Chapter 22 My Freedom (Code Earth)
A.N. – These last two chapters all ones you don't want to miss. This will not only wrap up the first season, but also unlock a lot more questions that will work perfectly for the mystery season. Let's begin!
Short Summary – Jeremy has finally found a way to materialize current Aelita and while the rest of the group is ecstatic, A is concerned. Determined to keep Xana alive as long as possible, the two head off to make sure Xana's survival is secured.

Xana's Point of View
Xana was standing on a platform in an unknown sector. His home, which he calls Carthage. He looked at the data that lined the walls of this mysterious place. After he heard that Aelita's materialization was near, he knew that he would either have some way to survive or his days were numbered. His ally informed him that she had a plan. After so many attempts to stall the warriors, she had either helped or hindered him. Trusting her now was a risky option for him. But for him, he has no other options. The monster he needs to steal the keys is not ready to use. His ally confirmed she had an idea to steal something from Aelita to secure his survival. They just had to reach her before Jeremy could rematerialize her. He headed back into the white light and prepared for the mission to come…
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita went to the school to see if today was the day that Jeremy was going to rematerialize her current self. She headed up to the dorms to see if her prediction was correct. She saw all the gang gathered around Jeremy's computer.
"So, what are all of you doing here?" She asks as she casually walks in.
"We were just about to tell Aelita the news" Jeremy said with a smile.
"What news?" Current Aelita asks.
"We're waiting for you here."
"The materialization program works?!" Aelita asks surprised.
"Yes. It's all here. All you have to do is get to the passage tower in the forest sector and then I'll launch the program and then you'll appear in the scanners for the first time."
Aelita remembered when Jeremy rematerialized her for the first time. She was so happy to be a real person, though her memory was erased. She then got an idea. She disappeared before anyone noticed. She had enough information to start her mission.
Jeremy's Point of View
The group all decided to wait until after class today to rematerialize Aelita. Jeremy grabbed a disk, and they headed out only to be met by Jim.
"What's wrong? Up to no good again?" Jim asks.
"No, we were studying together" Odd replies.
"Oh really? I have had enough of your lies. We will stay right here until you tell me the complete truth of what you four are up to!"
"Jim?" The principal says as he enters the hallway. "What's going on here?"
"I'm glad you're here Mr. Delmas. I just busted these four up to no good and now I'm gonna find out what it is."
"Jim don't tell me this is another absurd story about secret plots and passages. For over a year, you've been telling me the same things. Yes, some of them may not be the best behavior wise, but you let me handle that. You're a PE teacher, not an investigator. Do your actual job and leave these four alone."
The principal leaves and Jim growls in response to his comment. "What are you doing here? You got class, now get going!"
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita returned to the mountain sector to inform Xana. "I hope you're there because we got to move" Aelita said as Xana appeared.
"The time has come, has it?" Xana asks.
"Yeah. I know where they going to. Passage tower in the forest sector."
"There's a tower due of south of here that will take us to the forest."
"Then let's get going. We need to be there before Jeremy launches his program. We only got one shot at this."
"I'll send some monsters to stall them."
The two then headed to the way tower that will take them to the forest sector.
Jeremy's Point of View
Aelita contacted Jeremy to tell him that Xana blocked the way with some of his creatures. All of them headed to the factory to assist Aelita in getting to the tower.
"You think A would be here to assist us. This is big. We can finally beat Xana" Odd says.
"We can manage without her. Right now, our priority is getting Aelita to the passage tower. Get to the scanners and I'll launch the procedure" Jeremy tells them.
Current Aelita's Point of View
Aelita looks out from her hiding spot to see three bloks blocking the way. She knew that if she got within another one hundred feet, they would immediately fire at her. Suddenly, Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd arrived behind her.
"Your knights in shining armor have arrived princess" Odd says with a bow.
"Well good, because the enemy has sent some strong monsters to stop us" Aelita says.
"Let us handle it. Then get in the tower when it's clear" Ulrich says as he holds his sword in front of him.
The three rush over to confront the bloks.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita and Xana entered the way tower that would take them to the forest sector. The two dove off the edge and reappeared in another tower. They exited and found that they were in the forest.
"The tower should be on the other end of the sector" Xana informs Aelita.
"The other end!? We won't make it in time!" Aelita tells him.
"Oh, I got a few surprises for this mission." Xana then transformed into his own virtual avatar. He resembled a normal human with a full black suit and his symbol on his chest. His eye color was red. Still, despite having a human-like form, he was still virtual.
"What was the point of that?"
"So, I could ride one of these." Xana snapped his fingers and two spider like monsters dropped to the ground. "A few new creations of mine. The monster that takes memory is still development but should be ready soon."
"Worry about that later. Our goal now, is to link Aelita to you."
The two hopped on the new monsters and they sped off towards the tower.
