Welcome back to A Song Of Spiders And Dragons. Last time, after locking up Shocker again, our terrific trio received a report from Yuri that the Demons were attacking Fisk properties all over NYC. The only one they hadn't hit, a shipyard in Portside. The trio sets out for it, with Yuri sending an officer named Jefferson Davis in as backup, and it turns out that Spyro and Cynder know him! So, how's this going to go? Read on to discover...
(Our tale opens in chaos, as Fisk's thugs are frantically moving to clear up their operations before they're discovered.)
Fisk Thug: Listen up! The Demons are moving in on all our caches! We've lost two tonight already. The boss may be in lockup, but that doesn't mean the hardware's up for grabs! Comm check, Eagle, are you ready?
Sniper: Eagle 2 in position, eyes on.
(And at this point, our trio of heroes arrives, hiding in the shadows.)
Spider-Man: What are these guys guarding anyways?
Spyro: I don't know, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that neither Fisk nor the Demons should possess it.
Cynder: Agreed. Better take out the guards and secure the place. Preferably by starting with the snipers all over the place.
(And with that, the trio set to work, taking out the snipers first, before moving on to the ground patrols. And within a few minutes, all of Fisk's men are down, just as an NYPD squad car rolls up, allowing the lone officer to exit just as the trio regroups)
Jefferson Davis: You know we can't have vigilantes trespassing or doing illegal searches, right?
Spider-Man: Yeah, I know...
Jefferson Davis: That's why I brought a warrant. (Looks at the rest of his company) Well, well, aren't you two a sight for sore eyes!
Spyro: Good to see you too, Jeff.
Cynder: It's been so long! How're Rio and Miles doing? It's been way too long since we've seen you guys.
Jefferson Davis: Family's doing great. I see you two are up to the same old same old.
Spyro: Just doing what we do best.
Cynder: I assume you've met our newest partner.
Jefferson Davis: Can't say I've had the pleasure. And you are?
Spider-Man: Uh...
Jefferson Davis: Just messing with you. My son's a huge fan. But, enough with the handshakes and how-do-you-dos. What do you say we get down to some reasonable search and seizure.
Cynder: You had me at "reasonable"
Spyro: Let's get to work.
Spider-Man: So, that warrant cover busting down doors?
Jefferson Davis: Not without a lot of paperwork.
Spider-Man: Looks like we're going to need to find another way in. A place this dilapidated usually has a broken window or hole in the wall somewhere.
Jefferson Davis: Best course of action, we split up. I'll check for a way to open the door...
Spyro: And the rest of us will check the other faces of the building.
Cynder: Give a shout if you find anything!
(And with that, our now quartet splits up and examines all faces of the building, but it's Spider-Man, checking the rear of the building, who finds something)
Spider-Man: These guys did a good job of armoring the front door... (Spies a vent) But they didn't bother with the back.
(With that, Spider-Man slings into the vent before giving a call out)
Spider-Man: I found a way in!
Spyro: Nice work, Spidey. Where is it?
Spider-Man: Air vent around back. I'm already inside! Feels like a horror movie in here. Just waiting for a fisherman with a grudge and hook hand to pop up and rip my spleen out.
Cynder: That's... disturbing.
Spider-Man: I'm at the front door, and doing everything I can to refrain from knock-knock jokes. You and Jeff out there?
Jefferson Davis: (As Spyro and Cynder rejoin him) We are, and appreciate the restraint.
Spider-Man: Got eyes on the junction box.
Jefferson Davis: If we can overload it, that should open the door.
Spider-Man: I don't have anything that packs enough current. And it looks like the wiring on this thing is really screwed up.
Cynder: Screwed up how?
Spider-Man: For some reason its wired to receive voltage from the outside and the inside. No idea why they did that, unless Electro was on the payroll once.
Jefferson Davis: Take this, it'll help on the inside. (Slides a taser under the door)
Spider-Man: Stun gun. Good call. Been thinking about an upgrade like this for a long time.
Spyro: I'll supply the requisite charge from the outside. You ready?
Spider-Man: (Finishes tinkering) Ready as I'll ever be. On my mark. (Aims his web shooters at the junction box) Now!
(With that, Spyro supplies an electrical charge into the box as Spider-Man shoots the junction box with electric webs, forcing the door to open)
Spider-Man: Open Sesame.
Jefferson Davis: So you're a gadget man, eh? Huh, just like my son. Kid was taking apart the TV when he was five. Now he's bypassing security on smartphones.
Spider-Man: Sounds like he could teach me a couple of things.
Cynder: Let's save the chit-chat for later. We've got some searching to do.
(And as the quartet stares down the shipyard and what secrets lie within, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. So, they're in the shipyard now. What secrets hide within it's abandoned depths? Hopefully no vengeful hook-handed fishermen. But for the specific answers, be sure to tune in next time! Same time... same channel!
