Hello, people.
It's me again, sorry for the late chapter.
it's really action-packed, so buckle up for the ride.
At this point, they were going all out, The Avatar with the avatar state, and the white dragon with the white dragon state, it was an all-out brawl in the middle of the ocean with both men floating above the water.
Aang used the airball to keep himself flying, and keep it up with Berserker's dragon wings that keeps him flying in the air.
The Avatar used the ocean to his advantage as Berserker's powers were only limited to firebending, but the avatar had access to all four elements, so Aang decided to use the thing he had in his advantage.
Berserker kept deflecting Aang's water attacks, as well as his water spouts and massive waves, Aang used everything in his arsenal concerning the water, and Berserker barely deflected it.
Berserker knew it was his doom if he kept fighting Aang out here, so he decided to get the fight back to land, and so he did, with the avatar going after him at high speed.
Katara was fighting alongside Toph and the kyoshi warriors inside Caldera City, she knew they had no advantage whatsoever, maybe just the fact that Azula is nowhere to be found.
But other than that, they were similar in numbers, and in strength, it was hard to tell the outcome of this battle, but Katara was hopeful that they would come out victorious.
She was so worried about one person in particular, and that's her brother Sokka, she hadn't seen him since before Berserker blasted her and Toph into the woods, she wondered how he was doing, and if he's still fighting beside them or…
She decided not to think of the alternative, as it would hurt her so much and put her out of focus.
Katara decided to investigate herself, she asked one of the Kyoshi Warriors beside her.
"Hey. Have you seen my brother?" Katara asked the girl whose name she didn't know, nor did she care to find out at the moment.
"Yes, your brother is in the enemy's custody." The kyoshi warrior responded, both of them taking on a New Ozai soldier.
"He was arrested?!" Katara was shocked by this, he must be in so much pain right now.
"Yes, right after the big blast that took most of the firenation army out, some of us were arrested, including your brother." The girl followed up, as she threw her katana at one of the charging New Ozai soldiers.
Katara thanked her for the information, and made her way towards Toph who was smashing a soldier's head on the ground as she was making her way towards the ocean.
"Toph! Sokka was arrested, we need to find and save him."
"No…" Toph stopped as she said so, making Katara stop dead in her tracks as well.
"What do you mean 'No'?" Katara asked.
"I don't need to find and save him, what I need is to avenge my fallen friends, I'm sorry, Sugar Queen, but you're gonna have to do this on your own." Toph responded.
Katara was shocked by the venom that Toph was spitting out of her mouth, she knew Toph was brutal, but not to this extent, ironically, this is the first time Katara has considered Toph blind, as the earthbending prodigy was blinded by hate and the idea of revenge.
Katara wasn't even angry with Toph, she was just sad to see her friend like this,
"Okay, Toph. You have it your way, I'm going to save my brother." Katara said, as she went a separate way from Toph's.
Suddenly, Toph stopped her, "Katara! Wait!" Toph shouted at her from afar.
Katara stopped and looked at her, thinking she changed her mind.
"Your brother is that way." Toph pointed to the other direction, as she sensed him through her earthbending.
Katara smiled at Toph, there might be hope for her yet, Katara thought.
"Thank you, Toph." The watertribe princess said, as she made her way to the direction that Toph pointed at.
Toph just nodded at her and kept on her rampage, making her way to the ocean to where Aang and Berserker are fighting.
Katara kept dodging and knocking out a lot of firebenders along the way, to make her way to her brother.
Avatar Aang kept chasing Berserker until he finally reached him at the shore, as Berserker touched down on the sand, the avatar used sand-bending to pin the white dragon's legs down, Berserker saw it coming however and so he used his wings to break the sand that has now turned to stone, his wings were very strong that the avatar believed they were made of steel, one touch and they could cut you in half.
The white dragon then used his wings to propel himself up again and he fled to a more secure place atop the mountains, he then launched a huge firebending strike at the avatar, who barely dodged it, when Aang looked back, he found that he barely dodged parted the sea behind him, and vaporized its water, of course the tide helped regaining the missing water, but it would have been it for Aang had that strike touched him.
The Avatar realized how dangerous the white dragon could be and why Avatar Szeto was defeated by him, even one of the strongest avatars in history, Avatar Yangchen, had a rough time fighting him, Aang was a bit hesitated, but he vowed to never let the world down again, he promised Ryu he wouldn't, and so he won't.
Berserker then broke the avatar's thoughts by launching another fire attack, the avatar broke through it, but doing so, his sight was blocked for a second that he didn't see Berserker coming literally from behind him in a flash.
The white dragon didn't just send the fire strike, he used its cover to go around the avatar and corner him into a nearby cliff, Berserker then launches another fire attack at Aang who barely puts his hands up to focus the elemental ball's energy at that specific area, the elemental ball was able to hold the strike momentarily, but it was followed with an even stronger strike that threw the avatar onto the cliff, with the elemental ball completely destroying the cliff.
