she could be able to do if she was able to fully control her powers and the amount of destruction that she would cause.

But on the other hand, a much smaller and more darker side of her loved the powers and how it felt inside of her. For a good majority of her life especially in her life in school she was always being bullied, bullied for being too tall for a girl, for being very shy or because of that 'incident' that happened when she did gymnastics.

Internally it always caused an anger to grow inside of her so that now she had powers in made part of her want to get payback on everyone who ever treated the way that they did and show them. Despite her tall height, Alexia always had a always been surprisingly weak physical to the point that people who she was quite a bit taller then could outpower her from time to time.

But now… now she felt powerful and invincible.

And the darker side of her loved that.

"No! Stop thinking those thoughts!" Alexia said to herself harshly trying not to let this tempt her and turn her into something she's not.

This caused her to unintentionally levitate some stuff in her room before her body realised a large amount of energy which sent everything flying and things that were really close to her almost disintegrated.

When Alexia saw the damage, she took a deep breath to calm down.

Overall when it came to these powers, she didn't know how to feel, first she feared them but now… now she wasn't so sure.

Alexia then heard knocking on her door (Which was a pain to have to repair) and usually Alexia didn't answer the door because of her not wanting to speak to anyone and she knew that even without opening who was behind it.

She knew because of her being able to read his mind and also by process of elimination.

"Alexia it's me can I come in?" Leo's voice sounded across the door.

She knew that Carlos was out with the twins who were tired of being held inside because safety reasons with Carlos taking Cortana with him, David was out helping with the whole refugees that homes she destroyed.

So she knew that Leo was still in.

"What do you want Leo?" Alexia knew she sounded a bit rude in how she might have worded it, but she didn't really care.

"I was going out and I want you to come with." Leo told her.

Alexia raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, I'll come and risk blowing up a whole building or maybe send people flying with my mind." Alexia responded sarcastically.

Leo knew that Alexia was scared of losing control of her powers but hiding wasn't going to help with it, "I understand that you scared but hiding away isn't going to make things better."

"And what if I end up hearing too many voices in my head all at once and I lose control again?" Alexia asked him.

"That's when you were at school, we're only going over to the park where at this time of day, there be hardly be anyone around." Leo explained to her.

Alexia was hesitant because of not wanting to hurt anyone but at the same time she did want to get out of the house, and she did know that at this time of the day that most would probably be at home by now, but she was still worried.

"I know but…" Alexia was cut off by Leo, "Alexia if things get too intense for you then we're leave but staying in your room all day is not healthy for you so please." Leo pleaded to her worried for his big sister.

Alexia sighed and knew that was true so after debating it back and forth in her mind she made her decision.

"*Sigh* just wait in the living, I need to get change." Alexia told him which he agreed and went down to the kitchen.

'I hope I know what I'm doing.' Alexia thought to herself as he got changed.

Alexia changed from her pyjamas into a light blue hoodie with a white shirt underneath along with her also having baggy blue jeans, she also grabbed some joggers and after tying her hair into bun with her putting on a black baseball cap.

After getting change she went down stairs to her younger brother who was wearing a white sleeveless shirt with black jeans and him wearing some red shoes canvas shoes as he was waiting.

He looked up from the game that he was playing on his phone and asked, "Finally, you ready?" He asked.

"I wasn't that long and yes. But only for a little while." She told him which he nodded.

As the two left not knowing what they were walking to.

AN: Shorter chapter this time but I promise that the next one will be longer I just want this story to have a nice steady pace without rushing things.
