The Ghost Boy and the Monster Girls
Chapter 1: The Discovery
When Monster High student Cleo De Nile asked her ghoulfriends to meet her, they could tell she sounded worried. "What's wrong, Cleo?" Clawdeen Wolf asked.
"Do you remember the guest lecturer who came to Monster High yesterday?" Cleo asked.
"Hotep RA, the mummy ghost." Frankie Stein replied.
"Moan." A zombie girl stated.
"Exactly, Ghoulia." Cleo replied. "Back when he was a living normie, he used to serve Pharaoh Duulaman. What he didn't say is that my father tried to arrange a marriage between Duulaman and me."
"And why does it worry you now?" Lagoona Blue asked.
"Because Hotep RA said he was cursed to stay within his sarcophagus until Pharaoh Duulaman or someone who looked like him looked at the mirror in the sarcophagus." Cleo answered.
"From what Hotep RA said, it was a normie who happens to look like Duulaman." A ghost named Spectra Vondergeist said.
"A normie that managed to command a sphinx even without Duulaman's scepter." Cleo pointed out. "If Nefera or my father hear about this, they might try to force me to marry that normie and I don't want to leave my Deuce."
"What can we do to help?" Draculaura asked her mummy friend.
"According to Hotep RA, this supposed reincarnation of Pharaoh Duulaman lives in Amity Park and is friends with the infamous manster Danny Phantom." Cleo answered and that was enough for the other ghouls to understand her concerns.
"That ghost who figured out how to look like a teenage normie and picks fights with other ghosts?" Clawdeen asked.
"Moan." Ghoulia Yelps replied.
"Yes, Ghoulia, I know most monsters believe Danny Phantom to be a normie who somehow figured out how to become a ghost without actually dying but I find it hard to believe." Clawdeen argued.
"I agree with Clawdeen." Lagoona added.
"Either way, the main consensus among those who don't believe the same theory Ghoulia does is that Danny Phantom is the spirit of a normie who recently died and still hasn't completely accepted his days as a living normie are over." Spectra stated.
"I can relate." Cleo commented and the other ghouls looked at her. "What? You know I used to be a normie before becoming a mummy. And nobody exactly knows the details of how Danny Phantom died."
"True." Lagoona said and the other nodded.
"Moan?" Ghoulia asked.
"That's right, Ghoulia." Cleo replied. "I wanted to ask for something. Thank you for reminding me. Ghoulfriends, I want to go to Amity Park to check this. Would you come with me?"
When the ghouls went to Amity Park, it was Halloween so they didn't need to disguise themselves. Two mansters were with them: Cleo's boyfriend Deuce Gorgon; and Draculaura's boyfriend (and Clawdeen's brother) Clawd Wolf. "Does anybody here know where the museum is?" Deuce asked.
Spectra looked at her iCoffin and then pointed at a direction. "Good job, Spectra." Draculaura congratulated her friend.
Unbeknownst to the monsters, three normie teenagers overheard them. "Did they say "Spectra"?" Danny Fenton asked his friends.
"Yeah, one of them said." Samantha "Sam" Manson answered.
"There goes our Halloween." Tucker commented. The three of them followed the monsters until they arrived at the museum. "Do you think there's enough space at the Fenton Thermos for all of them?" The techno-geek asked.
"I'm afraid only one of them is a ghost, Tucker." Danny replied and the three of them entered the museum.
To Team Phantom's horror, especially Tucker's, the monsters they were following entered the Egyptian section. "Are they looking for the scepter?" Danny asked, fearing a repeat of the troubles caused by Hotep RA.
As the monsters looked at the mirror and the sarcophagus, Cleo had a sense of familiarity. "Exactly like Hotep RA described it. Now we must find the supposed reincarnation of Duulaman before my father or my sister find him."
"Is this mummy wanting to marry Tucker?" Sam asked in confusion.
"I hope so." Tucker replied, making Danny and Sam glare at him. "What? She looks better than most mummies I ever saw in movies."
"Whatever they want, I'm going to find out." Danny said. "I'm going ghost."
"Did anybody hear it?" Clawdeen asked.
"It what?" Frankie asked in reply.
"So, I've heard you're looking for my friend." Danny Phantom said as he revealed his presence to the monsters in spite of not being sure if he could defeat all of them.
"Yes, it's imperative that we find the boy who claims to be Pharaoh Duulaman reincarnated before my father and my sister find him." Cleo answered with a tone that left no room to doubt.
"Danny Phantom looks more spooktacular than the pictures suggest." Clawdeen Wolf commented.
"So true." Spectra Vondergeist agreed.
"Search no more." Tucker said with a smile and Danny and Sam were surprised he showed up. "My name is Tucker Foley. TF as in Too Fine but you may call me Duulaman."
"I prefer to call you by your current name since I am not sure if you remember anything from your previous life as Duulaman or if you're even his reincarnation instead of someone who simply looks like him." Cleo replied with a tone that reminded Team Phantom of Paulina Sanchez. "And my name is Cleo De Nile." She added since Tucker introduced himself.
"Anyway, what do you want with my friend?" Danny asked.
"I wanted to warn him that my father tried to arrange a wedding between Duulaman and me and might try to set it with your friend." Cleo said. "I want to be reassured he won't try to force me since I love my Deuce even if my father doesn't approve him."
"Don't worry." Tucker said. "I respect the fact you already have a boyfriend." He would've asked if she'd otherwise want something with him but the way Cleo glanced at the gorgon next to her suggested the gorgon to be Deuce. "But what about that sister you mentioned earlier? Is she available?"