Current Aelita's Point of View
All the others were in the tower waiting for Jeremy to return. Unfortunately, for them, Jeremy grabbed the wrong CD. He said that he would have to return to the campus to recover the right disk. Suddenly, the tower shakes violently after being hit from the outside. The three walk outside to deal with the problem.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy was in the infirmary after tripping trying to escape Jim. He now has Aelita's rematerialization program, but no way to reach the factory. What's worse…he doesn't know that Xana is attacking the tower…or even A and Xana are in route. Jim goes in to talk to Jeremy about what he was trying to prove.
"Jeremy, listen, I…I want to say I'm sorry. I was so sure you guys were up to something." Jeremy suddenly has an idea. "I guess I got carried away a little. I deserve to get fired. I went a little crazy because I thought you and your friends had a lot of secrets that you were hiding. Anyway…I'm gonna miss you guys."
"Jim…wait. You may not be as crazy as you think. You want an explanation, help me get back to my friends and I'll tell you everything" Jeremy tells him.
"But that means I was right after all!"
"Yes. Get me back to the factory and I'll tell the principal everything. You'll get your job back and after that's done we can all go back to normal."
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita and Xana were approaching the tower and also seeing under siege by the megatank.
"You sent a megatank?!" Aelita says in shock and anger.
"A little extra reassurance. If things don't work out in your favor, we can still disconnect the tower and stop Aelita from escaping" Xana explains.
Aelita didn't know how this would impact the current flow of events. She needs Aelita to escape, but how much time can she afford to lose? "Let's make that megatank not needed."
Xana nods. "Faster!"
The tarantulas move faster to reach the tower in time.
Jeremy's Point of View
Jeremy and Jim arrived at the elevator and Jeremy was explaining their fight against Xana. "And this super AI called Xana wants to destroy us. Aelita is the only one who can deactivate the towers, and it's our job to help her."
"And you also got that ally, A, in Loko?" Jim asks.
"No, it's Lyoko. And yes, she comes and goes at random times. We don't know who she is, but she has some connection to the supercomputer and its creator, whoever it is." Jeremy presses a button, and they descend down into the lab.
"Well, what do you know?" Jim says in awe as this was Jeremy's gang secret.
Jim carries Jeremy to the chair. "Aelita, I'm back."
"Jeremy, you're back. What happened to you?" She asks.
"It's a long story. I'm launching the program now. Let's hope it works."
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita and Xana were now within range of the tower. They see Ulrich devirtualized as the tarantulas let them off. The megatank charges one more blast.
"STOP!" Xana orders, but the megatank still fires, but ceases after the blast.
"We only got one shot at this" Aelita says.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Xana replies as they both enter the tower.
Jeremy's Point of View (Same time as the above part.)
Jeremy was ready to launch his program when something appeared on his screen. "What are those things? They have more life points than the others. And these two have masked signals."
"So, who are they?" Jim asks.
"Don't know but can't be good. Aelita, I'm launching the program now! Be ready! Code Earth!"
Current Aelita's Point of View
Aelita moved to the center but was held from behind and was turned to face Xana. "My dear Aelita. You have something I want, and right now, the stakes are not fair. So, I'm going to take something from you." Xana held out his hands and pulled something out of Aelita's head. "Now we both have something we need from the other. When you appear on Earth, you will not remember this encounter, but you will remember feeling my presence."
"I'm sorry Aelita. But this will benefit everyone" future Aelita said as she let her go.
Aelita woke up seconds later and caught a short glimpse of the two before her vison was gone.
Aelita's Point of View
"We made it" Aelita said.
"Yes, now I got her memory fragment. Without it, she can never be free of me. Next step, we get the keys" Xana said as the two departed.
Aelita exited Lyoko quickly and joined the others in the scanner room for the big reveal.
"You arrived just in time" Jeremy says.
"For what?" She responds.
"To welcome her." The scanner opened and when the smoke cleared, they all saw Aelita there, asleep. She had a black skirt, brown boots, and a dark red jacket with a yellow shirt. "She's finally here." She opens her eyes and smiles. "Welcome to Earth."
The future Aelita smiles, and a tear comes to her eye. She was experiencing her freedom all over again. The others cheered while Odd examined the two.
"Okay, now let's clear up a little issue. Since we don't know how Aelita looked in the real world, we couldn't answer this question. Now she's here, why do and her look similar?" Odd, asked A.
Current Aelita approached her, and they stood next to each other, and everyone saw the similarities between them.
"Odd's right. It's like they're identical twins, only A's a little older" Ulrich notices.
A needed to think of something quick. All of her lies were catching up to her. She finally got an idea. "I guess the creator wanted to make something to be the guardian. So, he must have used my some of my DNA to create this one."
"He took your DNA?" Jeremy asked.
"These Lyoko bands only react to me and my DNA. So, technically my DNA is stored in Lyoko permanently."
"I guess that explains how you were able to save her after she disappeared" Odd says.
"So, I guess that means you and I are sort of like sisters?" current Aelita says.
"A kneels down to her. "I guess so."
A.N. – And thus ends the struggle to free current Aelita from Xana's grasp and Lyoko. But Xana still has an ace in the hole and until they can recover that, Xana will always have the upper hand. One more episode in this season remains as Xana decides to test his own methods on rematerialization. Don't miss this season finale! PM me with story ideas if you have any!
