Season 1, Saga 1: New World, Chapter 11: Fly Spy
(We go to a museum at night where a female bat is spying on the building with a Treasure Scope. Smiling, she flies towards the building. The inside of the building is shown and in the heart of it, there is a glass case encasing a shiny, white diamond which is viewed from a room via a surveillance camera. One security guard is seen reading a book while another two are playing cards with one another.)
"Anybody hungry? Huh?" (Surveillance footage shows the bat walking up to the diamond.) Hey!" a guard shouted
(The bat jumps up close to the diamond and the alarm goes off.)
"What's going on?" another guard asked
"What's wrong?" a third guard asked
"How could anybody get in there?" another guard asked
(Looks at the diamond.) "Ah... Hyah!" (the bat kicks the glass case, causing it to break. She picks up the diamond.) Hello, gorgeous!" the bat said
"We'll lock down the place!" (The first guard presses two buttons. Doors around the facility begin to close.) Nobody's getting out of here now!" (Laughs while the other two guards run off before the first guard follows. The three guards run through a corridor and prepare to arm themselves.) "Hands in the air!" (The glass case is seen lying on the ground and the diamond has disappeared. In its place rests a card. The guards walk up to the card.) "Thank you?! What, is this a gag?!" the guard asked
(The three guards look up and see that the roof of the building has been lifted by a crane. Meanwhile, the bat is flying through the quiet night in Station Square.)
"You may not be a Chaos Emerald, but you'll do, for now…" (looks down at someone in her other arm revealing to be Bartleby.) "good work on the crane my feline friend." the bat said
"Anything to have a place to stay at." Bartleby said
(The scene shifts to the garage of the Thorndyke Mansion with Scarlet Garcia broadcasting news while Zee, Cream and Cheese are watching it.)
"I'm coming to you live from the National Museum where officials say the world's largest diamond was stolen late last night. Law enforcement authorities are baffled by the outbreak of precious gem robberies, but private sources tell SSTV that they believe this was merely the biggest in a series of jewel thefts that have plagued Station Square in recent days." Scarlet said
"Sonic?" Amy asked
"This is Scarlet Garcia, SSTV News." Scarlet said
(Amy is seen walking into the room holding pizza.)
"Hey, guys, have you seen Sonic?" Amy asked
"The last time we saw him he was with Chris and Tails, but I'm not sure where they went." Cream said (Cheese replies.)
"True went with them as well." Zee said
"That's too bad. Hey, feel like having some pizza?" Amy asked
"Pizza?" Zee asked
"Yes! Are you sure it's okay?" Cream asked
"You bet it is! Sonic's loss is your gain!" Amy said
(Cream and Cheese beamed with excitement. The scene shifts to Cumuo the X Tornado flying over the city. Sonic is spinning a ball on his finger.)
"Tails, you see anything down there?" Chris asked
"No." (Tails steers the X Tornado, causing Sonic to fall off.) "Nothing there." Tails said
"Don't worry. We're gonna find those emeralds, and Sonic will help, right?" (Chris turns around and realizes that Sonic has disappeared.) "Uh... Sonic... uh wh-where are you?" Chris asked
"Hey Chris." True said (points down for Chris to look where Sonic is.)
(Sonic is seen barely holding on to the X Tornado with the ball. The scene shifts into the White House.)
"Something has to be done, gentlemen. We must take action, Eggman is a threat to our nation's security. We've no choice but to launch an attack." the President said
"Mr. President, I want to stop this Eggman as much as you do, but it's not so simple." the Chairman said
"I'm afraid the chairman is right, sir. After examining the remnants of one of Eggman's robots, we've determined that his technical capabilities and military hardware far surpass our current weapon system." the Chairman advisor said
"That may be so, but it doesn't change the fact that something must be done." the President's Aide said
"Would you consider asking Sonic to assist with this mission?" the Director of Central Intelligence asked
"Sonic?" the President asked
"Eggman's an unusual enemy, sir, and that calls for an unusual ally. With this in mind, sir, I think Sonic's got what it takes to get the best of him. He just might be the only hope we have, Mr. President." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"That's true, but how do we know we can even communicate with a hedgehog?" the President asked
"Our operatives have observed him speaking to the young boy he's staying with. He understands the language." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"Fine, then we'll do it." the President said
"Sir, I think you've made the right decision." the Director of Central Intelligence said
(The scene shifts over to Chris' elementary school where he, True and the other students were making paintings of what they think of.)
