Chapter 33 Destruction and Devastation (A Bad Turn)
A.N. – So, the krabs come to Earth and A uses her Lyoko avatar once again to give herself a fighting chance against the krabs. Time for Xana's most destructive monster to rise.
Short Summary – After A is found out by Xana, he allows her to continue to be close to them to put her plan into motion. But alliances don't mean nothing when Xana attacks.

A is in the mountain sector with Aelita. She convinced Xana to leave her alone as its part of her plan. A was showing her some new moves on Odd's board. Aelita was having trouble keeping still, but she also wasn't as daring as Odd was. A had to catch her a few times.
"I think I prefer staying close to the ground" Aelita comments.
"Trust me. Since you can't fight with a weapon, anything you can use to your advantage will benefit you greatly" A replied to her. She just didn't know that it was gonna be used soon.
"I do got a question for you. If Franz made me from you, why didn't he program me to have a weapon?"
"Maybe he saw you as someone to protect Lyoko not fight for it. That's what the others are for." A also didn't know why she developed the energy fields after recovering her full memory. She didn't have them when Franz virtualized her the first time.
The group was all coming back from a mission. Since it was already late out, there was no risk to A coming back with them. "Well, I think a few more missions like that, and we'll be able to have Aelita's anti-virus" Jeremy comments.
"What about A's condition?" Aelita asks.
"Don't know. We'll have to figure out what's wrong with her before we can do anything. Who knows, maybe another successful mission and we'll find out."
A wanted to say 'To save me, save Aelita' but she couldn't compromise the mission. Xana already knows and right now, that's enough. She glances to the side and sees Ulrich and Yumi acting awkward towards each other.
"They're in love" Odd says.
"Totally" A adds.
"No doubt" Jeremy adds last.
Ulrich turns towards them. "What?"
"Hello, anyone home?" Odd says.
"What are you waiting for anyway?" Jeremy adds.
"You know they're right Ulrich. You really ought go for it" Aelita adds.
"Like, now?" Ulrich replies.
"No, wait for to her fall for William because Ulrich is to shy and scared to say something, and William has no fear" A replies.
"Maybe not William, but someone as beautiful as her, any guy would kill to have her as a girlfriend" Odd adds.
"And Jim?" Ulrich asks.
"We'll cover."
Ulrich runs and A activates her Lyoko door. "Let me know how it goes." A still knows about their kiss on Lyoko, but it was becoming more and more obvious to everybody they're crazy for each other.
A was ready to take a nap, when Jeremy contacted her. "A, you awake?"
"Yeah, but I was just about to sleep" she responds.
"Sorry. Ulrich returned, but he didn't say anything. He also looks like he got rejected."
"Sulking?"
"More like angry."
"Oh, there's only one person who could do that to him in a matter of a few minutes."
"Who?"
"Who do think. William."
"You don't think-"
"Let's hope not."
A returns when everyone is gathered in the courtyard, except Ulrich. "Where's Ulrich?"
"In detention for fighting, over me" Yumi replies.
"What happened last night?"
"William waited for me at my place and tried to kiss me, but I turned him down."
"My guess, Ulrich didn't wait five seconds to see your reaction to his declaration of love."
"Ulrich's really mad at you though" Odd tells her.
"Why me? I'm not the one who tried to kiss Yumi?"
"He thinks you're the reason why William was there."
"When I said that, I didn't mean that literally. Just unfortunate set of circumstances."
"Well, they way the scene played out, it was almost like you gave it a play-by-play before it happened."
"Just give him time. He'll get over it" Aelita tells her.
"Time isn't going to fix this Aelita. It was like pulling teeth trying to gain Ulrich's trust and now I gotta convince him all over again to believe I didn't set him up."
Jeremy's superscan goes off. "Uh oh. Activated tower, mountain sector" Jeremy reports.
"Let's head for the factory. The sooner we deactivate it the better" Yumi suggests.
"What about Ulrich?" Aelita asks.
"Unless you want to recruit William, be my guest" A responds.
"You're right bad idea." Right now wasn't the best time to bring in someone new and they were doing just fine as is.
The five run across the bridge, when they are fired at from below. "Look out!" Odd calls out as they all duck, missing the shots from the krab. "Well, now we know what Xana has in store for us."
Yumi's phone rings and she answers it. Her brother is screaming so loud that even can hear it. "Hello, Hiroki?"
"Yumi there's a big monster outside the house!"
"What?!"
"No, I swear. And it looks like the one in Ultimate Blaster! Daddy's outside."
"I'm coming! Xana's virtualized another krab at my house. My parents are in danger."
"I'm leaving too. If Xana is targeting people close to us, there' a good chance he probably virtualized another one at the school to take out Ulrich" A says.
"Then go. Odd and me will manage" Aelita says.
The two run off. A stops. "What are you doing?" Yumi asks.
"Giving myself an advantage," A says as she transforms into her Lyoko avatar. "Good chance these krabs are as miserable here as they are on Lyoko and defeating them aren't go be as easy as the kankerlots. Go help your parents! I got Ulrich and William." She activates her wings and flies off.
Yumi's Point of View
As Yumi approaches her house she can hear police sirens. She round's the corner and is immediately stopped. "You can't go through here. There's a dangerous animal on the loose" a police officer tells her.
"But I live right there! I have to get to my parents!" Yumi pleads to them, but no success.
"Sorry miss, we have our orders."
A's Point of View
A lands in the courtyard and is greeted by students running in fear. "Hey, what's' going on around here?"
"Some kind of crazy machine animal is on the loose and is rampaging!" a student tells her before running off in fear again.
