In the modern day of the 21st Century, within Royal Woods, Michigan, at the Loud House, Lisa was in her room working on of her newest inventions…one that hopefully doesn't end in disaster…or the near destruction of her family, like last time. She made sure that nothing like that would happen this time around in accordance with her new design. The only downside was that there was bug in the programming that she couldn't seem fix, regarding a spike in the energy source she used.
Just what exactly was this miraculous machine she's working on, you may be asking?
Lincoln:"(walks by) Lisa, what are you working on?"
Lisa:"It's my new and improved Time Machine."
Yep, the one thing that nearly wiped her entire family from existence. And she's working on a new version. Again. Much to the dismay of her brother.
Lincoln:"(sighs) Lisa, we talked about this. You aren't allowed to work on Time Machine, Black Hole Generators, or cloning technology. Speaking of which, can you explain why a clump of my hair is gone?"
Lisa:"(nervous smile) Nnnnnooooo….? And please trust me on this, male sibling. I had designed it so that the chances of a time paradox will be at an all time low. So rest assured, we will not fade from existence this time."
Lincoln:"Right. Anything different about this one that makes sure of this?"
Lisa:"Well, there's a bit of a glitch in the design that not only sends the user back in time, but everyone within its radius. And there's a chance that they'll be oblivious to the change."
Lincoln:"…How big is the radius, exactly?"
Lisa:"…Worldwide."
Knowing that this needed to be stopped for Lisa could complete her project, Lincoln decided to put his foot down.
Lincoln:"Lisa, I'm pretty sure the last thing the world wants is to relive certain eras where historical events are redone. This needs to stop. Shut down this project of yours and dismantle that thing!"
Lisa:"But, Lincoln-"
Lincoln:"I mean it! No more time travel!"
Seeing that her brother was serious, Lisa sighed in defeat and forced herself to comply. Turning back to the machine, she gave it a sad look before getting to work on shutting it down.
Lisa:"It's truly a shame, but I acknowledge my elder brother's frustration. I have no choice but to comply."
Taking a part of the machine she had yet to install, she was about to throw it away…when she tried and let go of the piece.
Lisa:"Oof!"
The piece wound up flying from her hands and landing perfectly into its spot on the machine, which began to power itself on. Lisa watched in shock as she did the one thing she was told not to do.
Lisa:"This wasn't supposed to happen."
It was too late to stop it as the machine then activated and began sending the world back in time.
Second, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years…
Two decades and few more years moved back as the year was now 2000. Royal Woods changed to becoming a little more…Baller. The houses and buildings looked a little more…brand new, as if they were just starting to kick off, and some seemed to just fade away, as if they'd yet to exist. The Loud House itself changed too, the house itself looking and feeling more brand new, like when the parents only hand 6 kids to worry about.
And the kids? They definitely got into the style of post 20th century. While she was in her room, Lori was having an online chat with her boyfriend, Bobby, on her laptop, when the Time Machine took its effect.
Lori:"(giggles) I'm really hoping to see you some time, Bobby."
Bobby:"(via laptop) Yeah. Me too, Babe."
But this changed to Lori now on a flip phone. And she herself changed in looks, with her large blond hair now styled in side-swept do, her ears no longer pierced, and while her tank top remained the same, her brown shorts became slacks and her slip on shoes became uggs. She was oblivious to the change as she went on.
Lori:"Can't wait for you to be here, Beau! It's been sketchy as of late around here."
Bobby:"(via phone) I hear ya, Baby. But don't you worry. We'll get to chill all weekend when I be there."
While Lori was fawning over her boyfriend over the phone, Leni was coming down the hall.
The Time Machine had her effect on her too as her sea foam green dressed changed to now a three piece attire, with her wearing a with shortsleeved shirt under a sea foam, Diamond striped sweater vest, a forest green skirt, and white socks that went up to her knees with dark green penny loafers. She also had a white bag around her shoulder as her sunglasses and hoop earrings were gone, with her hair out of its bangs and now brushed back with two tendrils in the front.