The Avatar couldn't maintain his energy and so he snuffed out the elemental ball and used air to float instead, he was so low on energy that he kept asking himself why Berserker was very high on energy? It must another mysterious power from the spirit of the white dragon.
Berserker then pushes Aang to the limit that Aang almost thought of giving up his cover, but he couldn't do so as he knew the world depended on him and so he kept holding.
Until Berserker was hit from behind by a boulder.
The boulder crashed onto Berserker's wings, making him lose balance and fall to the ground, Aang was very low on energy that he crawled atop of the cliff and just laid there.
When Berserker looked up from his position on the ground, he found a girl in a green dress that looked really angry, standing a distance away from him, assuming an earthbending stance, he stood up and kept looking at the girl.
"Are you gonna keep gawking at me all day? Come at me, Birdie." Toph taunted.
The white dragon smirked, "You little brat." He said, before he full on launched himself at the earthbender.
Toph then created an earth wall in front of her, she punched the wall repetitively, launching small rocks with every shot to hit Berserker with it.
She felt at a disadvantage since Berserker was flying and she couldn't feel him, but her rage was too blinding for her to think about it beforehand.
Toph decided to play on instinct, so she went on with the offensive, as she slid down the wall of earth and instead, she stomped her foot on the ground to launch herself in the air, and when she landed, she created an earth rumbling that shook the entire ground around them, afterwards, earth spikes came out of the ground around her, attacking everything within 200 meter-radius.
Berserker dodged the earth spikes, but the attack was so unexpected that the spike pierced one of his wings, he screamed in pain and he fell to the ground right in front of Toph.
Toph smirked, "There you are, Punk." She said, before she took some of the earth spikes behind him and she attacked him with it.
Berserker saw the attack coming and he dodged it, the spikes came to Toph's direction, she then redirected them to Berserker once more.
Berserker couldn't have time to heal his broken wing, as he had to dodge the attack again.
This time however, he decided not to dodge, but he used his immense firebending move to destroy all the upcoming rocks, and the attack was so immense it went directly at Toph afterwards.
Toph felt the heat on her face, similar to that one Katara saved her from, and she created another wall of rock to protect herself.
But the fire was so strong, it destroys the protective wall as well, and Toph fell on her back as some of the debris hit her head and made her dizzy, fighting to stay conscious.
But she felt it was too late as she faintly saw Berserker coming at her,
"You fought bravely, you little brat. but it's time for you to follow your little friends into the spirit world." He taunted, as he was about to strike her down.
Fortunately, before Berserker could reach her, Aang was there in a flash, his eyes and tattoos were glowing white, as Toph gave him time to tap into the avatar state once more, the avatar moved his arms to create a great blast of air that sent Berserker far away into the ocean.
"Toph, are you alright?" Aang asked, still in the avatar state.
Toph was petrified by the thousand voices she just heard, the shock of it helped her regain her consciousness.
She stood up, "Yeah. I didn't need your help though, Twinkletoes." She said.
Aang looked at Berserker who was flying above the water right now.
"Go help the others. Leave this one to me." The Avatar said, with the thousand voices once more, before he created another elemental ball and flew rapidly in Berserker's direction, driving him into the ocean once more.
"Screw you." Toph said once Aang was out of earshot, she hated him for taking Berserker away from her once again.
When she thought about it, she knew Aang was right, Berserker puts her at a disadvantage since she can't feel anything above the ground, he would beat her any day.
But she still wanted revenge, and so she's going to get it.
She remembered Katara and how she might be struggling trying to free Sokka at the moment, so she decided to heed Aang's words at the moment and go help the others.
The two girls have been fighting non-stop for about half an hour, Azula with one arm against Mai and her lethal knife-throwing skills, Mai was enraged as Azula attacked her dad, and the princess didn't let her injury hold her back, as she fought Mai with all she got.
At this moment, she would rather die than see Zuko sit on the throne another day, and so she fought with all she got, even provoking her opponent by attacking her father, as if Mai needed more provocation from Azula, she already hated her guts, she didn't need anymore persuasion to kill her.
The girls kept fighting, and after half an hour, Azula felt her right arm getting tired, and that she was too tired to use her legs.
On the other hand, Mai never felt any loss of energy, as she was too angry to feel her body at the moment.
Eventually, she was able to corner Azula, and she sent her knives at her as she was finally able to pin her right arm to a wall.
Azula was completely defenseless, and Mai was about to deliver the final blow.
"It's time you go see your father, bitch." Mai said, as she was about to stick the knife to Azula's chest.
"NOO!" Mai heard a voice scream from behind her.
She stopped abruptly and turned back to look at the owner of the familiar voice, only for her suspicions to be confirmed, it was definitely Zuko.