"Thanks for the info." A runs off to find the krab before Xana can hurt somebody.
Yumi's Point of View
"You've got to believe me! I'm the one the creature is after!" Yumi keeps on trying to get the police to let her go.
"I already told you miss, orders are orders."
Suddenly, the radio comes on with a message. "Calling all cars, the animal has just been spotted in the vicinity of Kadic Academy. I repeat, the vicinity of Kadic Academy. We also believe this one to be a separate from the one other incident in town. Over."
"Let's go." The cops enter the squad car and take off.
"I hope A got there before Xana" Yumi says as she goes to look for her family.
A's Point of View
A gets a view of the krab as it fires lasers. "Geronimo!" Jim says as he tries to punch the krab. A tackles him out of the way before the krab can connect. The krab then turns to face them.
"Energy field!" A says but misses. The krab fires but also misses. With it distracted, Jim runs away and the krab is concerned with A. "Let's play tag Xana!"
A arrives at the groundkeeper's shed. She is blocked as the krab would be able to hit her if she tried to run for it.
"Hey, you! Looking for me!" William calls out as the krab turns towards him.
"William, you don't know what you're messing with! Leave now!" A urges him, but he stands there, ready to take a bullet.
Suddenly, Ulrich comes down and stabs it through the eye, like on Lyoko. "You two are lucky! I could've let you both die!" Ulrich says to them.
"Hey, don't blame me because you have some issue with me since day 1!" William tells him.
"And I didn't set you up!" A adds.
"Why does he believe you set him up?"
"Last night, I made a comment and you being the smooth talking, Casanova you are, ruined his trust in me by showing up to Yumi's unannounced. You're lucky Yumi doesn't like you back or this friendship between me and him would be over. So, yeah this is mostly your fault!"
"I know Yumi likes Ulrich, but he didn't seem too interested in her, so I decide to make a move."
"How about you stay away from her! Your not welcome around us!" Ulrich tells him.
"You ain't gonna stop me from being around Yumi, Stern! She likes me as a friend and if you want to ruin your friendship with her, then by all means I'll stop seeing her."
"You two need to shut up! We have more problems! There is another krab at the factory and one at Yumi's place" A informs them.
"I'll head to Yumi's" Ulrich says.
"William, can you assist Odd a the old, abandoned factory?" A asks.
"Sure, I got an idea" William says with a smile.
"Ulrich, let me fly to Yumi's. It will be quicker."
She activates her wings and picks Ulrich up as they take off.
Yumi's Point of View
Yumi was able to find her family safe and sound. She tries to get them away form the area. She looks around and sees no signs of the krab. "Let's go." Suddenly a laser comes in and hits her in the leg.
Her father tries to go in and trying to slice its leg but can't. The krab knocks him next to Yumi and he drops the sword.
The krab then approaches them, looking at Yumi, preparing to finish her. It fires but is blocked. Yumi looks up and sees a mysterious figure. "Not today Xana" the figure says. When Yumi gets a closer look, she sees it is A.
A's Point of View
A stands between Yumi and the krab. Ready to defend. "Hey, Ulrich, take over!"
"Hey shrimp! Why not leave her alone and take on someone who isn't afraid to fight back!" Ulrich says holding the sword. Ulrich confronts the krab as A checks on Yumi and her father.
"You okay?" A asks.
"Just a little wounded" Yumi responds.
"What about him?"
"Knocked out but he'll live."
The krab continues to fire at Ulrich. He is able to slice off one of the legs. "Ulrich, you are the greatest!" Hiroki calls out as he runs over to him.
"Hiroki, no!" Ulrich calls out as the krab turns toward shim.
A sees it charge his laser and she intercepts it, blocking the shot. A is knocked back.
Yumi's Point of View
Ulrich stabs the eye, disabling the krab. He drops the sword and runs up to A with Yumi. "A, are you alright?"
"Well, I hope you know that I didn't set you up" A says, weakly.
"No, I was foolish. I was blinded by rage, and I didn't think straight."
"Funny thing is, no matter how many times we screw up, we always shine as friends. Remember that, because it's what separates us from Xana and makes us human…"
A faints as Ulrich's phone rings. "Jeremy, launch a return to the past quick!" He hangs up. "Hang on A!" A white bubble engulfs them, Ulrich hoping A didn't pass away.
A's Point of View
A wakes up in her abode after blacking out, teetering o the edge of death. She walks out only to be met with Xana. "I warned you that if you interfered with me again, I won't hesitate to kill you."
"So that gives you every right to kill a little kid?!" A retorts back.
"He would have been a casualty in this war we have."
"Look here, kids are off limits! You want my help; you need to play my game as well."
"You see, I don't see you doing anything except steering me the wrong way Aelita. Something tells me you need my help, as much as I need yours. This partnership goes both ways. You play yours and I'll play mine. But we won't play each others!" He disappears.
A then heads back to the academy. She arrived in time to see Ulrich's practice run and sees him as an excellent driver. William approaches him.
"Hey, you really know what your doing Ulrich" William tells him.
"Thanks" Ulrich responds nicely.
"You want to come to my go kart club? We'd have a great time together."
"Sure" Ulrich agrees, shaking his hand. Ulrich turns towards her and smiles, knowing that she survived and his trust in her is restored. A hoped that he and William could at least learn to play nice together before he becomes one of them. She wasn't gonna let him fall to Xana this time.
A.N. – An thus ends the krab chapter. Next one will be a combo chapter. As for episode 43 – 48, I don't know how many will be combos before I reach episode 49 which will be its own separate episode.