Leni:"I gotta get ready for the mall. Fiona's got some fetch new designs to show me!"
Meanwhile, in her room was Luna, where she was working on some new songs with her guitar.
Luna:"Whoo! This track is gonna be rockin'! Yeah!"
As the times moved back, Luna changed from her lively rocker self to a more metal loving punk, as her pixie cut changed to a a shorter Bob cut with purple dye in two strands, a pale purple crop top replacing her purple skull shirt, her plaid skirt being replaced with baggy grey pants. All her accessories were gone, and her lips were painted purple as she now held a scowl on her face as she listened to some metal music on a stereo system.
Luna:"Yeah, this music is sick. Better than the techno stuff some neeks have been makin'. Just wish my fam had the same fast as me."
Luan:"(peaking her head through the door) Well, if you want us to have your taste, trying cooking for dinner. Haha! Get it?!"
The now metal punk Luna glared at her joker of her sister, Luan, who was changing herself as the clock spun back on her. Her hair was not out of its high ponytail was now in a bun while the rest of it at shoulder length. Her white shirt with joke flower and yellow skirt was replaced with an orange blouse with a sunflower pattern and she was wearing black shirt tights, along with yellow sandals on her feet. The only other accessory she had was a black choker at her neck as she was oblivious to the change. She was still the joker was in the present/future.
Luan:"Cookin' for dinner. That was a good one. But at least Luna's like a tectonic plate, cause she rocks out world! Whoo!"
And while on her room, the Loud Jock Lynn Jr, was looking through some of her sports equipment as she holds up one of her baseball bats.
Lynn:"Got keep on practicing if I'm gonna stay on top of my game."
As the clock spun backwards on her, she really didn't change that much. Her ponytail stayed the same while her clothes became different; her jersey, gym shorts, and knee socks were all replaced with snow gear, a winter jacket, sky trousers and boots. Appearing around her head were earmuffs and ski goggles as her bat was replaced with a snow board.
Lynn:"There's no doubt that I gotta keep shredding down jibs with each kicker. Gotta send it, not slam it and I'll be rockin on cloud 9!"
Moving onto the only brother in the family, Lincoln was in his room playing online games. After that ultimatum he gave Lisa, he needed to cool off in one of the best ways he knows how.
Lincoln:"Going a couple of rounds on Savana Warfare is paying off! Prepare to get decimated!"
But online gaming would cease to be for Lincoln as he found himself playing more retro games on old school consoles. As for his new, or should I say old look, his orange polo shirt was replaced with a button shirt in a darker shade of orange, and with what looks like a picture of a dragon with flame in the front. His jeans became grey loose pants that went down to his newly turned orange creps. And as for his hair, no longer was it was combed to the side with a tuft sticking up in the back. Instead, it was all spiked upward with orange highlights at the tips.
His online game was replaced with a handheld gaming console, made in orange and he was playing old school computer games on it. Some included cartoon violence and 64 bit graphics.
Lincoln:"These games are so realistic! I can't wait to play them all with my friends! Hmm…wonder if Lisa's shut down that gizmo of hers. I should go check."
And while he pauses the game and heads out the door, he fails to notice that in the vents, the most gothic of his sisters, Lucy, was coming out and with her notepad. Only she was barely able to notice the sudden changes that was making everyone seem different…and she decided to make a poem out of this.
Lucy:"Tock-tick. The passage of time turns back. The view of the world might turn white and black-"
But it didn't take long before the reversal of time took its effect on her as well, as her long hair grew to be messier, especially more on the right side, and as for her clothes, her black dress, top and stockings were replaced with a long sleeve black shirt with the work "Slipknot" on it, written in red, and ripped black pants with studs on the side and covering her feet. The last thing was that her lips were painted black to match the rest of her attire as she completed her poem.
Lucy:"But that's okay. For my time is nigh. My people can thrive, like the call of crows echoing in the sky. For so long as present is taken to the past, new miracles will be experienced and be bound to last…"
In the Twin's bedroom, Lana and Lucy were doing their usual things, the tomboy caring for each of her pocket pets while the self proclaimed queen worked on her next act of her pageant.