"Hey, I bet that that's that Chaos Emerald you and Sonic have been trying to find, right, Chris?" Frances asked
"Kind of!" Chris said
"It looks like that?" Danny asked
"Each one is a different color." True said
"Let's keep the chatting to a minimum and focus on the painting." Mr. Stewart said
"Ah, right!" True, Chris and Danny said
(True, Chris and Danny return to painting their pictures while Mr. Stewart takes notice of Chris' painting.)
"What's that you're painting, Chris?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Err... an emerald." Chris said
"But I thought all emeralds are supposed to be green." Mr. Stewart said
"Uh, you're right. Funny. I'll just start over." Chris said
"No, Chris. Your emerald can be any color you want it to be. Matter of fact, I heard a red emerald was found somewhere recently around Silky Heights." Mr. Stewart said
"Whaaa?!" (Chris stands up knocking some paint over and some kids turn to him.) "Ah, sorry…" Chris said
"In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they found that emerald in an old dilapidated factory not too long ago." Mr. Stewart said
(Outside the window, Bartleby and Rouge are seen hiding, listening to what Mr. Stewart has just said.)
"Hm, who knows what interesting little tidbits you can pick up if you hang around long enough!" the bat said
"Good thing I heard them talking when we were flying by." Bartleby said
(Bartleby and Rouge hide back. Later on, the school bell rings. Chris bursts out of the school doors with True riding in his backpack while Danny follows.)
"Hey, Chris! Wait for me!" (Mr. Stewart watches the two running from his classroom and smiles while drinking in his cup. The scene shifts into the Thorndyke Mansion's garage.) "Hi, I'm Danny. Nice to meet you." Danny said
"Hi there, I'm Amy. This is my friend, Tails." Amy said
"Hi." Tails said
"I'm Zee, and this is Cumulo." Zee said (Cumulo coos as she flew up to Danny and nuzzled against him.)
"Hey." Danny said
"Uh, where's Sonic?" Chris asked
"He left already, and it's about time I head out, too." (The X Tornado prepares for take-off.) Let's take off!" Tails said
(Sonic zooms around the city stopping in front of a sign in a junction. The sign points "Factory" is located towards the right of the junction.)
"That way. Huh?" Sonic asked
(The X Tornado flies by with Cumulo flying next to it.)
"Alright! Yeah, this is the coolest thing ever!" Danny shouted
"Okay, cool it. Will you, Danny?" Chris asked
"Guess it's his first time." True said
"Look! There's Sonic!" Amy said
(Sonic is seen waving at the X Tornado before zooming off. The X Tornado follows him, creating a breeze that shakes the arrow off.)
(Emerging from the bushes with Bartleby flopping out coughing up leaves.) "Hah! They fell for it!" (The bat picks Bartleby up and flies for sometime until they arrive at the factory and lands outside it.) "That's it! Now... to see if I can find another emerald." (the two enter the warehouse and search around until Bartleby calls out for her to fly over and see a shining bead and proceeds to pick it up.) "Well, what's this?" (Lights suddenly flash at the two. G.U.N soldiers are seen pointing guns at Rouge.) "My, my... Trying to trap us?" the bat asked
"Don't make a move!" the female agent shouted
(The female agent starts walking towards Bartleby and the bat.)
"Whatever you like!" (the female agent proceeds with handcuffs until...) "You know, you're pretty tough for an old lady!" the bat said
(The G.U.N soldiers burst into laughter as the female agent blushes.)
"What are you clowns laughing at?! Commander!" the female agent shouted
"Huh?" the Commander asked (Coughs.)
(Soldiers stop laughing.)
"I'm not going anywhere. Matter of fact, I kinda like being in the spotlight!" the bat said
(places his arm over his eyes.) "speak for yourself, at least you're not being blinded by it." Bartleby said
"Forget the cuffs! [Walks towards Rouge and Topaz] What's your name?" the Commander asked
"I'm Rouge, that's Rouge the Bat!" Rouge said
"And I'm Bartleby!" Bartleby said
"Hey, I've seen you two somewhere before. That's right! You're the ones that snuck into the National Museum and stole that diamond, aren't you?" the Commander asked
"Who me?" Rouge asked
"I only helped with the crane." Bartleby said
"We set up a trap to catch Sonic, and who do we wind up with but a jewel thief duo? Funny how things work out that way!" the Commander said
"Who's Sonic?" Bartleby asked
"You'll know when we come across him." Rouge said
(Scene shifts to Sonic running along the road at sunset while Cumulo and the X Tornado follows him.)
