Chapter 41 The Savior (Tip Top Shape & Is Anybody Out There?)
A.N. – So, the first episode involves a special scene that will allow Odd to re-trust A. How? If you know the episode, you know exactly what I'm talking about. For the rest, it will be a surprise. On the second episode, it will mostly involve A on Earth protecting Jeremy. Again, you know the episode, you'll know from what.
Short Summary – Jeremy has found a way to even the odds with Xana. During his next attack, Jeremy tests it and it soon turns dire as now two towers remain active and one's life hangs in the balance.
Short Summary – With all but Jeremy on board, A has Xana direct his next attack at Jeremy. Now A has to save Jeremy from Xana's next attack, but her decision may be her worst mistake.

Tip Top Shape
A was working on her laptop in the library, which thankfully was unoccupied with the student physical. Jeremy was concerned that without medical records, Aelita would soon be found out and more problems would arise then the ones they already have. A, knowing her past self's records, offered to forge her medical records. They wouldn't be done before Aelita's turn, but she knew she would get a freebee. Just as A was finishing up, her superscan activates.
"Perfect time for an attack Xana. If he's targeting Aelita, no point in heading to the infirmary. I'll just head straight for the factory." She closes the laptop, packs it up, and heads out.
A was running across the bridge. She didn't see the others or the nurse. She didn't know if she was ahead of the others or behind. She called Jeremy. "Jeremy, I'm in the factory. Where are you?"
"We're in the lab. Use the corridor. We blocked the elevator to slow down Xana" Jeremy informs her.
"Okay. On my way."
She hangs up and heads in the direction of the corridor. As A descends into the lab, Jeremy is explaining how to pixelized someone to fight with Xana on even terms.
"Perfect timing. You're about to witness Odd get Jeremified" Yumi tells A.
"Mind filling me in."
"Prepare to be amazed," Jeremy simply answered. The superscan activates, but instead of showing a tower activated by Xana, it shows a tower activated from the lab. "I did it! I activated a tower!"
"So, you finally figured it out" A points out.
"You knew how to do this?"
"I knew the supercomputer had this function but didn't know how to activate it." Jeremy was always the one to activate towers to help with their missions with the future skid. She never activated a tower herself.
"Okay, now for the main event." Jeremy hits enter and a specter enters him, and an orange aura engulfs him.
"Odd, how do you feel?" Yumi asks.
"Fully charged" he responds, his voice changed like someone possessed by Xana.
Jeremy virtualized Yumi, Aelita, and Ulrich to the forest sector to deactivate the tower and stop the nurse. During the mission though, Jeremy receives an urgent message from Odd. "Jeremy, I'm losing power. Is that supposed to be happening?"
"Uh," Jeremy responds as Odd's power start to drop.
"Jeremy, look" A points out as the tower he activated starts to flash between his activation and Xana activation.
"Yumi, can you hear me?"
"Yes, Jeremy" she responds.
"It's about Odd. We got a big problem."
"Well, it's not easier over here either."
"Listen, Xana has taken control of the tower for him. There's nothing I can do for him. It's out of my hands."
"But how will that affect Odd? Will Xana be able to take control of him as well?"
"Well, looks like he'd rather pump his energy."
"You mean…until he…"
"Yeah…"
"Jeremy, virtualize me. I'm going to save Odd" A demands.
"But you can't-"
"Believe me. I have abilities that I can't explain. All you can do is trust me. I know you don't, but we can't argue the point right now. Odd's life is on the line."
A steps in the scanner. "The tower is in the mountain sector. Transfer A. Scanner A. Virtualization."
A lands in a fog in the mountain sector. "Jeremy, the mountain sector is covered in fog. I can't see the ground."
"Must have been for Aelita. To delay her so Xana can have the time he needs to finish Odd, rather it be from the nurse or the tower."
"Just guide me."
"Okay, walk ahead till I stay stop." A starts walking, keeping an ear out for Xana's unwanted visitors. "Stop!" A nearly falls but retracts. "Okay, you'll have to go around a rock. Go around to the left." A feels the invisible rock. "After the rock, it's straight ahead to the tower."
