Noceda Residence, 2 months before the Wedding.

Luz Noceda was busy with her sister helping her mother with some spring cleaning. "Thanks for the help, girls. I doubt I would be able to do this myself." Camila said as they were cleaning up the attic."No problem mama. You know you can always count on us." Luz said as she was pulling boxes off the shelves."Wow mom you have a lot of stuff up here." Vee said as she moved boxes around."Hey mama you have any idea when the mailman comes around. I'm expecting my advance check." Luz said.

Luz Noceda had recently finished her 1st novel tales of the Owl House. A fantasy book based on her experiences in the demon realm. It didn't take her long to find a publisher interested in the book. Now all that waited was her advance." Mija the mailman should be here in a few minutes. I can't believe my daughter is a published author." Camila said, giving Luz a big hug. "Wow mama I don't think you were this excited when I saved an entire realm from a genocidal madman." Luz said. "It's not that mija it's that unlike this one i can brag to all those people who talked bad about you." Camila said as the sound of the mail truck's engine hummed away."Luz its here its here." Vee shouted as Luz ran down to the entrance hall as she saw Vee holding an envelope from the the envelope from her sister she tore it open.

Looking inside her face was in total shock at the amount."Luz how much did you get?" Vee asked." It's a check for ten thousand dollars." Luz said smiling. "Well mija, what are you gonna do with that money from the publisher." Camila said as the three went into the kitchen for a snack."Isn't it obvious. This money is going to my and Amity's honeymoon." Luz said excitedly." Speaking of that, just exactly where are you two lovebirds going?" Camila said as she made herself a cup of tea. "Well since we are gonna settle down in the demon realm I want to take her somewhere in our world. An environment she has never seen before. A place where I can show her our culture. That's why I want to take her to the Dominican republic." Luz said.

"Mija that sounds nice but you know they don't take well to people like you." Camila said, which sent a gut punch to Luz. "Oh I forgot." Luz said as she was visibly disappointed."But mama I want Amity to experience our wonderful Spanish Caribbean culture." Luz said as she knocked over a box of her fathers belongings revealing a photo album with a certain watchtower. Opening the album she saw many pictures of her father as a child smiling with his family and that's when it hit her. "What about Where dad is from Puerto Rico is super Lgbtq friendly." Luz remarked. "That's wonderful Mija and you can visit your Uncle Hector and your Cousin Luis in Lares." Camila said as Luz took a second to think about it. She had seen her dads family since her high school graduation. Honestly they hadn't kept in touch consistently since her fathers passing. Nonetheless her uncle always sent gifts for christmas and her birthday. Her cousin on the other hand the two had been very close whenever her family would visit them in Puerto rico the two would always get into some kind of mischief . "Your right mama, that is a great idea." Luz said as she envisioned herself and Amity taking in the warm caribbean sun with a cool beverage in their hands working on their tan. "Well Mama if you don't mind but I have a vacation to plan." Luz said as she went over to her laptop to put together the perfect vacation for her and her sweet potato….

The day after the Wedding….

Luz and Amity had finished packing their bags as they climbed aboard the airship for the Owl House. "Amity, you're gonna love the spanish caribbean. The warm sun, the beaches, the music, the people, the food, it's all amazing." Luz said, holding her wife's hand. "I know I'm gonna love it because I'm going with my best friend in the whole world. My loving wife." Amity said, giving Luz a kiss.

"Oh that reminds me I got you something." Luz said as she pulled out a straw hat and put it on Amity's head. "It's a small fedora called a trilby. It gets pretty hot and I don't need the sun burning up your head now do I." Luz said. "Ah thanks Luz. it does look good on me doesn't it." Amity said as Luz nodded."You still have the Id I got you right. Last thing we need is a hassle." Luz said as they pulled up to the owl house."Yes I have it in my bag." Amity said as they were greeted by Eda and King. "Hi guys." Luz said, giving her mentor and her buddy a big hug. "Well it's good to see you before you head off." Eda said. "Well we better get going, our flight leaves in a few hours and the Tsa is a pain." Luz said."Hey, bring me back something to drink. I know they got good booze over there." Eda said as Luz and Amity took their bags off the airship."Of course. I'm bringing back everybody something." Luz said as she waved her friends goodbye as she and Amity made their way through the portal door. On the other side was Camila."Luz Amity you're here good. I have the car ready to drop you off at the airport." Camila said.

"Wait, we're going to the airport." Amity said, slightly nervous. "How else did you think we were gonna get to Puerto Rico?" Luz said."I thought we were gonna use our staffs." Amity said. " Amity, we would risk exposing the demon realm. And don't worry flying in an airplane is perfectly safe. I will hold your hand if you feel uncomfortable." Luz said which seemed to calm Amity down.With that out of the way let's get going." Camila said as they packed into the car and after a 40 mint drive they were at Bradley International Airport. After getting checked in and making their way through the dreaded TSA they were in the waiting area sitting down for the next 30 mins until it was time for their plane to leave. As they sat down a TV was playing CNN. As the two listened to the tv it suddenly began talking about puerto rico. "Puerto Rico,the island of enchantment, a colony of Spain then the United States but is that about to change. Ever since the surprise election of Pro Independence candidate Juan Dalmau of the Puerto Rican independence party to governor in the last election the Island has seen the largest shift towards Independence in recent memory. Following his effective tackling of corruption and his successful slashing of poverty by 65% the Island which was once seen by many as the future 51st state now may become its own independent nation. Following congress passing of the Puerto Rico status act. The Island will hold a vote to decide whether it remains a territory. Becomes a state or an independent nation. Polls which once showed massive support for statehood have flipped showing support for independence has a double digit lead among the population. Though members of the pro statehood new progressive party and the pro commonwealth Popular democratic party have questioned the validity of the polls Governor Dalmau said it was a sign the people of puerto rico were ready to shed the shackles of colonialism. This is Jorge Torres with CNN news." The TV started before it was time to board.Well Amity it's time to board you ready?" Luz asked as AMity took a deep breath before grabbing her hand. "I'm ready." Amity said as the couple boarded the plane and set off for their tropical getaway..

Just to let you know this story will be on a bit of a hiatus bec I am heading out to Puerto Rico myself(Yo soy Boricua) for my 1st time for inspiration on this story so please be patient