"Man, I'm starving…" Danny said
"Me too!" Chris said
"Me three!" True said
(Scene shifts into the White House where Bartleby and Rouge are sitting in some chairs while the Commander and the female agent are standing behind them.)
"Boy, I could really go for a cup of coffee." Rouge said
"What?! Listen, missy! This isn't a country club. You're in deep trouble." the female agent said
"Yeah yeah, I know, so I've heard, but all I want is a cup of coffee. Don't be such a nag!" Rouge said
"A what?! A nag, huh?!" the female agent asked in anger
"Hey, get her a coffee, Topaz!" the Commander said
"Hmph, aye aye!" (Topaz walks over to the coffee set and prepares a cup of coffee.) "She doesn't deserve it if you ask me!" Topaz said
"My, my. Topaz, eh? Isn't that the name of a gem?" Rouge asked
"You mean like a crystal?" Bartleby asked
"Was the diamond we stole the only gem you saw after you came to this world?" Rouge asked
(The office door opens, the President, the Director of Central Intelligence and the President's Aide enters. Topaz turns around and accidentally pours hot coffee on her hands, causing her to drop the cup of coffee.)
"Case of the jitters, Topaz?" the President asked
"I-I'm sorry, Mr. President, sir." Topaz said
"So, you're Rouge and Bartleby." the President's Aide said
"Hi!" Rouge said
"Hello!" Bartleby said
"Well then, I imagine you must be wondering why we brought you here today." the President's Aide said
"Uh-huh." Rouge said
"Listen, Rouge. We'd like to make a deal." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"A deal, huh?" Rouge asked
"We are willing to offer you complete immunity from your crimes. That is, of course, if you decide to join our team." the President said
"Join your team? As what?" Bartleby asked
"You'll work as undercover agents for the President." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"Wow! Imagine me, a real-life secret agent! Tell me, why would you want a naughty little jewel thief like me on your team?" Rouge asked
"That is none of your business, young lady! Do we have a deal?" the President asked
"You'll have to ask her, she makes the decisions for me." Bartleby said
"Umm…" (thinking) "Who knows, working as an agent, I just might get closer to the Chaos Emerald!" (out loud) "Mr. Pres, you got yourself a deal!" Rouge said
"Congratulations, agent! Welcome aboard." the President said
(The President proceeds to shake hands with Rouge.)
(Chuckles) "Err, does this mean I can't get to keep my diamond?" Rouge asked
"Uh, oh right. Well, what do you think?" the President asked
"Well, the case is still considered unsolved as long as she promises not to talk." the President's Aide said
"There you have it." the President said
(Rouge smiles. The scene shifts back to the junction where the sign is. Sonic picks up the sign and looks towards the left.)
"I'll have to take my chances." Sonic said
(Sonic zooms off towards the left while the X Tornado follows. The scene shifts to an evening flight where Bartleby, Rouge and the G.U.N soldiers are. Topaz attaches a yellow object to Rouge's wrist.)
"What's this thing?" Rouge asked
"That is a bomb." the Commander said
"A bomb?!" Bartleby asked in fright (clings onto the commander's face with fear who then pulls him off.)
"It's only for your boss!" (puts Bartleby down next to Rouge.) "If we push this remote control here, it's bye bye batty. See, we don't exactly trust you, so you be a good little girl and maybe we won't have to use it." the Commander said
"Hmph!" Rouge said
"Just think of it as a little bracelet." Topaz said
"A bracelet that explodes?!" Rouge asked in rage
"It's supposed to be functional, not fashionable!" Topaz said
"Looks like something an old lady would wear! Why don't you try it on?" Rouge asked
(Blushes) "What does that mean?!" Topaz asked in rage
"Just what you think it does, grandma!" Rouge said
"Ladies, please!" the Commander said
"Don't get involved!" Bartleby said
(after a few minutes, the plane was almost near an island.)
"Approaching drop point, Commander! Straight ahead!" the Pilot said
"Yep! Roger! Get ready!" the Commander said
(Bartleby, Rouge, Topaz, Commander and the two G.U.N. soldiers drop from the plane, opening out their parachutes to land safely on the island. The scene shifts to the factory, where True, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Chris and Danny have arrived at.)