Once a could no longer feel the rock, she ran straight ahead, and she heard buzzing. "Jeremy, do you see what I hear?"
"Yeah, hornets."
A took off into a run to get the tower before the hornets could get her. They started firing and were missing. A ran into the tower. She sighed in relief. She walked up to the center and ascended to the top, doing a flip before reaching it. She walks up to the center of the upper platform. She places her hand in the interface.

"Tower deactivated." The screens descend as the tower deactivates and saves Odd. She walks out and sees the hornets. "Hello friends. Energy fields!" A creates tow orbs and destroys the monsters.
"A…how did you…?"
"I told you. I have abilities I can't explain."
Jeremy's communication was cut off as Xana appeared. "Very disappointing."
"No murder. Do I need to spell it out for you? This is what, the fourth or fifth time you've tried to kill one or more of them!"
"It wasn't me this time. Jeremy shouldn't mess with the towers. He's tampering with forces he has no control over."
"Leave the warriors out of it. He may have messed up, but that doesn't give you a free pass to break my rules."
"You better have a good reason for doing what you just did…Aelita."
"In fact I do. With this, Odd will trust me. Now, all to do is convince Jeremy."
When the communications comes back on, Jeremy speaks to her. "A, I lost you for a minute."
"Don't worry about it. Any news?"
"Yeah. Aelita just deactivated the tower and Odd is safe. I wish I could tell you more, but we need to get the nurse back before Jim and Delmas start questioning what happened."
"No problem. I'll just head back home."
"Well, being Jeremified was cool, until Xana tried to kill me. By the way, thank you A" Odd says.
"Yeah, but no more of that. I need to figure out how to stabilize towers so Xana can't try that again" Jeremy says.
As the bell rings for class a pulls Odd aside for a second. "You trust me?"
"I never didn't."
"I'm talking about the spying on me."
"I never had a reason to not trust you. I don't know what Jeremy and Aelita think makes you an enemy, but no enemy would do what you did."
"That's nice to hear."
They both smile and A now prepares for her final and most difficult rescue…Jeremy.
Is Anybody Out There?
A didn't know when Xana was going to launch his next attack or what it even was. The only condition she had for this one was it was to target Jeremy. A knew if she could gain his trust, she would be in prime position in case she needed to betray them. She didn't want to, but only she understands what that choice would do. The night quickly came, and this is when her superscan activated. "Show time." She then went to the dorms as that is where the students are. As she was approaching Jeremy's room, she ran into Ulrich.
"Why are you here?" Ulrich asks.
"I got my reasons," A responds. "What about you? You're supposed to be asleep."
"I had a meeting with Sissi in the boiler and I believed we were attacked by Xana's ghost."
"I don't know if you encountered a real ghost, but Xana is definitely active. My superscan picked up an activated tower."
"Let's warn him then."
The two entered Jeremy's room and woke him up.
"Jeremy," Ulrich shakes his shoulders. "Xana has woken up."
"Uh, my laptop" he responds.
"Not needed. A's superscan picked it up."
"Did you see where?"
"No. As soon as I saw it I rushed over here" A responded.
"Now we gotta figure out the ghost" Ulrich says.
"What ghost?" Jeremy asks.
Suddenly, they heard screams coming from the hallway and they saw Jim levitating in the air. It eventually releases Jim, and he falls flat on his back. Odd and Sissi also appear and Sissi runs away in fear. They hear moans as something approaches them. The ghost tries to go for Jeremy but misses and grabs Odd's foot. Jeremy grabs the fire extinguisher, spraying whatever was holding Odd.
"Well, I guess this ghost is Xana's. The monster pixelized when I hit" Jeremy says.
"So, we just need to get to the factory with Aelita and deactivate the tower" Odd says.
Jeremy enters Aelita's room while the others keep a lookout and Ulrich informs Yumi. The group hears Jeremy yelp and check it out to see something pinning Jeremy down. Ulrich flips the light switch and see the monster and A sees her opportunity to begin her redemption. She grabs a ruler and strikes the monster, and it disappears.
