Chapter 13 True or False (The Trap)
A.N. – So, there is not much change except in the plot and the end of the attack. So, let's begin!
Short Summary – After Jeremy receives some incriminating information regarding A, she is temporarily disbanded from the Lyoko Warriors until a solution is reached. Xana hopes it will make her 100% loyal to him and remain on Lyoko. But determined to prove she is one of them, she decides to act in Xana's latest attack.

After Aelita made the decision to save her current self, using her hair fragment, the group starts to question how current Aelita, and A are related or have a similarity that links them. It's been nearly one year since the fight with Xana began and even though current Aelita and A have similarities, there is still not enough evidence to prove they are the same person or even in some way related. They needed more information on A, but without a name, it is impossible to find out anything about her, and Aelita couldn't risk revealing who she is yet. Luckily for her, Xana doesn't know either.
The time came for the attack but with items and resources in the city running low, Aelita had to take a more practical approach. Instead of attacking within the city, why not attack them directly at the heart of Lyoko…the factory.
"I think it's time we think differently about this" Aelita said.
"Such as?" Xana asks.
"Attack the factory."
"Are you trying to make me kill myself?"
As that would help Aelita a lot, it would still provide the same result that destroyed the future. "No, not the supercomputer. The factory has an assembly line setup. So, use that against them."
"That can work. We'll move with this immediately."
Xana had no problem with the alliance with this girl, but he felt that her loyalty was a little questionable. She was known to be working with Lyoko Warriors every so often, so Xana recorded their last conversation. He was going to use this to seal the girl's fate with the warriors. Xana sent the information to Jeremy's computer.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy was talking to current Aelita late at night as Jim was walking around the dorms. "I gotta go Aelita. I don't want to take the chance of introducing you to Jim. I'll contact you tomorrow at noon, universal time." As Aelita logs off, a message pops up. "What's this?" Jeremy says quietly so Jim doesn't hear him. He connects the headset and opens the message it was an audio log. He listened to it and was stunned by the contents.
The next morning, Jeremy called the whole group to his room to play the audio. They all finished listening, and they couldn't explain it.
"This is why she knew all the attacks before we did. She was communicating with Xana" Yumi concludes.
"Didn't trust her then. Now it makes me trust her even less" Ulrich adds.
"Come to think of it, once I entered Lyoko, Xana's monsters blew me away quickly" Odd says.
"Could've been getting too close to the truth" Jeremy responds.
"Or they're protecting her," Yumi says. "What do we do now?"
"For now, we go to class. Discuss it at lunch, and then after school, we confront her. No doubt Xana is moving soon, so there is no doubt we'll see her soon."
The group all nodded and headed off to their first class.
In the factory, Xana started to control the machines in the factory, activating the assembly line. All he needed to start his trap was the warriors.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita reappeared in the forest. How she was going to approach this attack was unknown to her. She was walking and heard Yumi and Ulrich talking. But she also saw Sissi eavesdropping on them.
"I wonder what he sees in her?" Sissi says.
"That is a mystery isn't it" Aelita responds, which causes Sissi to jump and turn around quickly.
"And just who are you?" Sissi screams quietly.
"How would Ulrich answer this?" She thinks for a second. "Oh yeah. None of your business. Just like what they're talking about is none of your business as well. So, I suggest you go."
Sissi leaves but was still determined to find out the secret behind Yumi and Ulrich. Aelita walked forward but bumped into them. "Eavesdropping on us?" Yumi asks. Ulrich has a look of anger on his face.
"I'm one of you guys. Why keep me out of the loop?"
"Oh really? Are you one of us, are you spying on us?" Ulrich asks her.
"Spying on you? What do think I am? A government agent?"
"Yeah, a government called X-A-N-A" Yumi responded.
Aelita had a look of shock on her face. She was concerned about how they found out. "I know it looks bad, but I can explain."
"I would save it. We can't trust you if you are allying with him. We all heard audio of you conversing with him" Ulrich says.
'So, they think it was me. I must listen to the audio myself.' Aelita thought to herself. "And you believe everything you find on the internet. This could easily be a prank by Xana trying to divide us. Remember the clone?"
"Well until we know the full truth, you can't be with us. Jeremy and Odd won't trust you either. So, you're temporarily out of our group until further notice!" Yumi decides for her.
Aelita finally felt like what it was to be kicked out. They couldn't do to her back in the day due to her ability to deactivate towers. Everyone in the group besides her got kicked out. Jeremy got tricked by the false version of her father. Ulrich increased Xana's power trying to help Yumi's father. Odd showed the supercomputer to a girl to impress her. And Yumi's parents forced her out of the group due to a lack of trust.