"Hmm... what is this place? It gives me the creeps. Well, now what? There's nothing here." Amy said
"Something seems strange here, Sonic. Who would've moved that sign?" Tails asked
"Beats me." Sonic said
(Chris and Danny yawned as they began to feel sleepy as Cumulo held a sleeping True on her back. The scene shifts to the island where Dr. Eggman's fortress is located at. The Commander looks through his binoculars.)
"I don't see an entrance anywhere! Come on, where is it?" the Commander asked
"Really wish I was able to see in the dark." Bartleby said
"Ugh, do I have to do everything?" Rouge asked
(Rouge grabs the rope and flies towards the fortress. The Commander then grabs the remote and was about to press the button.)
"Oh yeah?!" the Commander asked in rage
(Topaz stops the Commander from pressing the button.)
"Hold on! Follow me!" Topaz said
(Bartleby, Topaz and the G.U.N soldiers follow Rouge towards the edge of a cliff. A rope drops down and Rouge gives the thumbs-up signal while Topaz does the same. The scene shifts inside where Bartleby, Rouge, Topaz, the Commander and the G.U.N soldiers are sprinting around the fortress corridors.)
"This way!" Rouge said
(The Commander grabs Rouge's hand.)
"Hold on, where are you going?" the Commander asked
"Don't be so jumpy! You want me to help you out or don't you?" Rouge asked
"No funny stuff?" the Commander asked
"We're on your team now!" Bartleby said
"Alright, just checking!" (The Commander presses a button on his device, revealing a map of the fortress.) "Okay, let's move in!" (Everyone continues on moving around the fortress. Meanwhile, Rainbow King and Dr. Eggman lies asleep.) "We don't have much farther! Now, if we could just find the power output sector." the Commander said
"Any idea where that might be?" Topaz asked
I guess I must've left my map at home!" Rouge said
"Well, it's almost dawn. What do you think we should do, Commander?" Topaz asked
"We don't have much time, let's keep looking!" the Commander said
(Bartleby, Topaz, Commander and the G.U.N soldiers proceed on but Rouge looks ahead in another corridor.)
"Commander. Mind if I have a look around by myself?" Rouge asked
"Are you kidding? How do I know I can trust you?" the Commander asked
"You can! I'll be right back!" Rouge said
"I'll go with her just in case." Topaz said
"Whatever…" Rouge said
"You're not leaving me behind." Bartleby said
"Alright then." (Passes Topaz the device and the remote.) "Remember, don't do anything reckless!" the Commander said
"Yes sir-" Topaz didn't finish
"Aye aye!" (Topaz frowns at Rouge. The G.U.N soldiers and the Commander exit out of the base while she, Bartleby and Topaz continue on. They see a particular door.) "This could get messy, especially for an old gal like you!" (delivers several kicks to the door, busting it open. They look around and see a machine containing the cyan-colored Chaos Emerald.) "My, my... Well, hello! It's beautiful!" Rouge said
(A door opens and a robot is seen. Bartleby and Topaz walk towards Rouge.)
"I have the strangest feeling that we're being watched." (A robot claw suddenly appears and grabs her and Bartleby. Rouge turns around and sees a robot claw coming towards her, but Rouge avoids it.) "Please, help us, Rouge!" Topaz shouted
"Hang in, guys!" Rouge shouted
(Rouge swoops down. A speaker emerges from the robot while Rouge channels her attack into a Screw Kick. the robot emits a loud alarm, giving Bartleby, Rouge, Topaz, the Commander and the G.U.N. soldiers earaches from the sound.)
"What is that?!" the Commander asked in pain
(Back inside, Rainbow King and Dr. Eggman suddenly wakes up and falls off their chairs.)
"What was that?" Rainbow King asked
"It must be... intruders!" Dr. Eggman said
(The scene shifts back to Rouge as she falls to her knees as the alarm continues.)
"That sound, it hurts my ears!" Rouge shouted
(the robot rotates one of its pegs, releasing a louder alarm. Rouge screams in pain as she tries to cover her ears.)
"My ears are hurting!" Bartleby shouted
"I can't take it! Help us, please!" Topaz shouted
(Scene shifts back to Rainbow King and Dr. Eggman where they are covering their ears.)