"Tucker!" Danny and Sam scolded their friend.
"That is between you and her and even then she and my father might try to force or trick us into a relationship just to split Deuce and I apart." Cleo said. "Until then, goodbye."
Meanwhile, Clawdeen Wolf approached Danny. "Danny Phantom, I can tell you're not used to interacting with monsters who aren't ghosts. My name is Clawdeen Wolf. We could try to know each other better. I don't even know if you're a ghost who can look like a normie or a normie who can turn into a ghost."
"If by 'normie', you mean a human, then I'm a normie who can turn into a ghost." Danny answered, seeing no harm in letting the monsters know that much.
"How's this possible?" Spectra asked, drawing everyone's attention. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Spectra Vondergeist, student of Monster High and a reporter for the Gory Gazette."
'So that's the Spectra I heard them mentioning earlier.' Danny thought. "What's this Gory Gazette you speak of?"
"Oh, it's a column I write for the school." Spectra happily answered and showed an article on a coffin-shaped phone.
'She posts it on the web?' Danny thought in horror. "Actually, I'd rather not say since it might clue people to my identity."
"Would you at least explain why you fight other ghosts?" Spectra asked. "The Monster World would love to finally know the truth."
"Well, I do it because..." Danny was in the middle of answering when something clicked in. "Wait a minute, are you saying I'm famous among monsters who aren't ghosts?"
"Not necessarily famous but you're newsworthy, Danny Phantom." Spectra answered.
Before Danny could reply, Cleo returned. "Bad news!" The mummy exclaimed. "Nefera is here!"
"What does she look like?" Tucker asked, figuring out Nefera is the sister Cleo mentioned before. Cleo then showed a picture of Nefera from her iCoffin. "I hope she can wait until I become an adult."
"And I hope Tucker's more mature by then." Sam muttered.
Nefera then entered the room. "Hello, dear sister." Nefera said. "So, where's Duulaman?"
"The name's Tucker Foley but you may call me anyway you want." Tucker eagerly replied.
Not believing the geek in front of her was Duulaman, Nefera unrolled a piece of parchment with a picture of the late Pharaoh to settle doubts. "And I thought Seth was weird." Nefera commented. "Don't worry, Cleo. Once father sees him, he'll give up on any marriage plans."
"Good." Cleo replied.
"Come on." Tucker pleaded.
"The museum is reaching closing time." Spectra told Danny. "Can we continue our interview elsewhere?"
20 minutes later, they met at the local mall, which surprised the monsters with how similar it was to the Maul they usually went to. "If not for how obviously normie the stores are in spite of being decorated for Halloween, I'd say we're at a Maul back in the Monster World." Frankie commented.
"Moan?" Ghoulia asked.
"Good question, Ghoulia." Cleo said. "I don't see Danny Phantom anywhere but I see his two friends with another normie."
Clawdeen sniffed the air. "That's Danny Phantom. The nose knows."
Meanwhile, Tucker was discussing his findings with his friends. "Danny, I made a web search for "Cleo", "Nefera", and "Egyptian Royalty" and what I found made me surprised they and their father had their bodies to return as mummies instead of returning as ghosts." He said as he showed a file at his PDF.
"Ewwww." Danny said. "I feel sorry for..." His ghost sense interrupted him. "Uh-oh."
"I didn't expect to see you in normie form, Danny Phantom." Spectra commented.
"How did you figure out I'm Phantom?" Danny asked out of worry.
"I did." Clawdeen said. "My nose, actually."
"Be careful if you meet other werewolves." Draculaura said.
"Duly noted." Danny said. "Now, about that interview."
"Sorry, Danny, my viewers cannot be sure it's you when you're like that unless you don't mind your normie form being known to all monsters." Spectra said.
"I understand." Danny said and all introductions were made. Tucker exclaimed "I knew it!" Once Deuce Gorgon's identity was confirmed.
"Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom?" Cleo asked in disdain. "You probably only keep your identity a secret because normies don't suspect you could be a normie and a ghost."
"You're not completely wrong." Danny replied, remembering the time his parents expressed their belief that humans couldn't have ghost powers. "However, the Guys in White aren't that skeptical."
"Who?" Draculaura asked.
"Ghost hunters who work for the normie Government and wear mostly white." Clawdeen said and the monsters seemed more weirded out by the Guys in White's fashion tastes than their goals. "But how do you keep them from finding out, Danny?"
"They think he's too prepubescent to be Phantom." Tucker commented, earning a glare from Danny.
"The hazmat suit makes a manster look less prepubescent." Clawdeen commented.
"There's something I don't understand." Tucker said. "Don't you werewolves look like humans when not under a full moon?"
"That's just some superstition you normies believe about us." Clawdeen replied.
"We're just more powerful during the full moon." Clawd added.
"And, if so many kinds of monsters exist, how is it possible for humans not to know that?" Danny asked.
As the monsters looked among themselves, it was decided Cleo would be the one to tell Danny. "It's understandable you wouldn't know since we monsters have been hidden from normies long enough for you to forget we even exist but, there used to be a time monsters and normies had a peaceful coexistence."
Danny, Tucker and Sam nodded, curious about the idea of humans knowing about the existence of monsters.
"That time ended when normies turned on us and drove us into hiding." The Egyptian Princess continued. "The event became known to monsterkind as "The Great Monster Fright Flight". Some monsters hope for a peaceful coexistence to happen again. Others, not so much."
Danny started becoming worried about those monsters and he couldn't help but notice how similar that was to a comic book series about mutants. However, these thoughts were interrupted by another threat.
"Fenturd."