Aelita walked away in defeat, failing to notice Sissi. She had to listen to the audio and the only way to do that was break into Jeremy's room.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy and Odd entered the factory with caution. The audio they heard informed them that Xana may have taken interest in the factory, though they didn't know what it was. They entered the elevator and found it wasn't working. Jeremy and Odd looked at each other.
"Xana?"
"Possibly. Though it could just be a coincidence," Jeremy adds. "Let's go through the machine room."
Just as they leave Yumi and Ulrich arrive and race to the elevator and then push the button and it appears to be operational. But Sissi also slips in too.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita approaches Jeremy's room and finds it locked, as she expected. She remembered that Yumi's brother and his friend knew how to pick locks so after Xana was defeated, she learned how to do it through them. She never thought it would be useful till now. Jeremy's lock clicked and she entered. She looked through his files and found the one that was sent last night. She opened and played it, and it was a recording of the conversation that she had with Xana regarding the attack.
"So, he set me up. I can only hope that they discard this. But I'm not going to let Xana hurt them" Aelita said as she rushed back to the factory to help the warriors.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy and Odd enter the machine room and find it pretty unactive. As they look for the second entrance to the lab, they hear sounds all around them and a loud boom. This causes them to stop moving anticipating something. Suddenly the machines start moving.
"We're stuck in a trap!" Odd says.
Jeremy and Odd try to fight off the machines but Xana knows all their moves. Jeremy gets a call.
"Yumi, are you alright?" He pauses. "In the elevator?" There is another pause. "So that is the noise we heard. We're stuck in the machine room. Looks like the audio was correct, Xana is trapping us!"
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita comes running through, noticing the cables of the elevator snapped. She heads off towards the machine room. She sees the factory operational in full force. She sees Jeremy grabbed on a machine and put unto a conveyor belt. Aelita comes in and gets him off. Odd is also grabbed and Aelita jumps off the conveyor belt to grab him, pulling him down.
"Why are you here? To see us fall?!" Odd questions.
"No, to save your sorry skins! I'm not gonna let Xana skin you alive!" Aelita retorts back.
The three take off to the boiler room. As they enter, they see the boiler is almost ready to blow.
"That boiler doesn't look trustworthy" Odd points out.
"Xana is determined to stop you. He will blow this thing. You must run" Aelita tells them.
The three of them line up and then run as the boiler explodes. They all emerge in the lab, all unharmed. They can't believe the hell that Xana just put them through.
"I can't imagine Xana is after you" Odd tells Aelita.
"I'm not really a golden child here. I'm just like you guys" Aelita responds.
Yumi also appears from the smoke.
"You brought the traitor?" Yumi asks.
"She actually helped us with the whole machine incident" Jeremy says. "Where's Ulrich?"
"He's trapped in the elevator with Sissi and a broken arm." Aelita walks to the shaft and climbs down. "Where are you going?"
"To save Ulrich." Aelita needed to restore Ulrich's trust in her and saving him might be the way to do it.
Aelita reached the bottom of the shaft and saw water pouring in. She landed on top of the elevator. She opens the top hatch and pulls Ulrich out of the elevator and puts him against the wall.
"Sissi…she's still…in there" he says weakly.
She reaches inside and pulls her out as well. Her eyes are closed, and she looks motionless. Aelita sets her down and listens near her chest and she's barely breathing. She starts performing CPR and eventually she coughs up water and her breathing returns to normal.
"You…save us. Why?" Ulrich asks.
"Because we're friends, not enemies" Aelita responds as the return in time is launched.
Aelita's fate with the Lyoko Warriors was still in question. They were all in Jeremy's room to talk about it.
"I know what you heard, but you can't prove that was me. Xana could have easily manipulated that to confuse you" Aelita tells them.
"She's right. If she was on Xana's side, I don't think she would have helped us like she did" Ulrich says.
"Okay, since we don't have any concrete she's working with Xana, we'll let this slide. But don't think we'll forget about this incident" Jeremy says, and Aelita's alliance with Xana was still safe. "Now, back to what we should have done yesterday."
The group reveals a cake. "Happy birthday Aelita!" They all say to Aelita on the computer screen.
Ulrich turns and sees Sissi peeking in. He smiles and winks at her, causing her to back off.
The group all celebrates current Aelita's birthday with only the future Aelita knowing her birthday date that Jeremy set up.
When Aelita returned to Lyoko, she was immediately confronted by Xana.
"Exactly what were you thinking?" she asks him.
"I think it's time to choose a side. It's either me of them?" Xana asks.
"How about neither. I despise you, but I don't necessarily enjoy working with them. If you're gonna push an issue to far, I'm going to intervene."
"If you want to be an enemy in their eyes, I'll be happy to accommodate. Just know that there will be a time where you may not be able to save everyone."
Xana disappears and Aelita returns home. "I'll find a way to save everyone. Only one will perish at your hands."