"Don't kill her, Mai. Please." Zuko urged her.
Mai looked at him, he regained consciousness, and crawled out of the stables to get to them, she was glad he was speaking again, but the heat of the moment made her forget all that.
"Why? She deserves it." Mai said, her voice was so venomous than even Azula flinched at the tone.
"She's my sister." Zuko said, his eyes pleading.
Mai knew Zuko would never forgive her for doing this, but at this particular moment she wasn't sure if she cared, she saw Azula strike down her own father.
"My dad was lying down right beside you, she struck him down." Mai argued.
"But he's still alive, that's what matters. Please, don't do this, Mai." At this point, tears welled up in Zuko's eyes, it stung Mai's eyes too as she really wanted to do this, Azula hurt her so much that the idea of letting her go made Mai tear up.
Eventually Mai turned her attention back to Azula with a lethal glare, it made Azula's skin crawl, the glare was so chilling it made her shiver to the bone.
Mai screamed at the top of her lungs and directed her knife at Azula.
"NOOOOO!" Zuko screamed, as he saw Mai delivering the final blow to Azula.
Or at least, that's what everybody thought, as Mai eventually redirected the knife to the wall behind Azula, sparing her life.
She kept glaring at Azula before she turned back and ran to Zuko's direction.
After turning her back to her, Azula was able to free herself from Mai's knife.
And she tried to use the surprise to attack Mai from behind, but before she could reach her, Mai was able to swing to the side and she trampled Azula down, she then used her knives to pin Azula to the ground with three knives, one to her right arm, and two to both her legs, completely immobilizing her.
As Azula was head down to the ground, unable to move, she started to lose whatever remained of her sanity, she couldn't believe that Mai has beaten her in a fight.
Azula started to cry, out of helplessness, she thought it was her time, but eventually she was unable to beat Zuko, again.
"I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL! ALL OF YOU!" She said, in between sobs, making Mai feel bad for her.
Mai went to Zuko's side to tend to him, "Are you alright?" Mai asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said, as Mai helped him relax his back to a nearby wall.
"I'm sorry I lost it." Mai said, pleading with her eyes for Zuko to forgive her.
"No need. I understand." Zuko said to his girlfriend.
She smiled faintly at him, despite the very rough day, at least she had Zuko by her side.
"This war is over." She heard another familiar voice say from the entrance of the stables.
It was her dad, holding his swollen shoulder, that was hurt from Azula's fire.
Mai stood up and ran to her father's side, "Are you alright, dad? Do I take you to the infirmary or Katara?" Mai asked, both concerned for her father's health, and glad that he was able to walk and got out of that attack from Azula alive.
Ukano looked at both Mai and Zuko, "I'm calling off the troops. Enough blood has been spilled this night." The leader of the new Ozai order said.
He then dragged himself to Zuko's side, and looked at him, he fell to his knees in front of him and said, "Firelord Zuko, I surrender myself and my troops to you." Ukano said.
Zuko was too shocked to speak, and so Azula beat him to it.
"You traitor! I hope Berserker burns you alive!" Azula lashed out.
Ukano then looked at her, "That would feel a lot better than what I'm feeling right now." Ukano said, his voice above a whisper.
Perhaps, Azula's strike was able to wake him up, make him see the crimes he's done, Mai knew her father was going to face a lot of charges, but he deserved them, and at least he decided that the justice system should deal with him, and that means that he won't be killed by a random firenation soldier or the avatar in a fight, and that means a lot to Mai.
She accepted her father's surrender on behalf of the firelord who was unable to speak at the moment,
"We accept your surrender, Lord Ukano. And you'll face legal charges in a public court. Now it's time you call of your troops." Mai said formally to her dad.
He looked at her, she didn't know what he felt at the moment until he smiled at her and said it himself once more,
"I'm proud of you." He said.
Before departing to do as Mai told him.
"TRAITORS! I'LL HAVE YOUR HEADS!" Azula screamed at the top of her lungs before Mai kicked her head swiftly and knocked her out.
Zuko was unable to say anything, so he was just glad Mai didn't kill her.
"That was satisfying." Mai said, her voice above a whisper, but enough for Zuko to hear her.
"I agree." Zuko responded, and Mai wasn't that much surprised by his answer as she knew he wanted to do it himself.
The battle inside Caldera City was over, thanks to Lord Ukano's efforts, he was able to successfully surrender and give himself up to Firelord Zuko and Mai.
The firenation soldiers took them into custody, only the group that was tasked with keeping Sokka and the rest of the prisoners remained.
As they took them away to the prisons of the new Ozai society, Katara and Toph went after them to rescue the southern watertribe prince.
And also the battle outside of Caldera City was still in motion.
The Avatar vs The White Dragon, the ultimate battle that will settle this fight once and for all.