"Where is that sound coming from?" Rainbow King asked
"That scream is coming from Noizi! Someone's trying to make off with my Chaos Emerald, and we can't have that now, can we? Go get them, Sneezer!" (Presses the number 14 button.) "GAH! Blast that infernal voice!" Dr. Eggman shouted (A section of the floor beneath the two lowers itself with the two still covering their ears.)
(Scene shifts to Rouge.)
"I'll go insane! Huh?!" Rouge asked
(looks to where the doors are opening and see three different robots.) "what kind of robots are those!?" Bartleby asked in fright
"Three more of Eggman's robots! Guardbot, Behemoth and Sneezer
(E-13 Guardbot, E-12 Behemoth and Sneezer enter the room where Rouge, Topaz and Noizi are at. As the loud alarm subsides, Guardbot and Sneezer attack Rouge, but she avoids them, causing the attacks to damage the room itself.)
"Rouge!" (The attacks reveal a room beneath the floor.) "The power generator!" Topaz shouted
(Rouge performs her Screw Kick at Noizi, but Noizi turns its peg and releases its loud alarm again, causing Rouge to scream in pain and fall to the ground due to the loud sound. Noizi tilts back and forth in place while Bartleby and Topaz screams, enjoying torturing Rouge to no end with its loud alarm. Rouge gets up.)
"I've had enough of this!" (Guardbot shoots at Rouge who avoids by back-flipping. Its attacks hit Sneezer and then Sneezer launches two missiles at Behemoth and the glass case containing the emerald.) "Ah! Oh, no! I've lost the Chaos Emerald!" (Noizi emits the alarm causing Rouge to scream in pain.) "Alright, you're fooling around the wrong girl!" (Rouge looks at her bomb bracelet, and breaks it from her arm. Guardbot attacks Rouge, but she dodges it, flies up and tosses the bracelet into Noizi's speaker. The alarm finally stops and Noizi, puzzled, attempts to pick it up with its claw.) "Push that button!" (Topaz proceeds to grab the remote and successfully presses the button, causing the bomb in Noizi's speaker to detonate, destroying the speaker. Topaz drops to the floor. Noizi tilts from side to side, dazed from losing its speaker that was its main source of attack and unable to retaliate now. Meanwhile, Rainbow King and Eggman are running through the corridors of the base. Rouge delivers a Screw Kick and pierces through Noizi and then she grabs Bartleby and Topaz and flies off.) "Hang on tight!" (She flies towards Rainbow King and Eggman who were about to enter the room only to back up into a wall from seeing them rush out.) "Move it!" Rouge said
"Hi Rainbow King!" Bartleby said
"Hello Bartleby." Rainbow King said
"Excuse me…" (turns his head to where Bartleby, Rouge and Topaz flew off to with Rainbow King looking as well.) "Who's that? Oh…" Eggman said
(The two then looked towards the room to see Noizi was sparking all over, Rainbow King and Eggman then screamed as Noizi finally exploded in flames. The flames burst through the corridor and out of the base, but Bartleby, Rouge and Topaz escaped safely. The Commander and the G.U.N soldiers look up at them.)
"Rouge, I don't know how to thank you." Topaz said
"I do. Lose some weight!" Rouge said (causes Topaz to blush in rage.)
"You walked yourself into that one." Bartleby said
(scene shifts back inside the fortress where Rainbow King and Eggman are covered in soot and in pain.)
(Coughs as Rainbow fell to the ground, unconscious.) "Help... mommy…" Dr. Eggman said
(Scene shifts to Chris' elementary school. Chris and Danny are seen sleeping.)
"Uh, Chris, Danny…" Mr. Stewart said
(Mr. Stewart shakes their bodies. Chris and Danny suddenly wake up. Some of the kids turned to look at them.)
"Uh, we're sorry…" Chris and Danny said
"Now, Chris, I get the feeling you and Danny didn't get enough sleep last night. It's okay to have adventures, just make sure to get to bed on time." Mr. Stewart said
"Huh? How did you know, sir?" Chris asked
"Just a wild guess." Mr. Stewart said
"Thanks, Mr. Stewart." Chris and Danny said (Laughs.)
"By the way, where's True?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Oh, she kinda got sick last night, so she's staying home until she feels better." Chris said
(scene shifts to Thorndyke mansion where True is laying down on the living room couch with a blanket over her body as she sniffles her stuffy nose a bit.)
