Chapter 29 Saint Valentine's Day
A.N. – Ok, so there is one major change for this episode, and that is there is no attack. There was only a red tower due to the guy Xana possessed to deliver the package to Aelita, it wasn't Aelita being possessed. It was the necklace that allowed Xana to control her. Do not try to argue with me on this. Also, a few viewpoint changes. Let's begin!
Short Summary – After failing to bring Aelita to the Scyphozoa, A and Xana try an indirect route and have Aelita bring herself to the Scyphozoa. Will his plan succeed?

Flashback #1
Aelita and Jeremy were on a bench in a special area of the park that no one visits on their first Valentine's Day since their victory over Xana. It has been a few months since Xana's defeat as well as Franz Hopper's death by sacrifice. Aelita was still mourning his death, but her friends helped her cope with it as best as they could. They were her only family left.
"It's nice to live a normal life. No Xana, no work, no having the world at risk" Jeremy says.
"I just wish I still had a family, like all of you. And I mean a real one. Not that I don't consider you guys family, but none of us are related" Aelita replied.
"I really wish things were different too. But there was no way for us to succeed with circumstances. You made the best choice Aelita. If you didn't activate the program quick enough, Xana would still be alive to this day."
"I wish my father still had a choice. He dedicated whatever life on Lyoko he had to stopping Xana and protecting me and Xana still beat him."
"Xana still beat us too. He made sure that if he went down, Xana was coming with him. I'm quite sure he knew he wasn't going to survive, and nothing was changing that. Just know that no matter what, we are always here for you Aelita" Jeremy tells her while grabbing her hands.
"Especially you?"
"Especially me."
The two share a passionate kiss.
Flashback #2
Many years later, Jeremy and Aelita, as well as the rest of the group, were able to graduate and move on with their own individual lives. One year later, Jeremy proposed to Aelita and two months later they were fully married. Before they knew it, Valentine's Day came around again, but it was different this time. This time, they were doing it as a married couple.
"It does feel different being married rather than dating" Aelita states.
"Why is that?" Jeremy asks.
"Well, back then we could still try to find out who we want to be with. And now that we're committed, there is no one else. It will be us two, always."
"Would there be anyone else?"
"Don't know. Situation might be different if I never went to Lyoko, same with you if never discovered Lyoko."
"Yeah, but then I never would have found my future wife" Jeremy replied while smiling.
Night soon came and the two were in their bed. Aelita turned to Jeremy. "You know Jeremy, even though I mentioned it, you still didn't do anything for Valentine's Day."
"Are you mad?"
"No, just disappointed."
"Well, for you, I didn't forget. I was just waiting for the right time, which is right now." Jeremy went over to Aelita and started kissing her. "I think we know where this is headed."
"I do. I think it's time we try to start our family."
"Then, let's celebrate Valentine's Day."
Jeremy then pulled the covers over them.
Present Day
A was sitting in her abode, knowing that tomorrow would be her current self's first Valentine's Day. She was sad that she left her Jeremy back in the future. A was never able to have children and she was determined infertile and didn't know that she was from birth. But in order to save everyone, she needed to leave them. Xana mentioned that he had a plan to get Aelita to the Scyphozoa and they would execute it tonight.
A was there to meet Xana in the mountain sector. "We have to try a different game plan. Give her this" Xana said holding a necklace.
"A necklace?" A said questioning it, even though she remembers this experience. "If you want to win her love, it will take a lot more than that."
"Not the necklace, it's what's inside of it. I have a chip inside that I created that will allow the wearer to become mine. If it works, I will have full control over Aelita and then she will come to Lyoko willingly and her memory will be mine." A took the necklace and headed back to the real world. "A very strange device, but without a physical form, it is useless to me."
A turned into her Lyoko avatar form to avoid suspicion and neutralize any threats. She made a package for the necklace before delivering it to Aelita. She knocked and then flew away before Aelita came to the door. Unfortunately for her, Jim spotted her.
"Hey you! Who are you? And why are you dressed like that?" Jim asks.
A walked up to him. "You will forget everything you saw here" A said as she touched his forehead using her energy orb to knock him out. She left a sleeping Jim on the floor and waited for Xana's plan to come into motion.
During a break in classes, A visits Yumi, Ulrich, and Jeremy, who is sulking.
"Did I miss something?" A asks.
"Jeremy thinks Odd is trying to steal Aelita by giving her a present, which I believe none of them gave to her" Yumi responds.
'Divide and conquer is not how I envisioned this going' A thought. "Well, who did?"
"We don't know. Yumi says she found it on her doorstep last night. Must be someone other than us who finds Aelita attractive" Ulrich responds.
"And who wouldn't. Jeremy fell for her on day one and she wasn't even here yet."
Just then Sissi pulled Ulrich away to give him her Valentine's Day gift and William also showed up to give Yumi roses. A soon saw the jealousy erupt from both Yumi and Ulrich as they tried to outplay the other with affection. After that confusion, the roles swapped. Yumi and Ulrich were sulking, and Jeremy was simply fine.
"Come on, it's stupid to fight over a little thing" Jeremy says.
"I don't this is the best time to address this when you were in the same situation five minutes ago" A says to him.
Aelita's Point of View
Aelita was in the bathroom at this point, and she heard voices in her head as her vision started to fade to grey. Her vision completely greyed out and Xana had full control over her.
