The morning light filtered into the room slowly as the sun crested the horizon outside. Nanami groaned softly at the light attempting to breach his eyelids and attempted to roll over. However, he found himself unable to move. He laid on his back in the familiar comfort of his room. The neutral colors soaked in the light and quickly welcomed the morning. Faster than he was prepared to.

The bed was warm. So very warm. He had to pull himself out of the covers so the cold of the room would wake him up. But the room wasn't as cold as usual. And the morning felt so much sweeter than normal. He dragged his free hand down his face, a passing thought asking why he couldn't use his other hand.

The weight on his arm was hard to ignore. For a moment, he wondered why he couldn't pull away and what was there, but as he started to awaken he remembered who was sharing his bed. And a smile pricked at the corners of his lips. He rolled his head to the side, bleary gaze finding the cherry pink hair of Hairi.

Nanami reached over, gently caressing her shoulder and brushing her hair aside. She was in a simple purple tee that appeared well worn, her hips and legs covered in his gray blankets. He watched the light from the window cast a golden glow over her. Silently, peacefully sleeping. Only the rustle of fabric as he moved and the faint sigh of her breath was heard.

He pulled her close to him, pressing her back to his bare chest and wrapping his arm around her. He ghosted his lips over her hair, laying with her and hoping to slip back into sleep.

An alarm on the bedside table rang out, causing both of them to flinch. Nanami huffed and shut it off with unnecessary, annoyed force. Hairi stretched out and yawned, rubbing the sleep from her eyes and staring out of the window.

"Good morning." Nanami said, his low rumble reverberating against her back. She rolled over, unable to adjust her legs because of how tangled they were in his. She met his tired gaze and grinned. A soft giggle escaped her.

"Morning, Kento." she murmured. She dropped an arm overhead, nestling herself against his chest and smiling up at him. He brushed his fingers over her stomach, slipping his hand around her side and hugging her. The embrace was comforting and sweet. He wished he could pull her tighter against him, but he didn't have the energy. Not yet anyway. As much as he wanted to see her flustered, he couldn't bring himself to tease the gentle peace off of her face.

Both hesitated to move. Neither wanting to leave the warmth and comfort of their presence and the bed. Hairi studied him. The way his blond bangs hung over his face, his serene hazel eyes meeting hers, the slight quirk to his lips as he smiled down at her. Their breathing eased into sync. Lovingly gazing at each other.

"How was it?" Nanami broke the silence, brushing his fingertips over her side, "sleeping over." He clarified, lulling his head to one side. Hairi was taken over by another large yawn before she could respond. Nanami chuckled at the cute face she made.

"It was nice. I had you with me," she stretched again, glancing at the smaller pillow resting beside her, "sorry I stole your pillow." She looked aside with a blush of embarrassment. It wasn't his only pillow. They were supposed to have two each, but Hairi was used to sleeping with her stuffed doll that she swiped his in her sleep.

"No need." He shook his head and propped himself up on his arm, hovering over Hairi. She trailed her hand up his arm, grin still apologetic.

"It's okay, Hairi. Honestly."

"I just know it's weird…"

"That doesn't matter. It helps you and makes you happy, that's all that matters." Nanami brushed her hair out of her face, gently caressing her cheek before replacing his arm around her. His eyes lingered on her lips, making her cheeks darken with dusty pink blush. Hairi's words were floating past him as he contemplated silently. Without a word, leaning in and catching her lips with his. The kiss lingered. Fuzzy, warm feelings creeping from their connection all the way through them until Hairi reached up and pulled him closer to her. They only pulled away for a second to wordlessly plead for more, kissing again with more fervor.

He trailed his hand under her shirt. Hairi's skin tingled, her breath hitching slightly as he caressed her stomach and threatened to reach further.

Reluctantly, Nanami pulled away. His breath billowing over her as she fluttered her eyes open.

"Why?" She whined with a pout.

"I have to go to work…" He sighed, carefully taking his arm out from under her and slipping out of bed. Hairi wanted to beg him to stay, but she knew he wouldn't entertain it. He took his work seriously. She rested on her side, watching him longingly. It would be a long day without him.