"It's now or never. If this is modeled after a real ghost, it won't stay dead for long" A says as all five of them rush out of the room and head towards the factory.
The five of them all race over to the factory. As they descend down into the sewers, they hear the ghost approaching. They all reach the bridge and see Yumi waiting for them.
"What took you so long?" Yumi asks.
"Xana attacked us directly and we got a little sidetracked" A explains.
"Let's find out where this tower is" Jeremy says as he activates the superscan. "Uh oh, bad news. Xana has managed to corrupt the superscan. There's an activated tower, but it can't detect it. "
"How come A's worked?" Ulrich asked.
She had to come up with an excuse quickly. In reality, she had an advanced version with programs that protect it from Xana. "I guess maybe it happened shortly after Xana activated the tower."
"Then we got lucky. We would been deciding if it was real, or Xana until Jeremy defeated it the first time."
"First things first, we'll have to fix our superscan. Aelita and Yumi will head to sector five to recover the data to repair it. The rest of you should scout the other sectors" Jeremy decides for the group.
"No, I'm staying. I got matters to attend to with that ghost" A retorts.
"Me too. It's bound to come back, and you'll need some protection Jeremy" Ulrich adds.
"Okay. Odd can you manage this on your own?"
"No problem. I'll find that tower" Odd answers.
Jeremy virtualizes the three and he helps the girls get to the core zone, but as the countdown begins, the ghost reappears. "Time to move!" Ulrich urges and they all climb up the ladder. The ghost stares down A and she motions towards Jeremy, and it nods in response. The ghost then allows her to escape. What she didn't know is that Xana had an ulterior motive with this attack.
The others are hiding in the control room and the ghost peeks in, looking for Jeremy. It finds him and approaches him. "A, Ulrich, a little help!" The two each have one electric cable and they both strike the ghost, and it disappears.
"He was tougher then the last one" A comments. 'That means with each defeat this ghost gets tougher and tougher. This is really bad' she thinks.
"Let's get back to the lab before he comes back" Ulrich says as they take off back to the corridor.
As the three approach the elevator, the ghost grabs Jeremy and lifts him up. Ulrich then tries to fight it, but he phases through it. He then grabs a stick and tries a little melee combat. The ghost knocks the stick out of his hand and then it garbs him. They're only hope was A. The ghost started at her and laughed, like Xana was mocking her. Odd appears and grabs Ulrich's stick and he stabs it, but it doesn't affect the ghost. It turns to face him, and A uses this as an opportunity to free Jeremy. She grabs a metal stick and strikes the arm releasing Jeremy. She catches him and drops him and the frees Ulrich, doing the same. The ghost turns to face them and as it was about to strike, it disappears.
"Looks like Aelita did it" Jeremy comments.
They were all back in the lab discussing the past events. "Well, since we failed to repair the superscan, our only chance at repairing it is the return in time" Jeremy says.
"Wait! Before we jump back in time, do all you trust me again?" A asks.
"I do. Those wolves could have torn me to shreds" Ulrich comments.
"And who knows what would've happened if that tree crushed me" Yumi adds.
"You saving me from Xana's death trap was the work of a real hero" Odd adds.
"You put up with my insanity and saved me from the Scyphozoa. Xana probably would've gotten my memory if it wasn't for you" Aelita adds.
"And you put yourself in harm's way and saved me multiple times from the ghost. You are really our savior" Jeremy finishes.
"Thanks guys" A says with a smile.
"Welcome back. Return to the past now." Jeremy presses enter and time is reversed.
A was in sector five reporting to Xana the good news. "They all trust me again. We can now continue."
"Good, because next time we make a play for the keys. It might be risky, but I believe the current you and others would love to meet the creator" Xana comments.
"Don't do that…please" A replies, fearing that Xana would release him.
"No, I won't free him. He is a valuable asset to me, and he will be mine until I have something just as valuable. My keys."
"They're not your keys. They were entrusted to me to keep from you."
"And look how that tuned out. Whatever you're trying to prevent or fix, you need Aelita to lose her keys, just like you did. If you want a win, you need to take a loss."
A went back to her mountain abode. The next attack would be a tiring one.
