"Claire, when this is over, I think we will never come back here. I didn't expect our vacation time to be ruined by going to court by hitting a lawyer's car," Mr. Johnson said.

"I agree with you, but like the police said, this will be worth sharing with our friends when we come back."

"For sure. No doubt about that," he agreed.

"They will ask how vacation time went, and we'll share this story. Sorry we couldn't have Mr. Mason as our lawyer."

"I know. I think he didn't sound very nice when he came over here with that other lawyer."

"More serious is how I would describe him."

"That's a perfect way to describe him. I wonder what it's like working with someone like him."

"If we did work for him, we would have found out."

Their lawyer stopped by to check in on them.

"I couldn't help listening in to the conversation, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. I would definitely agree this will be a vacation time story that is worth it," he said. coming to their cell.

"We didn't know you were going to show up," Thomas Johnson said.

"I decided to come by and share some stuff with you."

"About what?" she asked.

"Mr. Mason and that car of his."

"We were talking about that too, sir," he said.

"Tell us what you know," she added.

"He seems to be doing a bit better, but one day at a time. He is still curious to see what the car looks like, but they won't let him yet. I agree with him and his lawyer that you both pay them and for the car. Does that sound fair to you?"

"Thanks for the update. Good to hear Mr. Mason is doing better. What else does he remember seeing us drive over the speed limit?" Mr. Johnson asked.

"I haven't heard much of anything yet. His memory is starting to come back, but like I mentioned one day at a time. I think he still may not drive for a while longer after this whole thing is over. The doctor is still working on that now with Mr. Mason's private investigator. I think there was a little tour at the garage where the car is staying with the investigator and the doctor."

The lawyer continued.

"Even I spoke with his doctor about this and he agrees paying for it. We still need to come up with the price you will have to pay. Do you understand?" Mr. Hutchinson asked.

"Yes. He talked with us himself earlier when we first came in for vacation time. We really can't remember the number he came up with," Thomas said.

"Do we get to see Mr. Mason anytime soon?"

Hutchinson looked at his watch.

"Recess is over in ten hours, so you will have to wait until then. I do have a question for you," he continued.

"What's that?" Thomas asked.

"Did you pay attention to who besides you and Mr. Mason were hit?"

"No, we didn't. Mason was the only one, I think," she answered.

"Claire, I think I saw a brown truck that got close to hitting his car as well. I guess you didn't pay much attention," he said to his wife.

"Looks like we're getting somewhere, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. We will have to ask Mr. Mason that question as well tomorrow if he remembers seeing a brown truck before he passed out. The could give him something to remember. Thanks for the information, Thomas. I'll go see if I am allowed to see Mason myself."

Then he left the Johnsons.

Before Hutchinson left, Claire spoke up.

"Mr. Hutchinson?"

He turned around.

"Yes?"

"Where did you get all of the information about Mr. Mason you just shared?"

"Don't think so," Claire answered.

"But thanks for updating us," she added.

"You are welcome. If I find anything new between now and ten - thirty, I will come over again. But the price of Mr. Mason's car might go higher than what he thought of before when he saw you. We'll keep talking about it," Hutchinson said.

"How does our car look?" Thomas asked.

"It looks okay, but not badly damaged like Mr. Mason's car is. This is why he hasn't been able to see it quite yet. There are many reasons why Mr. Mason passed out the other day or two. We still need to figure that out."

"Have you worked with Mr. Mason before?" Claire asked.

"Once or twice. He's pretty serious about his cases. More than any of us who are like him. Trust me. When the price you pay is agreed, then three of you can look at the car yourself."

"I think I remember seeing that truck who hit us mostly was going in his direction, not us," Thomas added.

"Did you pay attention to see if the person driving the truck was older or mid or younger age?" Hutchinson asked.

"I was able to catch the license plate number, Mr. Hutchinson."

"Did you take a close look at Mason's license plate number?"

"No," Claire answered.

"These questions will be asked tomorrow. Understand?"

Both of the Johnsons nodded.