Lola:"What do you think, Lana? Should go for another classic ribbon dance, or something new?"
Lana:"I don't know. Pageants aren't exactly my thing."
Lola:"Right. What was I thinking? Hmm…Oh! I've always wanted to try and sing."
And that's when their style shifted back to the start of the century, as Lana's overalls and red cap were replaced with a white shirt with long green sleeves, a pair of pants and brown shoes, and a brown beanie. Her pigtails were longer and were smoother. As for Lola, her pageant dress was replaced with a shorter one that showed off her lower legs and sandals that replaced the heels she wore. Her hair was now styled with two upward buns with her hair semi-parted at the front, and a gold necklace replaced the Pearl one she had as she held up a microphone.
Lola:"I definitely got the pipes to sing my heart out! I'll be a shoe in to win!"
Lana:"Alright. As long as you're having fun, let your freak flag fly for all I care."
Lola gave her twin a sour look before going back to rehearsal. Finally back in Lisa's bedroom, the young genius got up after being blindsided by that flash. She was looking to see her machine finally powering down and her room was looking rather different; some of her scientific tools were in different places, others were just not there.
Lisa:"Did it…actually work?"
She then looked to see herself. Wasn't a big change, but her sweater was in a darker shade of green, her pants were now brown and grey shoes. She took off her glasses to see that they were more like goggles now, having a green tint on the lenses. Knowing that something was seriously wrong, she looked around to see something she could use to analyze and that's when she noticed something on her table. Climbing up a stool, she looked to see that it was iMac Desktop Computer, and not a modern one. Based on its transparency and box design, she could tell that she was looking at a G3 model. After waiting impatiently for the thing to boot up, Lisa wasted no time using it for her analysis, hoping the obsolete computer doesn't malfunction while she's using it.
Lisa was considered a genius, but it considered her that she knew how to use this type of computer, given that it's technically her first time using a model like this. But that's not what her mind was saying right now.
By the time she was finished analyzing what had happened, the results frightened out.
Lisa:"Oh this is bad. The year is 2000. It would seem as if the machine reversed the course of history and transported all of us to this point of time. Yet, based on my room and my clothing, I'd say it's a possibility that we had been "adjusted" to better suit this timeline. So now, we're officially living in it…!"
Trying her best not to panic, Lisa almost immediately got to work on trying to find a way to reverse this…when a knock on her open down startled her and sharply turned to see the now 2000s styled Lincoln holding Lily in his arm. Even Lily changed, if not only a little bit; the tuft of blonde hair on her head was calmed down in front of her head and she was wearing a purple sleeveless, legless onesie.
Lincoln:"Heya, Lis. You alright? You look kinda…freaked out."
Lisa:"Uh…fine, brother. Just…doing a little…research."
Lincoln:"You did turn off that machine like I told you to, right?"
Lisa:"Y-Yes! Yes, I was getting to that."
Lincoln:"Right. Well, I'm just gonna put Lily back in her crib. Finish up what you're doing and be ready for dinner, kapeesh?"
Lisa:"Yep! Got it! Crystal clear!"
While he put his baby sister in her crib, Lincoln gave Lisa a confused look and nod before heading back out. Lisa set out a sigh of relief as she got back to her computer. Unfortunately, this couldn't get any worse; as it said the machine needed time to recalibrate before it could be used again.
Lisa:"(sighs) I'll just have to wait it out, act like everything is normal before I can send us back to the correct time. At least none of us will be fading from existence this time. And I must admit, it's curious to see how my family will be like in this decade. Hopefully, the course of history won't be altered by this…"
This was heavily inspired by some artwork on Deviantart. The Artist is named KrDoz, and they are good at designing the Louds look like how they would have in the past decade/century.
This might be a short story, depending on where I go with it. Figuring it out as I go with describing everyone, how the talk in the past lingo and what kind of scenarios they would be in at the decade they're in.
If anyone has any ideas for what should happen back in time, I'm all for it.
Until then, keep reading.