"You will only listen to me now Aelita" Xana told her as she went on to carry out the rest of her day.
It was time for Ms. Hertz' class. Aelita was sitting down next to Jeremy like normal. "Where were you? We looked everywhere for you?" Jeremy asked her.
"I was um, uh…" Aelita says before hearing Xana speaking to her.
"Tell him you want to go to Sector 5" Xana told him.
"Do you think we could go to Sector 5, after class? I know where to find the data for making the anti-virus."
"The one that will free you from Xana. You mean it just came to you like that?" Jeremy responds.
"Say the necklace was inspiration" Xana told her.
"Let's just say your necklace inspired me" Aelita told Jeremy.
"Well, considering everyone's bad mood today, I doubt anyone will go with you" Jeremy responds.
"You can go by yourself" Xana says.
"I can go by myself" Aelita says.
"No, it's too dangerous. Don't forget Xana's ready to go to any extreme to steal your memory" Jeremy tells her.
"Try to convince him" Xana instructs her.
"Please Jeremy. I'm positive I'm on the right track. And with an Overboard, I'm sure I can get away from most of the monsters, even the Scyphozoa. Please?" She asks nicely.
"We need a little more. Kiss him," Xana says. Aelita leans in and kisses him on the cheek causing him to fall out of his chair. Xana saw this. "Oh, this is gonna be harder than I thought."
A's Point of View
A returned to Lyoko and went to sector five to see how the progress was going. "How's it going?"
"A little progress with a little failure. I convinced Yumi to go with her and it looks like they are in route," Xana said as they were watching from Aelita's eyes. "And the best part, she does anything I command her to do." They saw that Aelita and Yumi were now in Lyoko. "Now watch this. Kick Yumi."
"Sorry Yumi" Aelita said as she swept her feet and kicked her into a tree.
"Now hop on the Overboard and get to the ice sector" Xana instructed her, and they saw her speeding away.
"You know with this you probably just gave away what gives you control over Aelita" A tells him.
"It won't matter. As long as I get her memory this mission was not a total loss."
A was getting a private screening as to how Xana controls his hosts.
The two saw Yumi approaching Aelita. "Time to slow you down." Xana then spawned two krabs to slow Yumi down. Aelita was approaching the tower.
"Can she go through with a vehicle?" A asks.
"Time to find out" Xana said as it was a success and she made is successfully to the ice sector. As Aelita was flying through an icy path, they saw Yumi approaching yet again. "She doesn't give up does she."
"She's pretty persistent when she wants something" A tells him.
Yui than rammed the Overboard and both vehicles were destroyed. "Don't stop. Continue running."
Aelita took off in a run. Yumi appears in front of her. "Aelita, you must stop obeying Xana."
"Now for the fun part." Xana extended his hand and Aelita did the same. "Leave me alone." Xana used Aelita's powers to destroy the land under Yumi's feet. She fell and Aelita jumps over and continues.
Aelita finally arrives at her destination and the Scyphozoa appears. Odd appears behind her. "Aelita, it's me Odd."
"Not this time." He then used Aelita's powers to create an ice wall to separate them. The Scyphozoa then started to steal Xana's memory. Xana no longer had control over Aelita. But then something happened. Odd started firing at Aelita. "What is he doing?!" Xana said, clearly enraged.
"I'm pretty sure he knows that if Aelita loses all her life points, she'll disappear forever" A says knowing this will also end her as well.
"And I'll lose my way out!"
"It's not worth it! Call it off!" The Scyphozoa lowered her, but Xana then started to go at it again. "You don't listen do you!" A fired an energy orb as Odd fired one arrow. Xana collapsed and the Scyphozoa gave up as well.
"No!" He glanced at A.
"You want a way out; you can't risk her life."
"You got a point, but you are treading on thin ice with these retaliation strikes."
"I only do it when that big mind of yours fails to think."
A was back in the lab with the others after Jeremy contacted her in the mountain sector. Aelita took off the necklace and put it on the ground. Yumi smashes it and Jeremy picks up a chip with the sign of Xana on it.
"I better study this. Who knows, I might find something out about Xana" Jeremy says, looking at it.
"Anyway Aelita, you don't take presents now from anyone" Ulrich tells her.
"Promise," Aelita responds. "You know Jeremy saved my life and that's the best Valentine's present anyone can hope for." As they were heading for the elevator, Aelita decided to ask A something. "You guys head back. I'll catch up."
"You want something?" A asks.
"Do you have someone special? You know before all this."
"I do, and we promised we'd be together. I just have to do what I have to do here before I can return to him."
"I'm sure he would love to see you again."
"Yeah, me too."
"Do you have a family?"
"We tried, but I was proven as unfertile since birth. I had some tests done so any hopes of having a family were gone."
"And he was okay with this?"
"It was an idea we floated around but none of us were ever serious about it. If it happened, it happened. I may have few ideas to give us a family, but I need to settle things here first."
A returned, knowing that her and Aelita are the same. She needed to settle things here first before she could start rebuilding her future. Until her father meets a tragic end, the future was still in danger.
A.N. – This chapter was little on the shorter side but the next one will make up for it. Due to me wanting Marabounta to be its own chapter and Final Mix not having enough content to build one, the next will be Final Mix, Missing Link and The Chips Are Down all in one. It will be longer and might take a little longer to write. So, if there is no chapter on Friday, there will be one on Saturday. PM me with story ideas if you have any!
